Hello, my little buttercup! This week, I have an adorable, knitted shrug that is absolutely perfect for covering up in air-conditioned rooms or keeping you warm on a cool evening. I hope you’ll keep reading to learn more about it.
Curtsy was designed by Candy Key. When asked about this pattern, Candy said, “I love to dance and have danced for years. One of my dances of choice is ballet. When you finish your dance, you curtsy. To me, the curtsy is a very respectful gesture and represents the presentation and the end of something that has been beautiful and flowing. Speaking of flowing, that is what this shrug does. It is made with Sugar Fluff Fingering yarn, which means it is soft and feels silky and lustrous as it drapes from its frame, thus a curtsy.”
“Curtsy was designed with 3/4 length sleeves. Layer this on top of your shirts and blouses for some warmth. You can wear it and show off your bracelets! Curtsy is knit with three colors that graduate into each other. A collar was added to finish off this design. Enjoy!”
This Intermediate level pattern is for those knitters who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/ concepts include knitting two stitches together, picking up stitches, ribbing, seaming, and single crocheting an edge.
Curtsy was made using our incredibly soft, Limited Edition Sugar Fluff Fingering yarn. Sugar Fluff Fingering is very fluffy and absolutely divine! This yarn is a fun, fingering weight yarn with lovely drape and a beautiful halo and is ideal for multi-seasonal use and all your treasured items. Sugar Fluff Fingering is made with 80% Suri Alpaca and 20% Acrylic with 364 yds/333 m per 3.5 oz/100 g skein.
The sample shown here was knitted with one skein each of colors A) Linden Lace, B) Bunny Cake, and C) Glenwood Sugar Fluff Fingering and is shown in Size 1, modeled on a 34″ (86.5 cm) bust.
Curtsy is offered in three sizes: 1 (XS/S/M), Size 2 (L/XL), and Size 3 (2XL/3XL/4XL), and all sizes use one skein each of three colors.
Be sure to order all you need for your project because once this yarn is gone, it is gone!

But I’d love to win the yarn to make todays shrug
…. Colours look wonderful
The main reason though is to share with my friend who recently lost her husband and this week is their anniversary. So I’d love to give her something to smile about

Shrugs are such warm hugs when you need that little bit more. Have made several for others and myself and they are some of my favorites to wear.
