A stuffed crochet amigurumi yeti made with a combination of bulky faux fur yarn and sport weight cotton! I love all the little details (toes, horns, mouth, etc) I was able to get with the finer cotton yarn combined with the seamless/fluffy look of the faux fur body and limbs 🙂
My favorite project was an angora lace shawl in a lovely garnet. It took quite a long time to knit but the results were so worth it!

My favorite project has to be the ripple blanket I made for my daughter, after I re-learned to crochet in a women’s shelter. I was there for 10 months, wasn’t doing well mentally, and then I found a pattern I LOVED!
She and I couldn’t see each other very often, but we’d chat on Messenger daily. She quite literally saved my life. We’d share silly jokes, memes, videos… and when I wasn’t able to talk to her, I’d focus on her blanket.
It was made from Caron Simply Soft, in black, grey and white, with one line of a (random) neon color in the second-to-last black row. She absolutely adores it!
I made a blanket that said ‘love’ formy dad. I think what made it special is self explanatory. Lol
A while back I worked on a heirloom baby christening set for my godchild’s baptism. It took me hours and hours of hard work to make but it was for a very special cause and definately worth it. And who knows maybe/hopefully it will be passed down through the generations to come and give some joy to the family!

My favorite project was a simple knitted beanie. Me and my daughter made identical beanies together in different colors and then we gave them to each other at Christmas.
Oh goodness, the October ’24 colors are so stunning!
My favorite project was the “Love and Lace” wrap that I made for my mother with Seacoast fingering yarn. She was going through chemo at the time, and said that it felt like my soft, comforting embrace when she was struggling with the process.
I remember seeing the pattern and yarn and thinking both were beautiful, and knowing that I was pouring my love for my mother and hope for positive things for her into the project really made it feel special.
I’ve recently been bitten by the Emotional Support Chicken bug. So far, I’ve made 4 of them. One went to a member of my knitting group going through breast cancer treatment.
Hi chandi! My favorite project I ever made was a giant crochet dragon, and I entered it in my states fair circuit and I ended up winning the best of show award at the state fair!
I love my dragon! I might make another one if I win! I have entered in all of these giveaways, so maybe it’ll be my lucky month! 🙂
I think my favorite would have to be a baby blanket I copied from a picture on the cover of a book. Today it’s a fairly common pattern online, but years ago I’d never seen anything like it. It was my go-to for many years afterward.
I am just starting out do I haven’t done much but I am excited about my current project. I took my first big practice piece and am making it the back of a spooky cardigan

My favorite would have to be my slanket that I have over the back of my couch. It was the first time I splurged for marino wool and it was the first item I crocheted with that marino. And now I am busy with a knitted one from the left over yarn.
Any thing I make my grandkids. The look on there faces as they see it and get to play with or wear what was made.
And for myself I made a friendship blanket
I was in a group that exchanged Squares from allover the world. I put them together and put there names and places so I konw who and were that Square came from. It was so fun to get my Squares and see places they come from. like Spain, England, South Africa, Ireland. Not to mention all over the US.
A shawl made of yarn named after my mom. Every time I use it it is like a hug from her
This was pre-Covid but the Special Olympics would see out scarves for their participants. Each year would be different colors, also colors varied by state. I found it rewarding, plus I was able to try new techniques in a smaller project.

I think my favorite project I’ve worked on is maybe a dress that I’m making for my mom. It’s a Sedge Stitch balloon sleeve dress pattern by TCDDIY. I think what makes it special is that, although I’m doing this dress pattern. I’m adding my personal creative touch to it (I’m using Liom Brands’ Gray and Lion Brands’ Charcoal). It’s fun, tedious, nerve-wracking at times, but I can’t wait for the end result and seeing how happy my mom will be when she sees and gets to WEAR IT (of course after I block it😂) 🥳.
The favorite project is a baby blanket for a child I hope to conceive finally. The blanket is ready, waiting.
I made one when I was pregnant with my oldest son. He is now in his thirties and still has the blanket kept in a clear wrap near his bed. It was a turquoise color but he considered it blue, his favorite color. He carried it all over when he was a toddler up through kindergarten. He even socked another kid much older than him (he was about 2 or 3 at the time and the other kid must have been around 5 or 6). The older kid had been teasing him about it and took it from him. My boy then swung and hit him in the nose saying “give it back”. The older kid went running to his dad only to be told “that will teach ya” . I apologized but he told me his son had it coming. That blanket took me almost a month to make and he loved it almoat to death. So that is my words to you, he or she will love it because it is from you.
I have been enjoying several marled patterns from Stephen West. It’s great fun using up bits of leftover yatn, revisiting the beautiful colors and textures and then seeing the results of combining them.

re “what’s your favorite project you’ve ever worked on, and what made it special?” — It’s hard to choose a favorite! But I’d have to say it was fingerless gloves made with handpainted yarn. The details made it special, and the yarn itself was a big part of that. I definitely love unique yarn!
my fav project ever is your mcal 2023! it is very special to me as i learned a lot of new-to-me crochet stitches, used a lot of colors, digging into my stash to select the next color was so fun, couldn’t put it down until i finished in a month!! and it’s the biggest project i’ve ever worked on so far!! i’m already making a list of all your patterns i plan to do if i win this!! tysm!
It was a sweater, 2- colours stranded yoke, named Vogelsang. Very artistic, very difficult but beautiful chart. It requiers a lot of brain poker.
It was a sweater knit with very small needles, 2.25 MM needles, in a mink yarn.
Each project is my favorite, until I start my next. Your yarn makes knitting and crocheting so much fun. A little treat to myself at the end (and often beginning) of each day.
Favorite so far is Persian Dreams by Jenise Hope.
First time doing color work, first time with double points and first time using size 1 and 2 needles, first time doing magic cast on.
So many accomplishments and new skills in one project.
My favorite project was my wedding veil because not only was it a surprise to my husband, but it is also a reminder of one of the most important days of my life. It will also be an heirloom that I can pass down.

I’m new to Expression Fiber Arts. I know the basics of knitting and crocheting and can’t wait to make some beautiful things from your site. I started with “Sail into the Sunset Scarf “pattern using lovely fingering yarn. It’s almost complete and I’m loving it! It will be a gift to my daughter for her birthday in November. Looking forward to my next project! Thank you for being inspirational in getting my knitting needles and crochet hook back in action. Love my morning e-mails.
So many projects, it’s hard to decide. The Chicken Coasters by Denton Foreman I crocheted for my sister’s BFF were quick and fun!
I don’t think I even have a favourite item I’ve made. Every item is unique and made under different circumstances. I’ve made lots of baby booties for humanitarian projects. I’ve made items to decorate handmade Teddy Bears which go to my local children’s justice center. I’ve made afghans and dresses for friends as they’ve added to their families. I’ve crocheted elegant Barbie outfits and gowns. Each one is my favourite while I’m working on it. Each item has taken time and effort that according to others I could’ve been doing something more “productive”. It’s like asking a parent to choose their favourite child.
I don’t think I can pick just one. I think my favorite group of projects has been making a throw for each of my grandchildren. I’ve used a different pattern for each and am currently working on the 8th one.

I agree, it is hard to choose, I think my favorite crochet project is the one that I am currently crocheting. Each project is unique with yarn selection and colors and techniques.
Last year I broke two bones in my wrist and two bones in my foot and to be able to crochet is a blessing that I am very thankful for.

I love these colors! And my favorite project so far is a baby blanket I made for my first grandson!
It”s a sweater, Vogelsang, with many birds on the yoke, very artistic and beautiful design, but very difficult for a beginner in 2 stranded colourwork.
It”s a sweater in a mink yarn, very thin, and I did that garment when I was under chemotherapy. Knitting was an escape in those times.
My favorite project is a two color brioche scarf. I make them in so many different color combinations. It is very satisfying
I crochet my first Argan blanket for my daughter it was a big project. I came out beautiful it was alot of work but I felt great once completed
I made a circle blanket using only scrap/left over yarn and it turned out beautifully! I love the variety of color in it! I also made a colorwork blanket, nautical themed and that turned out well and was probably one of the most difficult things I’ve made.
My favorite project was making serapes for my daughter and grand-daughter
Wow. Cosmic confetti. Perfect name for a cosmically beautiful yarn. It would be spectacular in a sweater. I’ve just finished making a tree skirt that makes my heart happy
My favorite project is the Size Ellen pocket shawl. It has been my “go to” pattern for friends undergoing live donor liver transplant (both donor and recipient), prayer shawls for a local ministry and special people in my life’s path.
Every project has been my favorite when I’m making it.
Now I’m knitting winter poncho for my daughter.
An MKAL from multiple years ago. The shawl was Garden Path or something like that and the color kit I purchased for it was made up of jewel toned primary colors. Learned so many new stitches and have a wearable work of art.
My favorite is whatever I am working on now, or have just finished!

Years ago I made a beautiful blanket with crochet hexagons, a little like the tubucake design for a dear friend of mine. It was so special because of whom it was for and it was one of my first projects.
Probably my favorite-ever project was the second bedspread-size afghan I made for my and my husband’s full-size bed, for which I adapted Alaskan Purl’s “Granny’s Not a Square” pattern. The previous crocheted granny-square bedspread I had made was too big and required hemming up the sides, so this time I graphed out the assembly diagram to a slightly smaller size. I was able to stashbust through almost all of the green worsted-weight acrylic yarns I had for this project. I went with a smaller hook size, so the family dog and cat don’t get paws stuck in the spaces between granny clusters. It took several months to complete this bedspread, but it’s beautiful and warm, and my husband and I have been using it for several years now.
A set of small matching plushies, one for each of my children and one for my husband so they all had something fun and cute that they love.
My favorite projects are the sweaters I made for my kids when they were babies. An impossibly tiny Baby Surprise Jacket that my (6 lb. at full term birth) actually wore for two months! ❤️

Favorite project to date was a knitted color work hat with cactus and a sunset sky. It was my first real knitted project and it was so fun to see the pattern come alive! I also crochet but I’m learning to knit now too!
My favourite project was a blanket I knitted for my granddaughter, which was then covered in appliqued crochet flowers and leaves. It was such fun to do, and I could go mad with different colours and shapes!
Hey, that’s a really tough question to answer! I’d say one of my favourite projects was actually a jumper (the Faie pattern) as I chose a really soft wool so lovely to work with, and the pattern just seemed to speak to me… I was trying out new techniques and it all seemed to just make sense. It didn’t take me long to actually knit the jumper at all. I felt so satisfied when I finished it and I’m really chuffed with the outcome. One of my best knitted jumpers so far which I actually enjoed making 🙂
My favorite knitted item was a sweater I made for my brother who has recently passed away from cancer and stroke.
The first sweater I knit for my oldest daughter was my favorite project. Just a basic little raglan but she loves “yarn” objects.
Hi, I crocheted a small dragon for a keyring. I really enjoyed doing it and was completely different to anything I’d made before. My partner liked it so much, I gave it to him 🙂
At this moment, the project I enjoyed the most was a wallhanging I made for my son for his 8th birthday. A pixel pattern of Gene Simmons (from the “Kiss” band, my son’s favourite band). I loved it because I knew that my son will love it and hated it because making it hurt my hands and fingers (cramping a little) at the same time. But it was all worth it when I gifted it to him 🙂
I really enjoyed making a brioche cowl which I donated for a youth fundraiser.
A cardigan sweater for my son – what made it special was that he asked me to make him a sweater when he was 4 or 5 years old.
It’s hard to choose a favorite project but I’m going with crocheted christening sets. When my stepdaughter told us she was pregnant I decided then to make a christening gown -regardless of gender. The trouble was choosing between the two patterns in the book I picked up. Well, turned out she was carrying twins so I didn’t have to choose but I did have to speed up the process to get them completed-which I didn’t as they arrived much earlier than expected. No worries, by the time I finished the sets– gown, bonnet and booties– the girls had grown enough to fit into them nicely!!
My favourite project was a mitered square blanket made with lots of different coloured sock wool. I love knitting socks for my family and always end up with a lot of small amounts of wool. I used up the small amounts in what turned out to be an amazingly colourful patchwork quilt full of memories.
My most special project is the first one I made. I was a red scarf that was comically long, and it went from the floor to the ceiling!
I love working on small projects for my family. Whatever I make, it makes me happy knowing that I’m making something for the people I love so much.
Hi Chandi. My favorite project is a baby blanket for my first grandchild. I’m working on it now, and my children are helping! We’re using your Tubucake pattern. Each of us crochets a little differently, so the blanket will be a unique gift from the whole family.
I made a baby cardigan in DK weight with long color changes. Finished it with ladybug buttons I had been saving over 40 years ‘for just the right project’
I have enjoyed too many projects to pick a favorite. Anything I have knit or crocheted for someone has been very special to me!
Lately I’ve been enjoying the MCAL and a club from another yarn purveyor. I enjoy the way these projects stretch my skills and “encourage” be to try different techniques that I may have not tried before.
My favorite project I’ve ever worked on was the yearlong MCAL for 2023, Multivalence. It was special for so many reasons. It was one of the biggest projects I had ever made, the different stitch patterns were just the right amount of challenging-I felt like I learned so much. I worked on it through good and bad times, it was always there for me when I needed a quiet moment. I had to put my cat down in April of 2024, and I have a picture of her sitting on my finished Multivalence. Every time I worked on it in 2023, she would climb up in my lap and want to lay on it. There’s a lot of her fur woven into those stitches, and I’ll cherish it forever.
I cannot name a personal favorite project, but the ones that give me the most joy are the ones I see recipients using and/or wearing after they were gifted. Those who appreciate the love and effort poured into those items make those projects my favorites!
My favorite project was early on in my knitting life — a very simple but colorful blanket for my (then) toddler. She went everywhere with it until it was in tattered. Then she asked me to make her a new one. That became my second favorite project 🙂
I think my favorite project was a hairpin lace cardigan. I learned a new skill and taught my friend basic crochet with that one,
I am fairly new to crocheting but my favorite item was a bucket hat I made for my 1.5 yr old granddaughter. I love all the colors of your yarns but have not delved into using fingerling at all. I’m a little nervous about that.
My favourite project so far is the Persian Tiles blanket in the eastern jewels color scheme. Each piece of the blanket is a different color combination and I just loved discovering each color combination.
My favorite project was a giant garter squish blanket that I made out of a garbage bag FULL of tangled yarn that resulted from a household upheaval/catastrophe. I made lemonade out of those lemons – a squishy, colorful warm blanket that was therapeutic to make.
My favorite project I’ve ever worked on are the colorwork gloves I just finished, using my own handspun yarn! I wish EFA still sold spinning wool.
A shawl! Because it was the third project I ever made, but the first one that I could wear and really use. It feels so good to make something beautiful AND functional.

Oddly enough I’ve always had affection for my first virus shawl. I’d never made one before and I had a wild blend of bright colors and gave it a shot. It came out beautiful, the colors fell into place as if I’d planned it (I didn’t!) and a good friend bought it in my Etsy shop. I make them all the time now!
My favourite project is making the Zakret with Ephemeral Fingering. This was a wonderful and testing piece as I was now getting back into crochet. I missed counted the number of repeats in the different stages but eventually got the hang of it. Made 2 shawls for my mom’s closest friend (my sister’s godmother) and my sister-in-law.
My favorite knitting project is a pi shawl.
My favorite project has been making baby blankets for a charity called Wrapped In Love. They support women and families who have lost their babies by providing comforting blankets, support, and information for these grieving families.
Ohhh… so many projects to choose from. I’m going to choose my first knitting project. I had wanted to learn how to knit, but it took 16 years before the right opportunity came along for me to learn. Once I knew the basics, I just took off. The first project I chose was a garter stitch leaf washcloth. I learned increases and decreases in that project, and it was so exciting for me.
I crocheted a baptismal dress for our daughter to wear forty four years ago. Her three daughters have all been baptized in the same dress. It is nice to have our art with yarn handed down through the ages.
I’m bad at favorites, but today I will choose my first pair of fingerless mitts because of the mix of warmth and practicality. This was the first “hands” project I made, and I’ve been making them for friends and family since.
I think my favorite would have to be the single bed topper I made for my son. It was a “sampler” of several different designs all knit in vertical stripes. I liked it so much I made one for myself, but the original turned out better.
Hi Chanda, my favorite was a self designed 49ers blanket! It was my favorite because I was maki g it for someone special who was sick. It unfortunately never made it to her. Years ago I made a kind of square shawl with the ends sewn into loops for sleeves for my mom. Took forever but it was a labor of love and the colors were a mix of yellows, oranges, browns, with a hint of sky blue, so it was dreamy to look at while working!
My favorite project was the baby blanket I knit after my daughter was born. The stitch pattern wasn’t super special, just garter stitch done in a bulky self-striping yarn. But the blanket is soft and my daughter still likes and uses it. And working on it helped me work through post-partum challenges and feel more connected to her.
I made a traditional Norwegian jumper for my dad as we used to live in Oslo. It was lovely to work on it as it brought back some lovely memories.
My favorite project was a scarf I made for my aunt. I picked the color specifically for her and she was so excited to receive the surprise package.

I am currently working on an inherited project from my great grandma, I feel that’s pretty darn special! I made a graphgan for my nephew before his surgery and he treasured it for years!
My favorite knitted project is a brimmed beanie that I knit with a sumptuous merino-silk dk weight yarn. It had the all the good things about knitting for me: soft and squishy, quick knit, and a useful item as a result. The hat was for my husband, and he continues to wear it, almost 10 years later, even as it has begun to stretch out and get thin in places. He has asked for another one, and I will deliver the goods! I’m always ecstatic about making something useful and appreciated for someone I love dearly! That is my happy space when knitting, and the resulting project has love in every stitch.
I am working on my first baby sweater for my sister’s baby. I am so excited to be an aunt!
My favorite is a skirt that I knitted a while ago. It is made of a bunch little squares, arranged in a gradient. I had to sew each square together, had hundreds of ends to weave in (not my favorite part) but it was worth it – it came out spectacular and I love wearing it.
My special project is a knitted extra-long scarf I made when I was 14, in moss stitch, that I have and wear until today (and I’m 50). It reminds me of grandma
I crocheted “Sophie’s Universe” by Dedri Uys a few years ago and it was a lot of fun. Took me out of my comfort zone, but she’s an awesome designer and so easy to follow.
My favourite project I think it would be the baby blanket I made for my first niece, Aroa.
The reason is simply because that was the project that made me start knitting again, after a very long time, which brought me a joy and peace of mind that I hadn’t felt for ages… 🥹
My favorite project of late, although it didn’t turn out perfectly, was my first pair of knitted socks. I have crocheted most of my life and just recently picked up some knitting needles, sat down with some instructional videos and viola, but, practice makes perfect and I keep trying. Since 1977 I have knit literally hundreds of striped hooded baby sweaters. The pattern I used was originally in an issue of McCalls Needlework and Crafts. I have knit a minimum of twelve sweaters every year since. Many of the current sweaters are for children of people that received one of my sweaters themselves.my favorite thing to do is when knitting a sweater for a second child who is the same gender aa his or her older sibling, I knit the second sweater in the same colors as the first, only I make it in a larger size. In the gift box with other purchased baby clothes I put a note. It says that the new sweater is a “Hand me up” that the newborn can lend to the older sibling while new baby fits into older sibs “Hand me down.”
I don’t know if this really counts as my favorite in terms of actually working on it, but my favorite finished item is my first (and so far, only) crocheted sweater. It took me something like 3 years to finish it because I kept having to interrupt it with other projects/gifts. It got a little tedious at times, but I was so excited to finally be able to wear it. 🙂
My favourite project so far is the first blanket I ever crocheted. It was a simple v-stitch pattern made for my dad. Super cozy & warm to work on 😊
I enjoyed making dishcloths for my hope chest. It was special because that’s how I learned to crochet.
My favorite project has been the Summer Rain tank top I made in August. I am new to wearables and hand died yarn and I just love it.

An Aran jumper for my husband. It took years to finish partly because I kept putting it away to knit other pieces (like for the new grandchildren) and partly because as I put the body and sleeves together to sew I discovered the front and one sleeve were in a different size to the back and other sleeve.
My favorite project was a orange wool sweater that I made. What made it special is that it was only the second sweater I had ever made and it was for my mom. Even though there were mistakes that were obvious to me, she said that it was perfect and that she loved it.
My favorite projects have been the blankets I made for my kids when I was pregnant with them. It’s special to make something for such a special person in your life❤️
I think my most rewarding project has been a years long endeavor. I make hats for a local food pantry to give away in th fall. And when I say I make hats, I mean, I make a lot of hats. I usually donate 100 or more a year and I am headed towards 6 years of this project. I constantly “shop” my stash for new combinations. I make patterns up. And all the time I am knitting, I think about how some kid will have warm ears in the coming winter. Very satisfying.
For me, it was a cocoon cardigan. It was my second article of clothing and the first time I used superwash wool. It hangs on the back of my chair at work and reminds me to be colorful and that I can succeed.
My favorite project is the Pluie Calm shawl. It’s a relatively simple pattern using my favorite yarn base—pearlescent fingering. I contributed it to a Christmas gift exchange. The person who got it acted like she won the lottery 😎.
The one im currently working on, starting from Tussah Silk fiber ive dyed and am now spinning yarn to weave a shawl for my best friend as a wedding gift. For now it is my fave, but i can guarantee my moms hand spun silk shawl will overtake once i start on hers. With that one i get to add in beads and extra sparkle!
Hi, Chandi! Thanks for all those beautiful patterns and gorgeous yarns. My favorite project is a mermaid tail crochet blanket I made for my granddaughter a few years ago to keep her warm and cosy.
I think a project I enjoyed doing was a blanket with encouraging words like believe, courage, love, etc to give to my husband’s little cousin who had been through chemo. I made it so when the family felt like they needed a hug they could wrap themselves with it and feel all the love and encouragement.
My favorite projects have been mandala blankets. I love the challenge of new stitches and the way the colors bring out the beautiful patterns. I also love when a project changes shape from a circle to a square or anything like that.
For a few years now I have participated in Sara Schira’s “mystery gnome alongs.” She does two or three a year. They’re just the right size to keep up with, and the results are so cute. My favorite of the year is the one at Christmas time that you can get the optional goodies to open along with the clues. It’s a special treat to myself.
I just finished making Lune and I have to say that so far that is probably my favorite project. It’s easily the most elegant and sophisticated thing I’ve ever made, and it was never boring.
Recently I made pull over sweaters for my 2 oldest grandsons. My daughter in law requested a pullover for herself & I love how it turned out and the fit was perfect!
My favorite project was the Hitofude sweater – it took a long time, but I was so proud of it and it fit really well.

A merino wool shawl for my mom. I learned new stitches but my favorite part was thinking of her and appreciating those memories as I went.
My favorite pattern I’ve knit is called heartfelt, it has these lovely flowers that are knit on the edges of the shawl and it was just so much fun to knit.
I’m still learning but I think my favourite project so far was the first hat I ever made, that I gave to my sister. To see her face when I gave it to her and to see her wearing it is better than just making it for myself 🙂

Hi! I can’t choose a favorite project because each one holds a special place in my heart. I pour my passion into every stitch I make.
A few years back I made a sweater for my amazing son-in-law who has been a joy from the first day he dated my daughter. As an extra surprise, I made a second identical sweater for his nephew who is his “mini-me”. He not only wears the sweater proudly, he sends me pictures of him with his nephew, wearing their matching sweaters. I smile every single time.
A baby blanket for one of my “adopted” kids! She’s so excited to be a mom 💗
After many years away from crochet, Covid came along and I got back into it. I was delighted to find new techniques and new fibers just waiting to be tried! My first projects were shawls and scarves. When I got really comfortable I crocheted a beautiful shawl for a dear friend who was absolutely thrilled. I also made items for a number of friends who were thrilled with the designs and the yarns. I held on to my practice pieces with the intent of donating them. The right opportunity came along when a local organization was looking for donations to send to Turkey after the disastrous earthquake there and people needed warm clothing as well as scarves, gloves, blankets, etc. We tucked the scarves in with our other donations.
I was so excited to find your site with such beautiful yarns and patterns. Can’t wait to retire so I can spend more time creating such beautiful designs!
My favorite project I’ve ever worked on was a wrap for my sister. It was a Christmas gift and I found out almost 15 years later she still has it and wears it.
My favourite; also my least favourite haha. I knit a dress with three tiers of lace weight yarn. I hate working with lace weight, but the dress is phenomenal, and I got to use EFA yarn for the body!
If I had to choose just one project, I’d pick the sweater I made for myself a few years ago. It’s the only piece I’ve made for myself and it fits beautifully. I was terrified it wouldn’t.
My favourite project was a year-long CAL (crochet along) gnome blanket. It was fun to keep up with the CAL, but it was particularly special to me because I was able to integrate a tribute to my cat, who died that summer at 19. He had been with me since he was 8 weeks old and it meant so much to me to include him in a blanket I will have for a long time.
I made a simple blanket for my husband when I decided to learn to knit. When I gave it to him, he said every time he saw it, he would think about how my hands touched every stitch. Knitting and crocheting gifts is sharing love. ❤️
My absolute favourite pattern is the Minnow hat by Heidi Barrett. Since finding this baby hat, I have made one for everyone I know who is expecting. Sometimes a family member wishes they had one in their size and I tell them I can do that too (it’s on Knitty.com). But I still have to say the Minnow is still so much fun to do after all this time.
I have a habit of buying yarn first and then finding a project for it. A dear friend mentioned that she was looking for a red shawl for a special occasion, and I just happened to have some gorgeous oopsy EFA fingering yarn I had purchased last summer. We picked out a crochet pattern together and I finished it just before she left on her cruise. It was stunning and she loved it!
Anything I make for my beautiful granddaughter is a favorite. I love her enthusiasm when she gushes about something new that I have made.

I think my favorite knit was Sylvi by Mari Muinone. I made it in a delicious red yarn, and I love the floral cable that runs up the back. It was very satisfying to knit, and I love the results.
My favorite project has been making baby items for Let Them Live – an organization dedicated to supporting women so they do not feel like the need to abort their babies.
My very first pair of socks because I had no faith in the instructions. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the instructions, but turning the heel made no sense to me when I read it. I’m so glad that I blindly followed those instructions and turned that heel. Socks are my favorite items to knit and I have too many sock wips to talk about.

I am not sure I have an absolute favourite project, I love them all when they are done 🙂 that said, some of my cozy Jumpers have been worn pretty much nonstop after I finished them, as I couldn’t get enough of the sense of achievement and pride in being able to create something from scratch that will provide for me for hopefully years to come. I also have a big heavy crochet blanket that I use every day when working from home and my legs need that warmth.
I LOVE making the Abigail Fairy Dress. I just started making my fourth, including one that my oldest daughter wore to prom. They are so pretty and every time I get to a color change in the yarn, it makes me happy.
My favourite project is my first amigurumi octopus. Took me 3 hours to make, and it’s not perfect, but I FINALLY, after years of trying, taught myself to do some sort of yarn art (and have taught myself to knit since.) I’ve also since made a ton of fun variations on the pattern, and am eventually hoping to put together a little booklet to sell as a fundraiser to try to get me enough money to get the farm I’ve wanted since I was a kid. Or at least enough of it that a business planner is willing to talk to me.
I joined an online CAL, where we made a bunch of hexagons and joined them into a blanket. I enjoyed everything about it. The community making these blankets together. The yarn and colours I was working with. The pattern. And the host who designed the blanket was absolutely amazing. The blanket is now enjoyed by a friend… (She said the hexagons were like little jewels and asked if she might keep it. Of course, I said yes.)

I have so many favorite projects, it’s hard to narrow down to just one, but I will have to say, so far, working Hearthside with your Twisted Tweed Sport has been the most enjoyable project to date. I stitched so much love into that blanket, and it is being gifted to my youngest sister, Kim for Christmas this year. My favorite project I ever worked on was a baby blanket for my sister. It was so special to make it for her.
For my husband’s 50th birthday, I knit a scarf using a pattern based on dates that are important to us. It turned out much less chaotic than expected. We both love it!
A prayer shawl for a dear friend walking life’s final journey with pancreatic cancer and his wife who was heroically battling breast cancer at the sane time. His wife shared that in her husband’s final weeks they would often find comfort by wrapping themselves together with the prayer shawl.

My favorite was long ago. When I was about 7, my elderly neighbor taught me to knit and my very first project was a red knitted bolero with gold sparkles in the yarn. Memories of a beloved neighbor and the start of a much-loved hobby.
My favourite project is still a long cable cardigan design by Joji Locatelli. I can’t wait to get it finished and wear it. 🧶💖
My favourite project to-date was a poncho for a friend using Manx Loaghtan wool blended with Punta Arenas wool. The colours chosen were perfect and the end product was something I was quite proud of. Lots to learn but was fun!!
Possibly my favorite was my first attempt at a lace project but is wasn’t lace weight yarn. It is a black feather and fan pattern rectangular shawl. It wasn’t as hard as I feared! And the silk blend yarn is heavenly. I love wearing it to this day!
I made a shawl for my sister and it was the first crocheted gift I had given her. She was so happy with it and still comments to me how much she loves it, and that happiness was so gratifying.
My favorite project was similar it’s a riding cloak. It was the first major project I made.
I made a huge ombre blanket for my daughter and her new husband. It took over a year but it turned out great.
It’s hard to choose only one, because I’m constantly in love with my last project, whatever it is. But I think that my favourite was one that I liked so much that I did it twice in different colours, one for my husband (though I’m the one who use it the most) and one for a friend, despite the difficulties involved. It is a scarf made entirely with slip stitches (I’m a crocheter) in short rows, drawing forms in a very dense fabric. I chose for both a fuzzy gradient yarn that was quite hard to work with in this specific project, but that gave it an amazing appearance. So happy with the challenge and the result that I’m planning to make another one!
Hi Chandi! What gorgeous yarns you always have and I want to extend my heart is with western NC after the floods. My favorite project was to make knitted fairy dolls for my two girls. They are now heading to college but they kept them still!
My favorite knit would be a cabled knit dress. What made it special was the variety of cables and the way it fit me. I enjoyed wearing it for many occasions.
My favorite project so far is the granny pop sweater top that I made from MJ’s off the hook. I like it because it’s one of the first tops I’ve made that I absolutely love wearing and it fits beautifully. I can’t wait to make some other patterns from EFA that I’m looking forward to though!! I have a pattern but just for EFA patterns that I want to make 😂
My favorite project was probably the Briar Rose baby blanket by Hooked on Sunshine. I made it for a special baby with Scheepjes Whirl in the baby’s colors.
Working on a temperature blanket for 2024 and my sister is doing one too. We live on opposite sides of Canada, so it’s very interesting to see our different colours!!

I had to think hard about which project rose to the top to call my favorite! I love them all so much!!! But I think I’m gonna have to choose the pocket shawl, Sue Ellen, and here’s why…I made it for myself and it whipped up so quickly, and the EFA Superwash Merino Pearlescent Worsted yarn is so soft and squishy. The project turned out perfectly, and I wear it often when I sit on the patio in the evenings to watch the sunset. So, as I was trying to think of what to gift my best friend for Christmas, I thought of Sue Ellen and how it would be absolutely perfect, quick and lovely for her. I used my yarn stash (Red Velvet Rose, originally purchased to make The EFA Red Velvet Rose Wrap). It turned out stunning, and I’m so excited for my bestie to open it come Christmas! I suspect I’ll be making more in 2025 for next Christmas.
Hi, Chandi. You are simply the most delightful person! My favorite crocheted project is my first sweater that I made several years ago using fingering-weight yarn. I finally had the courage to make a sweater with no pattern. I read patterns and watched videos, then decided that the only thing to do was just try. And it turned out fine – it fits, is tunic length, v-neck – just what i wanted. And I still wear it when weather turns cool enough. Yarn, hooks and needles help me retain whatever sanity I have left in my old age!😁 Take very good care and keep safe.
I think my favorite projects have been the hats and knitted knockers that I’ve made for my friends and family that were fighting cancer.
After I had my first child (back in the dark ages, lol), I crocheted some toddler sized granny blankets. It ended up being my second son that used them the most. He wouldn’t sleep without one of them.
Those blankets were a mess, lol. Misshapen, messed up stitches, the works. Still, they remain my favourite pieces because they were so loved.
Such beautiful scrumptious colors all my favorites! My favorite project was actually a sewing. Making my wedding dress, broke my finger and my future mother in law finished it with me. It was a special time with a very special wonderful woman.
My favorite project was a month long KAL that greatly expanded my skills. I learned lace work, color changes, and how to add beads. It took me longer than a month to complete but it made me a much more confident knitter.

I had started the project during pregnancy, and finished around him being 18 months old as I put my projects down for a while. Who would have known I’d predict something he would love?! It warms my heart!
The greatest sense of accomplishment was when I finished my first pullover. Bulky, soft, and warm. My favorite was probably a shawl I made for my mother. I wanted to give her a gift that would always cause her to feel loved and connected.
A dark green cardi in a combination of aran style knitting with lace insets. The back of the sweater has a lace owl pattern copied from Harry Potter knits as the crnter piece framed by small cables a 9 stitch branch pattern and seed stitching. The sleeves repeat the the branch pattern centered in seed stitch and the fronts repeat the cables on branch pattern with seed stitch.
The collar is slightly extended seed stitch. It is my 1st designed sweater and took forever to plot and knit.
The Glastenbury wrap. Lovely colors knit in a slip stitch pattern using alpaca DK and alpaca/Tercel fingering yarn. I made the Falling Leaves colorway. So lovely that I also use it as a sofa throw.
I made a project for a mission donation. The yarn had been donated from a lady called Diane, who lived in my mom’s independent living apartment complex. I had a picture taken at the mission with the recipient holding a sign saying ‘Thank you Diane’. When I showed the picture to Diane – she cried a bit with tears of happiness. She told me the yarn had been given to her by her mother, and that she had always felt guilty for never using it. Diane then said the guilt had lifted off of her, and she knew her mom would be pleased. Go figure. I had no idea the impact this would have made on her. It was a gift to have been able to take part in it all! 🥰
I’m fairly new to crochet so I haven’t made much more than scarves. However, the piece I’m most proud of was a blanket I made for my cousin’s widow. My cousin passed very unexpectedly at their cabin in the mountains, which was his favorite place. So to honor his memory and wrap her in a hug I made a blanket featuring a mountain scene with sunrise/sunset colors behind it. The colors were inspired by his favorite football team, which I felt made it more personal. I was very new to crochet at that time and really didn’t know what I was doing. But by the grace of God it came together nicely, and I couldn’t be more pleased.
My favourite is knitting a top down sweater or cardigan, seeing the project literally appear before your eyes reminds me of one the reasons I love to knit – creating something new.
It is hard to pick a favorite. I love weaving and knitting. I create chemo hats and knitted knockers, socks for my husband, shawls, gifts for friends. I guess if I have to choose a favorite it is the shawl I made for my mom. She wore it until she passed away almost 2 years ago. It was special to her. She wore it everyday.
Your knit Aspen shawl. My first from your site. Such beautiful cours and textures and lovely size and finish. Also tied for live is the cowl two colour bulky yarn and large bib. Not baggy good fit. Fast project and so impressive looking.
The first shawl I ever crocheted. It’s in a lacy shell pattern made from a super cuddly alpaca-silk mix. I love wearing it in everyday life. And now, because it’s white, our wedding photographer used it as a background for some detail photos 🤣🥰

The most special and favorite project I ever completed was my son’s christening gown.
My favourite project to work on was my first foray into lace knitting. It was a Shawl, with many different stitches. The only down-side was that I used an inferior yarn, since the project was a trial, and though it worked beautifully, it had no drape and didn’t block so the shape and stitch definition couldn’t be accentuated.
Knit a cardigan, make for the children. How happy they’re and they’re excited waiting for the stuff done .
i think my favorite ever project was the Shukrani shawl. I caught Covid in May of 2022, and was isolated upstairs to keep my husband from getting it. During that time, I struggled with the pattern and was so frustrated I almost gave it up. I snuck downstairs, grabbed my computer and created a spreadsheet with each repeat, and it was 3 pages long! BUT, it helped me tremendously to keep track of what row I was on, where the stitch markers were, and how many times I was to do the repeat. I finished the shawl about 2 weeks after I recovered and I get soooo many compliments on it. It’s by far, my favorite shawl. Thank you, too, to the ladies I had help from in your staff…even though they tried to give me the right chart – I’m a visual learner and having the rows broken down into each section between the stitch markers is what helped…but they were so patient with me and so kind!

My favorite project was a hat I made for my youngest daughter, age 23. She is an unabashed fan of the Rescue Rqngers, especially Chip & Dale, so I made her a chipmunk hat/bonnet.
I think my favorite thing I’ve ever worked on is a mosiac sweater for my husband which pushed my skills and showed me i’m capable of more than I thought (I can do hard things). But I also have a lot of projects that remind of specific times — like the shawl I worked on while going through a major career change — and which are important to me for the period of my life they represent.
My very favorite was/is ONDINEA. I bought the exact yarn to use with the pattern,and although this project went into time out for a while, I finally finished it this year! All I have left to do is block it! Fabulous pattern (advanced) and extraordinary colorways of fiber!!!! Thank you, thank you!
I think my favorite projects have been the king size blankets I made my family members one year. They looked like quilts and I knew they would treasure them for years to come.
My favorite projects were the many that I have made for my nieces and nephews.
My favorite project that I have worked on has to be an amigurumi monkey I made for my daughter. It took me nearly 3 years to complete it, and she anxiously awaited it. It was the greatest compliment anyone could receive when she finally got her hands on it and proceeded to sleep with it each night. She still treasures it and that made it all worth it. My next project is a dragon for another daughter who has been anxiously awaiting to be “next in line”. This one will probably take more than 3 years as it is definitely more complex and much, much larger. LOL. Seeing how much joy a project brings to my girls, is truly what makes it the best project to work on.
My favorite project has to be the one I just finished. I made 4 berets for my Mom, my two sisters and myself for a special trip we planned for my Mom’s 80th birthday — a trip to Paris France. 🙂 The berets look awesome and I’m so excited for everyone to wear them in front of the Eiffel Tower and around the city. 🙂
My favorite project was a scarf I made for a co-worker for Christmas. It was one of your patterns – I think Kocho. I used a thicker yarn, adjusted the width and added tassels on each end. I think it was my favorite because I knew that she truly appreciated a handmade gift!
My first real project was my favorite. Although I learned to crochet when I was a child, I never made more than a few potholders, and preferred more active past times. But after my second son was born, I had a complication from his delivery that almost killed me, and I was stuck alone in the ICU without my baby, with lots of pain. I begged my husband to go buy yarn, crochet hooks and pattern books from the craft store so thar I could crochet a blanket for our baby. My poor husband was very confused, but I knew that I needed to have something positive to focus on and to distract me from the terrible situation I found myself in. I was so weak, I could crochet not even half of a small square at a time at first, because I was so weak. But I kept at it when I could, and eventually my little one had his pretty little blue and white baby blanket.

My favorite project, that’s a tough one. The first cardigan I ever knit. Fingering weight yarn. Colorwork. It taught me so much. I still feel a sense of accomplishment whenever I see it. It still makes me smile.
A more recent favorite was a beret and cowl done in entrelac. It’s so fun to see the colors change as they line up in those crazy entrelac rows.
My favorite project I’ve ever made is a knit Teddy Bear because it was for my mom, as she collects bears. It was a fun project and I loved watching it ‘come to life’ as I knitted it.
My most treasured & therefore probably favourite (it’s hard to choose!) was the blankets we crocheted for the 2022 CAL Hearthside. I only use it for treasured little moments to myself. Thanks for a chance to win this scrumptious yarn!
My favorite project ever is a little bear that my grandmother helped me make and taught me to sew. It wasn’t perfect but I loved it. I gave it to my best friend when she moved away in 8th grade.

I made myself a sweater (my first one!) from yarn that I bought when I was in England visiting my daughter, who was doing a study-abroad. Whenever I wear it, I think of her and of the fun we had on that trip!
My favourite projects are anything that I knit to give to my friends and family. I take a lot of time finding the right pattern and yarn, and put lots of love into each piece that I knit. It takes a long time to finish them sometimes, but it’s always worth the effort!
O, my! There are so many favourites, but looking through my portfolio on Ravelry, the common threads are the ones that brought me pride in the process or designing _and_ in the finished project. If you make me pick just one, it would have to be the Lopi sweater I knit in 1992. One of my first projects. It was the first stranded sweater I ever knit. I knit it for myself for cross-country and downhill skiing and I loved wearing it. It’s packed away for now, until the cold fall weather hits here in Eastern Ontario, but I still have it. However, since there is still space available to write in this text box ;), I will tell you about the others. I also love the CFL Hamilton Tiger Cats fan scarf I knit my late father. He loved it so much. He wore it every day they played and every time he left the house when it was cold outside. He would wear it when he played with his band. Then, there’s the garnet bamboo “Kimono” shawl designed by Cheryl Oberle which gets me compliments every time I wear it, and my most recent feat, Thielenbruch, by Assel Knits, which I will be giving away to a very dear friend. Thank you, Chandi, for encouraging me to take a moment to give myself some kudos for my own handiwork. I am 72 years old and have been knitting since I was 12 years old and have knit many, many items. My favorite is the afghan I made for my daughter for her first year of college. She is 50 years old, and the afghan is still with her. It was a surprise gift to her, which made it more special.

I’m getting into the groove of being a fast crocheted for christmas present and my favorite project I’ve made is this set of pots, pans, bowls, plates, sheets, utensils and tools such as a whisk. Its super cute and I added it to his existing food crochet that I’ve made before for him.

I made a hexaflexagon out of crochet a couple of months ago and I am extremely proud of it.
I think I’d have to say that my favorite project is the one currently on my needles… simple cabled mittens. This is my first foray into the world of cables, and I think I am IN LOVE! So beautiful for so little effort! I never knew making cables was so straightforward, and I’m so excited to get into cabling on shawls and sweaters in the near future.

Hello Ms. Chandi! My favorite project was a knitted skirt. I was new to knitting and never did a garment. It was knitted in the round. I had knitted it in green with a strip of pink and a picot border. It was for my two year old daughter. I made it too long but she grew into it and then she passed it down to her little sister.

I don’t usually make things for others; a lot of people don’t appreciate the work that goes into things made by hand (read Can You Sew This For Me on Instagram sometime. The chutzpah is breathtaking).
But my hubby’s boss and his wife are different.
He even held it up for everyone to see during a virtual group meeting, and talked about how much he and his wife loved it.. Since then I’ve made two others, when he and his wife had two more children.
I made some amigurumi bunnies for grandkids but they turned out so cute that some adults wanted them, too! And, of course, I had to make a few for myself. I loved making all the body parts and stuffing and sewing them together. They almost felt a little lifelike when I put the eyes on.
My favorite projects to work on are the items I’ve made for my son. I do a winter hat for him every year and have so much fun picking out the yarn and pattern with him. Also, I would have to include the Westknits mystery MKAL shawl I did a few years ago as it introduced me to a lotvof new techniques and pushed my comfort level, which was fun.
I’ve had so many items I’ve just loved, but I especially love making hand knit items to give as gifts. One of my favorites was the Stardew 4 season socks for my future daughter in law. All of the colors were so much fun to work with!
Over the years I have knitted and crochet many items which I love dearly. Especially seeing the joy on peoples faces when they receive them. I think the one that I did enjoy doing was when my Dad asked me to crochet a blanket for his next door neighbour who is in her late 80’s has a gift for her birthday. It was called down by the sea, with all different aspects of what you would find at the seaside. he said she was over the moon with it and she uses it everyday while she has an afternoon nap
My Sunset Highway Sweater, because it was my first sweater, first foray into fingering weight hand dyed yarn, and project bigger than a dish cloth. It took me about 10 months to knit, I still wear it whenever the weather is cool enough even though it is full of mistakes. I don’t care, I love it and I actually finished it.
My favorite project I ever made was when I crocheted a set of “spike” dragons for my Granddaughters Birthday gift. It took me a few weeks for each, but the joy she showed when she opened them was the best gift ever!
I love making things for young kids, they just get so excited and make you smile when you make something for them.
My favorite project was a bed doll. This was back in the early 70’s and bed dolls were a thing. It was with a southern type dress and little hat. It had layers and flowers and puff sleeves. The doll itself was actually a real doll not crocheted. I was only about 11 or 12 when I made this and gave to my grandma for her birthday. She absolutely loved it and displayed it on her bed till she passed. It was the first garment I ever made even though it was only for a doll. I now own that bed doll and display it in my bedroom just to remind me of her.
I recently finished Samon by Eri Shimizu, and it is the most beautiful shawl I’ve ever made. It is a large, round, laceweight shawl with brioche sections and cables – perfect for snuggling under while watching tv. I love it so much, and it was such a relaxing knit, I already have plans for another.
I think mine was a textured sweater with a large Celtic knot on the front. It was fun because of the complex details, and it celebrates my family’s culture.
Honestly, anything I make for someone else and when they enjoy it 🙂
My favourite project was a mitred square blanket which I knit using only Opal yarns. It sits on the sofa in my TV area during the winter and is used every.single.evening.
My gran teaching me to crochet those gaudy vintage cushion covers that looked like multi-coloured sunflowers, many many moons ago – and now crocheting blankets for a rhino orphanage in south africa
Hello Chandi, my favorite project was a baby blanket for my friends first grandbaby. It was a two color spiral design. One color being white but the second a variegated. It was a mix of peaches pinks orange purples yellows. It just made my heart happy to work with it.
My favorite project is a counted cross stitch pattern that I remember watching my Grannie stitch. It took me 2 months to complete and had the most adorable pansies!
There is something special about each thing I’ve made—whether it’s because of who I’m gifting it to, or being able to tap into creativity I didn’t know was in me… If I had to pick one, I think it would be the hairpin lace shawl I made for my mother in law, who sadly isn’t with us anymore.
I must confess….my favorite is always a competition between whatever I just finished and the next project I am about to start! At the moment I am considering adding an extra row to lengthen a shrug in a super-fuzzy variegated wool. At the same time, I’m one sleeve to go on a cardigan, and I’m anxiously awaiting my new yarn!

The favorite thing I’ve made was an Afghan for m_self ! It was my first BIG project ( that’s why it’s my favorite). I’d made washcloths before even a plain table runner and basically scarves but the afghan is my proof to myself that I could do it !
The most special project I have, and am still working on was a gift from my daughter ( a full yarn kit and pattern for a super complicated blanket). I don’t have the closest relationship with my daughter and every time I look at it it brings me a sense of closeness.
But my favourite project was special because it was made with the most wonderful yarn I have ever knit with and that’s the EFA buttery Sport. I helped with the test to make sure the buttery sport was going to work for the Fennmont sweater. The pattern was my first top down, seamless garment, my first with a luxury yarn and is and probably always will be my favourite garment I can be proud of
I made my son’s entire Christening outfit {blanket, booties, dress} while I was pregnant. It turned out just gorgeous. It kept me busy during a trying time. Everyone who saw it wondered where I found such a lovely set. When I told them I made it, they were astounded. It was humbling and rewarding all at once.
I made knitted blankets for both of my sons while I was pregnant each time. It was extra special because the blankets that I made for them became their favorites!

What a GORGEOUS yarn selection!! My first sweater was the most special thing I’ve made. It was a vintage-inspired pattern from Interweave and I used a dark plum colored yarn. I normally make smaller items like hats, and completing a full sweater made me feel like an accomplished knitter 😊
My first baby dress for my niece. Because it was my first kniting project . I was so happy that I can finished it.

My favorite project ever was to crochet furry snuggie pads for my 2 granddaughters, 2 and 4, to lie on and snuggle with, you know, because they are my sweet, precious babies and need to be wrapped up in soft, furry comfort! Lol! Soooo fun! They LOVE them.
This year I connected with my true self and have been making patterns and with (more wearable) colors I love! It’s actually been a secret goal of mine to make one garment for myself every month of this year! 😍 So my favorite I’ve worked on so far is the first one I made this year: The Diamond Cardigan in “Mirage Sport” Hint of Mint colorway ☺ It was my first time working with a sport weight and I fell in LOVE with it and the luscious yarn base (I’m knitting with it right now in the Pekin pie color!)!! 🥧 thank you for the wonderful chance to win this incredible yarny goodness!!
Hi Chandi! My son just turned 37. When he was 4 years old, I wanted to make him a Christmas stocking. I chose a knitted stocking; 20” long with a stuffed Reindeer head and felt antlers. This was my first knitting project and my very favorite. I knew absolutely nothing about knitting. It was an incredibly challenging project, but I was determined to have it ready for him Christmas morning. The smile on his face that morning was worth every tedious hour of knitting. 😊
My favorite is the first project I made with high quality wool yarn – the Sound Stone Poncho. It was a lot of work, but every stitch felt luxurious.
my most favorite project was a pattern from YOU. I did it in my mom’s favorite green and the pattern was just perfect. She loved it so much, she keeps it in her hope chest.. It’s never better when you put in effort for a loved one and they love it soooo much.

I have three favorite projects, the first one is the pair of socks I just knitted with your Sincere Sock yarn in Lavender Tea. (If you want a photo, not sure how to get it to you.) My second favorite recent project is a sweater I’m knitting for my daughter that is the hardest things I’ve ever attempted but I LOVE what I’m learning in attempting to finish it. And thirdly, I’m knitting what is called a Hue shift afghan with my own colors and it’s been such fun to knit the mitered squares and watch the colors blend.
Another great giveaway! I love all the things I’ve crocheted but I think my favorite is a soft and cuddly blanket made with alpaca and silk in a grey and pink colorway.
I loved to knit my children jumpers and cardigans when they were young. They are grown up now but I still knit for them.
Apart from sewing my own wedding dress in raw silk, my next favorite project has to be Sunset Diamonds shawl. But any project made be it sewing, knitting or crochet has a special meaning.

My favorite project consists of all the afghans I crocheted/knitted for my unofficially adopted daughters. I wasn’t blessed with any daughters of my own, so I “adopted” my favorite young women. Each one received an Afghan to serve as a “portable mom hug.” These projects were very special because all the LOVE that was infused into every stitch and all the joy I experienced when giving them away. Seeing all the smiles and getting all the hugs of gratitude is priceless!! I am a “bonus mom” to many wounderful young ladies and now have 3 “bonus granddaughters” and 1 on the way!! Life is great!! Woohoo!!
My favorite project so far was making hat and scarf sets for my kids that were customized to their liking. I loved the joy in their faces when I revealed the finished pieces to them!
Each blanket I made for my kids. They hung on to those things until they couldn’t be fixed anymore.

My favorite project was a baby blanket made in mirage sport in 5 colors…. deep to light lavenders and a touch of black. The blanket was made in hexagon granny squares with many black silhouettes of Mickey mouse faces cascading down into the last layer of black hexagons. It was a gift so I really should make another one so I can have one for my very own. 😉
My most special project was the baby blanket I made for my first baby. I was not pregnant at the time, but I wanted to knit a blanket for my future child and that turned out to be my now seven year old son.

It’s hard to pick a favorite! One is my pineapple doily that I made watching my grandmother make them. Another is my first pair of socks that fit! Everyday I love crocheting or knitting and I work on smaller quick projects while working on your MKAL and MCAL!
There were two – I did a temperature blanket in 2020, along with a CAL year-long afghan pattern. Keeping up wth the two was a long, and slightly expensive process, but they kept me mindful of my time. I love having them both around my living room now.
Oh this one’s hard! I think I must say my “first ones”. My very first amigurumi (a little octopus), that rekindled my love for crochet. And my first crochet cardi, that was also my first pattern test and the first time I really followed a crochet pattern. The feeling of wow! I made that! Is amazing.

My favorite project I’ve ever worked on is a fillet crochet peacock done in 30 weight crochet cotton. It’s my favorite because it took me 3 years to finish and it is beautiful. It makes me happy to look at it. It is framed and will be a family heirloom for many generations.
I’ve made many baby blankets but one I made for a cousin that I designed the color palette for was my favorite project. It ended up being stunning and they loved indoor baby Lacey.

My favorite project I ever made was a crocheted sunflower granny square blanket as a gift for my SO. He loves sunflowers, and I wanted to make him something that I knew he would use! It was my biggest project I ever made at that point, and it won a first place ribbon at my local fair!
My favorite project(s) so far have been crocheting a baby blanket for each of my “grandchildren”. Each blanket has been as sweet and unique as the little one being snuggled in it.
My favorite project I ever worked on was an infinity scarf last year. My grandmother, mother and I all crochet. Grandma taught me as a little girl, and I have crocheted my whole life. Last winter, at age 50, my little sister decided she’d like to learn too, and I had the chance to teach her using a simple scarf pattern. We sat shoulder to shoulder on the couch and laughed and stitched. We talked about grandma and mom, and enjoyed sister time and the generational bond of yarn and crochet.
I made a bridal shawl for someone who changed their mind later about wearing one. I designed it from scratch using !00% silk. I plan on making a beaded or sequined version one day. It is the only thing that has ever drawn ooooos and aaaahhhhhs and won an award of a course at Stiches.
Hi Chandi & team, I shared your October Giveaway on X with a lovely comment. There is nothing more soothing than knitting & crocheting in the current election circus. I know I’m going insane fighting the good fight not just in the US but around the globe. Problems problems …never ending. Well, I haven’t done enough to have a favorite project. I sure want to try the Papillion perhaps in a shawl. Don’t have courage for it yet but will definitely do it sometime. I finished a couple of baby size blankets which are lovely but not the yarn I like. For pattern testing. I must start using the yarn I bought from EFA for a fine project. Ummmm….what will it be! Favourite project was also the first – my grannie and I knit a scarf together, her teaching me, using colours she’d chosen that had been in everything she ever chose for me.
My favorite project to work on was a granny square baby blanket that I made to look like shamrocks for a friend with Irish heritage.
I made an Oy (the dog-like creature in Stephen King’s Dark Tower series) for my youngest son – I based it on an old pattern for a tiger, using several strands of grey and black mohair to get the stripey fluffyness, and bright golden eyes.
I have a sweater I made about 2+yr ago that’s very special for me. It’s special because a friend dyed up the yarn special for me, without me knowing, and mailed it to me as a thank you for being a good friend and supportive of her during a miscarriage. That sweater will always be special for me now.
My favourite project was a Harry Potter blanket that I made for my oldest daughter. I made a couple other blankets of the same theme, but they weren’t my favourite.
Gosh, every project is special for different reasons: the first blanket I ever made was for my first granddaughter. The first cardigan I ever made was for my Mom’s birthday, and the first purse I ever made, including sewing in a lining for the first time, were all super special to me. I think though, the most special thing I ever made was my first amigurumi toys – a couple Star Wars figures just for the whole family to enjoy. When I finished I realized I had finally really learned how to crochet, and found a new hobby I was going to love forever. I haven’t stopped crocheting since, and now I can’t wait to learn how to knit!

Hi sweet Chandi & EFA family … my absolute hands down favorite project I have made was a mosaic crochet blanket. Learning the mosaic crochet technique made my heart jump, I just loved creating a picture with several colors of yarns & watching it come to light after each row.
Last year I did a MKAL Halloween cowl. That was a lot of fun seeing all the ghost 👻 and skulls develop.
Hmm…I’d have to say that it’s actually this granny square blanket I’m making. It’s how I’m learning and getting used to crochet. I don’t have to tote a big project bag around either. I can just take one, or two little skeins and a hook with me and off I go!

My favorite project was a teddy bear I knitted for my son, Brandon. He was 4, and we put it in the Christmas tree for him to find on Christmas morning.
I think my most favourite item I’ve made so far is the first item I ever made, over 40 years ago. It was my father who taught me basic knit and pearl stitches, handed me a ball of brown yarn and a pair of needles, and told me to have at it! I knitted a scarf for him, and I poured my heart and soul into it. It was probably the ugliest thing I’ve ever made though! Lol! But he loved it, and I was immensely proud to see him wear it year after year. Making that brown scarf was the start of my love of yarn, which has never left me. And to this day, whenever I pick up a pair of needles, I think of him ❤
No real favorite- loved the bulky pi shawl I made. (I thought I would never finish a fingering weight version and this was a better place to start).

It is hard to choose a favorite because there is something I like about each project I work on. However, if I had to choose just one, it would be a pair of socks I made for my Grandma. I used an owl motif because she loves owls and it was fun to make something for one of my favorite humans–I would not be who I am today without her. I got to think about all the things she’s knit for me over the years as I worked on them.
My favorite project was a sweater for my grandma. It is the largest and most complex piece that I had made. I took my time and it turned out great. She still wears it today and loves it!

Favourite thing i have ever worked on was a round shawl that I knitted! No turning and no purls 😀 Loved doing it and seeing how it grew and grew! BUT blocking was really challenging!
I was fourteen when I crocheted my baby sister a dress in white for her First Holy Communion.Since then I have crocheted many unique pieces ( for my four girls and my grand-daughter,all my very own designs ) but that dress remains my favorite project.

My favorite projects happened many decades ago. At age 19 I knitted sweaters with the matching bottoms for my baby that was on the way. This was long before we knew about what sex the baby was going to be. I made blue outfits, one with porcelain train buttons, pastel yellow and pastel green outfits. I knew that it was going to be a boy and he was! I also made matching booties. 58 years later I still have those outfits.
I am a somewhat new knitter and a few years ago I knitted my very first project, a pair of knitted socks for my Dad! ❤️. We live about 5000 km apart so he wasn’t able to try them as I knit them. I am pretty sure they don’t fit but he put them in his safety deposit box!

My favourite item is a Tunisian crochet jacket I made for my grandson – he wore it as dressing gown until he fitted it then his sister took it over when she arrived.
I knitted a patchwork cardigan. I loved the colors I chose, and then I made an identical baby-sized one for my daughter! Definitely my favorite project to date.
Can’t think of a specific project, but all projects that I make for a gift for someone is special to me!
My favorite project to work on was the Night Shift Shawl by Andrea Mowry. It was my first mosaic project and was so fun and fast to knit up!
My recent favorite project was a sunflower afghan from one of my besties.
This summer I learned how to crochet to make my daughter a super soft birthday blanket. She has sensory needs, so it was special to get to make her a blanket she can use. She picked out the yarns with me on a mommy-and-me date and I made up the pattern on the fly. . it was fun and memorable to make her.
My favourite was a blanket for my son when he moved away from home for his first job. I loved the fact that he’d be snuggled up in it every night and feel the love that I had knitted into every stitch.
My favorite project was a knit plush cacti with a secret bottom to store gum nd stuff in. I made one for my mom and she loved I and even brought it to work to show off. It was a nice bonding moment for me and my mom.
I made a blanket and Jacket for our only grand daughter for her birth. Her Dad couldn’t believe I had made it myself and she still takes that blanket everywhere. (She’s 8 now)
My fav so far has been completing crossaster, given I was pretty new to crochet I was really proud when I finished it and it’s such a stunning pattern.
Fav projects are actually many, but one that stands out is Dream Glow made in EFA Pearlescent Fingering in Father Christmas. I added extensive beading and the “wow” factor surprised even me. I always think every project that I’m working on is the most special project I’ve ever made! But by far the most meaningful thing I ever worked on was a little stranded knitted bookmark. It was the first time I tried to make something like that. It happened to be right before my little brother passed away unexpectedly and I tucked it into his pocket in his coffin. Now when I make something with all of the beautiful colors swapping around it reminds me of him and how we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow.
I love all the projects that I work on, but one of my favorites was a cowl that I made. My daughter’s best friend was moving in with us, getting away from a traumatic family situation, and I knitted a bulky cowl for her to welcome her to our home. Coming from Texas she was not prepared for the colder weather of the Pacific NorthWest. It’s been 8 years now and she still loves and wears that cowl!
The most special item(and my favorite) was the baby blanket that my husband’s grandmother started and I was privileged to finish after she passed. The blanket was for her second great great grandchild.
Every project I make is my favorite – while I’m making it! But my all-time favorite, I think, is a shawl I made in honor of the eclipse last year. The design was by a local designer, made with local yarns, and represented different facets of life here in the Rochester, New York, area. It had stitches representing flowers, growing plants, water and bridges, among other things. It’s so gorgeous, and I am so proud of it, and proud of where I live.
My favorite project was a blanket I crocheted for my Father. It was a challenge. I learned a few new stitches and he loved it.
I retired a few years ago and one day walking through my churche’s parking lot, I met two wonderful ladies pulling little wagons filled with yarn. They were the head of a crochet minestry. When I told them that I would love to join but did not know how to crochet. They said they would teach me and they did. The first thing I croched was a granny stripe blanket for the family of an organ donner. I was so thrilled that not only did I learned to crochet, but was able to give something to a family that had lost so much. In the past two years I have made other blankets that I have been proud of, but none as much as the first one.
My favorite project so far has been a cardigan that I’ve designed myself! It has a lovely leaf motif on the back and little berries on the front. I hope to publish it someday!
I like to crochet and knit amigurumi and other stuffed toys. My favourite one was a Pig that I knitted from a British pattern. What was special about this pattern is that you needed to make it furry by using a special wire brush (I forgot the name of the brush). I ended up using a wire cat brush! It worked very well!!
My favorite would be a Bavarian crochet blanket I made as a gift for a friend.
My favorite projects are the ones I made for my family, in particular a purple blanket for my father.
My favorite thing I’ve ever made was probably a ski mask I made to look like one of the creatures from Doctor Who called an Ood. It is hard to see out of and very warm (great when I lived in Minnesota), plus the brain ball ran out of juice and stopped glowing, but I still love it.

Hats for my family based on the painted ceiling of an inn from our favorite family vacation. It was the first colorwork I’d ever done.
I have several favorite projects, by my absolute favorite project is the first pullover I ever made. It fit perfect and is super cozy to wear. It is knit in stockinette, but when the body is complete it is turned inside out to finish. The purl side is featured with some added texture at the neckline and shoulders.
Actually my favorite piece is not an article of clothing but a Christmas Tree Skirt with trees patterned throughout–all in cream. I would love to make a cardigan, but am chicken without a resource person to consult should I get stuck.
I love to knit and crochet along with other craft projects.
One of my favorite projects was crocheting center pieces for baby showers out of yarn and also crochet thread.
I stiffened them with a prduct stiffener. I made large booties, baskets, bonnetts, trains and pacifiers
My first pair of socks as I had previously considered that knitting socks required some magical ability – but by following an online tutorial I was able to do it!
My favorite/most special project I’ve made to date has to be the Expression Fiber Arts crochet shawl I made for my mom last Christmas. It was made in alpaca silk and it was gorgeous. It is special because it was for my momma, it was my first time using alpaca silk (which made me fall in love with that yarn), I learned new crochet stitches and learned how to block. Plus the end product turned out beautiful.
My favorite project is my first shawl involving lace on the border .i am now working on one with lace through out.

My favorite project I have made, so far, was the delicate shawl pattern called MY PEARL by Julita Janicka, made with your Expression Fiber Arts, luscious, 100% mulberry silk, Allure Fingering kit, in the awesome gradient green hues colorway called Wandering Far Hues. However, I am fickle, because my favorite project changes and usually becomes the one I am currently working on. So, I am quickly changing my favorite project to the same pattern, now made with your Oasis Silk Fingering kit in Boda Hues! This is my first touch of the camel/silk yarn and I am LOVING it! It is going to be great for some warmth through the Fall and coming winter! So soft and SQUISHY! The bounce in that yarn ….. mmmmwah! Every stitch is just so springy and cushy! And the hand-dyed hues of pinks and greens….just so pretty! This is my maiden voyage into the camel fibers! Thanks for taking my virginity in so many fibers like Alpaca, Silk, and now Camel! You are special to me, EFA! (tee hee)

A beautiful collection of yarn as always! My favourite project was a knit cable blanket that I designed especially for a charity event hosted by one of my favourite youtubers. Her reaction to my blanket was wonderful and had me smiling for days. So my favourite thing about that project was that it made her smile, too.

My favorite project so far was an amigurami set of Koroks from the Legend of Zelda that I made for my oldest son as a Christmas gift. My dad and I have shared a love for Zelda games, and I now get to share that with my son, so it was an extra special project for me ❤️

The most special item a made was a Granny square blanket I made last year, together with my mother. About 2 years ago she started knitting and crocheting again. She crocheted 90 grannies and I crocheted them together. We finished this project in the month she turned 90 and now she uses it for over her knees to warm her when she is doing a powernap.

My 2nd favourite project was a self desingned skirt, that was so challinging, and it took like forever because of all the re-do’s, but the result was worth it all and immensely satisfying. Hi Chandi, I love making wearables (sweaters, cardigans, ponchos, scarfs, etc.) for myself and for family and friends. These make for special gifts and the recipients of these gifts are always in awe as they know they have a unique crochet piece in their wardrobe.
My favorite project to date is an afghan that I made for my daughter in her favorite shades of purple.
My favorite project so far is either a blanket or a series of lace pumpkins. The blanket is made of smaller circles in different colors and loosely crocheted together. I made it for my niece before she left for my niece before she left for college. I loved that I could work on small pieces while I was away from the house and combine them when I got home. The pumpkins—well, that was the first time I had to decipher a poorly written pattern. It was incredibly frustrating, but my sister loves them. They’re stuffed with sparkly tulle and fairy lights, and are perfect for Halloween. I’ll never forget those pumpkins—and I’ll never make them again. 😀
It’s hard to choose my favorite project, but I think it is some wall art that is hanging in my living room. I used a lot of scraps of special yarn left from other projects, and I get to look at it all the time.
I made a knitted blanket for our eldest grandson.
It was the largest item I had worked on at the time. He still has the blanket and treasures it.
I have had to do a couple of repairs, but it is still keeping him safe and warm.
I wanted to make a “Harry Styles” color block sweater, but I didn’t have 6 colors of super-bulky weight, one for each of the block patterns in the pattern. So I went completely off the deep end, and wound up using over 90 different yarns, sometimes held two or three stands together, and made every square, the ribbing, cuffs and collar different. I used ruffle yarn for part of one sleeve, neoprene yarn for the collar, and jeans waistbands in the front instead of ribbing. The morning after I finished it, a Sunday, I wore it to go shopping at Safeway. Yeah, I know. Anyway, a man complimented it, we chatted for a few minutes, and he wound up renting it for an indie film he was making. Since I was only doing it for the kicks, I only charged him $10 rental. So I have now attended a movie premier for a film in which I have a special costuming credit, thanks to that sweater.
My most favorite thing to work on was a blanket for my 80yr old Mom. But what made it special was the love that went into every stitch. And the yarn of course…
It’s so hard to choose!! I’ve made lots of different things, trying out new things and learning as I go. But I think the thing that comes to my mind are the blush-colored velvet crochet cardigans I made for myself and my daughter. She was able to wear hers for a few years and loved it, and I had so much fun matching her!
I once made my kid w cloche style winter hat completely off of a picture. I had never made anything without a pattern before and it turned out amazing. I made matching mitts and kiddo wore them to death.
My favorite project so far is a shawl called Escape. It’s special for a couple of reasons, it’s made with fingering weight yarn for starters, and it taught me a new stitch that I absolutely love. It’s the Catherine’s wheel stitch. I have completed 2 to date and I have 2 more on the hook. I’d love to make one using an EFA yarn someday.
My favorite project ever was a set of 4 shawls that I made for my four older sisters in honor of my own 60th birthday. Each of the four shawls had some element of lace, in honor of our mother who was an expert in lace making and lace restoration. All four shawl patterns were from Expression Fiber Arts, as was all the yarn used for the shawls, and I am so grateful to you for inspiring and enabling that special project.
It’s hard to choose one favorite! I think it would have to be the first sweater I crocheted for myself. It was the first clothing item I made and figuring out the fit was a challenge! Beautiful colors this month too!

A couple years ago I picked up crochet again. I hadn’t done it for almost 40 years. One of the first things I made was a very simple blanket for my partner as a Christmas present. He was totally surprised. And I’ve been hooked ever since.

My favorite project is a short sleeved cardigan I made in oasis fingering and allure silk fingering. It took forever to make it since it’s all 1×1 rib knit, but it’s so soft and snuggly.
Hi there, I’ve been thinking about my favorite project I’ve ever worked on and it was actually from about 6 years ago when my son was born. I knitted him a twin size baby blanket that he can use as he grows. I designed it myself using cable charts and elements I found in other projects. If I remember right I used the twin trees/tree of life and traveling diamonds baby blanket patterns as reference and charted futhark runes to spell out his name in cables at the top. It was a really fun experience putting the whole thing together from concept to execution and he still snuggles with it every night!
my favorite project recently was a scrappy afghan that I ended up buying yarn for LOL It was a wave pattern and I’d do a row of a multi color then a coordinating solid, then a different multi etc. It was fun because of the challenge in the colors matching and changing.

I’ve made a huge Hobbs from “Calvin and Hobbs” for my grandfather with Lewy body dementia. My grandmother has told me that he loved that gift and now she keeps it on her bookshelf next to his signature hat. It was one of the most difficult projects with all the stripes, but I know that it is loved.
My favorite ever has to be the pattern By Popular Demand by Theressa Silver. It’s utterly wearable and looks great on every body type; also, I managed to cast on over 200 stitches and join to knit in the round without a twist on the first try!
My favorite thing I’ve ever made, is a sweater, Sidar Aran 8486 (a cabled sweater), I knitted for my husband. I loved making him happy (my favorite part of knitting anything for anybody.) I also enjoyed a blanket “Windswept” I knitted recently for a sweet baby. I get the most satisfaction from various donation knitting I’ve been honored to participate in, throughout my life.
“Favorite Project Ever” is a really tough call for someone who has been crafting for more than 70 years! More or less recently, though, is a shawl with the pattern “Virus.” I first made this shawl near the beginning of the pandemic, and this pattern remains a favorite of mine. Something about the way it repeats in lovely fans, overlapping one another, and broadening with the triangular shape of the shawl, draws me in. Meditative wonderment.
My favorite project? That is like asking which daughter is my favorite child!
Perhaps whatever I am working on at the moment, since the connection is current. Of course, that next project, just waiting in the wings (or yarn stash) has a lot of appeal, too!
I am very pleased with my Firebird sweater, since it was a bit of a challenge for me.

When I was still an inexperienced crafter, I decided on an ambitious progect: twin-bed sized blanket from a colection of beginners crochet patterns. My mom bought the yarn for the project because she didn’t trust my yarn choosing skills. I completed the project within a year. I don’t actually remember how long it took me. But since I was making it for my sister, she motivated me by frequently asking about my progress.
She still has it.
Beautiful yarn…as always! Hard to pick a favourite project, I have been knitting for over 60 years! A couple that stand out are the Aran sweaters I made in my early twenties, and my first top down sweater…..that was a game changer! I will never go back to knitting separate pieces you have to sew together!
My favourite thing I ever made is a chenille stuffed animal i made for my husband. It’s about 16″ tall and very huggable and we both love it. Second favourite thing is a shawl that I HATED while making it and wanted to get rid of it when i finished. Now it’s one of my favourite accessories. I guess you never know huh

My first pair of socks. I was a very beginner knitter and really wanted to learn how to knit socks. So look a class with a friend over a decade ago. Still have those socks. They are well knitter too big. They make great bed socks though!
My favorite project is the cotton dish clothes I knitted for my mom. Next favorite project was the scarf I knitted for myself. It was my first project and I still wear my scarf every winter.
My favorite project I ever made were a pair of crocheted pants I made myself. They were a pattern I was testing for a designer, they are stacked skulls and you crocheted the lining as you went!! I just love them and they are soooo comfortable and warm!! Plus the designer is very size inclusive and always does a plus size version whenever she designs something, I just love her!!
My fave ever project was probably the version of the Desert Path Stole made as a gift in beautiful alpaca. I made it as a blanket and it was so cozy and so well loved by its recipient.
Hi! I think my favorite projects are any that were requested, such as the pillow cover my son asked for or the stuffed animals my grandchildren request.
My favourite project was a bunny amigurumi I made for my sister for her birthday. It was soo cute and my sister still cherishes it to this day.
My favorite project was the 2022 MKAL Perseverance. I love the bias construction and all the interesting stitches that were used. I wasn’t able to keep up with the KAL but it was so worth the effort. I have had many compliments on how it turned out.
The Multivalence blanket/throw from the 2023 MCAL is my favourite project so far. I looked forward to each month’s new clue and enjoyed learning different stitches and along the way.
I have two favorites and the both have to do with my mom. One is 2 shawls I made. Exactly the same, one for her and me, each in or favorite colors. And the other was just this summer, she fell in love with a granny square vest, so I just made it for her. She is so proud when she wears it. She just keeps telling everybodey I made it for her ❤️

I’ve had several favorite crochet items. The most recent one is a crocheted sweater coat for my 3-1/2 year old granddaughter, done in raspberry with a light pink ruffle on the cuffs and ends.

My favorite project so far is the Mosaic Jumper. I loved seeing how the design just blossomed in the sweater.
My favorite project? My first cocoon wrap. It was my first “big” project, and my first wearable. A friend had a cozy knit cocoon wrap she always posted wearing in the winter months and I just loved it. So I zoomed in on one of her pictures and made up a pattern to copy the cables, the ribbing, the stockinette, and… I think 2 years later, I finished! 🥳 That was just such a big accomplishment for me.
My favorites – an afghan for my husband that I was able to crochet up in secret and gift to him for Christmas. One of my favs because it was the only thing I had crocheted for HIM and it was his favorite colors. And, it won the grand champion ribbon in the fall county fair! My other fav was an afghan with a fox in the center that I crocheted for my son, a fox lover, because I knew that he would be touched and would cherish it.
My favorite project so far is the Sweetgum cardigan. It was a bit of a challenge for me as I had never held yarn double before, I love learning new things by picking projects with a new skill in them. I absolutely loved working with the twisted tweed sport! I also loved the challenge of making changes to make the sleeves shorter since as written the sleeves would have been way too long. I had such a feeling of accomplishment when I was done!
Oh my….. my favorite project I think was a stuffed bear. I was new to knitting and I was so excited that I could do something like that. It gave me confidence to keep trying harder things that I didn’t think I could do. And he was super cute 😍

I don’t know that I have a ‘favourite’ project, but one that is special is a top down hoodie I knit for my grand-niece’s birthday gift during Covid. As with many hand knit gifts, it was late. I went to their house, rang the doorbell, left the gift bag on the front porch and went back down the steps. Dad (my nephew) opened the door and called her to come see. She was so excited!!! She put it on and kept ‘petting it’ while twirling around. With that kind of reaction, I’ll be knitting for her again!
When her father was young, I knit him a Superman sweater. The pattern hadn’t come out yet, so I took one of his father’s comic books and charted the “S” on graph paper. My nephew loved it so much that he wouldn’t take it off. When he changed for bed, he’d only slip his arms out of the sleeves and take his clothes off around it. He’d then wear it over his pjs. Fortunately, he’s a deep sleeper, so periodically, once asleep, his parents would take it off, wash it and then out it back on without him noticing. He wore it until he grew out of it. OK, maybe this is my favourite project, after all.
I think that my favorite project will always be my next one. The sense of possibility makes it exciting.

As for a favorite project, I don’t know if I can pick only one! It feels like picking a favorite child 😁 I do have a particular fondness for my crochet bags, not only because I get a lot of use out of them, but also because it is intricate work. You have to assemble or construct the bag; you have to add or attach the handles and the lining. At the end though, you have a more elaborate finished product, and I think it give a tremendous sense of satisfaction when you’re finished and you get to use it.
My favorite things to crochet are shawls and amigurumi toys. I cannot pick one because there are things I love about each of them.
My favorite item that I have knit is a vest with Buttery Sport. The yarn was so lovely to work with and the stitch definition was exquisite. Currently I’m using a the Someday Hues kit for a MKAL Shawl. What was really great is that I ordered it Sunday 9/30 and let them know in the comments that the first clue dropped on Mon. the 1st of Oct. it was here Thursday the 3rd. Couldn’t ask for a better product or service!
My fave was the three gnomes I made for my husband and two adult kids for Christmas last year. Each was slightly different and each person loved theirs. I have to say they are adorable!!

Hi Chandi: My favorite project is the Sweet Dreams shawl by Boo Knits. I’ve made over 40 of them for family and friends. But my favorite project (after I completed it) was the Durrow shawl by Lucy Hague, which I made for my dear sister, and it took months but it was during the pandemic, and I felt very proud of completing it.

My favorite knitting project was my first-a cable sample blanket. I sure learned a lot more than knit and pearl doing that!
My favorite project is a light blue worsted-weight cabled hoodie with a zipper, because it was heavily modified from a cardigan pattern, came out EXACTLY like I envisioned, and I learned a whole lot while making it. And it’s the warmest thing I have, perfect for both late autumn outside the house, and mid-winter inside the house.
I made a custom sweater for my dad. My mom once started making a sweater for him but she stopped before she even truly had started. So on a whim I decided that I would make that sweater for him.
I made different swatches of stitch patterns and asked my mom which she preferred.
Dad wears the sweater on special occasions or when it’s really cold because it’s a warm one 🙂

My favorite project I have ever worked on was a blanket. I found some of my great grandmother’s granny squares in the back of a cabinet at my mom’s house. I used her squares and made some of my own and wove them together into a blanket. It was so meaningful to me and my mom!
One of my favorite projects was the Alium Cowl from Expression Fiber Arts. It was my first not-so-basic project when I first learned to knit a couple of years ago after being a lifelong crocheted.
My favorite project was the first sweater I made for my daughter. It was the first garment I ever made and I feel a great sense of accomplishment every time I see it worn. Three years later it’s held up spectacularly and, incredibly, she still fits in it.
A beautiful dark purple cabled sweater.. It’s construction was unusual and I really liked making it. I was amazed by the creativity of the designer.
Favourite project right now is making crochet blankets for Christmas gifts for a local women’s shelter. Our office buys gifts for the residents who stay short term over Christmas (mainly supporting the children) and these are personal gifts for each of the moms experiencing violence who will be homed outside their usual residence during the holidays.
My favourite project was a colourful scarf for my husband, it was a double knit and ended up over seven feet long for him but he loves it and wears it every winter!

There’s no way I could pick out a favorite project, but my favorite *kinds* of projects are those I’m making with someone in mind or those where the yarn has a special meaning–a skein my husband bought for me, a skein I bought with a gift certificate from a friend, a skein from a long-awaited vacation spot. I love thinking about a person or a memory as I’m working on my project.
The colors this month (as every month) are gorgeous. I *need* that cosmic confetti!
A lotus flower blanket that used at least 15 different colors of yarn to create the 3D lotus flowers. I blended the shades in different ways to create cohesion while making each flower unique.
A hooded scarf for my son in his favorite neon colors. Crocheted.
My favorite project was a lacy crochet shawl called the Seraphina. Crochet was starting to throw off its reputation as the “ugly stepsister” to knitting. This shawl became legendary, there had been no official “pattern” available for it. It was created by one gal who shared her completed project online and set off a stampede of excited requests for her to provide one. She posted notes and drawings she’d made, and I decided to make the shawl, choosing a lace weight alpaca yarn for it. It was my first time working with lace weight yarn. Everything about that project was challenging but I managed to master them all, and my reward was a beautiful shawl that remains my favorite nearly 25 years later. I’ve made many more Seraphinas over the years in a variety of yarns, but this one remains my favorite.

My favorite project I’ve made is a Quiet Book I crocheted for my first grandbaby earlier this year. She is about to turn one in a few days and I’m thinking I may make her another one. She’s been the joy of my life and I love making her things with a craft that also brings me joy!
I am making the Rayas Duster, using a silk/Bamboo yarn, and it is so smooth, and feels wonderful going through the hands. I love the look of this pattern also.
My favourite projects are dolls – especially when customers request specific colours and shapes for their special little recipients. A handmade unique little mini me!

Oh these colors! One of my favorite things I made was an afghan for my niece before she was born. I made it from a soft pink yarn, with the fan stitch and a scallop edge and a satin ribbon woven around the edge. She’s nearly 16 now and still has it. I suppose I should make a new one for her. 🙂

My favorite project to date was the mosaic crochet afghan, “Mosaic Bookcase” by ZigzCrochet. it was a gift for a teacher who absolutely loved it.
Waves. 😁. Wow some very nice colors indeed. Okay so I really only started knitting like a month and a half ago. Did a whole lot of research on crochet, knitting and Amigurmi (Like year and half or more, hehe yeah was over thinking and chicken 🐔) So I tried a beginners knitting class and finally after 4 classes, had my ah ha moment and started getting it. So did my class projects 5 so far but tried on my own this scarf, no pattern just something I am sort of visualizing It’s my favorite project so far because 🤣😂, rofl I am totally redoing it like every few rows, mistakes etc, learning but I’m having a blast figuring it out. So not a typical fun or favorite for most but, I’m enjoying the journey and feel like I am learning way more because I am forced to figure it out. If that makes sense. My first knitted pair of socks exploring the world of knitting.
I thought a while about what my favorite project would be, and I’ve decided it’s my scrap blanket. I’ve been working on a cozy memories blanket for 4 years, and it’s got leftovers from all of my projects. So it gives me joy to see it and add to it because all of my projects are wrapped up in it.
Well I’d say my favorite project{s} were afghans that I crocheted for my family members. The ones I made for my mom and dad have now come back to me.
My favorite project I worked on is a breast cancer blanket for my best friend. My best friend found out she had breast cancer at her 1st mamo gram, she just turned 31. I stood by her as she made the decision for a double mastectomy and all the depression it causes later. 2 years ago I decided to crotchet a breast cancer blanket with the beautiful ribbons inlaid for her birthday. My best friend is a survivor and I honor her.
My favorite project was the first crocheted blanket I made for my husband. I worked on it for weeks and even though it is riddled with mistakes, my husband loves it and it is proudly pulled out anytime we have guests because he loves to show it off.
I think it was the “Winters Beach Cardi” because of the texture and how the finished item looks.

I like to knit pullovers, but one of my favorite projects was to knit a pullover for my husband. He ist tall and all pullovers were to short for his hands. So I knitted an extra-long pullover with extra-long sleeves and he was happy!
My favorite is a scarf, I knitting my spouse; it’s a 3 meter long black “monster”, and it’s special, because this was my first knitting piece, and my husband love it. 🙂
My favorite is my latest finished cardi. I LOVE everything about it, the luxurious yarn, the color, the fit and the experience of designing, choosing yarn and knitting it.
I’m really just re-learning the basics I learned as a child, so I’m starting with a fairly simple scarf.
I think the one afghan I like the most is my scrappy one. It is so satisfying to use up all the little bits of scrap yarn, especially since I have so much from my other projects.
My favorite project is always the one I’m currently working on! But if I had to chose it would be my Mabon Shawl. It worked up beautifully and I won a blue ribbon at the local fair.

My favorite project so far is a toss up between my first MKAL–it was fun and taught me new techniques and let me play with colors I wouldn’t normally have used–and a cowl I knit for my father-in-law–it solved a lot of problems with cold and his loss of manual dexterity, and I really like making beautiful things that are also super functional

I love my rainbow crochet ripple blanket since it was yarns left from my grandmother!
My favorite project so far was a temperature blanket that I made for my parents’ 60th wedding anniversary a few years ago. They were born in the same year, so I researched the weather from 1943 and created a medium sized panel with their high daily temps. Then I did 4 more smaller panels, one for each year their children were born. I incorporated an eyelet pattern to help reduce some of the weight as it was done in worsted. And I joined all the panels together with cream eyelet borders and then surrounded the entire blanket with a leaf pattern border. I found tiny silver initial charms and attached them to the knitting row that matched the day of each person’s birth. And then embroidered a cloth label as a key to the colors and the occasion of the gift and attached it to the back. We celebrated their anniversary on Easter that year as they were days apart. But unfortunately, literally as they were opening the present, my dad got a call that his only brother had just died…..so it was a bit of a disappointment that the gift now also is a negative reminder of the loss of my Uncle. But hopefully, it will be around for future generations as something special about their grandparents/great-grandparents, etc…
I love to make shawls, but I made a purse a while ago with sunflower granny squares that came out nicely. I lined it with some fabric that I had as well.
I guess my favorite would by my Celtic Myths shawl. It was quite a stretch for my skills at first and I actually had a lot of help from a friend of mine that ended up moving. It was a real joint project and I can think of her every time I wear it.
One of my favorite knits was a shawl for my sister. We knit one for each other. 🤗

My favorite project was a shawl I made for my Mom. I didn’t crochet it tight enough (it was my first wearble) so when my Mom washed it, it came out all wonky. But she wore it for years.
One of my favourite projects was this year’s MCAL indivisible as it’s the first time that I participated in a MCAL and I thoroughly enjoy myself. The fact that I was fortunate enough to be able to do it with your beautiful yarn made it even more special.
Gifts that people enjoy are probably my favorite! A blanket that I made my mom soon after picking knitting back up was so relaxing and it makes me feel so good to see it in her house when I visit.
My favorite project I have made was the Sunset Diamonds Shawl. This was the 2nd time using your yarn. The reason was the pattern was something that I had never done before and I love the stitches and how we had to use 2 different colors to achieve the look. The Shawl was breathtaking and it is my favorite Shawl and every time I wear it I get compliments. I introduce myself to your beautiful yarn and now I’m hooked. My favorite project was a crochet Raggedy Ann doll that I made in 2022, she stands 2 feet tall and is made in all cotton, even her clothes. She is special to me because when I was little I had a Raggedy Ann doll that I loved dearly and two neighborhood boys grabbed her from me and crushed her in a mud puddle. Apparently she wasn’t washable so my mom threw her away. I never got a replacement for her until I made this one 56 years later. It was so amazing to watch her come alive with every stitch.

Wow, I have so many projects I’ve loved. I think the first one that comes to mind is a cowl I made with yarn bought in Alaska when we cruised in 2017. It was my husband and I and our 2 adult children and it was wonderful!
During the pandemic lock down I made my family and friends “Hero Bears”.
I made a total of 27.
I’ve picked them because they were a joy to make and it was a way of me protecting my family.
Each one was sent off with a hug and a kiss.
Due to health problems I ended up virtually only seeing my husband in the flesh for almost 18 months.
So making and sending gifts helped me feel close to them.
I return I got lots of homemade cards and paintings. That I have saved into a folder.
So hard to choose a single favourite project, but I guess the item I wear the most is my travelling woman shawl made in 2010 from NDS unicorn – an indie died yarn mix of silk, baby camel and cashmere. It taught me to value good quality yarn over cheap and cheerful acrylic. (Which will always have a place in my stash cause for some things it is the right yarn to use) now I’ve learnt to spin and my handspun shifty sweater is one of my favourites.
My favorite was a king size granny square afghan that was made with bulky yarn and used as a wall hanging
My favorite project, so far, was a sweater for my granddaughter. It was as beautiful as she is. I am always amazed at what I am able to create and find it completely satisfying. My first ever knit hat! I’ve been an avid crocheter since I was a kid, but always struggled to find my way with knitting. I sat down this summer and told myself that I was going to make it happen. my first hat is full of mistakes but I’ve come a long way since then and I’m looking forward to knitting my way thru my Ravelry list of all of the things I’ve wished I could knit.

My favorite thing I ever knit was a pair of mittens. The yarn is scrumptious and I love the colors, even after about 20 years.
My favorite projects have been creating and making my own cardigan sweaters and especially my mohair cowl necked sweater. All we’re done using Tunisian stitches.

My all time favorite project was The Stephen West Mystery Knit Along Shawlography, and I would love to make another shawl with all the beautiful colors in Your Give Away Yarn, the design of the shawl is an Artwork, that makes it so special. October is my Birth month.
My favorite project was a 2 color brioche shawl. My daughter bought me the pattern and it came out beautifully.
I think I am most proud of the Eriginea shawl I made. It was one of the first patterns where I followed a chart. It wasn’t perfect but i loved the colors and it came out very nicely.
I think my favorite would be the Crossaster. It was a gorgeous pattern, easy to do and used my became my favorite yard base, Alpaca Silk Lace.
My favorite project or I should say the one I’m most proud of is a Lego Spider-Man graphgan that I made for my nephew. It was made with granny squares that were 3 inches each. Definitely a labor of love. It ended up being the size a king size bed.
I really want to make myself a cardigan though. I really think that would end up being my favorite project.
My favorite has to be my first completed project. 38 years ago, I started a cardigan while pregnant with my firstborn. As of last Thursday, I’m still getting compliments on it, even after my daughter “borrowed it” for 5 years.
I just learned how to knit a couple of months ago and made a hat and matching fingerless gloves. I’m so excited to finally be able to knit. You have so many beautiful patterns I have wanted to do for the last 5 years since I started following you and I learned how to crochet watching your videos.
Hi Chandi! Love the colorways this month, so rich! My favorite project has been a cocoon cardi – I made it oversized so it hangs well past my butt! It’s made from a cotton-bamboo blend dk yarn, so nice and soft but not too heavy, and I used a lacy C2C pattern. I love wearing it because it’s a neutral tan but the bamboo in the yarn gives it a shine so NOT blah, and it’s large and cozy!
A favorite project was a pair of socks, uniquely made, that I gifted and knew it would be fun and well received by the recipient.
I made the mysa wrap for my mum. It was fun to knit and how much she appreciated it made it feel really special.
My favourite project was definitely the Fall Gloaming shawl. It was the first time I knitted a “proper” project and used such high quality yarns. I wished for the yarn kit as my birthday present from my family and enjoyed every stitch! Your YouTube video gave me the confidence to try out this pattern and once I finished, I was sooo proud! 🙂 It’s such a beloved item and I am wearing it almost every day this fall! ♥
I don’t have an absolute favorite item from the nearly 50 years of knit and crochet, but a recent favorite is a baby blanket I knitted for my newest grandson. He’s the first child of my son and his wife.

I loved working on a pair of Fiddlehead Mittens for my mom using self-striping yarn. It was a very enjoyable knit and they looked more complex, but the self-striping yarn make it easy! And she still wears them and gets compliments to this day, almost 10 years later.
The fingering yarn I just got from you is going into a beautiful Butterfly Crochet Shawl that is going to be just for me! I’ll get started as soon as I can find my swift and get the yarn wound or may say to heck with it and find a couple of chairs lol I never make anything for myself so this is going to be special 🙂
The first ever thing I crocheted, a large blanket. I mean, its not very practical because I used a really thick yarn with a huge hook, the blanket has large holes (because of the hook size…) where toes poke through… But it was my first and I was so proud when I made it.

One Christmas I made 3 custom beanies: SpongeBob SquarePants, Oscar the grouch and cookie monster, all without patterns! I have no idea how I did it! They were Christmas presents.
I recently made my first cardigans for a friend’s Mom (mother of the bride). I had never made any clothing and I was able to step back and say “I did that!”. Mom looked beautiful and it gave me such a sense of pride in my craft.
My favorite project is a lace top that I knitted last winter. It is special many ways. I love the color and the yarn feels soft. It came out really nice and I’m very happy with the outcome. It is actually wearable and I have worn it a lot during summer, which makes me so happy every time.
