Hello, my sweet friend! Today, I have a delightfully snuggly, cozy, knitted colorwork sweater for you. I think you’re going to love the Koffie pullover, so I hope you’ll keep reading for all the fun details!

Koffie was designed by Emma Butram. When asked about the inspiration behind this design, Emma said, “One of my favorite things about cold weather is the yummy, warm beverages you can only find during the winter season. The combination of peppermint, chocolate, and coffee is quite spectacular and always brings to mind fond memories of days gone by when I would go to a coffee shop with my mom and enjoy her company. Now that I’m older, married, and a mother myself, it’s much harder to find time to sit and socialize on my own, but I still enjoy a good cup of coffee with a scoop of hot chocolate mixed in.”

“When designing this sweater, I was thinking about cozy, winter things like blankets, watching snow from a window, and festive mugs and decided to call this sweater Koffie, which is Dutch for “coffee.” The sweater is knit top down and in the round, so the length is customizable. There are instructions for optional waist shaping, too. The charts are adapted from Vogue Knitting Stitchionary Vol. 3, ed. by Carla Scott. I hope you enjoy this simple, yet elegant sweater.”

This is an Advanced level pattern and is perfect for the adventurous knitter who loves to tackle something a bit more complicated. You’ll need to be able to read a chart, work increases and decreases, do stranded colorwork, knit in the round, and pick up stitches for the sleeves. The pattern includes written and charted instructions, as well as a schematic. You will need to know how to read charts to knit this pattern.

Koffie is available in sizes XS (S, M, L) (XL, 2XL, 3XL), which correspond to finished bust measurements of 32 (36, 40, 44) (48, 52, 56)” with 0-2″ positive ease [approx. 81 (91, 102, 112) (122, 132, 142) cm with 0-5 cm positive ease].

The Koffie pullover is made with our scrumptious Enduring Worsted and Luster Sport yarns. Our snuggly soft and oh-so cozy Enduring Worsted yarn has a nice, tight twist, which results in beautiful, defined stitches and projects that will hold up incredibly well. I custom designed this yarn, so that it’s durable enough for items you want to wear and love for a long, long time! This yarn is a blend of 80% Superwash Merino Wool and 20% Nylon and has approximately 180 yards (165 m) per skein. It’s ideal for next-to-skin accessories like scarves and cowls or sweaters, sweet baby items, blankets, and so much more!

Once you’ve worked with Luster Sport, you’re going to fall head over heels in love with its yummy, squishy goodness! Our beautifully shimmering and soft Luster Sport is a blend of 50% Superwash Merino Wool and 50% Lyocell, a plant fiber that provides the glow of silk without the price, and the shine is out-of-this-world stunning! Luster Sport has 395 yds/361 m per full-sized skein, and our Luster Sport Mini has approximately 175 yds/160 m per 50-gram skein.

The sample shown here was knitted with colors Gardenia Enduring Worsted (MC) and Path of Totality Hues Luster Sport Mini Kit (CC) [(CC A – Lt. Blue, CC B – Blue-Green, CC C – Dk. Blue-Green, CC D – Olive/Gray, CC E – Red-Brown, & CC F – Brown)]. You’ll need approximately 90 yds of each CC color and 4 (5, 5, 5) (5, 6, 6) skeins of MC or approximately 700 (750, 800, 850) (900, 950, 1000) yds of MC, depending on the size you select.
