I crochet & knit all year, preferably like to make projects with lighter weight yarns during spring and summer, the yarns in the giveaway are perfect
Your colors schemes and combinations are amazing as always, so it’s such a pleasure working with them 🥰
I only know how to crochet, so there’s that, lol!
Hi chandi,
I love to crochet.
I always love teal color to crochet in any season. But I love all the color in your shop. It’s so gorgeous
I tend more toward brighter colors in spring & summer. Purples & blues are my favorite, but I also use pinks, greens, and the occasional yellow on spring & summer.
Good Morning,
I crochet & use all colors of yarn/thread. Springtime colors tend to be pastel, though.
I’m always looking for creative ideas & patterns, so I appreciate your site!
Have not yet learned to knit either, so it’s crochet for me too. Excited to get going with lighter weight yarns and colors for the warmer season.
I crochet (I used to even weave when I was in college) your display is lovely but how do I subscribe to be able to be eligible?

I have been drawn to a multitude of pastels this Spring. Each year is different. This year it’s muted colors and pastels that make my heart sing ❤️
I don’t have a preference of knit or crochet for working with spring colors-depends on the project. My favorite colors are…all of them!! I really love the deep yellows with greens, blues, deep pinks and fuchsia…
Debjani said it all. I too crochet and knit and Chandi your energy and positive vibe is such a blessing to us all. The color matching and patterns, everything – just makes my day brighter. I love all that you do
I Luke peach and coral color!
You have such beautiful colored yarn. I don’t have any favorite colors for spring, I just love pinks and purples so I tend to be drawn to yarn with those colors in it. Thanks for the opportunity to win some of your fabulous yarn.
I prefer lighter colors for spring and avoid black and gray. This Spring I’m tempted to make something in yellow.
I crochet and love bright colors like yellow, orange and red
I definitely love pastel colours for Spring!
I love your yarns, so beautiful in texture & color. I’m still fairly new at knitting, more experienced with crocheting, so I Love your new shrug pattern, but knitted clothing looks prettier. I’ve tended more toward pinks & yellows for Spring last couple of yrs, though I love teal, lilac, cool colors preferred.
I usually use colours that speak to me in that moment, and I generally love gradients and ombres. This spring I’ve been drawn to lots of pastels to combat the rainy grey outside…
I both knit and crochet, loving every stitch! My most preferred colorways are purples, violets pinks blues and greens. My favorite items to make are shawls, cowls and one-of- a-kind wearable art. I so enjoy all EFA yarns and patterns!
I knit in any colours throughout the year. I don’t really have a preference in what colours I knit with based on the season. Happy April!
Hi Chandi
I want to say congratulations to Pamela Ogston
For being the lucky one to get all that yummy yarn ❤️
I crochet mostly. I’m slowly learning to knit
I don’t quite have it yet. And I just love all the colors it’s so hard to pick just one. But I thinks I go for the blues and warm colors the most.
I hope one day to win one of your monthly give aways.
See you on Tuesday love seeing what your doing next and what colorways you comeup with.
I prefer to knit and crochet with light weight yarns in the spring and love vibrant colors!
I love any color all year. I tend to use more earthy/darker colors because they are easier to keep clean, for my family anyway. I use the bright cheerful colors for friends! Knitting or crochet…i always have at least one project on needles and the same on a hook…and five on the loom…and 1000 in my brain😛
Hi, Chandi,
I,too, like to crochet, and I also knit. The teal colors appeal to me.. Also, congrats to the last winner.
Jo
I don’t tend to use a specific color in spring but have noticed I gravitate more towards bright and bolder colors in spring. 😁
I love how you display the yarns. It’s so inspirational. I’m a crocheter but struggle with color design. So usually I just go with the color thr designer uses. It usually works for me since I donate all my items, which means family and friends have enough crocheted items in their home. Guess that’s what happens when you’ve been crocheting 53 years.
I knit year round, and lobe deep, rich colors
I love to crochet with all kinds of colors! I love using bright cheery colors in the spring! This year I’m feeling drawn to lively grassy greens and sunshiny yellows and popping purples!
This is beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️ 🙏 all all blue is paradise to me since it is my favorite color in all shades
Colors I use are dependent on my project not the season.
Blues are my favorite colors, any time of year. But my philosophy is “Buy the box with all the crayons, and use them all up!” The seasons don’t affect my color choices, but they do affect the choice of yarn weight and fiber content.
To crochet or knit..hmmm. Depends on how soon I want gratification. To me knitting had always looked better until I found your patterns. I have yarn and patterns for a lot of shawls and a few sweaters. I recently bought a couple of tops from you, some knit, some crochet.
I love the pastels lavender, green, pinks, blues and orange.
I just wanted to again say Thank you!! I have entered the giveaway for years and never won… Until now!!! This is such a blessing to me. I will share pictures when it arrives. Thank you Chandi ♥️
Congrats! What a blessing!
I prefer to knit. I know how to crochet, but it’s been a long time since I have done any crocheting. I don’t think I gravitate to particular colors by season. I’m more likely to choose lighter weight yarns or cotton or linen based yarns in Spring and Summer, and use more worsted weight wools in the fall and winter.
I don’t really think to coordinate my colors with the season. I’m usually making gifts, so I choose colors based on the person and the project. But I have been in a bit of a knitting slump lately — maybe I can find inspiration in the flowers popping up all over the place!
I crochet with with whatever fits the mood, that includes pattern and color. it also explains why i have 2 main projects and 6 or 7 WIPs at the moment LOL
Nope. Whatever fits the mood and pattern is fair game year-round.
Hello. The yarn is gorgeous this month (again).
I prefer to knit and I’m a huge fan of soft lighter colors. I’ve had your Ocean Hues kit on my wish list forever!
Nancy, do you know if that kit is still available? Which yarn base would it be under? I have SO many of her kits and skeins on my wish list, haha.
I think Nancy might be referring to our Coastal Hues which are available on Luster Sport. Here is the link to the kit: https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/coastal-hues-luster-sport-kit.html
Have a nice day! – Johanna 🥰
I seem to change my colours in the spring / summer to lighter colours, I’m a knitter mostly, and hoping to start a crochet blanket soon.
Absolutely gorgeous colors!! I knit all year round with all different colors. Usually work on smaller projects in the summer i.e. socks.
I crochet year round…. I dont think I use specific colors based on the season…. In the last year or two I have started using the fingering weight yarns more in the spring/ summer months.
What a beautiful layout for this yarn giveaway. So springlike! And some of my favorite colors and yarn bases. Thank you for your continuous joy and generosity.
Knit and crochet
I tend to gravitate toward lilacs, Robin’s egg blues, and soft greens in the spring. I was so excited to see the mystery oopsie I added to my latest order was a lovely lavender!
I just started learning how to knit, but i crochet with very bright colors
Hi Chandi – Of all your giveaways, THIS bunch is the one I want the most! These are all my favorite colors and combinations, especially because I have an April birthday! I’m primarily a crocheter, really getting into all forms of Tunisian crochet, but also love to knit just to change things up. I love to work with spring colors and experiment with different combinations. I have always gravitated towards the richer springs tones – mauves, roses, lilacs, steely blues, chocolates, creams, ambers – rather than the pastels. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the vibrant colors of this month’s giveaway yarns…they draw your eyes in and force you to look. To me they completely represent LIFE and ENERGY which is exactly what spring is after a long winter!
Knitter here! Love pink and rose hues!
Congratulations, Pamela Ogston, on winning the March Giveaway!!! Enjoy creating with all that beauty at your fingertips!
Thanks Chandi! I prefer lightweight cottons normally. Always blues no matter what time of year. In spring like teals, fuchsia & greens
Although I am a year-round pastel lover, I really dig into the obsession in the spring time when fresh, budding colors are all around me outside. You’d be surprised at how well downtown DC showcases the gorgeous colors that spring has to offer. Gentle blues, pinks and purples are all my favorite. I was born in April so maybe the springtime (and its color palette) are just part of me!
Usually too much going on around house to do knitting or crochet. I just started knitting socks, so that is now my sitting at practice and waiting.project, so whatever color is for.the person.
I prefer all colors any time of year!
Hi Chandi; You and your talented staff continue to produce the most luscious yarn! These colors ara absoultely stunning, and I would be so happy to be able to make my secret prayer partner a gift from one of these beauties. Happy Spring!!
Knitting! Every day!! I love the soft colors of this month’s yarns,
Thank you for the opportunity to enter your giveaway Chandi! Beautiful yarn, beautiful photos! I’m trying to lean into pinks and greens and Spring flower colours at the moment, even though the dark colours still call xox
It doesn’t matter what time of the year it is I use the same colours, greys, off whites, pink and my favourite one purple, unless someone has asked me to make them something in a specific colour/s
I prefer to crochet as I can make projects up faster than knitting.
I crochet, purples, pinks, browns are my favorites
I can create with your beautiful palette any time of year!! You never cease to amaze & everything is a unique treasure!!
I don’t change my colors due to season, I just work on whatever I have going.
Lately everything has been going wrong so I am spending more time frogging than knitting!
I do need a fade kit for a shawl I want to make.
I don’t choose any specific colors for Spring. I just love to knit with a rich variety of colors all year. 🙂
I love knitting with pinks, purples, and greens year round. Seem to have found a color palette I can use nearly every season!
Nie robie na szydelku az tak czesto, a zwykle w niebieskich, niezaleznie od pory roku.
In the spring, I like crocheting with light springy colors like lavender, light aquas, and pinks. I’m a sucker for any shade or purple or teal. I usually use darker shades in the fall and winter. I love your yarns!
No matter the season, I’m drawn to purples and greens. I love bold, saturated colors and fall in love with variegated yarns that remind me of wild flower fields.
I am a bit set on my colours and seasons do not change this. I use mainly black, deep shades of red, blue, purple, green. I actually dislike padtells, especially pink.
I prefer knitting, but also crochet. Love your yarn
Congratulations Pamela!
And hello Chandi et al!
I prefer to crochet, since I have yet to learn how to knit. In the spring I prefer to use lighter weight yarn, but I love to experiment with different colors regardless of the season. I am often drawn to my favorite color, blue, but I love color and I love to make presents, which impacts my decision making as well. This month’s colors are amazing! I’m working on Mother’s Day gifts now, but these colors would be phenomenal to work with for mid-May and the beginning of June. There are a couple of shirts I have been eyeing that would be awesome to make in the giveaway yarn.
I just love all the colors of yarn in your website. If I could, I would buy one of each. It is so hard to pick. I love how upbeat your messages are all the time!!
Good Resurection Morning, Chandi! I’m mostly a knitter. I know a lot of crochet stitches which I learned years ago, but prefer to knit now. I don’t really plan color cordination with seasons, as it usually takes me a while to finish a project. However, I do love the look of greens, lavenders, and pinks in the Spring time. Maybe a little yellow sprinkled in. I just love colors and playing with them.
Knitting and crocheting in shades of blue; my favorite all year round.
For me, the choice of knitting or crocheting depends upon the pattern (or stitch) and yarn. Vibrant spring colors along with woodsy naturals are colors I go to as the weather gets warmer. And while I tend to go for solids for stitch definition, I’m trying to get brave about using tonal and variegated. I appreciate all the beautiful options EFA provides to allow one to be adventurous.
I crochet only. Doesn’t matter the color, I’ll find someone who will love it!!
I can’t say that my color choices are based on the season but more so on the project. I love working with all colors but do tend to lean more towards blues, purples and neutrals.
I like to knit because I feel it challenges my brain neurons more! I do prefer crochet for making stuffed animals!
Beautiful colors! I like lighter colors and materials for spring and summer. Darker and bulkier ones in fall and winter.
As we head into spring, I like to knit & crochet with yarn in bright spring flower colors especially pinks and purples and even pastels (which are not normally my “go to” colors of choice). It gives me a mental lift as we anticipate the changing of the season.
I don’t have any preferred colors during certain times of the year. I just love color all the time!
I mainly knit year round. I do crochet afghans when the weather is colder & a family member requests one
I love to crochet with a variety of colors. I choose based on the project, regardless of season. This spring I have a few baby blankets to make, so I’ll be working with super soft yarns in bright, fun colors.
No.. I have no bias. Any color any project any day. 🙂
I am a crochet who is learning to knit! I love your yarn colors, they are all so gorgeous!
I do both knitting and crocheting but Mt preference nowadays is kntting. I really don’t have a color preference, just whatever catches my eye! Your yarns are all beautiful. April’s giveaway is beautiful and the display is gorgeous, as usual! Thanks for the opportunity to enter!!
I love bright colours year round 😀
I always gravitate to the same colours all year! Greys and blues. Just the weight of yarn changes.
Love the pastels of Spring. Your colors are always so beautiful. I often have to purchase them! I both knit and crochet., although more proficient with knitting. Thank you for your lovely giveaways. Hope I win one sometime soon.
I like blues, greens and purples in the spring. Knitting is my favorite, but I do crochet with cotton threads. I absolutely love the way you’re doing the layouts for the giveaways. Just like giant bouquets! The yarn weights you’re giving away are my favorites. I just made a pair of socks with your cashsilk and they are so incredibly soft! My sister in law is going to love them.
Thanks again for your generosity and for spreading joy to all the winners!
It really depends on what I’m making, what colour yarn I have and what mood I’m in. At the moment I’m working with leftover yarn in various colours ranging from dark purples and grey to bright golden yellow to pinks and blues, all in light and darker variations. Since spring is having a bit of trouble showing up this year the yarn brightens up my days.
Chandi and Crew, as always, STUNNING yarns! Its a sure bet no matter what I order.
I lean toward pastel colors, blues, pink, purple and greens.
Right now I’m obsessed with cauldron green. Very bright, yellowy green that reminds my of early buds in spring!
I only crochet, but have dabbled a bit trying to learn to knit (swatches/wash clothes only at this point). I have crocheted baby items and several large blankets for family in their requested colors, but my favorites are blues, purples, and teals/greens. I lean to the lighter pastels for spring and the deeper jewel tones for fall/winter.
I knit. Smaller projects like socks for summer time. I like variegated yarn.
I use your yarn for all my best projects.
I love the same colors year-round. Which is ALL of them. Pastels and brights. Rich earth tones and “get your sunglasses” bolds.
I used to knit, but stopped (for various reasons).. a few months ago, I started to teach myself to crochet.. so far I’m loving it! I really love your yarns. The colours are just stunning. I usually love jewel colors. I would use them year round! Spring colours for me are vibrant blues, greens, deeper pinks, oranges.. like a bouquet of flowers!
Your knit patterns are wonderful! They are tempting me to knit again!
My colors are based on the project I’m making. I’ve been really loving all the things I’m learning to challenge myself in knitting!
I love to crochet and just recently began knitting. I love the jewel tones, black and grey! I mainly crochet baby blankets but I’ve been branching out to learn new techniques.
I love the tones from purple to pink to blue and greens. All of the nuances, solid and gradients. But I can struggle for a grey with some spots, golden nuances or a bright magenta. And shiny white can be so spiritual to work with
I have favorite colors but I tend to crochet any time of year with them. My favorites are teal/turquoise, permanent rose/quin magenta and a bright lime. Someday I hope to do a large scarf in those three colors!
No special colors for spring
I knit (and knit and knit)! I do tend to go towards lighter colors in the Spring and Summer, but they are usually still in my favorite part of the spectrum: Greens through Purple, with an occasional adventurous slide into Maroon. I am working on the Daisy pattern right now with your yarn in Gold. Very pretty!
I usually like to crochet and knit in lilacs and baby pinks, but this spring I’m all about pale blues and pale yellows
I learned to crochet first but now I only knit. I really love everything about it. Favorite spring colors are any – I love bright flowery colors and neutrals, too 🙂
+
I originally learned to crochet but have come to love to knit more than anything. All the summery colors are good – bright flowery colors, but I also love knitting on neutrals like beige and black, even in the springtime. Thanks for the chance to win your beautiful yarn!!
<3
I don’t use certain colors during different seasons, but one main color i use is green!!
My color choices are based on what I’m making as well as for which family member.
I’m always playing catch-up, but if I would start a new project in spring it would have teal, pink, or lilac.
I like to crochet lightweight blankets/throws and shawls in the Spring. Those colors are gorgeous!
Hi! I do not choose colors based on season, but rather for the person who I am knitting for, or because I like the colors and EFA has absolutely awesome color ways.
I will willingly crochet in teals any time of the year!!!
No..I knit with the same colors all year long!😊Thanks for another fabulous giveaway! Good luck everyone🍀
I like to knit each project in whatever color hits my fancy at the time. Seasonal colors are fun, but I don’t have to consrtuct in accordance to the season.
I love to crochet, but will knit because you can’t beat the way that it makes some colourways work up for some patterns. <3 I like pale violets and green and pale yellows in spring!
I don’t pick specific colors for Spring knitting/crocheting, but I do switch to lighter fibers (cotton, bamboo, SeaCell) and finer-gauge yarn.
All EFA yarn colors are stunning…I wouldn’t set any aside because of the season of the year! Blues do find their way onto my needles a lot!
Thank you for the chance to enhance my stash.
And “Congratulations “ to Pamela!
I only knit. I love all the colors and don’t base what I’m making on what season we’re in. Currently working on two blankets, one in a heavy cotton and the other your current MKAL with the mirage yarn
I knit year round and the colors I choose depend on how I’m feeling and what colors I have in my yarn stash.
I tend to focus more on lighter weight yarns than color when it comes to seasons. That said, I do find myself.drawn to coastal/beachy blues and greens.
I want to try different colors but I still tend to gravitate towards blues, purples, greys regardless of the season.
I do not have seasonal preferences.
Just learning to knit, so I primarily do crochet. Love the lavenders, hydrangeas blues, pale yellows & whites for spring.
Hi Chandi. I knit and Crochet and I always prefer warmer tones. For spring I especially like green tones. Have a beautiful day 💛
Susan
I love to knit, I learned from my mother and from school in England many moons ago! I have tried crochet but it just doesn’t speak to me. I live in North Carolina and belong to a knitting group of similarly-aged ladies who love to chat and swap stories, drink coffee and tea and put the world to rights. Knitting is such a relaxing craft for the mind and soul.
Hi Chandi, Tim and team! I tend to knit and crochet in pastels and light and bright colors in the spring. Thank you for such beautiful giveaways!!! 🌸🌼🌻
No favorite color, I just usually go with how I am feeling at the moment. I Knit and Crochet but I think Crochet is my go to craft that I prefer. Thanks for the giveaway Chandi!
THESE ARE MY COLORS 😍😍😍 Your team and you always outdo yourselves with these giveaways Chandi!!
I really enjoy working with palest yellow and Robin’s egg blue when I knit and crochet in the warmer months.
Can’t really say I have a particular colour preference based on the season. I may be more inclined to start using lighter tones, but even that isn’t always the case.
I love to knit and crochet and preferably in all kinds of different colors <3
Chandi, I love burgundy’s, pinks and purples! I love the way you combine colors in your yarn skeins. I look forward to your eye candy posts and the many beautiful patterns you offer for both knitting and crochet. Thank you so much for the lovely choices!
toujours de magnifiques photos
Hi Chandi, I love to crochet with all colors of yarn all year round. There are so many, it’s really hard to choose which ones I want for a project.
I don’t have a specific color that I like to use. I love to crochet with any color. Pastels are very pretty.
I have bought a pattern but not yarn yet. I like to touch my yarn and fabric first… hope to see you at an event someday. Love these colors. I just need more time to knit and sew:.. I may have to get a skein as a mystery…
I’ve learned that I love many colors and don’t have a favorite. 🙂 But if I think about colors I might like for spring, then soft pastels, light and soft colors. The picture of the giveaway is a lovely bunch of spring colors.
I love knitting in spring. After having knit with wool during the colder months I enjoy switching. 🐫 camel, bamboo, Yak, silk, and blends that are smooth and glide through my hands. Colors in spring are not bright colors of pinks and yellow. Spring for me is Blues, Greens, Grey and heather colors. To me the muted tones are more impactful than the brighter and pastel colors that spring is mostly k own for.
I think this is one the prettiest combos for the monthly giveaway yet. I have just the perfect pattern for these and don’t have a wip right now. I hope lady luck looks down on me favorably this month. 😀😀
I am learning to crochet! My next project (for summer)will be green with accents. Yellow? Brown? Pink? I am figuring it out!
I pretty much always use cool tones, though I’m trying to branch out!
Hi Chandi!
I love to crochet, have not ever knitted but would like to give it a go. The colors of the giveaway are beautiful!
I have to say that collection of Spring yarns is absolutely stunning. What an amazing color pallette. I prefer to crochet and with spring finally upon us I am choosing pinks and yellows. Actually anything pastel is catching my eye lately. I love seeing the new yarns and colors that come out this time of year
My favorites are blues, teals, and greens, but if I’m making something specific for a gift, I go with colors they like. I really love how you have place all the different colors in your kits, and seeing how you knit them all together….always SO beautiful!!!!
Crochet and knit, and blue year round. Mostly.
It takes me so long to finish things that I just work on projects for any season year round! I don’t color coordinate to the season. I do happen to have Embers on my hook using a pretty pink color that I would say goes well with spring…
I tend to gravitate to pastel colors in the spring time. But, if I see a pattern that I “must” start right away and it’s for fall/winter, then I’ll normally stay away from pastels.
I love knitting while I’m listening to music or watching a school or movie. I found some patterns on pinterest of hats and bags I want to do, but it requires me to crochet (I wouldn’t mind learning and expanding my knowledge of crafts). My favorite color is purple, so if I ever find a super soft purple yarn, you can bet I’ll buy it! ☺️💜
I love to knit and like Blues and teals but I love crocheting in purple but I’m a sucker for some good color work too.
I usually already have a large project I’m working on, but light colors and fibers are always better for spring; something that I can use for the summer.
Having mostly crocheted the last year, I’m enjoying getting back to knitting. Living in Florida, I mostly have used lightweight yarns, but the Enduring Worsted MCAL blanket is scrumptious. Oh my goodness, just as I wrote about getting back to knitting, Michelle Obama mentioned her knitting on the podcast I’m listening to. Cool coinkydink! Anyway, I haven’t noticed that I choose different colors to work with in different seasons. Looking at my stash, there’s a lot of saturated tones. Reds and teals and purples, oh my!
I like to knit with lighter colors during the spring and try to avoid using black and grey (my usual colors). I especially like pinks and purples, and this spring am planning to knit something with yellow.
The yarns are so beautiful! I especially love the photography this month. It’s just so gorgeous.
I am a knitter no matter the colors. The pallet on the pictures is stunning!
My color choices depend mostly on the project itself, what is needed in my wardrobe or for the gift I am making, and what speaks to me when I’m looking at the yarn. With so many beautiful options offered, it’s sometimes difficult to choose 😉
I have done just about everything fiber, including raising a heritage wool sheep! Love it all, but right now I’m on lace knitted shawl kick! I’m on my 4th.
That is a difficult choice, as I love both crafts (plus hybrid crochet)!
It would all depend on the pattern, as beautiful Spring colors would make either craft look so elegant:)
Lovely colors as always. I use all colors of the rainbow all year round but am heading into autumn here and looking to cast on some lovely browns.
I also knit and crochet. I prefer knitting but find myself doing them both about equal. Thank you for opportunity for giveaway!
I don’t really have a preference
Eek! Love the colors!
I prefer knitting in general, though I learned crochet first. I’ve not done much “spring knitting,” just always preparing for fall, winter, and new babies to cuddle 😁
I crochet and have yet to learn to knit but hopefully soon! I love all colors, for spring though I like the light and airy pastels and also jewel tone colors. It just depends on what I’m making!
I enjoy both knitting and crocheting year round with any colors. I maybe lean a bit towards seasonal colors but really am happy with any colors I have and try to mix it up some. (‘Cause let’s face it, a WIP may start in one season and end in another or after a couple! Lol!)
I usually crochet with softer colors for Spring, but sometimes a vibrant one will pop and then it’s a go! Purples, greens, and blues.
I love both knitting and crocheting. I’m thinking of stunning blue, green or teal for this Spring.
I love to knit and to it daily and never go anywhere without a knitting project. I also crochet rarely but you have some great patterns I am looking to do. I prefer the same colors year round for me (PURPLES, blues, teal, greens) but I am always shopping for my family to make projects and we love all the colors. My husband likes neon orange, my son and son-in-law like neon green. We have pink lovers, red lovers, blue lovers, yellow lovers and rainbow lovers. I usually get grays to coordinate with any color.
I love to crochet, both of my grandma taught me how to crochet so it’s always make me feel close to them when I crochet.. I’m a beginner in knitting but you have help me a lot with your videos. I hope some day soon I’ll get there. I love blue, black, brown, earthy colors more than anything, but I find that sometimes different colors make me feel so good specially when it rains. I love your patterns thank you so much for all your help.
I love your sense of color
I knit. Almost exclusively with your yarn these days. Mostly fingering, mostly shawls.
My colors run the gamut – but I’m usually drawn to cool colors – blue, pink, cream. I’m also always on the look out for the perfect red fingering or sport!!
What a stunning display! I knit and crochet and like others lighter yarn types in the hotter months which usually is pastel colors.
Thank you for the opportunity to win.
I prefer to knit, but I love to crochet too. As for colors, I love greens, dark or light!
All colours. I usually favor the blues violets and toffee Color’s but I’m looking at different colour schemes now
I love to knit but am going to try Tubucake crochet pattern. I love blues, green, yellow and purple. Your yarns are so beautiful, so any color would do:)
I crochet, the colors I use depend on the pattern I feel like making. Nothing in particular during spring.
I prefer for spring all shades of green and blue
I’m a knitter and a slow one at that but whatever time I can find to relax, knitting is always top of mind. I always tend towards the blues, I have your coastal hues kit and love it so much.
Hi there! I love the channel! I was taught to crochet and knit at a Quaker church when I was 10. I took to crochet, but knitting took too long for me. I was always anxious to get on to the next project, the next color scheme. I crocheted exclusivly until I saw a knitted felted purse at a craft fair. I tried duplicating this with crochet, and it just would not trun out right. I then taught myself to knit again and hve been mostly knitting for the past 25 years. I’m trying to get back into crochet and much has happened in the crochet world! I especially loved filet crochet and made many table runners and curtains. Thanks so much for your dedication to the craft world!
I do not have any seasonal preferences. I like fingering weight projects most, and I buy and use colors that catch my eye year-round.
I never have specific colors in mind when I crochet or knit (I just started knitting last year in March). I know in the Fall I do tend towards more Autumnal colors, but other times of year I just use what pleases me or what represents the person I am making the item for. lol Just like always the giveaway is breathtaking, thank you so much Chandi!!
I love to crochet with blues, purples and pinks in spring. I also love that wonderful spring green. Any lighter shade of all of those makes me love to see what I can create to capture the joy of spring.
I choose the colors based on the project I’m currently working on. I started out knitting and then learned to crochet. The season doesn’t change the colors I choose. I love yarn in all different colors.
I usually just go with whatever strikes my fancy at the moment- and lots of times I am crocheting during the spring/summer but making winter/fall items.
I don’t think I have particular colors I use at different times or seasons, just whatever I feel like using. Unless it is for someone else and then I use colors they would like. Those pictures are so lovely!
I love to knit! I tend toward greens, creams, tans, clay, warm colors year-round. In the spring lighter and brighter sometimes than in the fall!
I love knitting and crochet , do it on a daily basis. Love knitting socks and crocheting afghans
When spring comes I love using pastels and speckled yarns.
I hadn’t thought about whether I choose colors based on the season I’m in, but looking back at my past projects, I think I do, especially in Autumn. I tend to use softer colors most of the year, but definitely turn to the warm oranges, golds, spiced berry, etc. I’ll have to pay more attention to this 😉
I knit and crochet, though I probably crochet more for spring and summer items. I prefer lighter colors and creams with specks of color.
I am more a knitter, and tend to gravitate to the light, pale blues, creams and lilacs for spring. However i have dared even rich reds from this site and was not disappointed
Lighter colors seem to catch my eye more in the spring. With the weather warming I crochet smaller projects so as to not have a lot of weight (or warmth) in my lap. 🙂
I knit and crochet, and my favourite colours to work with in the spring are definitely yellows and greens, to mirror the garden waking up after winter. I love to see the daffodils growing, matching the yarn on my needles 🥰
I prefer knitting, and like light colours and thinner yarns for spring projects.
I love to knit but see through your tutorials that crochet is no longer limited to granny squares.! Love it! Thanks for all you do.
I also prefer both knitting and crocheting and with all sorts of colours, but since it is only for spring it will be lovely yellow, light yellow and light blue blended with some green 😊, thank you for the opportunity
Love a light shawl in the spring , or indoors with the ac being too cold
I don’t pick any specific colors for knitting in spring, but i enjoy knitting surrounded by the smell of the flowers!
I knit with whatever color I think is best for the project I am working on. I think that I may tend to go to lighter colors in the spring and summer months and darker colors for the fall and winter months.
Thank you for another gorgeous giveaway! ❤️
I knit and crochet. I love pink, blue, green, red, & brown all year round. But I tend to gravitate towards pink and the softer pastel colors in spring and summer.
I don’t pick patterns & colors by season, I just do whatever strikes me at the moment……
Like recently I had some neon yellow yarn (not full neon yellow, about 1/3….but yellow is possibly one of my least favorite colors) didn’t think I’d enjoy working with it, but I channeled my inner Stephen West & made a dotted rays… ended up loving the project
I love to knit but have a good friend who crochets. This is such an awesome giveaway, I think sharing it with her would amazing. These colors work for both of us!
I love to knit with purple all year round!
I love all colors but I do gravitate towards rich saturated teal and magenta.
Loving using your colors. I knit year around, making what ever strikes me. As for colors, as I knit (especially hand died yarns) I am finding a growing love of more color. Less saturation and yellows, rose, spring greens. So much beauty. Also like the tonal to appreciate the range of the individual color. Thank you for asking. Be well.
J
I kni and crochet inthespring I am longing for colours that add the same lightness and brigtness to the world after the dark winter months.
I knit and crochet, but my first love is crochet. I love anything blue. I think if I had to choose a color for spring I would go for a soft teal or maybe a soft mustard yellow.
aloha
I crochet and love using lighter colors for myself. I just finished a jacket in a buttery yellow and used mother of pearl buttons. Looking forward to wearing it soon. Yellows, cream, oranges and moss or seagreen are among my favorite colors, but I made a jacket a few years ago with golds, burnt orange, fushia and reddish purple…NOT me at all but I love it.
All your yarn is just amazing, and your pattern how-to videos are really full of detail. Wishing you a beautiful day.
No specific colours, I choose a colour that appeals to me, irrespective of the time of year.
I knit and crochet but not specific colors for Spring. Normally just my favorite different blue colors and also earthy colors like orange mustard brown yellow pistacio which is more autumn colors
I love, both, knit and crochet but crochet more. Personally, I love earth tones but usually fall in love with colours in a project for my loved ones… knowing what they would like. It’s a journey and joy to work the project and a bonus joy when you see their smiles.
I love to knit and I do shawls, socks, and blankets… your colors are unique. Love all your beautiful yarns and patterns, have a wonderful day x
The seasons don’t matter, my colors are purple and teal.
I love to knit with warm pastel/heathered colors in spring. I love bright colors, but there is something about soft pinks and greens that scream spring.
My yarn color palette doesn’t really change with the seasons. I just use what I want/need for the current project.
I love to crochet. I love all the spring colors.
I crochet every day! I’m not the best knitter unfortunately 😔
In spring I like to grab the light weight yarns with pastel colors or cream with color pops.
At this moment I’m crocheting a mosaic scarf/wrap in the colors solid yellow and self-striping pink/purple.
I love both knitting and crocheting, it‘s a difficult decision sometimes. My favorite color is any shade of blue, pretty much all year round. I might try some blush tones for spring/summer though.
I don’t usually change colors for the seasons, but now I’m thinking about it! Maybe a nice spring green.
I am one of those knitters who likes to base my colours depending on the time of the year. In the spring it’s usually greens and blues. Summer pastels and bright colours. Autumn oranges, reds and golden colours and the winter darks with a pop of colour. But if I see something which speaks to me I’ll use it
What a beautiful selection! I prefer lighter colours in spring – blues (as ever), lilac/lavender (still working on my Giselle), greens, ecru, yellow. I’m even experimenting with pink :o)
Happy Spring (or Autumn) Celebrations to all –
Dorthe
I just like to knit and crochet in colours that I like year round, or if I’m making something for someone else, then the colours they like. Anything goes, as far as I’m concerned. The yarn colours in this giveaway are perfect!
I craft with whatever colors work with the pattern I’m making or whatever grabs my attention. I love spring colors in fall and winter, too. 🙂
I crochet, but I’m also practicing a little bit of knitting. Why not both? 😀 I like most colors all year round, but mostly gem & paintbox styles of color.
I crochet all year, no preferences to colors at any time though indo get distracted and start new project whenever I see a new pattern or get new yarn! Blue is my favorite color so I definitely tend to use a lot of blues, teals, and turquoise shades
Chandi, I knit and crochet. I don’t change colors by season, just keep working on my next favorite project but I am aware that it will be months before it is ready to wear so it makes sense to work on something for fall in the spring and vice versa. My favorite colors are teal, seaglass, and plum. I also like burnt orange and blue for fall.
Lighter, brighter color projects…usually ready to knit about February! Once I get my Happy Color fix working, alllll the colors are knitted (or crocheted).
Beautiful selection of yarn, as always! So inspiring!
I like to crochet with light weight yarns, lace and fingering, in the spring and summer. Colors I use tend to be lighter, without much gray or black.
Crochet and knitting are both great! I especially like learning new techniques and trying different fibres! I love yellow and pink together and all the different colours of spring!
Thank you for so much inspiration!
Doreen
I forever to knit… The Colours are magic… soooo Beauty
I love blue and teal but lately I’ve been drawn towards pink and lemon, maybe it’s the spring effect. I have however realised I dont have any clothes that have pink or lemon in 🤣 I’ll have to sort that out!
This month’s colours and photos are particularly lovely 😍
Wow, Chandi! The colors in this giveaway are absolutely gorgeous! 😍 My go-to spring color is always Robin’s Egg Blue. It’s just so cheery! 💙
Crochet is my thing but knitting is calling out to me lately. Once someone told me I looked like an exploded rainbow so that says enough on how I like colours. In Spring pink, lilac, orange, yellow and fresh or soft light greens are more dancing in my eyes. And the lighter weights that dance and flow like the melted waterflows and tender new leaves and buds are more speaking to me.
Hi, I really love lavenders and teals supplemented by light spring greens and also all blossom colors. They make me happy :-).
I’m a knitter. I don’t really change the colors I use with the season, but I have definite color preferences for anything I make for myself — usually some variant of aqua/teal.
I knit, but I like to use color all year round. I do switch to lighter weight yarns in the spring and summer
I crochet with whatever color strikes my fancy at rhe time. I don’t think I’m influence by the weather in my projects becauseim mostly making gifts for others. I do however like to wear brighter colors in rhe spring so if I ever getting around to making things for myself maybe I will use more “springy” colors.
I loved to obsessively crochet regardless of the color or season. 🙋🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
I hope that you’re having a lovely weekend. Today, as it is my daughter’s birthday, I’m all about the bright jewel type colours! (My brain is confused this morning and thinks that I’ve enterred a giveaway recently… obviously need a coffee that isn’t decaffinated! 🙂 )
I love both knitting and crocheting for different reasons
I’ve been knitting for a little less than 50 years and the muscle memory leaves basic knit / purl and combos almost automatic. I can watch television, hold a conversation and truly relax into the rhythm of stitching, my hands are busy and my mind can multitask but I am relaxed
Crochet is a relatively new skill, maybe about 10 years in the practice and I still very much need to have full focus on what I am doing, but it brings more instant gratification since the growth of fabric and the freedom to vary stitches and textures is much greater. Also if stress and anxiety are an issue it enables my brain to switch off and truly focus on my hands creating art.
I love colourwork, autumn mixes and pastels in particular , but my heart sings for blues and creams like the old willow pattern on crockery, or a pale blue sky with misty clouds
I find your videos particularly relaxing and inspiring because your soul sings your joy of crafting and that elevates your ideas into my own dreams
Thank you for all that you do.
I used to knit constantly but was always interested in crocheting. However, being a left-handed crocheter, I could never find a person to teach me how to crochet, that is, until my late daughter who was right-handed sat me across from her and told me to do the same as she was doing. I will forever be indebted to her for that. I am going to be 80 on the 14th and can no longer crochet doll clothes, but still enjoy crocheting baby clothes as well as throws, shawls, and bedspreads. At some point this summer I am going to try my hand at a beautiful pattern for palazzo pants for myself (2nd childhood). I have never tried making anything for myself before.
I absolutely love your colourways and wish I could afford to fill my stash with your yarns but along with the cost of your yarns and the exchange I have to pay to turn Canadian money into American money, with shipping, etc., the total price is prohibitive. I live solely on old age pension, which leaves precious little for personal ‘pleasures’. Be advised, though, if my financial situation ever changes, I will be your number one customer.
Keep those beautiful colours and exotic yarn blends coming. One of these days I will be purchasing some.
Happy and Blessed Easter.
Carolyne.
I took up knitting about a year ago, and restarted my crocheting as well which I put aside for a while. I went through a phase of just using any yarn, to learn various techniques and try different patterns. But now that I’m more comfortable with my skills, I am trying to figure out “my” colours and styles. There’s so much to learn and experiment with!
I choose my colors and projects based on the season. Crocheting using beautiful, soft pastels in pink, blue and green. Perhaps making a spring wrap or top.
I enjoy both. But currently crocheting because my needles are in storage waiting to be used once we move into our new home. I’ve never used your yarn, if I’m being honest because I’m afraid. That’s a me problem and I shouldn’t be scared, but do not want to mess up the yarn. They’re too beautiful.
I knit with the colors that suits my fancy that day.
I’ve been crocheting for a few years now, and just picked up knitting last fall. I love both so much! I can’t say at this point that I prefer one over the other, but I do like to alternate between projects to keep things fresh. As for colours, blue is my favourite, but living in Canada the winters can get long so I long for something fresh in the spring. Now I find myself drawn to colours like mint green and blush pink. Anything that is fresh and ultra feminine is my go-to for spring!
I only know how to crochet but have dabbled in learning to knit. I love pastels and light brights for spring after dull winters.
I prefer to knit and am dabbling in crochet and can needle felting a little also.
I usually alter between knitting and crochet, love them both. I love colours, and don’t think I use any specific color just because it’s spring, if I’m not making something for someone else. Mostly lighter yarn weights though.
I love knitting with blues, like denim, green’s, turquoise, spruce , Grey and speckles!!! Spring and speckles go together like 🥜 peanut butter and jelly , 🧀 cheese and crackers!!!
I crochet all year round, as I have arthritis in my hands. The colours I choose depends entirely on the project, I don’t really have a seasonal preference. Thankyou for the opportunity to enter your latest giveaway 💕
Good luck everyone!
The colors I use in my knitting and crochet depend on the recipient of what I am creating rather than the time of year
I mainly like knitting with fall-y colors in autumn. Spring is pretty general (though I think that if I wore more pink, it would have been soft blues and pinks…)
I love to crochet and knit using all colors year round!
I love to knit socks all year round. So I could sure use that sock yarn. I have no particular colours for the seasons.
Spring means pastels to me. Lilac and yellow seem to be Easter colors to me.
Crochet for me. I have not been able to develop the knitting muscle memory but I have not given up! My color choices usually involve greens and pinks. If I am creating for a specific person then it is all about their preferences. Happy Spring to everyone!
Love knitting… I’m trying to refresh my memory and crochet. I love all your yarns. The colors of spring are refreshing. I tend to gravitate towards seasonal colors and change. Than you and your team for all you do!
Happy Glorious Spring!! Knitting is my go-to therapy and this time of the year I prefer to make projects with the colors I see outside – spring greens and blues from the sky and sea.
I like to work with not only lighter colors, but the occasional vibrant ones as well – and I prefer the lightweight yarns in particular. I don’t feel I have a very good eye for coordinating colors, and I think that is why I enjoy your photos so much. I’ve always had an appreciation of photography, and things out in nature – and when you tie that together with the subject of yarn…..well there you have it! You guys always provide inspiration with your photos. Thank you (and Tim as well!). I do feel yellow is quite clean and refreshing; however, I rarely find myself using it. I think it’s because I’m never sure how to coordinate it with other colors. I think that is something I will focus on a bit more and see what I discover!! Happy Spring everyone!! 🌷
I love undyed natural fiber, or creamy white, to knit, crochet, and weave!
I prefer to use pastel colours in the spring to go with what’s happening in my garden.
I’m a knitter first and then I will pick up some crochet if the mood strikes me. I love working with light blue shades in the spring. Thanks for the chance to win such lovely yarns!
I tend to be drawn to pinks and purples. I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone and experiment with bolder colors.
I love to use bold, bright colors all year round. In the warmer months they match the world outside and in the dark, dreary winter months they help to brighten things up.
I crochet, usually with a bright or jewel tone color way. I very much appreciate that EFA recognizes rocket on par with knitting; many shops make crochet seem like an afterthought.
Congratulations, Pamela!
I used to wear only blue, all year round. And although now my wardrobe is a palette of blues and pinks with greys, creams, taupes and whites mixed in, I am attracted to ALL colours since playing with wool (knitting, crochet, spinning, dyeing…)!! Except neon!! The above giveaway is perfect for my current live a way from home’ wardrobe!!
I prefer knitting Colorwork, although I do crochet, cross-stitch, embroidery, quilt & I am teaching myself to spin on a drop spindle .
I am currently in Sock Madness 17 on Ravelry knitting socks which are my favorite summer knitting! All kinds of socks for all of my various family & friends in all the colors. This months giveaway has beautiful blues, golds, purples! Oh my these colors are all perfect for spring!!
I love knitting with your yarns especially resilient sock. I’ve been thinking of trying your silk blend for socks if I win the silk blended would be knit first! Squee!! What a great gift basket of Yummo ness! Thank you Chandi for this opportunity to get some of these scrumptious skeins!
I’m primarily a crocheted with an occasional foray into knitting. I tend to work with 4 and 5 weight and want to try use finer yarn. I tend to prefer cooler colors for me but I’m usually working on stuff for others so I’m working with all sorts of colors. 😊 I’ve got an afghan on the hook in yellow, seafoam, blue and white for one of my nieces. Always fun!
I don’t play favorites with colour. It’s whatever tickles me in the moment when I start a new project. I’m all for de-colourcoding the seasons. I want to be bold! Not blend in!
Hi Chandi – I’m a knitter. I go to lighter versions of the colors to which I am always drawn: blues, purples, some pinks, a little green. Your ‘Blue Hyacinth’ is a perfect example and I adore the socks I made from it. I also love a soft combo of pink and orange; it’s really the only time I like orange! The giveaway looks lovely; although I don’t wear yellow much I have learned that you need a little warm color in with the cool or it’s too cool.
Je tricote seulement, le crochet ce n’est pas pour moi … j’ai essayé mais non.
La combinaison de couleurs des laines pour ce coucours d’avril est absolument de toute beauté.
Merci !
I love to knit and also weaving. All of your yarn is oh so lovely and easy to work with. My favorite colors are the deep purples and the white with teal. I use to only work with thicker yarn but you have gotten me to start using much thinner yarns. Thank you for all you and your husband and staff do.
I knit or crochet by project, so the colors need to work within the overall result. I select the next project that appeals to me independent of season, color, etc. Such a lovely group of yarn, thank you!
Hi Chandi. The colors in this giveaway are exquisite and remind me of the beautiful waters of the Caribbean. I do more crocheting than knitting, but this group of colors works wonderfully for either craft. Thank you for your generosity and love to all of your followers! Mary
I have just learnt to crochet in the last few months while my husband was in hospital for 5 weeks so lots of squares . A scarf and ear warmer I have made so far
. It is sooo relaxing tho and I wish I had mastered this earlier .Your website is so inspiring
These colors breathe Spring and new birth. Stunning!
Not in purpose, but now you asked about that, it is true that my spring knitting is full of corals, fuchsias, and brighter hues of blues and greens.
I hadn’t realized that!!! 😅😄
These days I’m knitting but several
Of your crochet patterns have me wanting to bust out the hooks again!
I knit & crochet, always working on something and do both very slowly 🤦🏻♀️ I’m working on that also. 😝 Love spring colors
I love to crochet and knit. Although I’m still a beginner knitter. In the spring I don’t have a preference on what colors I choose. I guess it just depends on what I’m making and who it’s for. I absolutely love most colors ❤️.
Both! I’m far more advanced with crochet. I turn to yarn for stress relief and relaxation. I work on projects all year, but have very little time during tax season. A week in a half left, and I’m free for fun projects with this gorgeous lot of yarn!!! Oh, happiness!!!!
Thanks for another wonderful giveaway, Chandi. I love your yarn and as I live in the Caribbean, I prefer to work with lighter weight yarns. I just love colour and always tend to knit or crochet with brighter colours rather than dark. Also, it is more difficult to see your stitches when the yarn is dark! Thanks again for the lovely yarn and patterns.
These colors are gorgeous! I don’t have certain colors to knit or crochet with at any season change. The fiber content would be the change for spring/summer knitting.
I absolutely love the colors! Your yarn is always soft and beautiful against the skin! A delight to use.
Hello from Alaska!! I prefer to knit and love all colors. You have the most gorgeous yarns I have ever seen. I so enjoy your weekly emails with your messages, patterns and yarn.
Blue and teal are my go to not just for spring but all year long. However, I am trying “to broaden my horizons” with out color choices as well in 2023. I think spring time colors are the perfect time to do it. Your yarn is beautiful!
Good Morning Chandi. I both knit and crochet but it depends on the project and my frame of mine. When I’m distracted I prefer crochet as it is more forgiving of mistakes. As for color, I usually lean toward strong colors, jewel tones…but as an artist I love all colors and all shades.
Until I learn to knit, I love to crochet. Spring means purple and greens to me. Your yarns are gorgeous on all the colors.
I love to knit and crochet. I’ll use whatever color I can get my hands on wherever I am at, but if I had my choice of all the colors in the world I would choose any color or shade of turquoise any time of the year at all.
I am a knitter! I love all of those colors
I love to knit. I love those light colours. Such nice projects to come.
I knit and crochet, usually more crochet. I love making things, especially for other people and whatever color appeals to me. Spring seems more for softer and lighter colors, but the only colors I don’t care for are neons, lol.
I knit every day, if possible, and for spring I’d love a light raspberry pink. I just finished a spring sweater that’s light lilac. Can’t wait to get something new on my needles.
I prefer to knit, and I choose colors based on who is getting the FO.
Thank you for your uplifting emails! Your fibers are beautiful and the pattern ideas are much appreciated.
I knit only. Just finished a shawl in DK weight hand dyed merino..
What great colors and yarn bases you have in this collection. I am a person who knits every day and these colors are sure in my list of favorites. Enough of some for a sweater and several shawls along with socks and other goodies to put on my needles. I cross my fingers every month and hopefully this might be the one. Thank you for doing this for us.
Hi there Chandi,
I have watched you grow your business ever since you were up north. I recently ordered 3 skeins of Copper Dewey DK. It is so beautiful and so soft. I use to crochet but now my hands are getting too bad so I don’t anymore. But I had to have some of your yarn because I am going to try the Loom knitting. I’ve made some small things but I really want a shawl so will try that with the Copper Yarn. Any color is beautiful. I am 74 and a widow of 12 years now and always read your emails. They have given me so much comfort through the years. You are an amazing person.
I definitely lean towards colors in the medium to light blue and purple range in the spring and summer vs. deeper shades in fall and winter. Also lighter weight yarn – lace or sock vs DK or worsted.
Hello Chandi!
All your models are absolutely beautiful and inspiring.
I love to knit or crochet with warm colors like yellow, orange or with light colors.
Right now, I’m knitting the Presence shawl…
This time of year inspires me to craft with brighter colors and lighter yarns.
I just learning crochet. I also knit. I prefer lighter weight yarns this time of year. No specific colors😊
I just keep going with what I have on the go, my time to knit or crochet is limited so it’s usually whatever I didn’t finish yet lol. I usually have a larger “home” project and a smaller travel project like socks for on-the-go
I love cool pinks, lilacs, charcoal, and soft beiges any time of year and my purchasing history here decibel backs that up, but in spring I find myself craving greens and pale blue as well.
I’m currently feeling very tempted to go find that white with teal flecks, even though I easily have enough projects to last me through next winter
I especially love to crochet and knit with turquoise, lilac, lime green, pastel colors, and jewel tones in spring – lots of color!
I’m pretty 50/50! Though I have been leaning a lot more towards teals and neutrals lately color-wise
I crochet! No specific colors really, but I do tend to work with much lighter yarns when the weather gets warmer. I also do fewer big blankets and do more smaller projects to keep from getting hot. Have a lovely day! 🥰
I love the colors! I can knit, but usually crochet.
I crochet, but would love to learn to knit. It is on my list of things to do when I retire in a year or two. In the meantime, I’m collecting plenty of EFA yarn and knit patterns when they come up for free so that I can revisit them when I have more time. In the meantime, I typically have 3 crochet projects going at all times and do a little each day. I adore spring and greens of any ethereal shade are my favorites.
I can only knit. Solid black yarn would have to be the absolute WORST color, as I thought I would go blind when I tried to knit with it. I really love variegated yarns to see a pattern emerge as I knit. You have some gorgeous yarn colors. Seeing your emails with the yarns to match the pictures makes me go “Wow”.
I don’t have a color preference for any season. Whatever strikes me as fitting a pattern is what I go with.
Love to knit and crochet with a variety of colors at any time and do not stick with seasonal colors. That image is so beautiful with all the dreamy yarn. It is so inspiring.
I love knitting shawls. No particular color for spring – just something light after the dark colors of winter.
Knitting is my favorite with colors in soft blues, peaches, & greens for Spring.
Hi Chandi, I love Easter egg colors for the Spring. I prefer to crochet light weight yarns and knit from dk up to bulky.
I love all things fiber! I crochet and knit. I’ve just begun spinning yarn as well.
I like all colors! Just depends on the project.
I’m a knitter, and love ALL the colors. I gravitate to greens, as they’re my favorite, but work with all of them, as each has something different to say.
Your colors are always so beautiful, and I love the inspiration photos you share when developing your color ways. Thanks for the amazing yarn!
I love to knit all year long. I love the deep purple colors in your spring box, but you always inspire me with your photos and matching yarn.
I don’t have any special colours for any season when I crochet, I just choose whatever colour I like.
I am obsessed with both crocheting and knitting and since I discovered your beautiful yarn, I am even more obsessed with all yarn things. Thank you Chandi, have a Happy Easter!
I dont really change up colors by season, i love to work year-round in random shades and hues that draw my eye and fit a pattern ive been eyeballing. The richer and more vibrant the color, the happier i am. Much prefer something that isnt perfectly one solid shade though, i love seeing little undertones and highlights run through even single hued yarns.
I love knitting and crocheting with any colors all year long, no presence based on the season.
For spring, I love all of the pastels, and some brighter colors mixed in. Blues, roses, yellows, greens, purples – they’re all good!
You are loved and appreciated for your generosity and creativity! Thank you, Chandi! And, WOW! Tim is awesome at staging those gorgeous yarns!
Such beautiful colors make my heart sing!
I love to knit. I love the stitches that are created with knit. I love bright Spring colors. The pinks, blues, yellows and greens all draw me in ❤️
Right now I’m working on a Jane Thornley vest in soft dusty pink, dusty blues, and muted violets. My color choices are definitely defined by our upcoming spring!
I enjoy both knitting and crochet, but lean more toward knitting lately… trying to learn more techniques. My lifelong favorite color is purple, all shades and tints of it make me happy. I am ready to knit a lovely dark purple sweater for Spring. so ready!
I love pinks and purples for spring and both knit and crochet.
I don’t have a preference on the colors I use in the spring. It usually depends on what project I’m currently making. I tend to knit and crochet all kinds of projects throughout the year, so the time of year doesn’t dictate what color I’m using.
I don’t have particular colors for seasons – I’m more likely to switch to lighter weight yarns or cotton or linen in the Spring. I choose my colors based on the project and I tend to lean toward neutrals and dark rich colors. I don’t like pastels.
I love to crochet with a variety of greens. They remind me of all the bright colors of new tree growth, the wide leaves of tulips, and the spring grass as it fills in my yard. Thank you for the opportunity to win some of your incredible yarn.
I do both knit and crochet, but right now I am into crochet. I have been looking at crocheted bags for the summer and will soon have to make a decision on which pattern to try. I love ombre colored yarn and depending on the mood bright colors. I also love good color blends that have been developed by dyers and pattern designers.
Easter greetings! I crochet and my favorite color is the exact shade of the 13 skeins in this giveaway! The entire bundle is astounding and I would love to win it!
I am so amazed at what the two of you do. You two have so much energy and ideas I wonder if you ever find time to sleep.
I prefer to knit but am recently crocheting a lot! These colours are stunnng and make my heart happy :). I love teals, purples, lavenders, greens mostly!
I knit all year long. I don’t have a preferred color palette for spring.
I knit, But I haven’t noticed that I pick up different colors to work with in the spring. I tend to knit with more neutral colors so that I can wear them with many outfits. As I get older I am gravitating towards more color.
I love to knit. Some of my favourite colours to knit with in the spring are pastel colours. But love blues and teals and purples. I think it depends on the project. Happy Easter!
I crochet although learning to knit is on my bucket list. But let’s be real, there are skeins of yarn in my bucket between now and learning to knit at the bottom of the bucket! I think it’s because I only want to be responsible for one stitch on my hook at a time. I am drawn to corals but have learned so much about color schemes from your website! Showing the finished project from the yarn shown is so eye 👀 eye opening! Thank you!
I’ll admit, I’m more of a crocheted. With three kids, it’s crucial that I can put a project down and not worry too much about it unraveling or falling off the needles. I love using deep colors or bright colors (think dark green or red and then pinks and purple and yellows for bright ones)
I’m a knitter., altho do crochet – I’m not sure I have a color preference, (altho definitely not black) – I do tend to knit more with teals & autumn colors
I knit and crochet, and like to work with bright colors regardless of the time of year, so unless I’ve got a specific project where I’m using a specific color palette, bright and spring-y is my go-to! About 3/4 of my stash is bright or pastel at the moment.
🙂 I crochet and while all of the colors shown in the photo are beautiful, I think the blues are my favorite.
I don’t really have colour preferences by season; I tend to like blues, reds, and purples, but will switch up the colours if I’m knitting a gift or home goods.
I love working with lighter weight yarns in Spring. I love vibrant colors.
I am an avid crotchetier and am always lookin for new inspiration. I love all the colors you guys come up with. This month’s giveaway reminds me of a waterfall hidden away in a glen with mother nature splashing secret colors of the flowers out there to entice the eye. This would work perfectly into a crocheted afghan, little light and airy coverlet or a cute summer sweater.
Good morning!
I find myself knitting in brighter colors in the spring, and rainbows. I just need color after a long, dark winter.
I’ve been crocheting since elementary school, so it’s still my preference. I didn’t try knitting until my mid 30s.
I love both knitting and crocheting, and during warmer months I also like to weave. Lighter weight yarns, cottons, bamboo, blends are great. The colors in this month’s giveaway are beautiful.
Love to crochet, specially afghans, it’s meditative and calming for me. Love all colors, depends on my mood when I pick up the new project
You have the most amazing yarn and the colors are the best. I have found no other yarn that even comes close. Thank you for all the beautiful patterns send out as well. You’re the best!!
I mainly love to knit in the spring, but when I see all those absolutely gorgeous colours you have this month, all I can think of is a beautiful colorful crochet blanket (you know because the evenings can still be cool).
For my daily knitting, I like working with lighter colors and yarns. I’m current working in a warm light reddish brown ochre–almost done, and it’s taken me the better part of two years to finish this cardigan.
Hi, I love to crochet; it has become a therapy for me. My favorite yarn to use is all-natural and with varied colors.
I love to crochet with springtime pastels, especially pinks and lavenders!
I tend to knit long-ish-term projects, so I don’t really choose particular colours for the Spring. But if I eventually start doing smaller projects, I might!
I knit and crochet and do macrame. I just love literally all colors. I believe that heaven is full of infinite colors we could never imagine here on earth. I am always looking for a new color combination to uplift my spirits and then share it with others. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤍🤎💗
I love to crochet. It is relaxing and soothing. I like lots of different colors but usually Leah towards pastels and turquoise.
Hi Chandi, I love to knit. The colorways you chose for the giveaway are absolutely perfect. I love the cool shades. Thanks.
I love to knit more than crochet but am trying to relearn how. I love mostly purple tones but have started branching out into yellows and greens so I guess at this point the only color I haven’t or don’t use is orange but if it’s blended into something hand painted I used it too. Your colors and patters are lovely.
I crochet right now but I am going to teach myself how to knit. I love all spring colors. Hoping that I win as it will give me more colors to work with.. Love your patterns, they are so interesting.
I crochet with anything that I have. Anything that sparks my interest or things that I’d like to make for someone else. One of these days I’ll learn to knit.
I’m noticing that I prefer to use lighter colors in the spring, as opposed to the rich gemstone colors I usually gravitate toward.
I love to knit and crochet with a speckled yarn in the spring.
I prefer crochet but I have been drawn to knitting patterns lately. I tend to stick to bold colors, jewel tones, mostly blues and purples, but I have been trying to push beyond that bias.
Hi Chandi, I both crochet & knit, pretty much all year long. Quick fact… your video was one of the first instructional videos I watched when learning to knit. Thank you 😊 During spring and summer I enjoy lighter colors or vibrant cool colors (pinks, yellows, blues, greens, teal, coral, magenta) oh my! I am getting so excited thinking about all the beautiful yarn 🥰
Alas, I only crochet (for now!). However, your recent Embassor, bolero style design, makes me sooo happy I do crochet!! I’ve downloaded the pattern and it’s in my ‘to-do’ file. Like other commentors, I absolutely love your yarns and your colors. I would have a hard time deciding between all of them. Thank you so much, even if I can’t afford to purchase right now – I’m saving up!
I love pinks and greens anytime of the year, but especially in the spring. I love knitting and crocheting with different colors for each season. I’m not very good at decorating, so working with different yarns each season is my way of celebrating each holiday.
I switch to knitting with brighter colors in the spring. Love pink and coral colors right now.
I rarely crochet, but I am an avid knitter and love your yarns! I am so impressed with the inspiration photos that you use for the yarns and am drawn to the warm yellows and grays. Since I am a reddish color, I tend to go with fall colors year around but love the springy greens this time of year!
In the spring, I always intend to crochet items made of the vibrant, lighter blues, greens, yellows and pinks that remind me of spring flowers. I don’t necessarily do it, though! 😉
Hello and Happy Spring! I knit, mostly. Crochet rarely. I love color, especially brights year round. Spring finds me checking what lighter weight tops (and bottoms) need replacing, reworking or finishing. My fave color is any variation or red violet.
I love all cool colors; I seem to migrate to those the most. I love your yarn and how smoothly it is to work with. I have used sport, DK, and fingerling. I like that they do not split while using them. I have had many yarns split on me. I mostly crochet, and I may venture to try knitting. It has been many years since I had crochet and in the last 3 months, I have picked it up again.
I love to knit year round! I am after patterns with texture, that to me have a story. Then I look for a color that highlights that story, something that I would enjoy seeing in my hands. More than once this has led to me knitting a heavy sweater in the middle of summer, but I love the whole process so it’s worth it.
I pick my thread colors based on the pattern that I want to knit. So, the season doesn’t impact my knitting at all. My purchase history indicates that generally I lean toward taupe colors in lighter, rather than dark, shades but recently I am beginning to be drawn toward darker, moodier colors. Could it be that my “season” is changing? LOL
I don’t knit with specific colors in spring – just whatever jumps out to me from the yarn stash.
I don’t have any particular colors for certain seasons.
Love all these responses, but I believe Chandi is asking not if you prefer to knit or crochet, but when you knit or crochet in the spring, do you prefer specific colors? I think we all have visions of spring colors in mind during the season, but I actually find I work more with darker colors in spring and summer because I have enough daylight to see my work better! I usually crochet and knit outdoors in natural light (and for the vitamin D).
As I crochet, I tend to gravitate towards purples, & blues which are abundant in this giveaway. Happy Easter
I love all things yarn, but am most adept at crochet. Give me a hook and yarn in any shade of pink or turquoise, and I’m a happy camper!!
I knit and crochet all year long. While I choose different colors for different projects for me, my friends and family, my very favorite (all year long) is PINK!
I enjoy both knitting and crochet in the spring. Both have some really fun applications. For colors, I enjoy the brighter, more saturated than pastel ones.
I’m an avid knitter and love colors. Your picks for this month are gorgeous and would make lovely items, both singly and combined.
I love Robin egg blue for spring. I’m a confident knitter. I want to get better at crochet.
Knitting!! I knit every day … I have multiple projects on the needles. Different colors, textures and patterns can be knitted depending on the energy of the day!
Hello on this Easter morning. I knit and weave. Your colorways are lovely. My choices are usually pinks, yellows, purples and blues.
Knitting is what I do, it brings me joy, it helps calm me, it keeps my hands busy and it can challenge my mind, all things I need at some point. I love greens and yellows mainly for spring and summer knits, but with that being said I am constantly surprised at colors that call my name.
I love to crochet with lighter colors in the spring (using darker colors as accents). Then I use darker colors in the winter (with lighter colors as accents).
I knit with colors that complement my skin tones year round. Those are gorgeous colors in the giveaway bundle!
I crochet with a dream to learn to knit. I love blues at all times of the year but have learned to go out side the colors i lean towards and use other colors because they turn out so beautiful! I love variegated yarns because its a mystery how they work up. This color pallet for April’s giveaway gives me a neat victorian vibe that i absolutely love!! You’ve done it again! I could stare at Tims pictures all the time as they are beautiful.
Oh my word, I love those teals and blues…..teal because it goes with other colors easily -and- it’s my favorite color. I’m already thinking of what summery projects I can knit or crochet with these beautiful yarns. I’m sure my 6 grands & 4 great-grands will help a bit with those decisions. ha! Thank you, Chandi, for this wonderful giveaway.
I knit or crochet daily and quilt and sew as well. I love all colors all the time, although lately I have been gravitating toward marled or gradient yarns, more than solids.
I love to knit and crochet. I’ll use whatever color I can get my hands on wherever I am at, but if I had my choice of all the colors in the world I would choose any color or shade of turquoise any time of the year at all.
Hello I mostly knit but when I have a baby blanket to make I Tunisian crochet these colors are right up my alley!
I am a devout knitter, can’t go one day without knitting. I’m a collector of yarn. I love to mix colors and even the boring colors are needed to make the vibrant ones pop. My big interest is sock knitting but I sidetrack a lot too, I’ve made several of your beautiful shawl patterns. I always have more than one project going.
I love knitting with spring greens, lilac, and yellow during spring!
I love to crochet and in the spring I like to use lighter shades of colors. I also like to use the colors I see outside or in all the different flowers that come in New England this time of year.
I don’t have a preference for colors in spring but I have noticed spring makes me want to start ALL the new projects. Especially if it’s a little bit more challenging.
Hello! I knit and crochet. I don’t think I change things up colorwise based on the season. I want bright and happy colors all year around 🙂
I am mesmerized by your color palette. I am a crocheter, tatter, beginner knitter, and all round craft nut. I would be thrilled to win this giveaway; but even if I do not, I will be viewing your videos. I am awe-struck by your work.
Hi Chandi
I want to thank you for the joy and light that comes to my heart everytime i have an e-mail from Expression Fiber Arts.
You, your words, Tim’s talent and all of your team and of course the fibers!, bring light to my days, unfailingly. Even the ones that don’t make to my home.
Thank you for sharing all of you gifts with all of us.
I crochet and knit all year round. My color selection is limited in the main colors to colors from my color palette. So I feel later in the created parts also comfortable, because I know exactly that these fit me in color. With you, however, I always find what I’m looking for. And the colors from the April Give-Away fit exactly into my palette 😉
I don’t normally pick colours for seasons, but I really want to start something using dusky pinks and greens at the moment
I do like lighter colors in the spring, preparing for summer. All pinks and greens and blues.
I love all shades of blue, all year.
At the moment I knit and try all kind of sock patterns.
Still working on my first sweater (actually ripped and started over!) … will probably be working on this FOREVER!
Hello, Chandi!
Knitting is my craft of choice, just ahead of quilting at present. Turquoise seems to be the essential spring color, with the same pink in your April yarn giveaway as a close second. I’ve got a baby blue sweater on my needles right now. Happy knitting to you!
I knit and crochet, but I enjoy knitting the best. I love most colors. I will choose a couple of colors that I love, then I see one of your different colored
yarns and fall in love with that…
Wow, such beautiful yarn! I am a crocheter and I crochet every single day. It keeps me calm.
I used to crochet a lot, but once I learned how to knit, that’s all I want to do. Spring is my favorite time of the year. I so enjoy seeing the flowers bloom and veggie seedlings emerge. Spring means yellows, pinks, lavenders, and greens to me.
Lighter and brighter colors and lighter yarns in spring and summer 😁
Hi Chandi!
Wow! What gorgeous colorways!! And my favorite yarn weights…I love to knit with these weights, but injured my left hand a few years ago and now crochet more. Would love to create something gorgeous from this trove of beautiful spring colors!
Happy Spring, Chandi & Tim and the whole EFA team!!! It is a gorgeous sunny day here in Wisconsin and I’ve got all the doors and windows open. I used to only know how to crochet and was jealous of knitters’ coordination. Then I watched Chandi’s video for absolute beginners and I finally learned!!!! So when spring comes around, I gravitate towards knitting and lighter yarns – any color as long as it’s light and bright. Thank you for all the joy you bring to the world!!!! <3
Happy Spring and Easter Sunday
Thank you for your giveaway. I love these colors.
I am a big fan of Teals and Blues and Sage green. these remind me of ocean waters. I like burgundies too. I also have been playing with contrasts. teal or blue & white, I recently bought the Amal colors and realized that my crochet shawl has “too many and too intense” dark colors – I couldn’t find a color design pattern I liked using these colors – I may restart the project or find a way to tone it down. Any suggestions on a pattern that will make is less intense – I have one skein of a pale neutral color? (I had tried to order another lighter color, but then the color ran out. 😟)
I also love the varied colors such as in something like in ‘Worth’. perfect for Spring – Botanical colors are happy and joyful, like flowers blooming and birds chirping.
I crochet and knit and I try to have a project of one and the other going at once so I keep familiar with both techniques. knit can be tighter and lighter when using finer weights, though crochet is more open and breathable, but seems bulky. I am often looking for crochet stitches that have the softness of knitting, since it is faster to crochet for me and as others agree, less difficult to fix mistakes.
my little knitted vest using Vellum turned into a mess of removing several (about 30 or 50) rows because my count was off in one section. (Even though I have stitch markers and thought I was paying attention to five purls / five knits for five rows at a time. which then morphs into the triangles)
By the way, a lesson on trying to catch the correct stitches in a row when it is not one knit stitch across the row, since it can be hard to tell what to pickup when the stitch type changes rolling back to redo part of a project, would be *very* helpful!!
Thank you again! Enjoy!!
I knit mostly, I kind of know how to crochet, but nothing fancy. I do like to use seasonal inspired colours, but I also sometimes will just go with whatever colours feel right at the time!
I like crochet and in spring the colors your yellow and pink on the pictures, and periwinkle, lavender, baby blue and seagreen
I prefer to crochet and knit lighter colors in the spring. I’m currently working on a light blue swim suit sarong
Brighter, happy colors are what I go for after a long winter especially. This year it’s definitely all the bright, happy aqua, green, and golden shades. 🙂
In the Spring I love to crochet with bright, limey green!
I’m an equal opportunity knitter as far as color is concerned. I tend to go for stronger, brighter tones no matter what time of year I’m knitting
I definitely gravitate more towards pastels or lighter colors in the spring!
I knit or crochet with whatever colors strike my fancy at the time, any time of year.
I LOVE bright colors – all bright colors – but in spring I turn to a few pink/green/yellow/lt blue pastels for a few airy knit or crocheted shawls. So uplifting!
Thank you for this generous giveaway. I’m gobsmacked trying to figure out what I’d do with all that!
Love blues and yellows in cotton and linen
I knit and crochet with whatever I have, generally, but both bright and soft spring colors are always high on the list!
So excited for this giveaway!
I usually choose colors based on who the project will be given to. However, lighter colors in the spring make me happy! I’d love a kit with some lighter, springier greens. Lighter, brighter greens are hard to find in yarn.
Brighter colors (coral, turquoise, violet) as well as neutrals (bone, navy) appeal to me for spring and summer knitting. I also like brighter multi-colored and speckled yarns, especially for socks and accessories.
I like to knit with any pastel colors in the spring time!!!
Wow, I can’t even imagine winning a givaway yarn package like this! It’s like a dream come true! I entered! I love all colors especially blues, neutrals, any any others. I love crocheting most of all but will do a little sometimes. All weights of yarn are wonderful. I’m so glad I found your channel. So many beautiful things. Thank you for everything you do for everyone. Take care.
I go with whatever colors I like best at the moment — in fall, I gravitate to orange/green/purple, but most of the year it’s blues and purples.
I am a crocheter who is also a color junkie – haven’t met a color I did not like. I am picturing the above assortment of colors combined in a motif mosaic throw. Those are some lovely yarns, and I would be thrilled to pieces to be the lucky winner! You are incredibly generous. Thank you!
And congratulations to Pamela Ogston on scoring last month’s bounty.
All I do is crochet…for now anway! Lately, I’m loving the combination of deep teal and shades of pink with a little delicate green thrown in maybe.
I love pastel colors in spring.
I love both crochet and knitting. Once you get into that rhythm with a new pattern cares, just seem to fall away. I’ve only been knitting a couple of years now self-taught. Watched hours and hours a Videos. That’s when I fell in love with Chandi. I love the feel of the yarn and watching the projects come together whatever it may be.
Hi Chandi, Your quotes from poetry are as exquisite as your yarns. My memories of my mother spinning cotton into yarn is lasting and loving. I’m attending Weaving 101 to learn the basics. Your background in the fiber arts from fleecing dyeing spinning knitting crocheting weaving & more is very impressive and inspiring. I’m 71 & at an age where I cannot rely on an uninterrupted life. Therefore I’ve been speeding through a lot of things I wanted to do but couldn’t. Hopefully I will set a continuing legacy of my parents in everything they did to make this world better for a lot of people. My Spring colors are Daffodil yellow, Pistachio green, Dusky Rose Pink, Lavender. My summer colors are Mustard, Aqua, Teal, SeaGreenBlue, Linen, Off White, Cream, Violet (medium). So many shades that are so very lovely like Monet’s watercolors.
Take care.
This is a marvelous grouping of colors, yarn and flowers. (Well, probably the flowers aren’t included.) All I can say is, you have staged some gorgeous photo shots!
I knit and I crochet. I love to do both, but I’m starting to crochet more than I have in the past. I will use any color, but especially if I like the way it feels. This spring, I foresee myself crocheting with your beautiful yarns. Except if I’m knitting with them….
I like pastels and jewel tones, predominantly. I knit for others and use their favorite colors, too!
I love to knit and crochet – color depends more on what I’m making and for who, than on the seasons 😉
I love all shades of green.
I love to both knit and crochet and I LOVE COLOR!! I love them all and I love all of the combinations you can make with them. You can create and mood and any season, it’s like painting! Thank you so much for the beautiful palette! 💕
I tend to use most colors anytime of the year. I stray away from autumnal browns/bronze, gray this time of year. At the moment I’m crocheting my adult daughter a dress in Dark Magenta bamboo. Seems sagey green is a popular color in my area at the moment and I just happen to have some in cotton!
Beautiful presentation of your lovely yarn! Those flowers are very beautiful! In spring my fave colors to knit and crochet with are pinks, mints and blues sometimes mauves 🙂
I love to knit with bright, happy colours for spring, so whites, yellows, greens and blues that aren’t to dark suit me to a T.
I both crochet and knit though knitting is rather new to me. I love working with the more pastel colors in the spring as they are bright and cheery and remind me of Easter.
I start most of my knitting in the fall and winter months. Color preferences are not usually based on the season. Colors are usually determined by what the garment can be worn with in my closet! Practicality and/or function usually win in my decision-making.
I am a knitter and a sometime want to be crocheter. Raspberry and teals are pretty.
Dear Chandi,
As you go into spring, we go into autumn. So we are thinking of heavier weight things to knit and crochet. I do both and enjoy both for different reasons. I love colour and will use any and every colour in whatever I am making.
I love your yarn and patterns but cannot afford the yarn as I live in New Zealand. If I ever win Lotto here, I will buy a large lot of yarn from you.
Bless you and may all your days be bright and filled with joy.
I like to crochet and knit all year long. During springtime I like to work with bright summer colors. 🙂
No specific color change but yarn change to lighter.
I have been a knitter most of my life but I’m trying to branch out into crocheting. I live in the Midwest and things are still gray around here so bright colours are what I need in the spring!
I am a knitter year round. I don’t gravitate towards certain colors in the spring, but I love different shades of green. My color choices generally depend on the person I’m knitting for.
I prefer to crochet with bright colors for spring. As the ground is waking from it’s slumber (not that it does much sleeping here in the south), springtime always seems exponentially bright in contrast to the dull winter. As such, I gravitate toward all bright colors, but especially yellows, greens, pink, and blues!
I am more of a knitter than a crochet expert. I like making light sweaters scarves.
I just learned to crochet, so I mostly knit. My favorite spring colors are blues and purples.
In spring I definitely gravitate towards pastel colours for my knitting and crochet.
I’ve crocheted most of my life, and knit almost as long, and it doesn’t matter what time of year,
or with what colors, I prefer knitting for the look of the finished fabric, yet some things just lend
themselves to crochet. I can’t explain it. Plus there are only a few stitches on the hook instead of
lord knows how many on knitting needles!!!! 😀
Spring always makes me think of beautiful greens and pastels and I love to use these colors in the Spring.
I like to crochet in pastels for spring, yellow is a favorite. I wear a lot of black, so they brighten up my outfits.
I usually knit, but have started a Tunisian Crochet blanket for my nephew arriving in September. I’m drawn to pastel in Sping
I both knit and crochet. Crochet seems faster, so I’ve been doing more of it, lately. As for colors, I prefer rich, full, jewel tones, like deep purples, amethyst, sapphire blues, and emerald green. Not together, mind you, but in graduated shades, subtly melding into each other.
I am a knitter and new to crochet and I LOVE the colors in this giveaway.
Hello Chandi. My absolute favourite colour is green, so that is an all-year all-round staple. I both knit and crochet, mostly shawls, blankets and scarves. Would love to try a fitted garment with some of this beautiful yarn 🙂 Thank you for the chance!
All the colours are beautiful. Colours depend on who I’m making for. I’m a bit better at crochet but love knitting as well.
Congrats to Pamela for winning March’s Giveaway!
I crochet with any color, any time of year. If the color is one I’m drawn to, I’ll use it, lol.
Thanks again Chandi for another chance at receiving some purdy yarn =)
Still trying to knit. I love to crochet with dk, sports, light weights. Thank you Chandi and team for the beautiful give aways, newsletters, heartwarming messages and free patterns!
Oohh. I love spring colours of course; mauves, yellows, and pastel blues, etc. Beautiful.
Hi Chandi!
For Spring, I love light, soft fibers, in colors reminiscent of flower fields, flowering trees, and koi ponds with water lillies, etceteras.
Both, crocheting and knitting, are equally fun, for me, any season. For example, when it comes to crochet hooks, Tunisian crochet hooks, and knitting needles, I probably have enough to last the rest of my life. 😁😂
I don’t have a preference for yarn color for my crochet projects during the most part of the year; I use whatever yarns take my fancy. I do tend to use more autumn and Christmas colors during those specific times, though.
I don’t have any specific colours that I use at specific times of the year, but there are periods when I prefer pastel colours, and other times when stronger shades appeal to me more!
I like to knit with lavender, pink, white, green, and light blue in the spring time. In the fall and winter, I defnitely like deeper colors.
I like to knit with all the colors, not specific ones for spring
I am a crocheter, have been a crocheter for over 50 years.
With spring coming up, I love to knit with pastel colors like sky blue and baby pink. Thanks for this giveaway!
Always prefer knitting. Pastel blues and purples mixed with cream colors are fun in spring. Sometimes I want to crochet cute amigurumi egg covers in bright colors.
My friends say I am hard core crochet! I have to say I am totally blown away by the April giveaway. ;-0 OMG if ever I won any of your giveaways, this would be the one that would thrill me!
Prefer knitting. This year I’m loving sage green and soft pink.
I like to knit, with whatever colour catches my eye!
Bright colors are great for spring knitting, but I don’t have a preference. I will knit with a color that best fits the project.
I usually choose colors for a specific project: where/how it’s intended to be used, if it’s for someone else, etc., not so much for the season.
I always like the blue purple green colors, but this spring I have gotten projects started in pale pastel shades of those colors.
I’m constantly trying to finish things I started in the past, but I do try to start some smaller projects with a summer-weight yarn during the spring so that I can work with them on hot days when I can’t bear heavy yarn on my lap.
I love all the colors in the April yarn giveaway! In my own knitting and crocheting I am mostly drawn to colors in the blue/green/purple end of the spectrum but I’m also on the lookout for a perfect coral that isn’t too pink or too orange. Thanks for the opportunity to enter to win some of your fabulous yarn!
I love to crochet! I hope to master the ability to knit at some point. I make lots of shawls & baby blankets.
I prefer to knit, but have a couple things done with crochet. I taught my girls crochet. But none of them want to learn knit yet!
I knit and just like changing meals with the seasons, I like to change colors and materials with the seasons. I am really enjoying a soy/cotton blend right now. 😁
Hi Chandi, thank you for the opportunity to win some of your beauties! I only know how to crochet. Colors I like are jewltones, and ones with deep pigments look lovely. Have a wonderful day!
I think I would probably knit but might crochet if I found the right pattern
I knit and crochet. Love the colors they are just beautiful.
In the spring I like to use more vibrant colors! Pink and green are my favorites right now, and feature in a spring shawl I’m working on.
I have been crocheting since I was young. I am currently “teaching” my self to knit. Your video showing continental knitting is very helpful!
My favorite color is blue, but I start my Christmas gifts in the spring, so I am usually working with what ever happens to be the favorite color of the recipient (a lot of purple!).
I crochet exclusively; have tried to learn to knit multiple times but just can’t get it! I would consider myself an advanced beginner and love learning new stitches and exploring new yarn types. Your colors are exquisite!
Stunning spring shades! I knit and love mid range pastels and vibrant shades for spring. Robin egg blues and Azalea pinks and purples are so pretty. Honestly, I really can’t choose!
I crochet any color that strikes me at any time of the year.
I knit and crochet but prefer crochet. In the Spring I love to use pastel colors and light weight yarn. This give away is perfect for spring crocheting.
Beautiful picture in your Yarn giveaway.
Spring is definitely whites and yellows , daffodils and Lilly of the Valley, my first flowers of spring
I both knit and crochet with whatever colors suit my current project. I don’t really have a preference I suppose
I have no particular preference for colors for any particular time of year, just want to enjoy crafting.
I mostly knit for charity, so am using whatever yarn and colors are available. Right now I am trying to work through my stash!
I love to crochet!
No specific colors per season for me. Whatever strikes my fancy works!
In Spring, I prefer to work with clear light airy colors that look like flowers. But I am an autumn myself and can’t wear those colors, so it depends on what I am making. I usually like to take a break from “usable” stuff and make something different, just for fun, that I can give away or use to decorate with. Like a blanket to drape across the back of the couch to bring in spring flower colors, or a lacy shawl that will likely never get worn. I mean…who really wears shawls in their daily life anyway? As beautiful as they are, they are really more of a dream life than daily gear. I would LOVE to make one of those crochet puff flower blankets for spring, but I can’t get the stitch right as I am mostly a knitter. I would love to see you have one of those as a project for us!
I love to knit with beautiful pinks and purples.
First, thanks for this opportunity! Since I knit and crochet, it is the pattern and the use of the final object that draws me to patterns. If they are more than my skill set, I gladly challenge myself to learn. I like bold colors and am in love with the magenta/plum yarn in the pictures above. I would love to make a shell from the blue yarn – just right for a southern summer!
I lead a couple of knit groups and have turned all the participants to your store. They regularly give your beautiful yarns to wind or ask for help on patterns that do the yarn justice.
I love to knit! My crochet is pretty awful, but getting better!
My favourite sping colors are light leaf green and light pink- just reminds me of spring flowers!
I like to knit and crochet with thinner yarn to make Spring and Summer projects, and I am drawn to beachy colors like seafoam green and light teal colors.
I crochet, but want to learn to knit, and I don’t particularly choose colors based on the season, but more on the project and/or who I’m giving the project to 🙂
I love all the blues!! Would love to crochet a shawl from them!!!!
I love to knit and crochet in soft tones during the spring. I especially like yellow and blue.
Thank you for the lovely yarns in this giveaway! I enjoy knitting and crocheting with lighter colors in spring, particularly pinks! Thanks for all you do for the yarn community!
I knit in all my favorite colors all year round! Blues and greens and purples!
I crochet with whichever color is most fitting for the pattern I am using. I don’t limit my creativity by only using certain colors based on the season.
I love to knit! Mainly shawls but I’m working on my first hat right now. In spring I’m drawn to deep jewel tones and muted pastels like the flowers I see around my neighborhood!
I like crocheting with pale pink for spring.
In Spring I love to crochet garments in bright yellow and blue for my girls. Now that I have a little grand-daughter I am crocheting with the softest pink and mint.
All the colors in your giveaway are gorgeous!Lucky us, given the chance to win it!
Hi, I do like to knit, crochet with brighter colours in spring/summer time. I feel very light, cheerful, overall better spirited when it’s warmer and sunny ☀️. In the colder weather I prefer more neutral tones. Love your yarns, can’t buy them because just the price of the transportation is too much 😞, so I join these giveaways, hoping someday I’ll win one, who knows!😁💕
Hi Chandi,
thanks a lot for your generosity! These yarns are so beautiful! I would love to knit a lot with them. Socks, Tees, sweaters or maybe a blanket…
Adoro l’uncinetto e con i tuoi filati tutto diventa meraviglioso.
Un abbraccio Gaby
I only crochet. I love working with multi color skeins and seeing the colors come out. Jewel tones are my absolute favorite. EFA has my favorite alpaca silk but I’ve branched out and love the different ones I’ve tried so far.
Hello! Lovely colors this month! I don’t find myself varying much in which colors I’m drawn to, but I definitely reach for lighter weight yarns and light and airy patterns during spring. I’m about to start a shirt using a yummy Alpaca Silk Lace kit from EFA, and I can’t wait to wear it!
These are such lovely Spring colors. You do such a wonderful job with your dyeing.
I Knit or Crochet with any color any time of the year. It’s the yarn weight that determines what I make during the Spring and Summer month. Because it gets pretty hot here in Texas. Today is supposed to get up in the 80’s and Summer is not even here yet.
Chandi, you and Tim are just so generous! Even if I never win one of your giveaways I will never change how I feel. Not only are the giveaways huge, but it isn’t like you are putting the yarn colors or fiber that doesn’t sell in them. No…the yarn that is picked out ( I remembered that Tim does pick some of the yarns) is beautiful, vibrant, great fiber content, well I could go on and on so to sum it up. Best giveaways, best yarn, best company, best owners.
Aww, thank you, Linda! I passed your message on to Chandi, Tim, and the entire team! – Johanna 💕
I don’t actually knit seasonally like that, though I do tend to favor blues and grays in general.
Spring knitting, to me, seems to call for brighter, sunshine-filled colors as lighter weights or plant-based fibers.
I have a light teal cotton sweater I need to finally finish up!
Colors available in spring might make it into a project in spring. I have so many projects going at any one time that I’m almost afraid to start another. If I’m still working on something from last fall, that’s what it is. Your yarns are lovely and very desirable. Thanks for the chance to win–hope I do!
I prefer to knit, although I do enjoy crocheting–much faster results!
I love knitting in bright colors for spring. Right now I’m knitting in a minty cotton!
I love to knit and crochet 🧶. My goal this year is to learn how to knit socks.
I usually reach for pinks and purples but this year I’m working on a gray Lotus tee!
Hi Chandi and EFA Team!😊👋🏝🧶 Congratulations Pamela!🥳👏 I live on an island and we only have two seasons: dry and wet. When Easter comes around, I know that Spring is almost here. We celebrate Easter with lots of reflection in church, flying of kites, eating chocolates and family gatherings. My go-to is crochet and I have a work in progress infinity scarf to help improve my knitting skills (beginner level). My favorite colour is pink but I love all colours no matter what season! Usually, I will buy whatever jumps up at me and/or get a different colour next time around (greens and yellows are next in line). Wishing the EFA a wonderful Spring and take care! Good luck everyone!
I love the pastels that come out in spring and always plan what I’m going to crochet with them even if those plans never come to fruition.
I like to knit with lightweight yarn and pastel shades of blue for the spring. Thank you for the chance of winning your generous giveaway.
I knit and crochet, but I think I tend to crochet more in the warmer months.
I crochet but have thought about teaching myself to knit. Your April yarn giveaway is filled with such lovely color & artistry to show it all off!
Stunning!
My color preferences don’t change with the seasons.
I have no preference for colours when the seasons change. It’s whatever the pattern and mood calls for me to pull out to use. The only things that determines what I make are the yarn weight and fibre content.
Hi Chandi. Beautiful giveaway. I most often prefer lighter pastel colors in the spring and summer months. That being said, if I see a pattern with yarns that are made with jewel tones, which are my favorite, I’ll make them any time of the year!
I am just teaching myself how to knit so I don’t have a preference between either yet. I love anything in the lilac, plum, purple color range for spring.
I prefer the same colors all year round! This display looks like a cake, which is fitting for my April birthday 🤤
I have been crocheting since I was about twelve but have recently learned how to knit and really love it. I love blues and any color combinations that has some in it, I think it really comes down to a mood thing as far s what colors I use in a project. Thank you for sharing your beautiful color ways with us!

In the spring I love to crochet in bright greens and yellows! Thanks!
Hi, Chandi… I usually knit, but try to learn crochet nowadays. But, still more prefer to knit.
I drawn to blue, teal and pastel colour, but I actually have difficulties on chosing a colour. I do love colours.. Hope one day I can afford and try your yarns, coz they look fantastic..
Hello! wonderful yarns and wonderful pictures of them. I generally prefer earth tones. During the spring time, especially early, I try to add some color to my projects. I love shades of yellow and green. When I look at these photos I wanted to use blues. they are charming
I love all the colors all year round!
Knitting for a couple of years now but attempting to learn how to crochet with small success! :). Love blues, teals, purples and neutrals…depends on the project.
Hi Chandi,
I predominately crochet as I’m pretty new to knitting. My favorite colors to use during Spring and Summer are pastels; the yarns in this giveaway are perfect…🤞Thank you for the chance to win.
Good luck everyone…😊
I love Crochet! These colors are fabulous! I would so love to win this giveaway and enjoy these beautiful yarns. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your yarns!
Hi! I prefer to crochet. my go to colors are most shades of blue. I also love pinks, Deep reds, Teals and some yellows. Love the greens in the photos! Would use them for a sweater. What a wonderful collection of yarn, thank you for offering these!
Cheers Chandy! I love all seasons and all colors, but I still have a lobby and it is spring Spring, when the earth takes its fresh breath, when everything awakens to new life, when we turn with hope to the new beginning. In the spring I get new inspirations that fuel me for all seasons. And I love April because it’s my birthday month. I like to crochet both single and double crochet. For me, this is unearthly relaxation. I feel blessed. I love all the colors. I create beauty with them.
I love knit but I also try crochet and i think both are relaxing me and i love ocean colour palette 😊
I don’t change my palette based on the season. I tend to stick with jewel tones year round.
KNIT in earthy tones!!
I love the vibrant and pastel colors of the flowers, purples, yellows and pink. The giveaway is so beautiful this month. At would be an honor to win and share with my knitting pals. Thanks you too you and your staff. Rose
I only know how to crochet so far and look forward to learning to knit. I love using turquoise and lilac colors in the spring!
I love to crochet pastel colors in spring.
I like blues, greens, and pinks. I knit and crochet. I love your beautiful yarns.
I love most colors but these are such beautiful spring colors who can resist them!
I don’t have any rhyme or reason when I crochet projects in relation to Spring or any season. I do love working with vibrant colors though. When making a baby blanket, pastel colors are gorgeous.
Dearest Chandri … I’m more a knitter than a crocheter …. But am slowly getting more adventurous in both …. Any chance I have to work with a luxurious yarn I try and find a pattern that is fitting for it … and extends my skills at the same time.
Down here we are swinging into Autumn and Winter is only around the corner …. I don’t tend to knit particular things in particular seasons … I have been trying to stretch my colour palette …. I’m not normally one for working with autumnal colours … so that is my goal at the moment.
Every email from you has me almost drooling over the stunning yarns … sadly every time I almost have enough money to indulge in purchasing some of them …. Some mundane necessity of an extra bill comes up to thwart my plans …. So every time I enter one of your amazing draws I can dream about finally maybe feeling and working with some of them 😍 … off to dream of luscious luxury yarns …. Bright blessings
I have my fingers crossed for you! 🤞
Knitting is my primary craft. As for colors in the spring and summer, I lean towards bright, jewel tones. I am not a fast knitter so I usually am still knitting fall/winter items in teh spring and summer. Just the process of knitting itself gives me joy, calm, and tranquility.Mo
I love crocheting with light greens and blues in spring, but it’s not exclusive- I love all the colors here! I find myself using patterns that have more open space in them too, so they’re easily wearable as it gets warmer.
I prefer cool colors, blues, teals, purples more pastel in the spring more jewel toned in the fall
I love both! I have crocheted for over 40 years. I’m only a few years into knitting. It depends on what I’m making then I’ll decide if it’s going to be a knot or crochet.
I’ve been crazy about greens lately.. These colors are perfect together. I never would have put them together myself. They would snake a perfect wrap and fiddle muff.
I’m a knitter and my projects are always lagging behind and not following the seasons. I do love spring colors, but my skin tone likes jewel tones.
Yes!
In the spring, I constantly find myself reaching for blues, teals, and greens. The fresh, pastel colours, in mostly fingering and sport to knit light lace tops for the summer.
Thanks for the incredible giveaways, Chandi! 😘
I definitely prefer crochet (trying to learn knit), but I don’t have specific colors. It’s really whatever projects come up, and right now it’s baby gifts!
I knit, crochet, and have taken the dive into designing shawls with my EFA yarn collection. I have never won anything before so I hope to be the lucky winner this month. Thank you so much for your beautiful yarn, you positivity and helping to motivate me to do things that make me happy.
I love both knitting and crocheting. No matter what time of year I love working with bold vibrant colors. Of course I will work with any color on request too.
I prefer to crochet, and my projects are usually done in vibrant colors. Most of the projects I’m working on right now are baby gifts!
Honestly, the colors I choose depend on the project for me. I very seldom use the original colors that are listed in a pattern. I typically try to use a yarn similar to what is recommended in the pattern, but then I choose the colors based on either a) what I have available that will work for the pattern or b) the colors I think will work best for the circumstances of the project. I tend to use “spring” colors and pastels for “baby” projects.
I crochet, and prefer lighter (2/3) yarns in spring/summer because of the heat. I tend to do my heavier patterns in winter.
My favorite colors tend to be spring and summer colors anyway so I love this time of year!
I knit, my daughter crochets, my sister does it all! I love purples. Your design is beautiful! The teal really sets off the purple! Thanx for the giveaway!!!!
Blues are always my favorite colors to knit or crochet with.
I love to knit. I love your yarn also. Thanks for all you do. Love your Facebook chats.
Thanks again Chandi, I’ve been entering for a very long time, I know my day is coming, in the meantime, I enjoy all your content…videos, patterns and gorgeous yarn .
I knit with any colors, any time! My most recent project is a tan cowl with violet accents — prettier than it sounds!
I Luke peach and coral colours!
I crochet primarily, but I have been re-teaching myself to knit lately and enjoying the process. I will follow along your tutorials and swatch with you. I’ve learned a lot. Thanks for the inspiration.
Beautiful yarn. I knit and crochet. Depends on what I’m making as to whether I’m knitting or crocheting.
Will use any and all colours. Working with yarn is my time out.
I have no preference based on time of year but the style of pattern changes based on the seasons (lighter items in spring).
Hello! I prefer to knit light stuff for the warm season, using cotton yarn in bright and happy colors ☺️
I Luke peach and coral colours!
I knit and crochet
I love lighter colors in spring, especially pink!
