2018 was such a whirlwind year. My best memory was a bittersweet one. I had the honor of watching my son graduate High School. This brought all the precious memories of him growing up, first words, steps, first day of school and the last. A few weeks later, we moved him into his dorm. I so missed my baby boy, but couldn’t wait to see my sweet child develop into a young man with his future bright ahead. I did knit him his traditional new hat for school though!

Watching my daughter plan her wedding.
HI,
Just wanted to share my Favorite thing about 2018. We just got back from vacation, we haven’t been on a vacation in 23 years! He wanted to go to Disney but not during the summer months so he suggested the last to weeks in OCT. My birthday is the 18th and while we were down there we got to do Disney’s Dolphins in Depth behind the scenes tour. It was amazing! I got to spend the day with the hubs, my favorite birthday present (my son, he turned 25 on the 18th as well) AND dolphins!
And now I get to come back to home remodeling and making a blanket for the hubby man and a scarf (from your bulky yarn collection) for my son!
Good times, good times!
Regards,
Cyndi Parks

Fave memory…seeing my grandma go from death’s door to being able to use a walker & feed herself. The kinds of activities I so often take for granted that I’m able to do. For a couple months she was bed bound & the outlook was grim. I love visiting her & seeing her animated & alert & moving around! I hope we have many more years together. She’s 92 & my only remaining grandparent. Actually, she turns 93 just before Thanksgiving. 😲😁👏🏻
Thanks for asking, Chandi! Did you share yours somewhere above? 😉 You express gratitude daily, but I’m sure some moments are more treasured than others.

My favourite memory of 2018 is my little girl starting school!
My favorite memory for this past year has been watching our kids in our new house. I guess that makes it one big, awesome year, but that’s what it is. We were finally able to find a house big enough for all of us (10 in total) and it’s been amazing.
My favourite 2018 moment so far is tied between 3.
The 1st is taking my mum on a spur of the movie late night movie run to see Christopher Robin at a tiny local 4 screen theater (that doubles as the town’s cultural center). ❤ Mum and I don’t get to do things like that often so it’s always special when it happens.
The 2nd moment was getting to go to a PBR (Professional Bull Riders) event. When we got there not only did we run into a cousin we hadn’t seen for ages who we had no idea was going and had, coincidentally, bought tickets right next to each other, but because reserve seats hadn’t sold as well as the venue had hoped we all (cousin too) got free upgrades from $15 seats to $75 seats!
And the 3rd moment was just a few weeks ago. Mum had just picked me off the bus from work and we had to stop at the grocery before going home. When we went to turn down a parking lot aisle we discovered someone had just left a cart right in the middle of the intersection. It had been a very long week so when I saw the cart I blurted out an incredibly frustrated “wtf is this jacka**ery?!” Mum just absolutely lost it, laughed until she cried. She was still giggling when I came out of the store. She still giggles when she thinks about.
My baby granddaughter held out her arms for me to hold her.
My favorite memory of 2018 has been cumulative, rather than one specific thing. I love all of the little parts of each day: such as snuggles with my kids, when my dog looks back over his shoulder with his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth, when my husband picked me up from work with both kids and both huge dogs in the car, and spending time with my friends.
My favorite memory of 2018 is spending time with my boys, watching them play sports they enjoy

My favorite 2018 memory is visiting my adult kids at their homes!!
My adult daughter visited, we stayed up all night talking, then watch the sunrise. I got to tuck her in like when she was a little girl. Not to break the Rockwell moment, but just before she fell asleep she said…
” Mom don’t ever say you left us, you were forced out”. There’s a long sad story behind those words but it was wonderful to hear her say that.

My favorite memory of 2018 was back in April when i gave birth to baby #5 on my birthday. Nothing like celebrating turning 33 by having your last baby!
Favorite memory of 2018: taking my 10 year old pier fishing for his first time. He pulled in fish right and left on our little trout rods while everyone around us with their saltwater rigs were getting skunked. He was so proud of himself. He threw his last piece of bait in the water as I packed our gear and caught a huge sting Ray. Luckily, it broke his line because I don’t know how we would have pulled it up. But we got pictures and he was as excited as a ten year old boy could be.
My favorite moment was seeing my son perform in the state festival band competition!!
Best moment of 2018 is my husband getting the all clear for His skin cancer. He is my everything.

My favorite memory of 2018 is a double edge sword. It is every clearly my husband’s 40th birthday party. All he asked for was a cake handmade by me using all the skills I have worked hard on. Hopefully the kids and I will be able to head down south at Thanksgiving to visit my grandma and their great grandmother. We have not seen her in years.
My favorite memory of 2018 (so far) is the retirement luncheon my coworkers had for me. It had been a great ride – a challenging and rewarding job, fabulous people to work with – but one day I realized that it was time to stop and do something else. Best thing in 2018 was going back to my old stomping grounds and working Preakness weekend at Pimlico again. I moved away from Maryland a couple of years ago so had missed Preakness 2017. It was SO MUCH FUN seeing all my old co-workers & bosses and feeling the electricity once again. I hope I can go in 2019 … and be there during Maryland Sheep and Wool festival. I missed the festival this year because of family obligations 🙁

There are so many favorite memories to pick from. But I think think the one that stands out the most as a favorite 2018 memory would be watching my daughter cheer at her high school football games. She’s a freshman this year and at their last football game they did a youth night. The cheerleaders taught girls as young as 3 years old and as old as 8th graders cheers, stunts and dances to perform on the sideline during the game and during half time. It was so much fun to watch.

My favorite memory of 2018 would have to be when my husband handmade me a beautiful card and built me a knitting/craft nook (for all my projects) for our 10th anniversary! But the best part was what he wrote in the card, he wrote “I may not be able to give you all the horses you would love to have, but what I can give you is my love for the rest of my life and whatever may come after that.” It still makes me teary eyed every time I see the card!

I started selling my crochet products this year and to watch my page grow one day at a time , to have people ask for my products and then come back for more has been such a pleasure . It made me realize, you only have to take that first step , that plunge towards what you love . And things will follow . So my favorite memory of this year was to see my mum talk about my work with pride !
My favorite memory of 2018 (so far) is a small, personal thing … I read, or possibly even re-read (I truly cannot remember!), a book that lifted my spirits and encouraged me to view the current sociopolitical events — in which we have found ourselves so thoroughly immersed — from a longer view. Steven Pinker’s “The Better Angels of Our Nature” (2011) is the book. It lays out logically and painstakingly the progress we as humans have made … to the point that we are now living in the most peaceful time in all history. It’s a hopeful reminder as we seem now to see all sorts of tensions simmer between global and local concerns, modernity and tradition, professional opportunity and family ties to a specific place, etc. Thanks for asking!
Fave memory was my mom’s surprise 70th birthday party!

I knit hats in the round for charity. I combined left overs of a plain off-white yarn with a variegated yarn with colors about 3-4 stitches long. The Variegated had white, alternating with omber green, blue and brown. I alternated rows of the two. It made a beautiful hat! A member of the receiving charity modeled the hat even though it was too small for her and posted the photo on Facebook. Made my day when the organization sent me a thank you with many members signing and commenting on my contribution!

I treasure each and every memory made during those two months, because I’m not sure when we will get another chance to visit like that. My favorite memory from this year was right around mile 6 of a half marathon here in Humboldt County in the redwoods on Avenue of the Giants. It was an absolutely beautiful morning, the trees were so lovely, and on my running tape I suddenly had “Happy” by Will Pharrell. There’s that line where he sings “Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof.” Here I’m running (feeling really great) along this spectacular avenue surrounded by redwoods, and I looked up to the top of those marvelous trees and I really did feel like I was in a room without a roof. I almost started crying it was so perfect.

My memory of 2018, there are lots, which to add? Every day has become a memory. One of the best could be the times I spent with my children. Having started full-time work last December after a long time being around my children, the time I took off to be with them was the best realization of how much I missed them. It was like a race against time. Planned some outings, movies, bakes, shopping and very happy that my children and I completed all the planned activities. Finally exhausted back to work.
Best energy ever.

But he helps out when I need him. The one in the spring was part of our local spring fair, so the hours are really long (14 hours on Friday and Saturday). My husband came to cover the last few hours for me on Friday night, and when he got home afterward, he was almost a little emotional as he told me how inclusive the other vendors were with him. My favorite memory of 2018 is when my niece and her daughter changed plans and came to visit my dad instead of my mom dad and brother driving to visit them. My dad had been in the hospital for 3 days and had emergency dialysis, and was not in any shape to travel. My nice wrangled my 2 year old great niece and came to visit him. A trip to Costa Rica to officiate a wedding for a beautiful young woman I’ve known and loved since she was a teenager, and while there had the extraordinary experience of zipping over the ocean in a boat, feeling the wind and spray, and feeling my dad (who died in 1975) right there next to me so strongly that I spent 90 minutes (twice that day) grinning and crying in love and joy and gratitude. It warms my heart to be able to create love with my craft and give it with love. <3

My brother and his girlfriend told everyone else who got to hospital before me that they weren’t letting any hold him yet. As soon as I got there I had been prepared that no one was holding him yet, then momma placed him in my arms. They told me they wanted me to hold him first. I don’t cry easily but that teared me up and I stood there holding him for over an hour. My mom (grandma) was SO jealous lol.
Definitely best memory of 2018!
Delish selection indeed! xo

Family summer vacation road trip across the country and back.
This year has been crazy, as we moved from Illinois to Texas this summer. It’s been filled with lots of ups and downs, and I’m hard pressed to pick my favorite memory. The between the relief of selling our house within 24 hours of it going on the market and the memories of our last party in Illinois (combined birthday party for my 12 and 2 year old) would both be up there. The kids had so much fun! Finally getting to our new house in Austin after driving all night would also be on the list. My favorite, though, would probably be watching my toddler realize how much fun it is to swim with his daddy and his brother and sister. Everyone was just so happy and having a great time.
Using handmade, hand dyed yarn for the first time.

My favorite memory of 2018 was being in Scotland with my husband and touring the island of Islay with all of the whiskey distilleries and sheep! It made me want to settle in with a glass of scotch and knit!

This has been a really rough year for me and some of my family, but the best thing about this year is the time I was able to spend with my grandchildren and the long walks in the sunshine with my husband.
This year would be a year to forget – especially me being a Brazilian with such gloomy perspectives for the next four years – except for the very best of the news: I’m going to be an aunt!
My stepbrother told us in Easter he was going to be a father. My little niece is expected next week. But this is a memory still to be created. My favourite memory so far is another.
It’s the day my brother, who is living in Portugal, called me on my way back home after work and asked me if I was home already. He told me to call him when I arrived. I entered home saying to my husband: “I think they’re pregnant!” And it was that! He and my sister-in-law had been trying for years, and they did it only a month after she arrived in Portugal! I’ll be an aunt of a little Portuguese next year!

My favorite 2018 memory is being able to fulfill the number one thing on my lifetime bucket list, which was to see wild horses up close and personal – always dreamed of seeing them since I was really young. My husband and I went to North Dakota for a wedding and traveled to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Medora. We took a 9.1 mile hike through the ND Badlands and prairie and ran across several small bands of horses – two of which walked past us, no more than 15 feet away. It was amazing!
So far my favorite memory was taking a multi-day sailing lesson trip in the San Juan Island chain. We liked it so much that my longtime partner and I will be eloping over Thanksgiving on the islands as well. That will probably become my new favorite memory 😀
My favorite memory of 2018 would probably have to be my vacation.
My favorite memory of 2018 is our trip to the National Parks out West. Saw things I only know from magazines and travel brochures.

My parents sold the house where I was born and they moved into a home… 3 moves in 3 months! My best memory of this year will have to be waking up near the man I love every morning! 😉
I managed to create a couple of coasters using the Krokbragd weaving method, I think that is my favorite memory of 2018 so far. I managed to see some of my family, but it was not a happy occasion, but seeing them would be a good memory!
Favorite memory of 2018 is getting the all clear on my biopsy.
A cruise to Cuba with family members.
I’ve had several good memories for this year (amid many less than favorite ones). I think one of the best is actually an ongoing one. I now watch my niece nearly every day since my SiL returned to work. This is my SiL and her husband’s first (and possibly only) child. Both parents were raised with several siblings, so there were options. The amount of trust and faith that has been placed in me is staggering. The beautiful smile I get every morning when she gets here is one of the best ways to start the day.
Wow, those pictures are amazing. The yarn is gorgeous and it would be really hard to pick a favorite (but I’m sure I could if given the chance). Thanks for having these give-aways.
Special year this year, my parents celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in August!

Every. Single. Day. (And surviving breast cancer and the side effects of treatment and tamoxifen.)

We have had a pretty rough year. The best man in our wedding died in a motorcycle accident. I had to have a procedure on my heart. Both of my hisband’s parents were diagnosed with cancer. My husband separated his shoulder. We are looking forward to thanksgiving with family. I have to work over Christmas. Mostly, we are just looking forward to 2019 being a better year!
My best and most favorite memory for 2018, getting my house finished and getting to more in; after having been living in an RV for the past three years. Everything is out of storage, three less bills that have to be paid each month, and best of ALL I have a CRAFT Room; now all I need is some yarns to keep my hands busy in that craft room. With 18 grand-children and 6 children; I have lots of orders for knitted items each year.
Good luck everyone,
Catherine
My favorite memory this year is reconnecting with old friends and making some new friends…and we all love to crochet and knit!
My fav memory of 2018 is the look on my moms face when I showed up for a surprise visit, she lives with her sister now as both lost their husbands with in 5 days of each other (yes my Uncle passed away on 8/29/17 & my step father died 9/2/17) and my Aunt had been away from the house to tend to a family member (don’t want to air their business here) and my mom had been sounding rather down so I decided that week that since my mom is so close (now only a 4hr drive away) I would hop over the mountain for a weekend visit 😉UNANNOUNCED. It was priceless to see her light up as I walked up to the front door. ♥️
Finishing our farm bankruptcy! It was a restructure..but its done after 6 years!

Visiting YARNDALE for the first ever (and definitely not the last!) time!
My favorite memory of 2018, I’d say my nephew and his new baby boy, visiting myself and my senior mom in AZ! What a good, adorably huggable baby. It was such a joy to see my nephew ‘love on’ his son, what a good dad he is! What a good grandson he is, to make the long trip so his Grannie could meet her new great grandson. I want to add, that Chandi’s yarns are just more and more beautiful to me now than ever before! For her to provide 2 lovely giveaways a month, is simply so generous! I am not technically minded; however, I searched how to ‘tag’ someone on Instagram, to simply give the Instagram giveaway a try! LOL…but, I did it! I only crochet/knit donated items, and only have used donated yarns. I simply can’t buy yarns with my disability income; however, I can TRY for a giveaway! Why not, right?! I might even make an exception to make something for myself! I’ve never made anything for myself, and that sock yarn looks so SCRUMPTIOUS!! All sorts of THANKS being sent out to Chandi for providing these giveaways to us each month…she doesn’t have to, and it makes for some fun! Thanks to the Hubby for the photo’s too! 🙂
Moving to Indiana

Best memory?? Too many to pick from. It was a year of many changes and beautiful memories. Saw my 80 yr old mother work diligently to regain her health following a major heart surgery. She is now in the best shape in years and living life to its fullest. Or was it my husband and I relocating 3 states away after living in the same area all of our 60+ yrs of life. Relocating to an area where we can spend time with our daughter, granddaughters and great Grandbabies. Was it sitting on our new patio and watching our babies run and play. Was it embracing my 60th birthday with family?? Oh you ask a difficult question. Guess the simple truth, I have been blessed with a beautiful life and cherish all of the memories
My favorite memory from 2018 is going on a trip to the coast of California with a couple of friends. We went to a singles conference and then spent a day stopping at different spots to look out at the ocean on our way home.
My favorite memory of 2018 was that I knitted a beautiful Kep. Yay!
Thanksgiving 2017 was a blast. I spent Wednesday baking beautiful pies with my then 12 year old grandson. We are going to reprise the fun this year with a few new challenging recipes. Plan to create corn husk place decorations filled with chocolate covered sunflower seeds in autumnal colors, imitating Indian corn with third grandson, now 9 years old. Time together is the best investment I can make when we live ten hours away.
My favourite memory of 2018 was watching my son graduate from senior public school with honours. My 6’2″ “baby” is in highschool now!
Thank you for having this giveaway Chandi.
My favorite memory of 2018 is hearing my husband tell me for the first time that I’m the love of his life and I’m his best friend. We’ve gone through some deep valleys in our marriage, most which were out of our control, and we stuck by each through them all. Now we’re reaping the rewards because our love and relationship is stronger than ever.
My favorite memory of 2018 was when my husband finished putting up the swing set and our grandson swung in it for the first time, ever! Pure delight on his little face <3

My favorite memory of 2018 is how I met my newest friend. We have daughters the same age, and hers has severe social anxiety. My daughter walked up to her, said hi, they joined hands and started walking/playing together. My friend and her husband were shocked that their daughter was so open to mine. They’ve been inseparable since! 💜
My favorite memory of 2018 is the road trip we took to celebrate my husband’s having turned 50. Seeing my daughter’s best friend, they have been friends for 35 years! I feel like I helped raise her as she was at our house a lot. She and her 3 kids came to a Halloween party that my daughter co-hosted. But the visual memory that I see everyday is the birthday card that my grandson made me. He drew on the front, then write a nice message inside on the left side, in the right side he wrote “this page has no meaning”, puts a smile on my face everday!

Best memory of 2018? My husband is seriously ill (paralyzed since November 12, 2017 from an unexplained medical event), and I realized that I would have to move while he was still hospitalized–needed a one story house. The whole time I was looking for a house, I was thinking about how I was going to pay for the move. I think the best memory of 2018 has to be when the owner of the company I work for told me that he would cover our moving expenses. He had a relationship with the owner of a moving company, had them come pack up, move us, and paid for it all. God bless him!

Then lost my cat, Jax, in October. But the best part of 2018 was learning to knit. I began teaching myself in January through books and YouTube. My favorite memory? Well, 2018 has been quite the year… I think one of my favorite memories involves knitting and crocheting (pretty usual…). I finished a shawl and a pair of mitts for my oldest friend for her upcoming 60th birthday. Seriously, we’ve known each other since we were 8 years old. She came hobbling in to the 2nd grade room on crutches and the teacher said to me, “You need to take care of her.” And for… Oh, what? 52 years and counting? That’s been the case. Ups and downs; periods of not speaking; reconciliations; family ties… We’ve seen just about all of it. And we’re still friends, bedrock to each other. I finished her gifts using EFA’s “Stone Tulips” because I feel like it was dyed especially for her – her favorite colors, color combo = pinks + greys. This was an amazing bit of synchronicity and one of my favorite memories, because I’m anxious to see how she likes them and hoping that she knows the time and care with which they were created.

My favorite memory of 2018 is when I took my toddler to the zoo for the first time while vacationing in Pittsburgh, she loved it!
my best memory is the morning of May 3, 2018. It was a regular Thursday. I drove my youngest son, Sammy to a yard job for a friend, we chatted about nothing in particular. She drove him home. Sammy was mentally handicapped, so he never drove tho he rode his 24 speed everywhere, especially to the pier and beach. I was getting ready to go to lunch with another friend when he got home. Sammy stopped to play with our cat Chester for a few minutes, chattering all the while to me & my husband, Erle He hopped on his bike, rode a couple blocks to see his friend Jeff at the bike store to see if he wanted a coke. then Sammy rode on over to the Dollar General, got Cokes for them both. He dropped one off for Jeff & came on home. He came in & started fixing his lunch as I left to go pick up lunch for my friend and my self to have at her home.I remember reminding my son that he had a job for that afternoon with another lady down the street & to e careful at her house. He told me to be careful driving…that is the end of my favorite memory..
NOW for the rest of the story…about 15 minutes after I left, I received a panicked call from my husband – Erle is 86, has mild dementia. My son had eaten lunch, they were sitting at the table talking, Sammy offered Erle some more water to drink & then got quiet, after a minute Erle looked up – as he did he saw Sammy seem to bow his head down slowly, pop it up & then he fell over on the floor – gone from a brain aneurysm….my husband then panicked calling to tell me that he couldn’t revive my son. I had just passed the end of our road driving from picking up lunch for my girlfriend & myself, I immediately turned around & was home in less than 2 minutes. As I walked in, I was dialing 911 & immediately began CPR, then the EMTs took over as they arrived…it was too late. my son was 35. The last morning of his life will always be one of my favorite memories – the ordinariness of our time, the innocence of not knowing what was to come in just a few minutes…treasure each moment you have together, it may be your last with a loved one.
What a amazing give away. My favorite memory of 2018 is of all my friend that I knit with on Tuesday.

What beautiful yarn! Living in a small Alaskan community I’ve grown up watching my grandmothers and aunts knitting, everyone had very big families and those wonderful ladies would knit socks, hats, gloves, and scarves for every grandchild, son, and daughter. Since I’ve learned to knit about a year ago I’ve been busy knitting those things because most of the older knitters are now gone. I get requests almost daily at work to make warm socks to go into our moose skin boots. So this year’s favorite memory was when I learned how to do a German shortrow heel! It has saved me so much time, I’ve made about 20 pairs so far and I have at least thirty more socks to make before next summer.

Even then, I still wasn’t in much pain. I think the trouble sleeping was from suddenly feeling so much better.

My favourite memory was our trip to Portugal, where my boyfriend proposed to me! And that wasn’t even the best part.
My father is very strictly religious, and when my boyfriend and i moved in together that did not go well with him. We had a lot of fights, and eventually we didn’t have much contact at all.
Before our trip, my boyfriend went to see my father to ask him for my hand, and when he told him we would be open to a religious marriage (not being religious ourselves, but knowing this would mean the world to him, my father hugged him, welcomed him into our family and even cried.

He’s been suffering so badly. It was an indescribable burst of joy to see him walking without pain.😁

We lived in a house for 14 years and had to move because our beloved landlord passed away… We were devastated! The place that we are staying in now has no place that I can purchase yarn in over 40 miles. The addresses here sometimes are not deliverable, so even if I try to order on-line I can’t even have things delivered here. My most favorite memory of this year happened recently. My precious sister-in-law sent me a package of yarn via UPS (which delivers to home addresses in this area). I cried I was so happy to receive the yarn. My favourite 2018 memory will always be the birth of my second son. He was born on his Daddy’s birthday, at home before the midwife even arrived. His big brother (2 yrs) was there helping sing me through the first parts of labour and we were surrounded with the serenity of home. I caught Oliver Wylde myself, in the waterbirth of my dreams, and he made me a Mama for the second time, my first son became “big brother” which has been a world altering adventure all over and over again. Learning lessons from the moment I pulled him out of the water about just how capable humans are to love. Ollie is my grounding force, while his big brother has been my light, and that is what I will remember and remain grateful for always, from 2018. <3

Hello from Homer Alaska!
My most treasured memory (so far) of 2018… watching my 24 year old daughter make the most important choice of her life. She chose to walk away from years of struggling with drugs and other things, that were killing her. she stepped up and is embracing her new life, with her two beautiful children and fiancé. The thought of this reality brings more joy and peace than I ever hoped for. Years of worry, heartache and madness that dang near destroyed us all, this is truly the most beautiful moment a mother can experience , isn’t it?, given the circumstances..
I have to go dry my eyes now, thank you for asking the question, I hadn’t actually had a moment to reflect on it, obviously.. lol
You are a beautiful hearted lady and I really appreciate your positive messages and thoughtful words you share. Very cool, : )
Sorry for the mini novel.. lol
Sincerely,
Brooke

My girlfriend was coming to visit me in July and I was expecting her to arrive on a Wednesday. Monday morning, at about 2:30 am, I woke from sleep thinking I had heard a doorbell but it was so distant in my head that I figured it had either been my neighbor’s (I live in an apartment) or that I had dreamt it. I settled back into my pillow, but then I heard it again, quite clearly and loud this time. I tried to look out my bedroom window but the eave of the first floor roof blocked my view. I stumbled downstairs confused and unsteady with heavy sleep. I looked out the peephole and saw someone but still couldn’t figure things out in my muddled brain. When I finally opened the door, I was so shocked, I just stood there gasping at her as she first smiled, then laughed at me. Finally she pushed herself in the door since I was too frozen in astonishment and whirling thoughts to have the sense to welcome her in. 💓
She was supposed to move up here (to WV fron AL) in September, but after our week together, she couldn’t wait any longer and, within a week of going home, she was driving a rental truck with all her possessions to start our life together.
Summer trip to Boston with members of my family
My favorite memory is time spent with my grandmother. Those memories are so special to me now and I really miss her.
My favorite memories are any time I can spend with my remaining two daughters. Their oldest sister died 3 years ago, and we have learned how precious our times together are. Sometimes, even though we don’t live close together, we can actually all 3 be together again. Two years ago I thought would be my last Christmas, and here I am again, starting the celebration of another Christmas season. The docs say I am not expected to live another year, but we shall see. I feel I have too many things left to do to give up yet.

My coworker/friend and I spent 5 days last April in Branson, MO just hanging out together, catching a few shows, and eating together. It was a very much needed relaxing and enjoyable time. I have seen the most amazing creatures bald eagles three times this year, hawks flying right in front of me. There is a God I know, because why else would this be happening. Open your eyes and look at what is in front of you, because God is always near.
A stack of little memories: my 2 oldest are in college, and my 3rd just started high school. I try my best every day to decide to live authentically and be truthful when I speak. No more self harm, no more saying yes at the expense of my physical and mental health. I am going to love myself more, be more kind to myself and intentionally surround myself with those that have positive energy. It has been a long time coming <3

My favorite memory in 2018 was when my friend and I went to a NC lavender field and spent the day clipping lavender one stem at a time. What a happy and fun day that was!

Best memory of 2018 is meeting 2 of my favorite authors at a book festival last week!!!!💖💖
My favorite memory of 2018 is seeing my 34yr old daughter work so hard to get her new job that she begins on December 1st as a dispatcher. She is an amazing woman, and she has raised my grandson on her own for half her life. She never gives up, and she has the most beautiful laugh. We crochet and knit together, and have gone to yarn crawls for several years. If I was to win this, I’ll definitely share it with her. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
My favorite memories are those made spending time with loved ones.
Best memory was getting to see my oldest daughter for first time in 10 years.learning that she knits and crochets, too.
Made my regular crochet search and find your videos.

fav memory for 2018… warm sunny days, children hanging out with sheep
My favorite memory of 2018 came after a near tragedy. On July 29, my dad went into Cardiac Arrest and was rushed to the hospital at roughly 2:30pm. When I arrived, he only had a 30% chance of survival. He spent a week on a ventilator, and another 2 weeks in the hospital. Because of the ventilator, his vocal folds had been crush, causing him to be unable to swallow even water. It was going to his lungs. He spent the next 2 months in a nursing and rehabilitation facility for speech therapy to strengthen the vocal folds. He came home early October. During this time, he was being fed directly into his stomach through a tube. Today (Thanksgiving), he sat at the table with us and ate a full plate of food. It’s tthe most he has ate in one sitting since his rush to the hospital. It will always be in my mind that he got to enjoy a plate of food with his family after 3 months of not eating at all.
Having my sister with me for a month vacation
My favorite memory is the time I’ve been able to spend with my son. My favorite memory is having good health and having a good job that has held me through the year. My favorite memory is the blessings and God’s grace I’ve had throughout the year. Thank you for sharing with us!
My favorite memory of 2018 was my husband’s and my trip to Sri Lanka for a special convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses. I put my toes in the Indian Ocean and I held a baby sea turtle!!!
Favorite memory of 2018 was my friend “teleporting” to take care of me when I was sick early in 2018. They were in Michigan visiting a friend for an extended visit and when they heard I was sick, they drove from Michigan to be here with me. Winning this would make a pretty rough year better. 🙂
My dream of a lifetime, traveling to Tasmania.
My most memorable moment of 2018 was actually the mid term elections. It was exciting to see so many people getting out to vote and their concern about where this country is headed in the future.
My favorite memory of 2018 would have to be the promotion I got at work after working toward it for a year!
My favorite memory this year is yarn shopping with my sister and having lunch with her on the anniversary of our mother’s passing. We have Both learned to knit in.her homor and find a little peace sharing something she loved. I hope we can make her proud with.our knitting. She was amazing and had such a beautiful talent.
My favorite memory of 2018 will be making a new friend. It’s more difficult than I would have thought to make new friends as an adult. I am grateful to have met her.
I had so many good memories…seeing my daughter after a year-and-a-half of not having seen her in the flesh, beginning a new job that I really love, going to Rhinebeck for the first time, celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary…but my favorite has to be gathering for a family reunion for my father’s 90th birthday. So many family and friends made it to the celebration! It was a truly special time for our family, and Dad was so happy and touched to see how many people love him. It’s easy for 90-year-olds to become isolated and lonely, which Dad has been since Mom’s death five years ago, so this birthday party was so wonderful for him and our family. That was the best moment, to me, in 2018.
My favorite memory of 2018 is being greeted by my two-year-old grandson who’s wearing a “KnitByNana” sweater and saying “Love you Nana!” melts my heart….
My favorite memory of 2018 is spending time with my family
Since last Christmas, I’ve lost 4 family members, one of whom was my dad so it’s been a tough year. My happiest memory is my niece telling us she is having her first baby. Both of her brothers have two kids each so it’s nice to see our family moving forward and having something very precious to look forward to in the coming year.
My favorite memory of 2018 was spending time with family in England … and shopping for locally dyed yarn in Bath.
My favorite memory this year has to be my oldest daughters wedding!

My favorite memory of 2018 is the happy look on my granddaughters face when she got her mom’s phone and called me on skype. She was so excited when it worked and she got to talk to Gramma. She was only 10 months old at the time.
I dropped 30 quilts off at the local Women’s Shelter that was a great year for me.
My favorite memory of 2018 is getting to spend Thanksgiving with both of my children (and new daughter in law).

My favorite memory this year was the dog’s unbridled happiness when we brought my dad home from the hospital.
2018 was filled with joy and ….CHANGE! My son graduated high school and is now in college. My favorite memory would be watching him get his diploma with the images of my only baby flashing before my eyes as my young man took his first steps into his future. SO bittersweet! But I still made him his traditional new school year beanie, this time in his college colors!
My favorite part of 2018 was a family dinner we had mid summer. Nothing particularly special but everyone was there. Both of my parents were healthy, my sisters were laughing and my nephew was unplugged I remember thinking I wanted to take that moment and never let it go, to keep everyone happy and together.
Favorite moment: When we went to Boothbay Harbor this summer and the kids had SO much fun. It’s their favorite place now.

2018 has been a very good memory-making year. My youngest baby graduated high school and started college. My parents celebrated their 50th anniversary. I bought a new car. I had surgery to correct a problem and it was a success! This has been an incredible year!

My favorite memory of 2018 was the look on my daughters’ faces when we told them we were getting a dog. They picked him themselves from the Rescue event. He is definitely a member of the family.
So far, my favorite memory of 2018 has been helping my daughter to get registered to vote early (she turned 18 at the end of Oct.) so that she was able to vote in the midterms. She, my husband, and myself were able to go to the polls and participate in election day as a family. She is on the spectrum, and often struggles with self-confidence and where she fits in with society in general, so to see her feel pride in herself as she turned in her first ballot and get her first “I Voted” sticker is something I will always cherish.
My favorite memories of this year are getting my two little baby kitties! We got Lyra in February and James on November. ❤️
My favorite memory is this year is FINALLY getting sober. Knitting has kept me sane many days.
I see many comments about weddings. My step-daughter got married this summer and it was awesome. It would also be a great memory for me if I were to win your awesome yarn! …But not so much for my husband who is always yelling about the piles of yarn by the bed…
Best moment 2018. Second brain surgery, had a shunt put in place. I woke up without any pain, my wife finally walked in. She gave me a big kiss and everything was ok.

My favorite memory is watching both of my grandsons do what they love to do. One plays percussion in the band and the other is playing basketball. I’m so very proud of them!
My favorite memory of 2018 has was spending time with my grandfather before he passed away. While it was a very sad time for our whole family, the family came together and showed him so much love that it was really heart-warming. He was a great man, and I’m lucky to have gotten to have him in my life.
It’s been a pretty crappy year in general, so one of my happiest moments is spending time hanging out with with just my sister after Thanksgiving.
My favorite memory was crocheting 🧶 all year round and giving everything away in memory of my sister. I also got to meet all the new babies in our family and gift them with handmade items.
Might be winning this yarn.

My best memory of 2018 has to be the birth of daughter! It’s one memory I will never forget! It was an amazing moment getting to hold her for the first time!
My favorite moment of 2018 was the birth of my daughter! Seeing her for the first time and holding her was truly a magical experience!
2018 is my favorite memory. I got married and moved into my first home with my husband. Until we have a child I feel like nothing can top that! I also learned about this awesome website and I have been able to make some Christmas presents with my purchases. My new sister-in-law introduced me to EFA and now we are creating our own knitting club from opposite sides of the country to challenge ourselves to learn more and become better knitters. Our first project is to learn to crochet so we bought the starter kit off the site! Free yarn would CERTAINLY start our adventure off right and make 2019 even better.
My favorite memory is my daughter’s first grade parent-teacher conference when her teacher (who had been her summer school teacher) said “She’s really come out of her shell since summer school!” My daughter is wonderfully smart and mostly well-behaved, but I was definitely grateful that her dad and I are no longer the only ones who have to deal with her chattiness. And knowing that always makes me smile 😁❤
My favorite memory of this year has been finding an arts community where I live. I’ve been on a yarn crawl, learned how to crochet, and had some great conversations with likeminded crafters.
My favorite memory, well it’s hard to pick just one but maybe when my daughter passed her driver’s license test. She was so sure she wasn’t going to pass it that she just seemed shocked that she did, then getting her picture taken for it. She didn’t like it, of course who does really, she went and asked if she could take it over and they let her. It was just a crazy fun day and we hadn’t had many of those for a while. I think I entered the raffle copter thing but I’m not sure I did it right, I am extremely computer illiterate so hopefully my post here can count. Thank you
My favorite memory for the year was finding out I was going to be a Grandma again. That makes 5 Granddaughters for me. Go girl power! 😄
My favourite memory if 2018 is travelling to my mom’s hometown for the first time, experiencing what life is like there, and meeting extended family.
My favorite memory of 2018 is the weekend I spent on a private retreat in West Virginia. I run a household of 11 and this was the first time I’ve gotten away purely by myself….ever.
Did not see my comment get posted, so here it is again. My favourite memory of this year is visiting my mom’s hometown, experiencing what life is like there, and meeting extended family.
