Hello, beautiful one! This week, I have a fun, show-stopping, crochet sleeve pattern to share with you. Wear Mogal as a layering piece, or customize the size to turn it into a full-sized pullover. Make yours with either straight or flared, bell sleeves. The choice is yours!

Mogal was designed by Janica York Carter. When asked about her design, Janica said, “Simple mesh lace sleeves add interest to just about any outfit. This pattern includes options for straight sleeves and bell sleeves for added flare. Leave long tails at the start and end of the Front and Back pieces for sewing them together.”

This Adventurous Beginner level pattern is suitable for crocheters who are ready to combine basic stitches to create a simple mesh lace. Techniques include foundation single crochet (optional), working flat and in the round, and sewing pieces together.

Mogal is crocheted with our luscious Beacon DK yarn. Beacon DK is a delightfully soft and deliciously shimmery blend of 25% Baby Camel, 25% Mulberry Silk, and 50% Lyocell. This silky, luxurious yarn produces beautiful stitch definition and wonderful drape. It’s an 8-ply yarn (four sets of two plies) with ultra shine and longevity. It’s incredibly versatile and can be knitted or crocheted into an endless number of wonderful items with 250 yds/228 m per skein.

Our samples were crocheted with Abyss Beacon DK and are shown in size XS, modeled on a 34” (86 cm bust).

The pattern is offered in sizes XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL), and you’ll need 2–4 skeins of Beacon DK or an equivalent DK weight yarn, depending on the size you make and whether you crochet straight or bell sleeves. If you wish to make this piece longer in length, you will need additional yarn.

This pattern includes written instructions only.
