A new crochet pattern for you: Flutterby Barefoot Sandals.
First of all, what in the hay are barefoot sandals?
These are cool for wearing to the beach or a festival but also awesome to give to a bride on her special day. After she’s worn her fancy heels for the ceremony, these are awesome to slip on for the reception and dancing! Still beautiful but oh so comfortable.
The pattern is fairly straightforward (intermediate level) and resembles a butterfly.
They’ll fit a variety of foot sizes and you can adjust the ties to be as long as you want.
I chose to add beads but you can leave those off if you prefer.
You’ll need a skein of sock yarn or any fingering weight yarn.
I used this Superwash Merino Wool Resilient Sock Yarn in colorway: Robin’s Egg Blue. Any color would work, though. Even variegated. So crazy with these! They’re meant to be awesome and any color you choose will be fabulous.
You’ll need to know how to do slip stitches, single crochets, double crochets, triple crochets and double triple crochets. Also chaining, of course.
Oh and these are super quick to make. You can whip them out in an hour or so. So they make a great last-minute gift if you’ve forgotten someone’s birthday.
They’d be great to wear during yoga too if you want your “oms” to be extra fancy. 🙂 Is that an oxymoron?
You can download the pattern here and see other patterns here too.
Hey, have a great day and let me know what you think of these! I hope you love them.

These are so cute!! I’m set on making them.
I just finished making these! They’re so cute! I had one question though… Are you tying the straps to the hole or are you putting the straps through the holes? and if you are putting them through the holes, how are you doing that?? Because mine keep punching up. I think that I might have the tide the wrong way. Thank you!
Hi Kelly,
thank you for reaching out. I’ll try my best to help. From the pictures and the pattern I can confirm that the tie goes through the hole/space on each side and is wrapped around your ankle twice before tied in the back.
I am however, not sure that I understand what you mean by “mine keep punching up.” Could you please elaborate more so I can help with it.
Thanks and have a wonderful day! – Johanna 💛
