Hello, sweet soul! I am so excited to let you know that Clue #2 of our 2026 yearlong Mystery Crochet Along (MCAL) is now available to download! Arcoiris was designed by Johanna Huck. When asked about this pattern, Johanna said, “Embark on a 12-month crochet adventure as you craft the Arcoiris MCAL. Arcoiris, the Spanish word for “rainbow,” perfectly describes this project’s journey through a continuous spectrum of hues, representing all the colors of the rainbow. The process begins with a foundation of bold texture, structurally linked to the next clue via a unique, two-color transition section. Your journey will take you through a diverse range of stitchwork, exploring both delicate lacework and rich, dimensional texture. Midway, the construction shifts to a new panel that introduces ornate, flowing designs before building to deep, autumnal texture. Finally, the project culminates with a dimensional, geometric piece worked in the round before the three sections are united and crowned with a final embellishment.”

This pattern is an Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate level design and is for crocheters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Concepts include working to gauge, color changes, reading charts, special stitches, seaming, and blocking.

To crochet Arcoiris, you will need 12 different colored skeins of our dreamy soft Wishglow Sport yarn or an equivalent amount of yarn/yardage in another sport-weight yarn. For Clue #2, we used Radiance Wishglow Sport yarn.

Each month, we’ll let you know which color we used for that clue, but you can also create your own color combination. We DO recommend that you choose colors with a good amount of contrast among them, and crochet Arcoiris with at least two different colors.

Wishglow Sport is a heavenly, delectable blend of 50% Superwash Fine Merino Wool (19.5 micron) and 50% Mulberry Silk that’s unbelievably soft with a dreamy, shimmering glow. Light and airy, this yarn is perfect for flowing shawls, super soft garments, silky accessories, and more! This two-ply yarn has 383 yds/350 m per 100-gram skein. A joy to work with and wear! Supple and shining with beautiful stitch definition!
