Hello, my sweet friend! Today, I have a lovely knitted sock pattern to tell you about. These cute-as-a-button socks are knitted from the toe up and can be made as a little anklet sock or in a mid-length version. I hope you’ll keep reading to learn all about them!
The Rosebud socks were designed by Debi Maige. When asked about the inspiration for this design, Debi said, “I fell in love with rosebuds when my daughter was born, and there were so many baby items available in sweet rosebud patterns. I still love rosebuds over 40 years later and just love these fun, delicate socks. You will start with Judy’s Magic Cast On at the toes, work the heel, and then either work the cuff for the shortie version or work the leg and then a cuff for the longer version.”
This Intermediate level pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/ concepts include sock construction, short rows, working from charts, and lace stitches.
The Rosebud socks are knitted with our Sincere Sock yarn, which is a delightfully soft, fingering-weight treasure that feels like a gentle hug in your hands. Spun from a scrumptious blend of 75% Superwash Merino Wool and 25% Nylon, this yarn offers that perfect balance of cozy softness and lasting durability. No scratchiness, no fuss, just pure comfort! It’s machine-washable (although we always recommend hand-washing your projects), and the way it soaks up color? Absolutely gorgeous! The shades are vibrant, rich, and radiant. With a 3-ply construction for lovely stitch definition and cloud-like squish, this yarn is a dream to work with. Each skein gives you 437 yds/400 m to play with and is perfect for anything your heart can dream up!
The Rosebud socks come in three sizes: Small (Narrow), Medium (Regular), and Large (Wide), which correspond to finished foot circumferences of 6.25 (7, 8)” / 16 (18, 20.5) cm. Instructions are included to make an anklet version, as well as a mid-length version, and the length is customizable.
The samples shown here were knitted with our Fondant Sincere Sock (anklet version) and Sage Sincere Sock (mid-length version). You’ll need one skein of Sincere Sock yarn to knit any of the three sizes of the Rosebud socks.

The pattern includes written instructions, as well as a chart and a schematic. The instructions are written for the Magic Loop method or the method in which two short circular needles are used. If you wish to knit these socks with DPNs, you’ll have to adjust the pattern.
