Hello, my delightful dewdrop! I have a relaxing, crochet shawl pattern to share with you today, and I’d love to tell you more about it!
Circumfractal was designed by Cari Jehlik. When asked about her design, Cari said, “Lacy drop stitch rows, eyelets, texture, unlimited color choices, gradient color transitions. This shawl has it all! Circumfractal is a gorgeous, drop stitch, half-pi shawl design that can be completely customized to whatever size is desired by following the established doubling of the pattern. Alternating single and double crochet stitches give the shawl an inviting, yet luxurious texture that is fun to work on without overly taxing the brain. Make it small to wrap around your neck. Make it large to wrap around your body. Make it middle size to make it just right.”
This Adventurous Beginner level pattern is for crocheters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Stitches and skills include single crochet, double crochet, basic lace, and blocking.
Circumfractal is made with our Twisted Tweed Sport yarn. Twisted Tweed Sport is a wonderfully soft and bouncy, 2-ply, sport weight yarn. This unique fiber blend includes two types of wool that are twisted together. Because they take the dye differently, the result is a cool, barber pole effect! And gold, plum, and brown Donegal Tweed neps are flecked throughout.
This base has such an earthy, homey, charming feel. It can be dressed down and worn in the most casual of cozy settings or dressed up for elegant occasions. It has a heirloom, heritage, yet hip, modern vibe to it. This yarn is a blend of 43% Superwash Merino Wool, 42% Fine Merino Wool, and 15% Donegal. It has 384 yds/351 m per skein.
The sample shown here was made with our Cloudscape Hues Twisted Tweed yarn kit and used approximately 1299 yards (1188 m) total – Color A: 315 yards (288 m), Color B: 316 yards (289 m), Color C: 316 yards (289 m), and Color D: 316 yards (289 m).
We made a video showing how to work the first section. I hope you’ll take a look!

Hi, l just can’t get the stitch right at the end of section1 row 9? I got 30 stitch.
Hi there, thank you ofr reaching out. I’m not 100% sure what’s going on but it looks like you’re just missing one stitch to match the final stitch count for row 9. If you make another increase you should be all good. If you feel like the mistake has happened before that already, please go ahead and reach out to us via the contact form at https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/contact-us/ and I’m sure we can figure it out.
Thank you and have a nice day! 💕
