Helllooo!! Are you ready to start knitting in the round?
I’m here to show you my favorite method for doing so: The Magic Loop Method!
You can use this to knit socks and sweaters, sleeves and collars, cowls, hats, mittens, etc. Anything that is in the round.
You’ll need:
1 long circular needle (about 32″-40″)
Yarn
I am using a skein of my Pearlescent Worsted weight yarn in colorway Laguna.
It’s soft and shimmering and a mix of superwash merino wool and silk. It’s hand-dyed by our lovely team of dyers and this yarn base really takes the dye so well. It just radiates!

It might seem fiddly at first, but don’t lose hope. Just keep practicing and practicing and you will be working the magic loop method in no time flat! You can DOOOO it!

What great video! Thanks for sharing your method. In the video you asked us to post any questions or requests for videos in the comments… I have been desperately trying to crochet up the Flutterby Barefoot Sandals and I keep getting caught up by row 4. 🙁 I am not sure what I am doing wrong. It is so frustrating as the pattern seems easy enough and I have been crocheting for over 10 years. Would you be willing to do a tutorial video on it?

I was taught to crochet by my grandmother when I was a child. I was first taught to knit by a neighbor as a young girl, the English method. Then as a young adult and new mom another neighbor taught me to knit Continental and I’ve been using this method ever since! Except if course if I’m doing fair isle I use both hands and techniques as my great teacher taught me.

I picked up my first pair of knitting needles this past week thanks to you and your videos. I’ve always been afraid no terrified of knitting. I’ve been crocheting since I was a kid. Hi am relatively new to knitting m. Am knitting your Asana yoga socks. Need to know if the pattern starts at the top or on the bottom. Want the leg part to be a little longer. Appreciate your help.
That’s a great question. It is reversible, so you can knit top down or bottom up. Hope that helps a little.
