My favorite summer memory is going out on the water and sailing from 10 am till 12 at night. If it was a work day, we always made sure to make time 2-3 times a week to have dinner on the boat together. Usually Greek pasta salad, Italian pasta salad, chips and cookies!! I can still smell the ocean water and feel the breeze when I close my eyes.
My favourite summer memories were always going camping at the lake with my family and fishing with my dad!
Thank you, Chandi..
Lovely giveaway yet again..
It has my kind of blue..
My favourite summer memory is definitely when I gave birth to my little boy..
All the memories are still so fresh..
Favorite summer memory is going to Sun River
Years ago I got to spend part of my summer in Oregon. I went to an art fair and found the absolutely perfect gift for my mother, a beautiful hand-painted silk. It still makes me smile.
Laying in the sun with my BFF and slathered in baby oil
My favorite summer memories are from middle school hanging out with my friends at the community pool, walking home in flip flops and getting ice cream from the ice cream truck!
Your colors are breath taking. I love the shades and colors you put together. Love love love. I can’t knit fast enough to enjoy all of it.
When I was younger, my mom, siblings and I would take road trips with my grandma in her RV and play with scarves we picked up at yard sales throughout our trip. Best year was when we went to Wisconsin and then on to the Corn Palace in South Dakota. We also watched the movie Polar Bear King on repeat the entire trip. Watch it if you haven’t seen it. Magic scissors are involved.
My favourite summer memory is actually just from last year — we went through the Rocky Mountains for the first time in my life. I was born and raised in the prairies, so this was a drastic change to the settings I’m used to. Climbing a mountain was almost completely unimaginable to me!
My favorite summer memories were all of the summer days spent haying and spending time on our horses when I was young.
One of my favorite memories is from the first summer I got to drive the truck & trailer through the hay field while the guys loaded it. I was only 12 and so thrilled to be ‘driving’. I never got over 10 mph but that was ok. LOL
I love the colorful pallet!! One of my favorite summer memories Is the year my family and I went to Yosemite national park and sat by the Merced river during sunset the colors were spectacular the singing birds and the sound of the river was just so relaxing and beautiful.
My favorite summer memory is getting to go up to my grandparents on the Canadian border. Picking berries, swimming at a near by lake, tending flower gardens, visiting with extended family. I miss those days.
My favorite summer memory last year was completing my first crochet Afghan! It had been a very tough year and completing something so challenging gave me a seismic of accomplishment and pride!
My favorite summer memory is of playing in the creek with my brother and our kingly cat, Sassy. We would all three hike down to a flat area we knew and play in the water. My brother and I would splash and look at fish and whatever while the cat lay in a nice calm, shallow area and kept an eye on us.
Camping with my family. Both when I was younger and after I had my own kids to take along
I loved climbing the trees every summer when I was a child.
When my kids were younger we lived in Fayetteville, NC … my sister and her kids lived in northern VA. We used to meet at Kings Dominion a couple of weekends each month during the summer. Those are fantastic memories!
Baseball games in the backyard with the neighborhood kids until midnight, because the sun was still up!
My favorite summer memory is spending time at the beach with my cousins
My favourite summer memory is floating in our swimming pool after a long day at work, and watching the swallows flying high at twilight.
Spending the summer at a campsite in the south of France with my family, putting pegs in my grandad’s hair and painting my dad’s nails… Fun times
My daughter birth was many summers ago, but I will cherish this memory forever. Thank you for this neautiful giveaway!
One of my favorite summer memories was a rare vacation as a kid. fishing and swimming all day, making new friends, time with my parents and all 5 siblings in one place.
I thought about my favorite memories of summer, and discovered I have quite a few very good ones–even though summer is my least favorite season! Let’s see. There was the time my aunt and uncle took my brother and I camping in a tent. Or the many family reunions always held the first Sunday in July (so the celebration usually fell quite near July fourth). Or the teen youth conferences I had attended at Gospel Light in North Carolina, I think I’d gone 3 years in a row. Or the last vacation we took in new Jersey to see some of daddy’s family–we went to see the Statue of Liberty, but didn’t go inside because it was scorching hot and my brother burst out crying when he saw the line… I’m pretty sure I wasn’t upset at not being able to go in…and we were able to see the twin towers from the harbor…ended up being about a month before the attack. So yeah I don’t think I have a favorite because it’s so hard to choose, they are each memorable for different reasons.
I never went to a summer camp, but one year my four cousins (Aunt D’s boys) and I were foisted off on Aunt E for a month. It was terrible. Aunt E. was no fun, just left us to our own devices, which mostly meant me indoors avoiding the cousins, who were a bunch of bullies. Even so, within a week I’d had 4 minor, but painful, injuries from them, and had to go back home. And that is my best summer memory – coming home from that miserable trip.
Ahhh, those colors!!
My favorite summer memories are all around going out in the RV with my family. Either on the road in the past, or now when we have it at a summer spot, I love getting away from everything, playing games at night, all the good food, the campfires. Even when it rained, it was always good (and I’ll never forget my daughter toasting a half bag of marshmallows while we packed out in a short break between rainstorms one time when she was very young).
Favorite summer memory was finally seeing Orcas in the wild. It was on my birthday in Washington. They were amazing, the Southern resident orcas. I even saw the whale I adopted – Spock. A dream I was blessed to live.
I think my favorite summer memory is when I went to visit my grandparents in Florida, we went swimming or to the beach every day.
I think my favorite summer memory is when I went to visit my grandparents in Florida, we went swimming or to the beach every day,and to museums.
I love remembering finding butterflies and squirmy worms with my daughter
My favorite summer memory is working for my father on the Presidio Army Base and driving a jeep for the first time. I became his ‘driver’ for the whole summer and loved working on cars and learning about them. My mom used to get so upset when I came home because my clothes were so dirty and I smelled like oil and gas. LOL, I loved it!
Favorite summer memory was baby shower for first grandchild.
My favorite summer memories spending 10 days in thailand, it was really great and I will never forget the friendly and helpful stuff in the hotel, because I was Ill. 😍
In the middle of nowhere, lying on the top of a station wagon, watching the Perseid Meteor shower, talking about everything and nothing.
Going on a picnic down by the creek and catching polywogs
My favorite and fondest memory that I hold close to my heart, meeting my grandson Drake. He was two years old. He ran up to me, hugged me so tight and said, ” I love you, grandma.” My eyes filled with tears.
My favorite summer memory was going to Universal Studios with my family and it just poured rain all morning. We decided to go anyway to the Harry Potter World and it was amazing. There were very few people in the park so we got on all of the rides right away and it was nice to be able to move around without bumbing into someone. The next day it was flooded with people. So im really really thankful for that rain because i got to experience the real magic of the place.
This is so exciting!!!! I loooove the yarn that I have purchased from you. The quality and the colors are amazing. Plus, I love your posts and videos!!! I hope I get to be the lucky one this month 🤗🤗❤❤🤞🤞🤞
Summer memories… when my children were little we went on vacation to Ocean City Maryland.
One of the days I took them crabbing it was so much fun to see them catching the crabs. We came back to the condo and cooked them up. Delicious!!!
Hi Chandi, thanks for yet another awesome giveaway! These colors are beautiful, not what I’m usually drawn to, but you’ve “sold me” on them with your luscious photos!! One of my favorite memories is going blueberry picking when I was a child (more than 50 years ago!). My parents and siblings would pile into the back of my oldest sister’s boyfriend’s beat-up pickup truck and head up the mountain to a a spot where wild blueberry bushes grew. My mom was a great baker and would bake up scrumptious treats with our pickings!
My favourite summer memory is a day at the seaside with my hubby and daughter last year, our daughter has a chronic illness and it was her first outing for years.
Favorite summer memory, staying up past bedtime for a late evening swim!
As a young girl I would day dream about galloping across a huge pasture on a beautiful summer afternoon with my horse and some great friends. That never happened, until, many years later and that will always be my favorite early summer day!!! The feeling was even better then I had ever expected . I hope I have several more favorites but to date that is by far the best memory on an early summer afternoon.
My favorite summer memory is staying at a cabin on Camino island ad doing all kinds of crafts with my daughters. No TV, just creative time together!
And yarn was always present for knitting and crochet!
I was about 10 and we had rented a house on a lake for a couple of weeks. My brother (12) and I decided to get up early and go fishing one morning…without our bossy 14 y-o sister. We got up at 5:00 in the morning, snuck out of the house, and quietly took the rowboat out. Picture it…soft dawn light, foggy mist hovering over the water, and the lake still as glass. Aaahhhhhh
My favorite was a cross country road trip we took in 2009
Definitely the big summer road trips with my mom. She’d always stop at tourist traps and historic sites.
I have fond memories of riding my bike around the neighbourhood for hours during the summer.
My favorite summer memory is of Lake George, NY. My father used to rent a cabin for us in the summers and drive the boat up there. I learned to jet ski there & had my 1st kiss in the arcade at the cabin rentals rec cabin. LOL!
My favorite memory of summer is eating icecream, having a braai (South African barbecue) with friends while the kids are having a swim. Then in the hot summer evenings I whip out my crochet project or knitting project in front of the tellie and crochet/knit away…
Playing in the local stream with all of my friends We spent hours in there splashing and playing.
My favorite memory of summer is camping with my siblings in Michigan and canoeing up north.
I work in a national park, where the night skies are very dark. Every August I drive up the mountain road to watch the Perseid Meteor Shower. You can see so many meteors if you stay long enough. I look forward to it all year, because it’s one of the few star-watching events I can actually see. It’s pretty cloudy here the rest of the year….
What a cool job!
My favorite May memories are of my father & him taking us camping and fishing. Being so close to Mother Earth and Father God. The Milkyway so close you could almost reach up and touch the stars.
Yes, there is nothing quite like being out in nature. ❤️
My parents and I used to go camping during the summers when I was young. Often it would rain at least once during the week. I still love the sound of heavy raindrops on canvas.
Thanks for sharing your lovely memory.
We lived in Guam for 6 year when my children were little. During the summer we went to the beach or the pool everyday. We packed lunches, snacks, and drinks, and soaked up the sun. By the end of summer we sported super dark tans.

What a lovely memory. 😍
I love knitting and crocheting in the outerbanks NC on the porch watching the surf crash on the beach.
That sounds wonderfully calming. 😊
Favorite summer memory? Why, the summer my grandmother taught me to knit, of course! I was six 🙂
Fun, fun, fun!
My favorite summer memory is when I was a kid, my cousin (aka one of my best friends) came to visit for a few weeks. We hadn’t gotten to see each other as much since her parents divorced, but she was back. And, like always, nothing changed between us. It was like no time had passed even though I hadn’t seen in her a couple of years. We got matching outfits. We pretended that we were mermaids in the pool. We hung out. 20+ years later, we’re still great friends no matter what happens in our lives
It is great when friendships last a lifetime. ❤️
My favorite summer memory is sleeping under the stars on my dad’s work boat and going to New Point lighthouse. He still is a Chesapeake Bay waterman at age 74.
What a fun memory!
My favourite Summer memory(ies) is the feeling of being with the people you love, doing nothing and just enjoying the moment.
There is nothing quite like that feeling. 😊
My favourite summer memory is of the day I married my husband on the lovely Greek island of zante!
We stood on the beach with the sun beaming down on us, glistening the detailing of my beautiful wedding dress, admiring the breath taking view of the crystal clear turquoise sea. I couldn’t take my eyes off my amazing husband, nor the smile off my face. I felt completely overwhelmed with happiness and love! The most amazing moment of my life. Xxx
That would be amazing! ❤️❤️
When I was 10, my family of 6 (2 parents+4 kids) spent 5 weeks one summer vacation driving a conversion van in a big loop around the United States. We slept in an old hand-crank pop up camper at campgrounds, visited national landmarks and parks, and visited our far-flung relatives. It was an amazing experience, and I hope to do something similar with my family some day!
My favorite summer memory is about riding my bike to the local neighborhood park and staying there all day — playing softball, basketball, four square, etc. and doing crafts. I would come home for lunch and then go back until dinner time.
My favourite summer memories are when I was a kid and would ride my bike with my friends with not a care in the world!
I loved catching fireflies on warm summer evenings.
All of this!
Spending part of my summers with my favorite Aunt & 2 cousins–1 was 6 months older than I & her sister was 6 months younger…We went camping & swimming & I always learned so many things from my Aunt. She is very talented! It was just amazing to be with them. My Aunt is 83 now & like a mother to me!
eating feijos straight of the feijoa bush under the summer sun when we were playing hide and seek and my cousins couldnt find me 😉
Favorite summer memory … spending time with my grandparents on the farm.
my favorite summer memories as a child are going to Louisiana to visit my granny and my aunt & uncle.
My favorite summer memory is going to Beach Haven Crest beach at my aunt’s house and spending time with her at the beach with my family.
Hi, Chandi! My favorite summer memory is that each and every summer while growing up our family would pack up the car (4 kids + parents) and drive all night. When I would wake up, we would be at Myrtle Beach for a wonderful week in the sun. I so looked forward to that every year.
What a lovely summer memory!
My favorite summer memory is going to the beach as a child, and looking at the waves
My favorite summer memory is spending the day on the lake, waterskiing and lazing in the sun with my friends.
Road trips!!! My family always took road trips down south during the summer. The Carolinas, Virginia, Georgia. Wherever family lived. There were four of us kids so we couldn’t afford the luxury vacations overseas. Any body of water was our tropical Island!! Lol 🤣. I still take road trips with my two boys every summer. Now we usually go to Erie PA and Virginia to visit family. I hope my boys remember these trips as fondly as I did. Such fun bonding time!!
Yes to family road trips! ❤️❤️
Both of my parents are teachers so summers were when we did our best family time. Picnics, bonfires, swimming, SEAFOOD! I remember being very small and my dad taking me to a local “castle” to feed geese, I found a marble and he convinced me it was a jewel from the princess’s tiara. My amazing creative parents and my silly siblings, a million mixed up memories, summer is a part of me 😍
Those colors are breathtaking, I love them all. I loved summer because I had time to knit and sew and read in my spare time. We didn’t have air conditioning so we would go down to the basement where it was cool, it was a walkout basement so lots of light streaming in the windows and we had the most comfy couch down there.
One of my favorite things to do in summer was to go to Busch Gardens. It was the church picnic destination most years (more fun than Kings Dominion) but it was great because once we got there, we didn’t have parental supervision, lol! All the older kids looked after the younger ones that could keep up and everyone trusted that we’d all lookout for each other and we did. You didn’t have to worry like you do nowadays but if you got caught acting crazy by a church member, you got punished twice…once by them and again after they told your parents, hehehe. We made sure we didn’t get crazy and if we did, didn’t get caught ;). We’d always eat at Das Festhaus in “Germany” and always stopped in “France” for vanilla fudge before we left. Good times 🙂
my favorite summer memory was few yrs ago, my friends and i were visiting the fingerlakes area in NY.
It happened to be july 4th wkend and we wanted to see fireworks so we went to a nearby very small, rural town.
It turned out to be spectacular (and I’ve been to Macy’s NYC one before), they had beautiful lanterns and fireworks on the water and a little girl standing next to me was absolutely thrilled, jumping and squealing with delight the whole time.
absolute pure joy and such a fun memory shared with a perfect pintsize stranger 🙂
as a child, I loved to spend the summer in the garden of my grandparents
there were so many things to do and to discover
now I dream to have my own little garden to enjoy the life outside and to watch the birds here in Australia
Gorgeous yarns! One of my favorite summer memories is going camping with our kids. We always had the best time. No one ever wanted to go home.
Summer vacation meant traveling to Kalamazoo, Michigan to Gramma and Grandpa’s house …my poor mom would come to take us home and we’d beg for more time. They were the best weeks of summer.
My favorite summer memory is probably going to the beach with the whole family, my in-laws, my husband’s brothers and sister, with all of our children! Now that all our children are older it never works out for everyone to be able to go at the same time. I miss those summer trips!
Favorite summertime memory is walking the beach of Lake Michigan with my son. He would search for “treasure” along the shore and run back to show me what he found–an oddly shaped rock washed by the tides or a gull feather or a seed pod of some unknown tree or shrub. Why don’t they make bathing suits with pockets for moms?
One of my favorite summer memory is from last summer, my first real family vacation with my then 4 y.o. daughter. We rented a cabin by a lake, we just spent time outside, enjoying the quiet and the water. I remember watching the shooting stars, we were there in the period they pass by almost every 5 minutes!
And mostly I remember just drinking my hot coffee on the porch in the early hours of the morning, with a blanket wrapped around my legs and a book in my hands, in the few moments we have before the sun starts warming up the day….
My favorite summer memory is when my siblings and I would go on family picnics every Sunday and have fun playing games and running around in the park.
My favorite summer memory is spending a month at my grandparent’s house when I was 6 or 7 years old. I loved going to their house and exploring all the rooms and seeing all of their furniture and trinkets, or their “memories”. It felt like a castle to me. Every day my grandparents had something for all the kids to do outside. My favorite activity was the simple slip and slide that they had in their huge yard. To this day I still I can still feel the magic of that time I spent at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.
My favorite summer memories was riding my bike to Lake Michigan, fishing for smelts.
My favorite summer memory is my sister and I pretending we were mermaids. We went to crescent beach in SC and be in the ocean all day. This was at a time when the beach was pristine, no hotels at all in the beach. We would walk to the beach every day and start our mermaid adventure.
My favourite summer memory was when I was a teen. I was lucky enough to have grown up on a farm. There was a woods full of berries and closers like trillions. We had a pond that we swam and fished in and had a huge yard to have friends pitch tents to spend the night. We also had the most amazing bonfires where we would eat marshmallows, Smores and hotdogs. All great country fun
Hi Chandi,
I live in The Netherlands and in may begins spring. The birds picking my yarn I dyed in the garden and they making nests of it. So lovely to see, al kinds of birds are so busy making there nest.
I like to go to the woods in spring. The smell of the trees, the birds singing, and the walk trough the woods with my dog, I love it. It gives me a good feeling. And that is my holliday that I love for ever…..
Greetings, Marga from The Netherlands.
Family Vacations!!! And camping trips !! And this year I look forward to sitting on the front porch in the evenings knitting a baby blanket for my baby due in November😊
I live in a tropical climate where summer is almost everyday!!! I love to swim in the morning suns to get some good tan! 🙂
My favorite is….putting on our bathing suits. Driving down to the water. Trying to not burn our feet on the hot road or sand as we walked down to the beach. OH cool / cold water. So nice on a very hot day.
My favorite memory of summer was going to Florida with my family and our dog Biscuit. He is our first dog, and my parents thought we had to put him in the dog carrier on the x-ray belt, and TSA freaked out. “There’s a dog in there,” has become an inside joke in our family, and I will never forget how much fun it was to take our dog to the beach for the first time.
Lol! what a cute story.
My favorite summer memory was when I was about 4 or 5 and my mom and dad were still alive, we went to a cabin at a lake and had so much fun that summer. There was a huge weeping willow tree nearby and i loved lying on my cot and looking out the window, watching the branches blow in the wind!
Favorite summer memories are of summers that seemed to last forever, hanging out with friends and sleepovers “under the stars.”
One of my favorite summer memories would be me meeting boyfriend now husband, so glad I was working that day!
Fireflies! I was in my 60s the first time I saw one!
