Hello, my delightful daisy! Today, I have a sweet, crocheted, rectangle shawl to share with you. I think you’re going to LOVE making this relaxing design, so keep reading to learn all about it!
Aimer was designed by Elisabeth Carr. When asked about this pattern, Elisabeth said, “Aimer means ‘to love.’ Love is a choice that we have to make every day, and I hope this shawl can be a reminder that it is the best choice. This is a rectangular shawl that is worked lengthwise, starting from one side and working to the other. The chain spaces are used to create a pattern inside the shawl.”
This is an Adventurous Beginner level pattern that is suitable for crocheters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. The stitches used in this pattern are simple double crochet and chain spaces. However, the pattern itself can be considered more challenging than normal, as the chain spaces are used to create a heart pattern.
Aimer is crocheted with our super popular Luster Sport, which is a beautifully shimmering and soft yarn with a squish factor that is amazing! Luster Sport is a blend of 50% Superwash Merino Wool and 50% Lyocell, a plant fiber that provides the glow of silk without the price. This yarn is ideal for virtually any type of garment or accessory, from head to toe, as well as blankets, baby items, and home decor and has 395 yds/361 m per skein.
We used our stunning Clematis Hues Luster Sport Kit to make the sample shown here, and it used approximately 1,540 yds/1,408 m total (Color A: 385 yds/352 m, Color B: 385 yds/352 m, Color C: 385 yds/352 m, and Color D: 385 yds/352 m). The four colors were worked from dark to light.
We made a video showing how to begin working the first few rows of this pattern. Grab your hook and some yarn, and get ready to crochet a few stitches with me!
This pattern includes both written and charted instructions.
