When I was little, there was an older woman I used to visit in our neighborhood. She was born and raised in Norway, and used to tell me wonderful stories of her childhood while she crocheted beautiful lace. She was blind and crocheted by feeling the stitches, but her work was always beautiful! She’s always been in the back of my mind as the person who really inspired me to continue my crocheting, and I’d love to renew my friendship with her.

As far as who I would like to meet, I would pick Jesus first, but by faith, I will when my time has come. I would love to meet Mother Teresa. I admire how she had so little, by choice mostly, but had everything, and gave everything to others. What is the secret to knowing God so closely in this lifetime, and be able to be so like Him, so giving, so selfless, and never seeming to be bitter or angry. I would like to learn from her, so I can be a better me,

I would live to meet anyone who could teach me about the culture of my tribe. My mother was sent across the country, away from our tribe, for adoption as a baby. Since I have never been able to learn any traditional ceremonies specific to my tribe I feel very disconnected from my people. Other tribes don’t allow those outside their tribe to see their sacred ceremonies, so there is just a piece of my culture that I will never be able to be a part of.

I had to really think about this question and when I came to the answer, I had to go do some digging to find out how to spell it! 😉 While she isn’t as famous as Cleopatra, She was one very interesting Women!! (putting it mildly!)
Hatshepsut –Hatshepsut (/hætˈʃɛpsʊt/;[4] also Hatchepsut; Egyptian: ḥꜣt-šps.wt “Foremost of Noble Ladies”;[5] 1507–1458 BC) was the fifth pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt. She was the second historically-confirmed female pharaoh, the first being Sobekneferu.[6] She is generally regarded by Egyptologists as one of the most successful pharaohs, reigning longer than any other woman of an indigenous Egyptian dynasty. According to Egyptologist James Henry Breasted she is also known as “the first great woman in history of whom we are informed.”[7]

Through my employer I have had the opportunity to meet a number of people, but the 2 that stand out the clearest in my mind are Tim Gunn from Project Runway (a supremely classy gentleman) and Jeannie Cooper (she played Katherine Chancellor on Young and the Restless). Ms. Cooper was a sweet, old woman, but was extremely frail. At the time I chalked it up to her age, but when she passed away only a few months later I realized she had probably been ill. I began watching Y&R when I was a kid (with my Mom) and grew up seeing her on TV, so being able to meet her was a true treasure.

This is such a tough question. I would either like to meet John Muir or Emma Rowena Gatewood. Emma Gatewood was the first woman to hike the Appalachian Trail. She was an avid hiker and ultra-light backpacker in 1955, during a time when the gear was not that good. At the age of 67, she hiked the entire 2,168 mile trail on her own. Then she hiked it again when she was 72 and again when she was 75. I’d like to hike both the John Muir Trail and the Appalachian Trail one day.

I just bought my 1st to sheins of yarn after buying a few on eBay I didn’t like or thought would be harder to use. I didn’t realize how expensive yarn was and thought people did this to save money but lady and hobby lobby said to relax have something to do or to make money were why people did it. I am a disabled chemist which went to school instead of worked as a single teenage mother at first and had a car wreck my last semester of college so now I live on SSI which is 750 a month and I see I have a lot of competition for this but hope you pick me to give it to as the yarn I got is to thick for what I want to do and I also have the wrong size knitting needles and crochet hook (singular for now) I want to make a basket for the yarn to go in but am having a hard time finding a YouTube video Incan see clearlynwhere the things are going in to creat a circle thing so am getting frustrated and about to buy a book so any suggestions as to what kind of book or video to watch. Would appreciate it me

Thank you for the opportunity to win some of your BEAUTIFUL YARNS! I’m saving up all my change, change in hubs’ pockets when I do laundry, change I find on ground or floor, etc. – and one of these days I’ll be able to purchase some of your gorgeous yarn! It looks so SOFT and “squishy” – and I’d LOVE to get my hooks around some of that! And your COLORS!!! oh my! they are simply GORGEOUS! Eery time I see your yarn, I try to imagine what I’ll make with it – and then hmmm! will I be a ‘good mommy’ and make something for one of my (grown) daughters – or keep it for myself…..Matters not to me – I love making things for my beautiful girls! Makes a Momma proud!

I’m going to keep my fingers crossed (when I’m not hooking, of course!) and hope I’ll win this lovely bundle of yarn! Thank you again for the chance to win……

    Here’s hoping……………..

….and I was so excited about the chance to win this yarn, I forgot to answer your query!

One person past or present I’d like to meet.??

….that takes some thought – but my answer would be Jesus Christ! Though I “know” Him through Scripture, the thought of meeting Him in person is almost overwhelming! We know He is in each and every one of us – just waiting to be discovered – and I have! (Praise God!) but still not quite the same as meeting Him Face to Face! And I would SO love to see my wonderful Mom & Dad just one more time….though they have both been gone from this earth for years, I still miss them so very much! God Blessed me so much in giving me the Mon & Dad that I had…..in His wisdom, He gave me the PERFECT Mom & Dad . . . . . . for me. . . . . . .

Thanks again for the opportunity to win some of your beautiful yarn!
    and good luck to all!

Boy, that’s a tough one. Author, historical figure, musician? Arghh! I guess Helen Doss who wrote her memoirs titled The Family Nobody Wanted written in 1954. An amazing story of the children they adopted, their backgrounds and family life. I read it as a child and probably another 1/2 dozen times. It stuck with me and subconsciously helped mold my life which, duh, I just realized. Now we are the proud parents of a family that nobody wanted and wouldn’t have it any other way. I would like to meet my great grandparents that homesteaded here in North Dakota. To hear what they left behind, why they left. To know their hardships, sacrifices, their joys and sorrows while homesteading. To see how, they cooked over a fire or an old cook stove, to see if they had chickens, milked a cow, spun yarn, knitted, crocheted, sewed clothes by hand, how they washed their clothes, broke up,the land, planted their crops, and built their home. I know there’s books out there that tell these stories, but, wow, to sit across from them, hold their hand and look into their eyes while they tells their stores, would be mesmerizing!
And by the way, your yarn looks as tempting as cotton candy at a county fair! 💙
