Hello, sweet soul! This week, I have a gorgeous crochet shawl pattern to share with you. I’m in love with its colorful, shimmery design, and I think you’re going to adore it too! Keep reading to learn all about it!

Belofte was designed by Donielle Oliver Showvay. When asked about this pattern, Donielle said, “Belofte is the word for ‘promise’ in the Dutch language. The rainbow has always been for me a symbol of promise. A promise that even in the worst storm, there is light at the end. A promise that even in the darkest night, dawn is coming. Everyone has experienced times of hardship, but this shawl is a reminder that there is a Higher Power that will always help us make it through to the other side.”

This is an Intermediate level pattern that is perfect for crocheters who feel comfortable with crocheting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and treble crochet. Short rows are also used for shaping. This pattern includes written instructions, as well as a schematic, and comes with a video tutorial.

Belofte is crocheted with our divine Allure Fingering yarn, which is made from 100% Mulberry Silk. There is truly nothing quite like working with pure silk! The sample shown here was crocheted with our Rainbow Mountain Hues Allure Fingering Kit [218 yds/200 m per skein (2,180 yds/2,000 m per 10-skein kit)]. The colors were used in the following order: A) Aqua, B) Green, C) Sage, D) Blue, E) Dark Purple, F) Light Purple, G) Pink, H) Dark Orange, I) Light Orange, and J) Tan. The sample shown here used nearly all of the yarn in the kit, so gauge is important in this pattern.
