Wow, these are so beautiful Chandi. You got me, I am in love with these yarns. I ordered a few days ago and I can’t wait for my yarns to come thru the mail. Thank you for spreading love and happiness.
These are lovely. I’ve been working a lot with fingering weight lately but am ready to start a project with a bulkier weight. It’s fun when things work up quickly.
I like fingering weight yarn…
Amazing selection of type and colors! I love using bulkier but have recently challenged myself to try more delicate fingering.
What an amazing giveaway! I’m a relative newcomer to your channel, just bought my first pattern from you,the red velvet rose wrap; so here’s looking forward to working that up and finding something else to love very soon xXx
Chandi, all of your yarn is beautiful. I have some and patterns.
I enjoy your kind words of encouragement.
Thank you
Chandi, all of your yarn is beautiful. I have some and patterns.
I enjoy your kind words of encouragement.
Thank you
I’m enjoying dk weight yarns right now. I’m making Find Your Path right now and am loving the pattern and the yarn.
I am a fan of worsted yarn. You can make a lot of things with worsted. It is pretty flexible for a lot of projects.
I hope i win this butiful yarn to make a nice sweate or scarf /cardigan whit it its so lovely this yare im in love whit it
Hey Chandi! First i want to thank you for all your hard work you put into this blog and creating some of the most beautiful dyed yarns ive ever seen. Not to mention your everlasting commitment to all of your followers/fellow “yarnies” lol! Anywho you aksed which weight of yarn was our fav and why… That is a hard decision to make only because it depends on what im crafting. But if i had to make a choice id probably go with a 3 light or 4 medium only bcs u can practically go to each of the ends of the spectrum with either of those weights, and make just about anything. I am a clothing crocheter myself so i find the lighter weights easier and cleaner looking, but dont get it twisted (no pun intended) i love a 6 super bulky yarn to make a warm scarf or throw blanket. Again, thank you so much for all your dedication and time you spend to make our crafting as beautiful as you are on the inside. Hope you are having an amazing end of spring fresh nee start to summer! Cant wait to see what you come up with in the months to come!
Beautiful Chandi, You have gorgeous yarns. I so wish I could use them. You are truly gifted. Thank you for sharing.
I love working with fingering weight the most. It’s so light and I love the beauty of lace work.
I love all weights but my favorite is probably a 3 weight. I love lightweight projects that flow and you can wear for most seasons.
Wow! This would be a dream come true. Your yarns are gorgeous but I have to save up between orders. I enjoy working with fingering weight yarn because it drapes so beautifully. I enjoy scarves and shawls.
I love to work with big chunky yarns because I find them easier to use. I want to branch out more into other weights of yarn though. This months giveaway looks great!
I love your yarns! Have never used them, but I truly want to try them so I am saving up to buy and try them. I live on a fixed income so the things I want I Have to save for andthats ok cuz from what I am seeing it is gonna be worth it. So even if I don’t win, thats ok. I still am gonna get me some of your yarn! Please be patience with me. And by the way I watched your beginner video on how to knit, I can do them it stitch, seem to be having problems with the purl stitch, am sure I will soon get the hang of it with a little more practice! I’m excited! Thank you
I love all yarn, but I’d say my favorite is probably DK with fingering coming in second. Your yarn is gorgeous, & i wish I could buy them all. Thank you for the chance to win this beautiful bundle.
XOXO
Hi Chandi and Team,
Thank you! My orders are shipping (earlier than previously scheduled)! Very much excited, oh I can’t wait. So happy with the email this morning!
You guys are wonderful, I am inspired by your dedication💞
Thank you!!!
Vivian
I love your yarn! I am drawn to DK because I am a very slow knitter and it seems to grow a little faster! 💗
Such beautiful yarn. I think worsted is my favorite weight to work with at the moment.
I’m loving fingering and sport weight yarns right now because they’re light weight and produce beautiful stitches. Plus, if you want you have the option to double up the strands.
I love the fingering weight. The feel and how the fabric flows, so easy to work with.
Hi! Thanks so much for doing this giveaway! The yarn is just beautiful!
How is it that every giveaway is more gorgeous than the last one?!? This is so beautiful, Chandi!
Hi 👋 another beautiful giveaway who wouldn’t love all these colours I do hope your well and safe at this terrible time may god be with us all xxx
The yarns are stunning! Thank you for the giveaway!
Your messages inspire me. I’m afraid to order as money is tight in the USA with lost jobs and down time.
Your yarns are beautiful! I prefer to knit DK or worsted weight because projects knit up so much faster than fingering.
I like to use 8 ply, its so quick to knit with.
Another beautiful collection!
So pretty! I like fingering weight the best. Versatile for various clothing items like shawls and light sweaters and great yardage.
Yet more gorgeous yarns. I can’t wait to get my order 😁.
So many gorgeous colours and weights to choose from. Good luck to everyone who enters xoxo
Hi- My faveorite yarn weight is Sport because there’s still good yardage per skein for bigger prpjects and it’s not as time consuming as Fingering weight.
Such beautiful yarns! My favorite yarn to work with is fingering or sport, for the economical yardage. And because I live in the south, anything heavier gets very hot any season but winter.
Ilove the colour combination you’ve selected for this giveaway! While I love playing with all weights and fibres of yarn, my go to favorite is worsted to chunky yarn. I have many UFOs of lighter weights (and have completed a number of projects using much finer yarn) I find joy in working on and completing a project in the spare time I have to give to it–still working full time through COVID. I have people ask me how to knit and I’m always willing to teach them on our breaks. I tell them to start with big yarn, big needles and a small project. If they are interested I’ll work with them to knit a scarf, I teach them to knit and purl then let them decide how wide, how long and what design–plain knitting, garder stitch, ribbing, etc.
I’m drooling !! soooo beautiful!!
Hi Chandi. Hope you are safe and doing well. The yarn looks gorgeous. I love the colors in this month’s (June) giveaway. I hope I can win this month since it is my birthday month. Always love ❤️ your inspirational advice. I love working with the finger weight yarns. I started learning with worsted weight yarn but the finger weight yarn is easier to work with.
Thank you for the giveaways! I mostly use 4 weight yarn.
Hello Chandi! Your yarns are so beautiful and inspiring! I love working with lightweight and fingering yarns because they make my projects feel light and airy. Thank you for your emails, they are sweet!
Just beautiful,, Chandi! Thank you for the chance to win this yarn! I have come to love DK weight yarn, as it’s so versatile and works up fairly quickly! xx
Stunning colors!
Lovely giveaway. I hope I win?
Thank you for the giveaway I love all yarns, weights & cors lol. This time of year i like the light weight thinner yarns where its comfortable in hot weather.
Hello Chandi! I like working with fingering to Sport weight as it allows some nice stitch definition. Thanks for offering such variety of beautiful high quality yarn as well as great pattern ideas for your yarn.
Such beautiful yarns ! Always such amazing colors. I love working with any weight yarn except bulky.
So many ideas running through my mind on what is possible to make with this beautiful yarn!
I love these colors, they are so soothing and just make me want to wrap up in them. Most of the time I crochet dk yarn for baby blankets or shawls. Now that I’m finally learning to knit I might be able to make a top or cardigan.
Thanks Chandi, for the opportunity to win this gorgeous selection of yarn. I love working with all weights of yarn, but have been doing much more in sock/sport weight, making shawls and scarves lately.
Just gorgeous!!! All of the skeins are dreamy!!! I’m crossing my fingers!! 🙂
WOW. These are my colors in this month’s giveaway
Chandi, These yarns are to die for! They are so beautiful! Thank you for having such a wonderful giveaway and for all the lovely inspiration!!
thank you for always brightening my day with your beautiful colors
I do not have a favorite yarn weight, I just use what the project says
I love to work with fingering weight yarn. I enjoy matching the right yarn to the pattern that calls for it to make shawls. Designers are very creative and there is so much satisfaction when the marriage is made between the yarn and pattern.
These are spectacular colorways – and I honestly wouldn’t have thought to put a couple of them together – but gorgeous. You asked about favorite yarns weights – it’s really a tie between fingering and DK as they are both a joy to use. Thanks for this opportunity to win such gorgeus yarn. I ‘stashed’ about 10 skeins of your fingering weight, found a relaxing pattern, checked this little stash, ……….needed 5 skeins of fingering and found 5 perfect ones! Can’t wait to start as your yarns are wonderful to knit.
Hi Chandi, these are so so beautiful!! Because of my hands being so arthritic, I stick with a 4 weight yearn once in a while can can do a small project with a 3 weight. Thanks so much for the chance to win.
Absolutely beautiful yarn
Thank you
Kim
You always have such beautiful yarn. I truly love them. My favorite is fingering. The possibility with these are endless and I absolutely love the drape.
Your yarns are so scrumptious! I love crocheting with DK weight yarn. My arthritic hands won’t let me work with thinner yarns and hooks unless I double it up. I’ve done that with some of your gorgeous fingering yarn though, ’cause I couldn’t resist! ❤
Stunning work!
The colors are luscious! I love all yarn. Thanks for another wonderful give-away.
Beautiful yarn. I love working with fingering, 4 ply, sock yarn because it is so versatile. You can double or triple the strands to make a marled project or thicken the yarn.
My favorite yarn used to be worsted but recently I’ve been branching out and using more fingering weights! I feel like I can be more creative and it comes in so many amazing colors!!!
Again, you have created a stunning giveaway. Sport and sock weight are my favorites. Sport for how fast I complete a project. Sock because of all the details you can create with it.
Hello! I like your Dewy yarn DK i made many crochet flowers from them and i like it does not split and colors are beautiful.I like your sport yarn Luster its have such sheen to it and colors are beautiful.I made flowers and shawls from it.Work up very good.I have bought other but this 2 i really love to work with.Thank you Chandi.
Such gorgeous yarn! I’m a fairly new knitter (been knitting since November 2019). I’ve knitted with fingering, DK and worsted. I think I like knitting with worsted the best, but I feel like it’s too soon to tell since it’s the one I’ve worked with the most. After Love and Lace, my next project will be your Creery sweater since I have yet to knit with bulky.
Have a beautiful day!
Stunning, absolutely stunning! You are a true artist!
Lovely Autumn, Winter colours, perfect for our current seasons in Australia!
I don’t have a favorite weight, but I somehow manage to use a lot of sport, fingering, and lace.
I would love to have a truck load of your fingering yarn so that I could jump in and just wallow around. Now that would be heavenly!
Favorite weight of yarn is always dependent on the project I’m working on… but for just gravitating toward a free-for-all choice, I think I’ve settled on a good ol’ DK. I get the substance of worsted, but less strain on the draping and something that is just overall really versatile.
Chandi, these colorways are BREATHTAKING!! Will cross my fingers!!!
Holy moly you have the most scrumptious colors! I’m going to be in sooo much trouble when I can knit faster then a turtle.
Your yarns are beautiful! I have made a scarf with your fingering weight yarn, which I just love – so soft and drapey. I also enjoy bulky yarns because they make for quick projects. I am currently working with a DK cotton, a patchwork baby stroller/carrier blanket. It seems I do not have a favorite, as long as the results are beautiful and cozy!
I love your yarns and pattens. I also love your tutorials. They have helped me learn to knit. I love DK weight yarn. It is so versatile and you can make anything with it.
I like to use chunky and bulky yarn, they’re just so cozy! Thank you for the giveaway, amazing as always 🙂
These look lovely!
I like to work with sport, DK, and worsted weight the most, because baby clothes, hats and scarves, and blankets make up the bulk of my projects. Occasionally, there will be a quick, fun foray into bulky or super bulky territory, or I will have a nice long visit with fingering or sock weights. 🙂
Thanks for the giveaway, Chandi!
These colors are truly inspiring!
I participate to your giveaways since a few months and these are the most beautiful colors I’ve ever seen !
Love the mix of colours in this giveaway. My favourite weight of yarn is sock weight, because it is so versatile and can be made into so many colour work patterns. I love making patterned hats, especially patterns from Shetland wool week. Thanks for doing giveaways!
Hi! My favorite yarn weight is DK weight yarn. First DK weight knits up more quickly than fingering and sport weight. Secondly it is great for both cold and warm weather garments. And finally by holding it double I have worsted weight yarn most times. That is why DK weight yarn is my go to yarn!
WOW….These are my colors. Stupendous !!!!! Thanks again for your generosity and giving us the chance at winning.
Hello Chanti,
Yes I agree with the others, all your yarns are beautiful.
I am also waiting for my first yarn.
I love knitting with sock weight, for socks of course, but it is also versitile for shawls and scarves too!
Beautiful yarns!!!! The colors are fabulous. I really don’t have a specific favorite weight of yarn, as i knit with all of your yarns. Projects turn out beautiful!!!! Love ya Chandi!!!
I love working with fingering weight, it’s so versatile
Those colors are so absolutely gorgeous!!
Thanks for the chance to win some of your delicious Yarn. I havent a clue what i would do with it, probably just hold and carress for a while 🙂
My favorite yarn is the smaller the better. I like thin items. Then after finishing a huge project, I appreciate a nice chunky yarn. It goes so much faster. All of your yarn is so beautiful and nice to work with, it is by far my favorite of any yarn I have ever used.
I love your sport weight yarn tweed. I think I own very color. I just love your yarn base on every level.
Hope you are well!
Hello, Chandi! Thank you so much for your daily inspiring words. I truly look forward to reading them💕 Your yarn is just so beautiful and I look forward to turning it into something beautiful to wear.
Right now I’m enjoying working with DK weight yarn. It has a delicate feel to it and works up so lovely.
Thank you, beautiful one🌞
Goodmorning, beautiful yarn. I seem to gravitate to fine, fingering and sport weight. Not sure why, it’s usually the color I am attracted to and then I decide what to make with it. Have a wonderful day.
Oh my! These colors are soooo beautiful, I absolutly LOVE the varigated gold. You have an incredible talent for color and creation. Thank you for sharing it.
Gorgeous yarn – such lovely colours too! My favourite weight of yarn is dk/light worsted although I do like to vary it and am currently making a poncho in super chunky yarn! I have not made a project in fingering weight yet, so would love to try this soon 🙂
Fingering weight is my favorite weight as it’s perfect year round since you can add layers if needed.
Beautiful colors as always!
Thanks for your great blog and inspiring emails! My favorite weight of yarn is sock weight. It is fine enough to create pieces that are multi-season, and tend to hang nicely, but it’s not as fussy and time consuming as lace weight,
HI Chandi !
Thank you always for the opportunity in your gift-aways ! I really like Fingering – you are able to ADD another fiber to it if desired. Just opens glorious options in that weight ( ^ ; * )
Love the feel of a soft easy care yarn that can be made into scarves, blankets, and shawls. Easy care as most often the recipient of my yarn busting projects go to seniors
who do not have the time or energy to hand wash.
Love your website. So creative and artistic.
These giveaways are always amazing! Thank you so much for hosting them!
My favourite yarn weight to work with is worsted. It’s so versatile — useful for anything from amigurumi to household accessories to clothing — and so quick to work up. It also comes in such a wide variety of textures and colours!
The red velvet shawl got me hooked. It is so beautiful! I’m so glad your site found me. I’ve never seen such beautiful yarn. I can’t wait to get started on my project. Fingering weight is my favorite. I don’t like anything heavy and thick feeling. Fingering, It creates such a delicate fancy look to the projects I pick.
Thank you for all your talent you share!
Your yarn is both beautiful to look at and work with!
Another gorgeous yarn giveaway, thanks so much! My favorite weight to use is #4. It’s what I started with and the most available to me.
Your yarn is eye candy and feels soooo wonderful while being worked. I anxiously await each shipment,
I love fingering yarn. It is great the way it is for shawls – but I love pairing it with mohair. Love your yarns Chandi – I will order some soon.
I love working with all different types and weights of yarn and I always have several projects going at the same time-some simple and some more advanced. That way I can pick which project to knit depending on my mood, or how much attention I can give to it, or how my body is feeling (I have fibromyalgia and sometimes I just can’t handle anything complicated!)
as always, great colors for a variety of projects. Have always been really happy with your yarns and colors and this is no exception. Keep up the great work Chandi.
Thanks Pam
Hello
My favorite yarn to work with is sock or fingering weight. I love crocheting with those types because of the flowingness and drapability that it gives to my wraps and shawls. I love how the thinner yarn feels in between my fingers with all of the different smoothness, softness, and beautiful colors. I just really have come to LOVE yarn!
I think my favorite weight of yarn is DK. I have your yarn in every weight, but DK seems to be my sweet spot for feeling comfortable to knit and actually seeing progress. I recently introduce a new knitting friend to your shop and she is hooked. I started her on DK, but she even bought some sock yarn!
Just gorgeous! Especially the honey gold! I mostly love fingering weight, and sport is a close second. I love making socks and shawls, and I get more use out of light weight, multi-season sweaters since I live in Texas.
I usually find myself working with fingering (for shawls), but for sweaters I’d like to work more with sport weight.
This collection is beautiful!
Chandi, your yarns are exquisite! I don’t care what weight they are, I just love them all!
Oh to have the white in there is such a beautiful contrast. Such a clean colour
Beautiful as always. Love the creamy white addition
DK is my go to yarn….it feels substantial, but also not inhibiting.
Take good care of yourself, Chandi…..the world needs you and your beautiful spirit❤️
I’m new at ordering hand-dyed yarn. So I don’t have a favorite weight regarding yarn. Your patterns are wonderful. I’m not a shawl wearing person but I do love them. Especially the Journey Shawl!!!! Blue has always been my favorite color but I can see this in wine ,rose and pink colors.
Hi Chandi,
Beautiful products! I just ordered the Palette Shawl and entered for the June give away. I didn’t see the chance to state my favorite weight of yarn. My favorite weight yarn is worsted or bulky. I even love extra bulky. This is because I live in WI and it’s chilly or cold much of the year. Plus, as an advanced beginner only, I like a project to move along rather quickly, so I can start another. 🙂
Thank you for the chance to win. All of your yarns are so impressive. I love them all.
I love the beautiful colours for this month. While I’m comfortable using most weights of yarn I prefer the dk to lace weights the best. Couldn’t tell you why cause I don’t know myself. All I know is I love yarn.
I am so addicted to your yarn! And those colors – I would make so many gifts with those 🙂 My favorite weight of yarn is fingering. It’s so versatile!
I love working with Worsted weight most often because it works up so fast and it’s fairly easy on my hands. Its good for showing details too. I love sock weight too but I dont do as much with it… it’s mostly for the constantly ready to go sock in progress so it’s weird that I always gravitate to the sock yarn in stores and hoard it more than any other weight.
Hi Chandi, thanks again for another opportunity to win some of your luscious yarn! I wanted to tell you that, for the past few months when I share it on FaceBook, the picture that comes up is not the huge pile of gorgeous yarn like it used to be, but HUGE letters “sion fib” from Expression Fiber Arts (the biggining “s” is only half there as well as the ending “b”). I’m not sure if it’s just my computer, but if it’s everyone’s, that’s not very enticing for people to want to enter/sign up. Thanks for being YOU!
My favorite type of yarn to work with is Bulky (weight 5 and 6). They knit up so quickly and I love making hats with them. Just so snuggly and squishy.
What beautiful yarn, Chandi! I love the softness of baby weight / fine yarn (although I need patience for these projects)! I mostly work with worsted weight and know I would enjoy bulky weight … less patience needed 😉
Got my fingers crossed!! In the meantime, my mookaite colored yarn is being processed and I can’t wait to see it in person.
Greetings! It’s a beautiful day in Washington (state) and to see this beautiful selection of yarns makes this day perfect! I’m making a pet mat for Operations Blankets of Love. It’s a charity organization that improves the health of homeless animals and increase their chances for survival and adoption.
That brings me to my favorite yarn to work with, the chunky yarn. It reminds me of fettuccine pasta! I also love the fingering weight. I can’t stop snuggling the cashmere yarn!
Chandi, your yarn is my favorite that I’ve come across. Not to mention the patterns you offer. I’m grateful to learn more and create beautiful items because of you! Thank you so much!
I love working with chunky yarn. I have noticed that I drift off into more of a meditative state when working with thicker yarn, and it has to be wool or a percentage of wool. I love how lively wool yarns are so I stay away from acrylic if I can help it.
HI there, my sister is a customer. She told me how much she loves your yarn and YOU! I ordered some yarn and had it shipped to her to make me some socks. Lately, I prefer to crochet with bulky, multicolored yarns as I like to produce hats and scarves quickly. I am now also a fan! Love your website, photography, patterns, color schemes and positive outlook.
Hi Chandi, I’m quite new at knitting and crocheting – I’ve been doing my third project (each with a different type of yarn). I guess, the one I’m working with right nie, which is fingering, is the jest.
Wow! These yarns look stunning! I have to say that each time I have ordered I am beyond pleased. The yarns have been gorgeous and my projects turn out amazing. Thank you!!
I love your yarns for their colors and softness. They drape beautiful
.
I love the look and feel of the fingerling yarn. So perfect or a multitude of treasured projects.
Love, love, love these colors!
My favorite weight of yarn is worsted!
These colours have me dreaming, so beautiful!
Beautiful, as always.
As for my favorite yarn weight, I use them ALL, depending on the project.
So I guess if you split the difference, maybe a sport or worsted weight; that way it doesn’t take too long to finish a project, and it doesn’t weigh too much.
Such pretty yarn. I like DK weight because it is not too thin or too thick. Just right! 😉
Can’t say that I really have a favorite–I’m happy to knit with laceweight to super bulky. But for the sake of an answer, I’ll say fingering, because it makes a nice, lightweight fabric, good for a not-overly cold climate.
Beautiful Beautiful Yarns!!! Stumbled on your site from a Youtube video of yours about Continental Knitting. And the rest is history!!! I deal mostly with Worsted yarn. At times it can be bulky for my hands to knit. Others its a breeze. I’m very new to knitting (3-6 months) so its hard to remember the sizes under worsted.
I suppose my favourite weight yarn is fingering. I knit a lot of scarves and shawls and the size of the yarn shows the stitches beautifully. Thanks for the giveaway. One of these days I’m going to win this!!
Hi Chandi! Your yarns are so beautiful. I so appreciate your loving emails. Thank you so much for doing the giveaway!
Sockweight is my favorite. You always have such lovely colors!
Holy Moses! I saw last month’s winner was Beth and nearly had a stroke!! 😳😂
these are STUNNING!!! i adore earthtones & these are gorgeous!!
I love seeing your beautiful yarns and reading your uplifting messages. Blessings 🌸🌷🌸
You have the most beautiful yarns! I ordered blossom fingering and just love it. 💕💕
My favorite yarn to work with is bulky. I love quick projects including hats, cowls, and toys. Bulky yarns work up fast, and provide me with a cache of fun items that
I can give away to my friend s and family members.
I love knitting lace, but how many shawls and wraps does a girl need?
Your yarns are my go to yarns to use. I have never been disappointed.
I tend to gravitate towards DK weight and higher. Lately I have been experimenting with fingering and sock weight. So really anything that is soft and silky I enjoy working with. ☺️
You asked for favorite weight of yarn to work with? Lately, it’s been a toss-up between lace weight and #3. Other times, I want the #4 for faster work that still looks classy, not clunky. Why? Now I live where it is predominately warm or hot, so lighter yarns make more appropriate projects. And I don’t like the extra bulk that bulky yarn garments add to my form! Good reason, I think.
NEVER disappointed & always excited to receive the beautiful yarn & pins and FREE Pattern Fridays are the best!
Love all the positive words Chandi shares and the videos, tutorials and everything else about Expression Fiber Arts!
Thank you so much for all you do!
I prefer sport weight. It tends to drape well and I like the stitch definition of the ones I’ve used.
Gorgeous yarn! I love fingering because of the versatility. Socks, sweaters, shawls, hats, mittens, tees. You name it. I would love to win this lot. It would be a great birthday present.
Scrumptious giveaway! My absolute favorite weight yarn is fingering weight because I am addicted to knitting socks, socks, and MORE SOCKS!!!! I also love knitting up lovely matching scarves with matching finger less mitts. Sometimes I knit up matching socks to go with the scarf and mitt sets! Hugs!
Hi Chandi, I enjoy using DK weight yarn. I’ve never used Fingering or Sport weight but would love to someday. All of your yarn is beautiful
I usually use worsted, but I’ve come to love dk, sport, and fingering wt! These colors are amazing! Thanks for the opportunity to win.
My absolute favourite yarns come from Expression Fibre Arts, especially fingering weight as I feel it’s the most versatile. Chandi’s pattern suggestions and freebie patterns are all so wearable and her live sessions are amazing and fun x
Those are Beautiful autumn colors! I love DK and Worsted Weight or #3 and #4 yarn weights because perfect for garments, shawls, blankets, etc. more to make with… even thou I’m starting to be very keen on the fingering or #2 also.
Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Come on Lady Luck! Chandi, you asked my favorite weight of yarn and I have to say I am unable to choose. Maybe because I am still an amateur and all of the yarns you make are an exploration into unknown realms of passion. Lately I am playing with sugar-skull and flower motifs in my creations and the DK weight and heavier works up nicely. For speed I like the bulky weight yarns. Oh, and I haven’t started my lace weight project yet, but I’m just petting the fibers and imagining what I could turn them into.
I love all weights of yarn, but my recent favorite is fingering because I’ve fallen in love with lacy shawls, knitted or crocheted! I love your free patterns: Thank you! I’m on a limited craft budget, so I really appreciate them. Saving up to get a beautiful skien of your yarn someday!
My mom makes socks and this would be a beautiful birthday gift!
These are really beautiful colors! I keep telling myself that I have enough yarn and then something like this comes out! thankyou!
Love all your yarn. Tried most of them and I love especially Mirage , oasis ,. But I was very impressed by RESILIENT sock yarn. I do knit socks and that is so wonderful to work with . I also made some Shawls of Mirage And Cashsilk sock . Absolutely stunning. Thanks so much for you and your team for working hard to please all us knitting and crochet people. Looking forward to what’s next. Love , love all the Giveaway yarn .Thanks again.
Thank you again for the lovely giveaways you do! I don’t normally care for orange or brown shades but yours are really just lovely. My favorite weights of yarn to work with is lace, fingering and sport. I just love lightweight sweaters! Be happy and safe!!
Hello Chandi! I’m the kind of girl that thinks happiness is a new bag of yarn! Soooo many possibilities! My favorite weight is probably DK for the drape and for my not as nimble hands. Hope to win!
the yarn i use the most is worsted.
Chandi I have been knitting for about 9 years now. I started using worsted weight (4) because it felt easier to work with. I still like knitting with worsted, but I have been working with fingering weight (1) yarn. I like how my finished project looks when I use fingering weight yarn. I just looks so light and soft. I love your patterns and yarns.
oooooo, tough question…. really!
I love using all weights, lace weight upwards but then ‘hand dyed’ was introduced to the stash…oh dear..and at times, literally too dear.
Nope, not asking anyone to reduce what they’re asking for hand dyed yarns, but what I am finding, is that my project for hand dyed is becoming ‘cost driven’..exchange rate really sucks at times. So, I’m finding I can fund a sweater with hand dyed 4ply(generally 3-4 skeins) but a sweater in heavier yarn comes back to cheaper commercial dyed yarns. Heavier hand dyed become beanies, cowls etc, so one or two skein items.
Where I do get to dabble/splurge on the heavier weights, is when I can pick up some yumminess at a reduced rate via a Rav destash or as a trade for making something for another Rav’er.
i can’t make everything at once, but when I do get the chance to work with hand dyed on the heavier side it’s just that much more sweeter, satisfying and savoured…. and I think you respect the entire process and end result more when it’s not the norm.
Thank you again for another lovely giveaway..it’s a very down to earth treat for the lucky recipient.
Although, I enjoy working with all yarns from you; I prefer the sport weight to worsted, as they work up quickly.
I use a lot of fingering for shawls and spring/summer scarves. with practice I’ve been able to work on knitting and crocheting tops.
I love all the weights of yarn and have not purchased any yarn from other places. There is no comparison from the softness of your yarns to anything I’ve seen elsewhere.
thank you for the great patterns you give us for free.
Hello Chandi, my english is not good im writing in german now.
With best wishes Petra
Hello Chandi,
Your blog and weekly emails have helped get me inspired to begin crafting and working with my hobbies again. I have had a rough start to this year of 2020 but I have come out the other side ready to start fresh and see what can be done positively with the rest of this year.
For yarn weight I have become obsessed with DK and fingering weight fibers. I love the flexibility of these weights for use as gifts and can go from small pieces to large year long projects. I haven’t found a EFA product that has dissapointed yet! Keep the creativity train rolling!
So beautiful!! I love worsted. So soft, so Squooshy!!!
Oh wow these colors are fantastic, I love them! 😻 I suppose fingering weight is my favorite these days. There’s so much variety to choose from amongst all the Indie dyers, it’s almost impossible to decide what to cast on next! ❤️🧶❤️ I remember waaay back when I was a new knitter thinking that I would never be able to knit with such tiny little yarn. 🧶🥢🧶 It’s also the most practical weight to use when you live in the south. 😂 ☀️ 🥵 🚫❄️🌨
Hi Chandi. I hope you’re well. Your yarn always has me wishing that the world itself was made of yarn. I love Dk and sport weight yarn because they feel light and wonderful
I love the sheer variety of gorgeous hand dyed palettes available in fingering weght, and get more yards per dollar too!
Love you amazing giveaways … also love your amazing deals you offer regularly for many of your yarns … and wonderful patterns too.
Just wish I could afford buy such squishy beauty … my only hope is to win one of your giveaways.
My amazing Dad died a couple of days ago … and I know knitting is going to be a big part of helping me through the next several months.
I would love to be doing that knitting with such special yarn.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sending you love and I wish you comfort during this time. ❤️
I’m loving fingering and sport weight yarns right now because they’re light weight and produce beautiful stitches. Plus, if you want you have the option to double up the strands.
My favorite weight to work with is DK. As a crocheter it works for most projects that I find to make.
I love your work, yarn, and videos! You are always so positive and encouraging, it never fails to make me smile when I watch one of your videos.
Thank you! ❤️
My favorite yarn weight is fingering weight for how delicate the stitches look. I also like sport and worsted weight yarns.
My favorite yarn is probably sport, because it’s easy to work with and still produces a beautiful garment. It is so versatile and it allows me to finish more projects for the same amount of time. But I would love to try working with fingering weight because it looks beautiful!
These colors are beautiful! I don’t have a favorite weight, because I have limited or no experience with weights other than worsted.
My favorite weight to work with is DK weight! It knits up fast and beautifully
Hi, I would have to say finger weight or bulky the fabric looks more neat. Just beautiful!
Beautiful yarns from an amazing person! I love all weights of yarn, but the one I work with the most tends to be fingering weight because I LOVE LOVE LOVE knitting socks and shawls and fingering weight tends to be the yarn I gravitate towards for those projects. It’s also nice to get more yardage per dollar (which is why I also really love lace weight yarns).
This giveaway is absolutely beautiful. I like to use chunky yarn but also love worsted & DK weight. I would love to use fingering weight yarn – I need to expand my yarny horizons.
Lovely lace: Love the delicate things you can make. Fabulous fingering: a little easier to work with, so many colors. Definitely DK: The variety of patterns is astounding. Wonderful worsted: Projects fly off the hook. Buttery bulky (see what I did there?): Big, beautiful, breathtaking. (As for sport–I skip it.) 😉
I love all your beautiful yarns. Your color combinations are spectacular. I like working with dk weight yarn but love the look fingering weight gives to my knitting. So I guess I would have to say fingering weight. You have brightened many of my painfilled days. Thank you
I want to say sock weight yarn, because it always looks so lucious to work with, but in the end it just frustrates me. I am new to crochet, and my clumsy fingers always get the thinner yarn tangled or too loosely stitched up. The weight that always seems to work for me is 4 weight cotton. I hope to learn more. I would love to try out your gorgeous yarn!
As a total begginner in knitting, so far i like big chunky yarns as i find them easier to work with. I can see my stitches clearly and i’m less likely to loose stitches. But i plan on trying some fingering as i love the work of lace and would like to try it for myself.
I love a finger weight or lace weight yarn because of the drape that it gives a garment. Also I live in Australia and our winter months don’t last long. I am a big fan of all your yarn. They are so very very pretty.
Hi chandi, your giveaway contest is so encouraging for beginners like me. Hope to win the june contest. Fingerscrossed!!!
I use mostly fingering yarns because I make more socks and shawls than anything else. I do use lace weight yarn in some shawls. I occasionally use heavier weight yarns for other projects. I love your yarns and colorways!
Hi Chandi,
I’ve make some items from your yarn and they turned out beautifully. The color ways are simply lovely. Thanks for you continuing to give us tutorials, yarn giveaways but most importantly you words of encouragement.
I don’t really have a favorite weight as long as it’s aran or smaller. Bulky makes my hands ache.
I love a light worsted, especially if it has a silk element. I’m also a fan of DK and sport. (I feel like sport NEVER gets enough love!)
wow 😳 those hanks look amazing, love the coloures
yummy colors. will be using my coupon for my next project. I prefer sport and DK weight most times. I love the loft and drape of sport. I never make anything for me in larger than DK… don’t want to add bulk. And I only ever work in fingering ( not enough patience!) unless it’s on a 10 needle and a straight knit stitch which creates a lovely squishy open weave stole or scarf. My go -to ,carry -round project which then then a great gift for someone lucky.
Such a lovely and inspiring collection. I’m using the lighter weight yarns at the moment as it had been a bit on the warm side and I’ve not finished those projects yet! However, I do have a couple of dk baby blankets on the go! So squishy and cosy. 🙂 I’m loving all your purple variations. <3
Oh these are all so beautiful, I love the fingering weight also because it’s just so beautiful, but I’m excited to start with sport weight. My new obsession!
Hi!
My favorite is worsted. I find that it is incredibly useful. Also, I think that tweed yarns look fantastic in worsted
Hi Chandi!
I’m new to your blog and I’m so excited to be here. Your work is stunning!! My fave yarn weight is fingering, because I LOVE the drape, but who can really pick only one?? Thank you for such a generous offer. Crossing my fingers for that beautiful giveaway! 🤞🙏💗
It’s a hard decision, but my favorite weight of yarn to work with is fingering. (Like, seriously, more than half of my stash is fingering weight.) I’m not sure why exactly. Possibly because I can usually make a fun lacy scarf or small shawl in one skein. Although, now that I’m really thinking about this, the fact that I’ve got small hands probably is a factor as well.
Hello Chandi from Prince Edward Island Canada,
I have many favorite yarn weights to use from fingering to worsted.
thank you for the opportunity to win some of your beautiful colored yarn.
Sincerely
Laura Perry
Funny, I never saw these before. I have seen some of the blog which is very inspiring and I love to shop your colorways.
Anyway, my favorite weight of yarn is dk. It works well with my hands and drapes reasonably well too. It isn’t as heavy as worsted and it doesn’t take as long to make something beautiful with it as I feel fingering or lace does.
That said, I am most in love with your Oasis fingering because of both the colors and feel.
I tend to go for heavier or bulky yarn, such as, what we called Buffalo Wool back in the 1980s… up here in CANADA. I used to knit the Indigenous sweaters.. they were very popular back then , and quite expensive to buy, but they are so incredible. I am finally using up all of this fantastic wool that I purchased from the Hudson Bay Company, and my latest project is to make my very first pair of knee high socks..yikes… But I am wanting to knit with Merino wool or something similar. Knitting has not always been so easy as I had to teach myself to knit as a left hander. I really like the bulkier or thicker yarn as I like to see progress faster with projects. To me, I like to use the very best quality as there is my time, that is so valuable to me, and so, I do not want to waste it with poor quality yarn.
It is so very had to pick just one weight, but if I had to it would be fingering. I am lucky to live in a bit of a milder climate so if I knit something very large (so many of your larger wraps) it will keep me warm in the cooler months and yet makes beautiful lighter items for the heat of summer.
Absolutely love your yarns and the patterns are such an inspiration.
I love all your yarns! I have never felt yarn that works up so beautifully and “cuddly “. I have several yarns in a variety of weights to try all your different projects. I completed Villiers shawl and working on the Whirlwind scarf now. You have made being in quarantine much more fun and adventurous ☺️🌺🌻
I am making the sonder shawl. The pattern says to measure 9-1/2 inches before adding a new color. I am confused where to measure from? Is it the length of the knit two together edge? By the way I love your yarns! I have made several shawl kits for gifts and they have each been admired by many.
Sandra, correct! Measure along the decreasing, k2tog edge!
