Hello, gorgeous! Today, I have a cozy, snuggly, hooded crochet cardigan that will keep you warm on the coldest of days. I hope you’ll keep reading to learn all about today’s new pattern!
The Chillyjoy cardigan was designed by Cari Jehlik. When asked about the inspiration for this design, Cari said, “Cozy up in this oversize crochet sweater! Chillyjoy is a modified drop shoulder sweater that’s worked from side to side for both the body and sleeves. The hood is picked up and worked directly from the body, and then pockets and a belt round off this generously sized cardigan. The large hook promises a relatively quick sweater project.”
This Intermediate to Advanced level pattern is perfect for the adventurous crocheter who loves to tackle something a bit more complicated. Skills/concepts include working from tables, garment shaping, blocking, and finishing skills. The pattern includes written instructions only, as well as a schematic.
Chillyjoy is crocheted with our snuggly soft and oh-so cozy Enduring Worsted yarn. This yarn has a nice, tight twist, which results in beautiful, defined stitches and projects that will hold up incredibly well. I custom designed this yarn, so that it’s durable enough for items you want to wear and love for a long, long time! This yarn is a blend of 80% Superwash Merino Wool and 20% Nylon and has approximately 180 yards (165 m) per skein. It’s ideal for next-to-skin accessories like scarves and cowls or sweaters, sweet baby items, blankets and so much more!
Chillyjoy is offered in 12 sizes, which correspond to actual bust measurements of 26″ (66 cm) – 70″ (178 cm). Additional measurements are included in the pattern.
The sample shown here was crocheted with colors A) Spruce Enduring Worsted and B) Baby Boo Enduring Worsted. Depending on the size you make, you’ll need 7 (7, 8, 9) (10, 10-11, 11) (12, 12-13, 13, 14) 14-15 skeins of Enduring Worsted for the main color and 2 (2-3, 2-3, 3) (3, 3, 3-4) (3, 4, 4, 4) 4 skeins of Enduring Worsted for the contrasting color.
