I mainly use a fingering weight yarn or wool to create my projects with. But any wool/yarn is my heaven!
I usually crochet with dk or worsted weights but have been doing more with fingering yarns. I love all yarns, and yours is exceptional well to work with. Thanks Chandi!
Hi Chandi! I absolutely Love your yarn and all the patterns you share with us!! Love your tutorials, they are easy to follow!!
I love to crochet with fingering and DK yarn. But also enjoy the worsted yarn and occasionally use chunky yarn for winter patterns.
I usually use fingering and I love it
I love your yarns and colors. They are so luxurious! I would love to win this month!!
I tend to work with heavier weights but love knitting with any size honestly 🥰
Hello Chandi,
I love your yarns The olour pallettes are gorgeous. I crochet and/or knit mostly with worsted and DK. I love the Superwash Merino base. I have never used Fingering or Lace. I have crocheted your Undulation scarf as a Christmas gift.
Right now I am in the process of crocheting one of Martin Upnorth’s The Heinz blanket mosaic pattern for my grandson. I am making it in LSU’s colours of maroon and gold. Wish me luck as this is my first mosaic project.
I enjoy your videos both on YouTube and FB. Take good care and keep up the good work. Blessings.
I crochet and since I started with amigurumi, worsted weight is my primary. But I’ve gotten so I’m trying different weights and patterns now.
I love sport weight for tops
I love knitting with lace and fingering yarn!
Fingering is my favorite.
I usually use your Fingering and Lace weight yarns. Working with Alpaca Silk Lace is so wonderful feeling.
I mainly use anything from fingering to dk, and bulky depending on the project.
What website do o you want listed yours?
I love working with fingering weight. I am in the process of learning to spin using a drop spindle. I love it.
I forgot to add that I usually crochet, haven’t knitted since college in ’68, trying to get back into it. CA
I’ve mostly knitted with fingering weight. I’ll crochet with anything and I’m game to try everything!
I forgot to add that I usually crochet, haven’t knitted since college in ’68, trying to get back into it. CA.
This is additional information.
I love crocheting with all weights of yarn. I believe each weight has something different
To offer and enjoy.
Lace and fingering yarn are my jam . My daughter loves wearing plant based clothes.
I really enjoy working with many weights of yarn, love lace weight, fingering, DK, Worsted weights along with Crochet Cotton – size 10 down to size 30.
Oh my favorite is for sure the dewy dk. But the fingering is wonderful for lighter projects. 💞💕
Love fingering weight! I also use 2 strands of fingering a lot. It adds a little extra weight without adding a lot of bulk.
I crochet more with worsted weight, and knit more with DK. That has more to do with the yarns that catch my eye though 🙂
I usually crochet with dk yarn
I love your yarn! I’m just returning to knitting after many years (plan to crochet also), so I don’t know my preferred weight yet. I want to try it all!
My favorite yarns to knit with…hmm…I don’t think I have a favorite weight. I do use certain weights for certain types of projects. Bulky for winter type blankets and sweaters, Dk and sock weight for spring shawls, tops, etc
I love knitting socks.
I’m new to crochet and have been working on amigurumi, mostly #4 worsted with yarn. But I would love anything. I really enjoy just looking at your yarns and their inspiration photos. I wish I had unlimited funds and storage space.
I don’t really have a favourite weight of yarn to use but probably prefer sport or fingering
Started my first granny square project, and I totally underestimated how much yarn I need to complete the top I was hoping to make. I’m using only 3 colours, but I definitely need a second skein for two of the colours.
Learning the art gradually. 🙂
I don’t think I have a favorite yarn weight, I mean, it’s yarn 🧶 , what’s not to love.
I use pretty much the whole range, though the really light cobweb/lace yarns are usually held multiple strands or with heavier yarn. Super bulky is not my favorite, but when it’s called for, I use it.
I mostly knit and crochet with DK it worsted weight.
I use fingering weight the most.
I like dk or worsted weight – I need quick projects a lot of the time, or just something thick and squishy!
I used to crochet with worsted weight yarn mostly, but i switched to fingering
I like to knit mostly with DK but have crochet one of your beautiful shawls with fingering wieght yarn
Hi Chandi! These colors are beautiful! Thank you for the generous giveaway! Lately, I have been knitting mostly with sport and fingering-weight yarns.
I usually knit with DK weight or above. What a gorgeous set of skeins in the giveaway 😍
I have primarily purchased fingering weight and DK. Although, I am a beginner, I enjoy learning to knit shawls for friends and family.
Me too! Although I started out with worsted weight yarn because I thought only experienced knitters could use thinner yarns. Love Tim’s designs
Hi Chandi, I’m normally a DK knitter but having tried sincere sock recently an really enjoying the finer yarn (and have ordered a little more!).
Hi. This is very generous of you and as ways the patterns and yarns are stunning. I use fingerling and sport mostly, but content to use any yarn.
I use fingering weight or DK depending on the project
I usually crochet with sport weight although lately I have been doing quite a few projects with fingering.
Hi, Chandi! What an amazing give away this month. My projects range from shawls to blankets and also making stuffed animals. So I use so many different weights. But I like crocheting and knitting with fingering, sport, and DK weight yarns. Have a lovely day. Thank you for the Amazin give away!
I’m content (and able!) to knit with any weight of yarn, but it looks like from my Ravelry projects that the greatest number are worsted weight.
These are some beautiful colors…..the blues and greens and purples are really gorgeous
I’m usually a worsted (4), sport (3), or bulky (5) knitter/crocheter. Amd I love to make socks, too, so I’ll dabble in a (2) weight for those.
Beautifully arranged! A work of art, as always!
As for yarns I like to work with, I don’t have a preference of weight, but I seem to gravitate towards sport or fingering.
Love working with Blossom Fingering for sure!
I both knit and crochet and have for over 20 years. I work with lace to worsted weight yarns. My children prefer me to work bulky yarn items because they are often softer than others. So I have worked with many fibers.
I knit with any weight yarn. From last to worsted I love them all. It depends on what I’m knitting. If I’m knitting a show piece, I’ll choose lace or fingering weight. But for hats and sweaters, I prefer DK or Worsted.
Worsted!
I enjoy working with fingerling, and some heavy wool as well.
I am loving these colours. God bless
I knit with fingering or dk. Most patterns call for those weights and double fingering counts as dk, so that is life made easy.
I personally love the sport weight yarn, how it feels going through my fingers…pure joy
I love working on size 7-8 needles 😉. And my brain doesn’t accept yarn sizing so I just go off needle sizes 🤣🤣
Fingering/sport yarns are my preferred yarns for the projects I really love. I also like using worsted weight or bulky yarns for a break or quick gifts.
I enjoy knitting with fingering weight and sport weight yarns. I Love your yarns!
I prefer DK to fingering weight, but will find a beautiful use for any weight!
I usually knit with fingering weight yarn.
I like lace, sport, fingering yarn weight.
I uaually use worsted weight yarns.
Lace and fingering are my favourite yarns, but I will knit with other weights depending on the project.
I usually work with worsted weight but I have been enjoying using sport weight recently so I’ll probably change my tune!
My favorite would be DK
I don’t think I have a preferred yarn weight. I like them all for different projects.
I usually crochet with worsted or DK, but am in the middle of the Florescence shawl and have fallen in love with fingering! I’m attempting to learn to knit again, this time with Chandi’s videos…using worsted weight wool.
Hi Chandi – I love to crochet with fingering weight for garments and worsted weight for blankets. More important that weight, to me, is how the yarn feels in my hands when I crochet. Love a soft, squishy texture.
I pretty much only use fingering weight, just like the way it works up….made a cowl with worsted for a friend & it just felt weird, the needles were too big!!
Making the “photography shawl” with ‘desert’ DK, it’s on small needles so it’s ok ….it’s a pattern for specifically non superwash, the “ridges” are holding up wonderfully!!
My knitting journey began 5 yrs ago with Worsted weight yarns. I recently tried DK and really love it. Fingering weight is my next adventure thanks to your beautiful offerings!
I don’t discriminate :-), but lately it’s been mostly fingering and some sport weight – all thanks to your gorgeous yarns, Chandi!
I mainly use worsted!
I prefer dk or worsted weight
I enjoy working with a sport weight yarn.
I love to knit and crochet with fingering weight yarn, and the shinier the better! I am constantly drawn back to your base/dye combos because of the luster, shine, saturation of color, and brilliant color combinations.
I don’t have any preference, I usually choose a project that I like and then use the recommended yarn. But most of my projects were in sock or fingering.
I used to only crochet with worsted weight yarn – I didn’t know that there were other weights! In the past several years I have discovered the different weights, and I have fallen in love with all of them! I just wish I had more time to knit and crochet. The yarn colors are so lovely – it is hard to resist beautiful yarn!
Right now, my favourite is super bulky, because it’s quick, but with warmer weather on the way, I’m switching to lighter weight yarn.
I’m currently mostly using bulky weight yarns
Your photographs are always so yummy!
Hi Chandi, the colors are so beautiful! I normally knit with DK weight yarn, but have recently made some projects with fingering weight that I have enjoyed.
You are always so generous with your giveaways, and the yarn is always so beautiful. I will knit or crochet with any weight from fingering/sock through bulky, but my preferred weight is DK.
God bless…
I usually work with fingering weight yarn.
I love all types of yarn, it depends on the project 🙂
Holy wow! This months giveaway yarn is spectacular. I usually knit with fingering weight yarn. I love knitting socks & shawls.
I normally gravitate to fingerling weight. Thank you for the fun giveaway! It’s MAY!!!! whoohoo!
Usually fingering or DK. This year’s sweater project is fingering.
I mostly have used 3 or 4 weight but I’m exploring more into 2 weight and have been enjoying it. Especially with your mirage sport and the MCAL. Its been very enjoyable!
I don’t think I have a favourite anymore. It used to be aran/worsted but I’ve since come to love fingering and sport yarn.
Most of my projects are made with fingering weight yarn.
Je suis toujours aussi fan de ces magnifiques photos et couleurs
I usually knit with fingering weight yarn, it is better for our Florida climate!
Mostly worsted and Aran, but I have been doing some fingering and DK lately for lacework.
I usually knit with worsted weight yarn. But I have recently discovered your beautiful pearlescent fingering weight yarn and pretty patterns. I’m looking forward to making some sweaters this fall.
I enjoy a variety of weights and am not adverse to lace and fingering. Super chunky isn’t called for too much in the patterns I choose. Sport, dk and worsted run the gamut. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity, beautiful colors!
Good morning! I almost always buy fingering weight yarn because it can be doubled or tripled to make heavier weight yarns equivalents.
Thanks for all the lovely yarn, Chandi. I usually kit with fingering as I knit lots of socks and shawls but all yarn is good. I only avoid the superjumbo as I find it hurts my hands working with it.
I love to crochet with lace and fingering, because I LOVE to turn everything into miniatures! I just made a granny squares using sewing thread! But also go for yarn weight 4. But honestly I’m go for anything, just had an order for a mushroom using yarn weight 7
What beautiful floral inspired colors! Personally, I knit a lot of socks so primarily fingering or dk for me!
I knit and crochet with various weights of yarn depending on the project.
Hi Chandi! 😊👋🏝 Thanks for another chance in this gorgeous and scrumptious giveaway! ❤️🧶I crochet mostly with Fingering yarns especially those with plant-based blends. Wishing you and everyone a wonderful May 2023!
As a beginner knitter, I like a heavier weight yarn (dk) ,but as my skills grow I am using more fingerling weight yarn for “ prettier” projects.
Generally with worsted weight. But I have been known to combine weights. My eyesight isn’t fantastic so small needles/hooks can be a pain xx thanks for the chance at the fabulous giveaway xx Happy May xx
Fingering
Fingering, Sport, DK and Worsted!
I use pretty much any yarn weight when knitting garments but Dk is my favorite. Your color schemes and yarns are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for sharing your passion with all of us
Fingering weight is my favorite!
My hands ache if I use more thicker than worsted, but a fingering or DK has been my favorite recently! A soft worsted will always be my favorite for afghans and baby blankets though:)
I prefer the lighter side of things, but will use whatever’s right for the pattern.
I am versatile in my yarn collection but I usually use fingering weight
I usually knit with sport to dk weight yarn
I use mostly fingerling and sport yarn
Sport is my favorite with DK a close second!
Sock yarn is my favourite for socks and shawls, sweaters are mostly knit with DK or a plump fingering weight.
I prefer fingering weight yarns but have projects going with all different weights.
I love the coloration of the yarns that you make. They are gorgeous! I usually use fingering weight yarn, specifically sock yarn most often.
I like working with all weights of yarn…variety/spice of life!
I tend to use more sock/fingering weight (shawls, scarves). I keep my worsted weight for afghans & blankets.
Usually DK or sock yarn
Oh these are my colors! I knit with any weight. But if I’m working on something with lace of fingering I will have something bulky, worsted, or dk as a ‘palette cleanser’ so I can finish other things while I’m working on a longer project.
I use worsted and fingering the most, as I love to make both sweaters and shawls 🙂
I usually knit with fingering and mohair when I can afford it.. But I also like knitting with do for many things. And I love a good warm sweater in worsted
I mainly use DK or sport weight, but I’m starting to get more into fingering and lace weights. 🙂
Good morning,
I can’t pick just one yarn I use the most. Although I do like the mirage sport.
Thank you for being so encouraging and positive.
Denise
Happy Tuesday everyone! Chandi, you put a lot of love into your selections for us to enjoy. Thank you so much! I seem to be working with fingering lately, but I am good with them all.
I love these yarns, the colours are amazing.
I love to knit with fingering or lace weight. Occasionally I get really bold and try some heavier weight yarn (sport weight usually… not sure how “bold” that is 😂)
I love all yarn and work with all weights fairly equally
Lovely colors as always! I usually crochet with fingering to DK… maybe worsted for a hat :).
I’m used to DK weight
Here in the UK it has always been the most popular/ affordable and available weight.
There was always Aran/ worsted weight but when I started knitting this was pure wool and very scratchy stuff.
4ply or sport weight was reserved mainly for baby items and sock yarn/ fingering was also on the scratchy side
We are creatures of habit I suppose , and DK is my safe weight because I’ve used it so much and I know exactly what my tension / gauge will be in either knit or crochet .
It is only since discovering the joy of your site and being inspired by all the beautiful projects in sport and fingering weight that I have branched out a bit more
Thank you for all that you continue to do to make our lives more peaceful and happy ❤️
Love fingering for sox. But worsted/aran is my go to for sweaters.
I use fingering or worsted for my projects.
I love knitting with fingering and sock weight!
When crocheting amigurumi I usually use worsted weight yarns. Anything else that I work on project-wise, I guess it depends on the project.
This month’s colors are scrumptious!!
Living in the southern part of the US, it’s fingering all the way. Almost anything heavier is just too warm 99% of the year. Plus socks, got to love knitting socks.
I knit whit fingering yarn
I mostly crochet items with fingering weight yarn.
Love the mix of Spring colors!
Whether I knit or crochet, I often use a lot of fingering, but I’ve also been using some sport and DK weight yarn recently for larger projects. Those tend to make the stitches go by a little bit faster 😀
I’ve mostly used DK or chunky weight yarns, but recently got into using fingering weight and lace yarn for shawls and oh my, I’m in love.
Enduring worsted is my go-to favorite. So soft, squishy and wearable! I’ve made 22 hats with it over the past year for my extended family.🙂
I usually crochet with fingering and dk weight 🙂
I usually use worsted weight yarn when I crochet.
Most of the patterns I have call for worsted weight, but I would love to branch out
those colors say “Spring”
I use anything from lace weight to bulky-not a big fan of the super bulky but I’ll use it if necessary. I’m bicraftual-both knit and crochet. Love your patterns and look forward to fridays!
I have used everything from fingering, to sport, to dk, to worsted, to bulky. I am all over the place. It just depends on what the project is that I am working on!
DK is my fave, sport weight too!
I like to knit with fingering weight yarn!
I love worsted and anything smaller. I find anything bigger than worsted is too hard on my hands. Worsted and DK is perfect for quick knits!
Hi Chandi,
I hope you are well. I like fingering and DK weights the best. They offer so many possibilities.
Have a wonderful, happy, sunshiny day,
Alison
I usually work with threads these days and wools in a fingering weight. Hooks over 5.5mm are very difficult for my hands to manage these days.
I usually work with worsted weight yarn.
Hello Chandi, I am transitioning from loving worsted to loving DK or Sport. I’m beginning to really enjoy how the lighter weights slip off the needles. Thanks for always being so generous with your yarn, patterns and knowledge.
Bonjour, j’aime bien le fingering et DK, mais la plupart des fils tant que je peux faire quelque chose avec, j’adore voir le résultat final quel satisfaction de pouvoir dire que “C’est moi qui l’ai fait!”
As always, I am thankful for your regular email messages of hope and praise. To answer your question, I am using sport weight, but wait! I am using it doubled for marled effect, so it is closer to worsted weight. Because I am making charity hats, I need a little more “oomph” in the yarn than sport alone affords.
Looking forward to your next email!
Lean toward fingering or sport. Currently enjoying working with your Zysia Crema Sock yarn….LOVELY!
I love any weight yarn. The softer the better. Fingering works great. Thank you for the great patterns and yarns.
I use finer yarn for knitting and bigger yarn for crocheting.
I use lace or fingering weight in my crochet projects. I use all different weights in knitted projects.
Good morning, dear Chandi. Thank you for offer the MCAL and for the Generous giveaway. The very best of luck to all the people entering!
I usually knit with DK, and fingering yarns, and of course sock weight yarns. 💕
I tend to prefer fingering or sport weight although I have made cardigans in DK and worsted…Love the stich definition with fingering weight yarns…
As always great colors and selections. Love your yarns and colors. I am usually a fingering weight yarn gal, but lace or sport is great too. Don’t do much with worsted, but DK on occasion. Not cold enough down in NC for me to do much with heavy yarn.
I love to knit socks and hats so I mostly use sock yarn or worsted but all yarns are yummy🥰
I normally know with DK or worsted, but my latest es two projects have been with fingering and it’s been nice!
I use dk for knitting and all for crocheting.
Knitting – Lace / Crochet – fingering.
I am fairly new to knitting. Most of the projects I’ve knitted so far have been with DK weight yarns. A few with fingering and one with super bulky. All that to say, I’m still figuring out which I like best.
This is a beautiful collection of Yarns! I primarily crochet with worsted or sport weight yarns but thanks to Chandi I’m now using her lovely fingering yarns for many projects.
For the first few decades of my knitting journey, I always chose worsted or bulky yarns, but now I am drawn towards fingering weight and my hands prefer the finer yarn and smaller needles!
I love fingering weight yarn, as I find it the most versatile. But of course most of my current projects are worsted or dk! I love your yarns and still have a few skeins in my stash, waiting for the right inspiration.
I never could figure out, but is commenting required to enter? Anyway, I would say I use worsted weight the most, as well as two strands of worsted held together. The runner-up would be size 10 thread!
Commenting is not required to enter, but you do need to click on the link in the blog post where it says to enter, and enter your name and an email address. Winners are chosen from those who are still subscribed to our email list at the end of the month.
I normally crochet with worsted weight but have ventured a few projects with small weights.
Fingering weight is my favorite yarn to knit.
I love how Tim has been arranging and photographing the giveaway yarns. I mostly work with fingering weight these days, though I will occasionally make a worsted weight blanket.
I was hard-line fingering for a long time, (I live in a place with pretty hot summers, and not much of a winter, spring or fall so it let me wear my knits year round). But lately I’ve been adding more dk and even worsted in, for wear when we do have cooler days.
I use the whole range (except for lace weight, which is a sure way to send me off the deep end), but worsted is my favorite.
Lately I’ve been using lace, fingering or sock weight yarn as I’ve been making lightweight sweaters with a lot of fine lacy detail.
I prefer making projects with either fingering weight or DK! I mostly knit though I am teaching myself to crochet as well!
The weight of the yarn varies depending on the project but I really prefer non-acrylic yarn. I have a thing about the feel of fabric/yarn and the softer the better for me. Love EFA yarn, it is all soft and works up so nice on the needles. And the colors are pure heaven!
I mainly gravitate worsted, sport, or DK, but I’m comfortable with any weight
Worsted or bulky! I’m short on time! 🙂
I knit with all weights. Every project is different and I like the diversity.
Beautiful
Depending on how my hands feel, either a 3 or 4 weight. With an occasional fingering weight for small projects.
Fingering weight is my absolute Go-To. If it is for me to wear, it is almost always in fingering weight.
Love working with your fingering yarns. A lot of my projects revolve around worsted weight yarns though.
I love your yarn! I knit with fingering and DC.
I love to make socks, so I mainly use fingering.
I have used worsted for years, but recently have fell in love with fingering while learning to knit socks.
I use mainly worsted, but have started getting into fingering weight. I love to crochet and have an addiction to anything yarn!! I am in love with all your yarn!!
It depends but lately it has been fingering, but do love sport or DK and worsted.
Chandi, thank you for being here. You’re so right..we need each other. Enjoy your tea.
Mostly I prefer Worsted weight. Always knitting hats and mittens so that weight is great. For a scarf if shawl for myself I luv knitting with DK. Thank you so much for this generous opportunity.
I have yet to meet a yarn that I don’t like! I find myself working with DK weight the most!
I usually prefer lighter weights since I live somewhere warm and mostly make garments. That said, I’m no stranger to knitting up a quick bulky weight hat or blanket!
LOVE your Alpaca DK. and LOVE the colors in this arrangement!!! Kate
WHat a generous giveaway.!
I knit most often with lace weight or fingering.
Lately I’ve been knitting with fingering weight, but I also recently made a sweater in bulky and it was so fun to finish a sweater so fast! 🙂
Fingering weight is my fav. But lace is fun too. I love making intricate patterns.
I really enjoy working with lighter weights – fingering/sock/sport – but I enjoy worsted when I want a quick warm project.
This giveaway has some great colors and weights and would be perfect for knitting projects for my baby coming in the fall!
I use all types and weights of yarn. It all depends on what I am making.
I love your Colors <3 Even if I cant buy but I love your colors , so beautiful Things you make
I usually use a heavy fingering or sport weight.
I usually lean towards fingering or lace weight, but I really go where the pattern leads — or sometimes, I go “off path” and use a yarn weight that’s totally different than what the pattern calls for. My favorite is using worsted weight yarn for intricate fingering weight shawl patterns.
Hello,
your yarn is beautiful. I mainly knit socks from sock wool and shawls from Cakes with 2.5 to 3.5 mm needles. On my wish list are still the projects “Seinesation” and “Enchanted”.
Love
Stefanie
Happy May! I love to knit and crochet with lace or fingering wt yarn most of the time. I enjoy making sweaters and I seem to go for lightweight cardigans most of the time.
I love working with most of your yarns. They are beautiful & I have more than I can use in a lifetime. I think I enjoy fingering the most although I also like sport & DK.
I tend to favor the lighter weights, rarely going past heavier than DK.
Usually I crochet with fingering weight yarn. As I am just learning to knit I go for DK
I usually work with fingering/lace but speed and my hands prefer more worsted/DK.
Most of the time I knit with fingering weight yarn!
When I read Chandi’s mails, my heart bursts with gratitude. Thank you
I usually use DK weight but then I bought some of your fingering yarn and fell in love with it. I have made shawls out of the fingering yarn and it drapes very well. Love your yarn.
I usually use worsted weight, but recently, I have been enjoying working with fingering weight.
I love EFA tarns!! My go to yarn if fingering but also love lace, sport and DK. Thank you!
It’s too hard to pick a preferred weight! I know that I tend to like the look of fingering weight best, but it’s rarely a good fit for the kinds of projects I pick up. Certainly the most practical weight to add to my stash is either sport, or worsted.
I’ve been knitting a lot with fingering weight yarn lately, and buying a lot of it. But I really to start exploring other weights and patterns with other weights.
I am an on/off knitter who hasn’t knit for many years now. I just recently got back into it and used your Blossom Fingering to make the Sulentki and Buttery Bulky to make the Creery, both of which were dreams and fun to make! I am anxious to try more of your awesomely soft and dreamy yarns!
Honestly, it all depends on the project and whatever yarn I’m in the mood to work with. I crochet and knit and have multiple WIP’s and switch from one to the other as my heart desires. 😊 Love you! 💕 And as always, thanks for such a beautiful giveaway!😍
Hi, Chandi! What an amazing give away this month. My projects range from shawls to blankets and also making stuffed animals. So I use so many different weights. But I like crocheting and knitting with fingering, sport, and DK weight yarns. Have a lovely day. Thank you for the Amazin give away!
I am a crochetier and use worsted on most of my projects. I have used fingerling on my shawls and ponchos. I really want to make a sweater and am not sure what weight I’ll be using for this, we’ll see. I really would love to win this and just have to decide on the colors..lol
I tend to use DK or sport as I love the drape. For winter hats, I mostly use worsted weight.
The majority of my stash is fingering, but I do love it all!
Hi,
I most often use dk, worsted or fingering weights of yarn but I’m gain for anything from thread all the way up to super bulky and t-shirt yarn.
I love fingering yarn but it takes eons to finish the project so I mostly use sport or DK.
I mostly work with worsted or fingering-weight yarn. Your yarns are so beautiful.
I generally knit with fingering weight yarn because I find the lighter weight yarns are easier on my hands. However, I prefer wearing DK weight knitted items because I like the warmth and weight of DK on my body. I have a large stash of sport but there seems to be fewer patterns (in my area of interest) that call for sport weight.
I prefer to knit with fingering and DK yarn 🙂
I love fingering and lace weight yarns. But occasionally I do something with the heavier weights.
I normally crochet with worsted weight yarn but have used all weights at one time or another. The colors in this giveaway are absolutely beautiful!!
I prefer using sport or dk. Alot of patterns call for fingering weight. My favorite yarns have yak and silk
I love fingering and lace weights! Lace knitting is my favorite and using either of those weights seems to be my jam, which is probably why it takes me forever to finish projects lol!
I use fingering weight, sport/DK and worsted mostly. The pearlescent fingering is so soft and dreamy to work with!
I love sport or DK. Light enough to be versatile but thick enough to work up fast.
I’m on team worsted!
I crochet and knit with all weights of yarn but I find that I most enjoy working with sport weight yarn. That said, I have yet to purchase an EFA yarn base that I have not loved. I am currently knitting “Drift” with the Signature Fingering yarn and it is working up beautifully. Thanks Chandi (and Team) for the wonderful yarns, patterns and YouTube tutorials/inspiration that you offer!!
I mainly use fingering and sport yarns, but I’ve been working more with worsted lately. All of these skeins are so lovely!
My go-to-yarn is fingering weight. I occasionally knit with heavier yarns.
My preference goes to gradient and semi-solid yarns.
I usually go for worsted, but lately I did a project in fingering and really enjoyed the tiny, neat stitches.
I love the yarn, certainly, but I open each of Chandi’s messages as soon as I see it just to see what she calls me that day! My little dew drop is one of my favorites, but I also answer to Sunshine, Dumplin’ or whatever other adorable thing she wants to call me. I prefer fingering weight by the way, but all yarn is lovely.
I have been on a lace/fingering/DK spree lately, but it also depends on what I am making and what it’s for. For example – dog coats are usually made with worsted and acrylic yarn, since they are easy to wash and dogs can get VERY messy (the breed I own lives to roll in mud or play in muddy water).
But – I will take anything you decide to put in the pot – your yarn is luscious!
My yarn size is as chaotic as my brain! It depends on the project and I am all over the place with the different pieces I make!
Love your yarn, I work mostly sock yarn. This way projects get done. Though I would love to try some of your patterns. Can hardly wait to visit my daughter again in Florida and get another stash of yarn delivered.
Normally worsted but a lot more sock and dk these days
I’ve almost always been a worsted girl, but I am doing both the MCAL and MKAL and am loving sport! My next project I want to make something with lace-weight.
I like all weights! DK is the one I use most but I like working with all weights!
Good morning Chandi,
Your yarns are as beautiful as you are; arranged so gorgeously for each month’s giveaway!
I crochet (keep trying to learn to knit!) and have liked every weight I’ve tried so far.
Thank you for your emails, your patterns, the yarns, and just everything you share with us!
I mostly use fingering but when I love a pattern weight doesn’t matter 🙂
Chandi – I like to use DK and worsted but I also like the sport now that I am working with it to make the ‘shlanket.’
I use worsted weight a lot, but also DK weight for some of my lighter projects.
I love any weight of yarn, lol. My all-time fav is Oasis fingering though. Can’t get enough of that one!
Pretty much anything that isn’t bulky, but depends on the project. Looking at past projects with EFA yarns it’s been fingerling and DK.
My projects have used a variety of weights…lace or fingering make luscious shawls, sock weight socks are so comfy, DK gives beautiful stitch definition, and bulky works up quickly. I have no preference, just love the process and results.
Just getting back into knitting. My mom taught me to knit back in the 60’s when I wanted one of those beautiful mohair sweaters and she said I could make one. So I did. It didn’t turn out as well as I had imagined, but it gave me a starting point for the years to come as I knitted my high school and later college sweaters …it was a good calmer for in between finals and studying. Years later I knitted for our babies and kids as they grew. I would knit while they were at dance class or swimming lessons or gymnastics, whatever. ..as well as when they were home. I continued to knit my own sweaters and my how the styles have changed. Then the kids went to college and got married and had their own babies so I knitted for them, but I also got into quilting. I taught knitting for awhile to senior center and then they wanted to quilt so have mainly done that, but have never lost my love of yarn. I am a bit rusty and need the practice to get my rhythm back, but have loved seeing the beautiful yarns as this site.
I love to knit/crochet with fingering weight yarn
Worsted and dk projects are on my needles
Good morning! Your photos are always so well done! I love working with your yarn! My preference at this point seems to be fingering.
I use fingering weight most often. I have been branching out to heavier weights lately though. Nothing heavier than worsted though!
Lace and fingering/sock weight are my go-to yarns, but I also like sport and DK. I’m not fond of working with bulky weight. Your yarn colours are just so beautiful. This bundle is so spring like and I love the way you place them for the pictures. It’s so artistic. Thanks for making such a generous giveaway.
I keep tending towards thinner yarns and love the delicate designs they create, but last month I found a worsted weight yarn at a big box store that I couldn’t resist, and truly enjoyed the silky, substantial feel of the yarn and getting a project completed in about a sixth of the time it usually takes me!
I used to crochet with worsted weight, but right now, I’m knitting mostly with fingering weight.
Hello! I seem to be crocheting with mostly sport and DK weight yarns these days 😊
I use a variety depending on the project. But usually Sport, DK or Worsted.
I usually knit with cobweb, lace, or fingering. I’m new to crochet, so I usually stick with fingering. I’ve tried using lace for crochet a couple times, but it was a big mess! ;p
This yarn is BEAUTIFUL. I crochet most all yarn weights! I like working with the heavier yarns in the colder months (4, 5, and some 6) and switch to a lighter weight when it gets warmer (1, 2, and 3). I’m currently working on some lacy summer tops in some soft, light weight cotton! ❤️
I love sock weight for lacy items!
I like to alternate fine gauge projects with quicker-to-finish dk or worsted weight projects.
I just love your photos! You make the yarn look so appealing (which it is regardless), but the photographic arrangement is beyond beautiful. I am also in awe of what a beautiful model you are for the free patterns you offer. You are one beautiful soul, outside and in.
I prefer fingering for my personal scarves and shawls.
I love the light feel of it in my fingers. But I use worsted weight for most of the blankets and shawls that I donate. I donate to a Manger ministry for infants and mothers.
I tend to use worsted for most of my knitting and crochet, but that is a lot of things that I donate (hats, washcloths, etc). When I’m making things for myself or my family, I’m all over the place. My current projects range from lace to bulky.
Ooooh, these are just my colours! And your way of arranging the skeins make them look like a flowerbed, so gorgeous. I prefer the lighter yarns – laceweight over (light) fingering to sport and sometimes dk. Maybe because I have small hands, smaller needles are easier to handle for me, and I’ll happily knit a sweater on 2.5 mm (US 1½) needles.
Hi , I’m normally a 2weight/ very fine , crocheter and knitter !
I have picked back up crocheting in January, so I have not used many varieties of yarn. I have used your fingering, sport and DK. Love all of them. I recently picked up a non-EPA fingering and made a swatch, do not like how it feels. Your yarn is so soft and luscious.
My favorite yarns to use are DK and fingering/sock. Although I use all weights from lace to bulky (occasionally), I love the feel of the lighter weight yarns on my hands the the comfort of the hook sizes, as well as how airy the end-product comes out.
I love working with fingering weight yarn and making lace shawls
I prefer DK or worsted weight yarns. Sock weight or thinner are just too thin for me. I hope to become more comfortable with them in the future, but right now, DK/Worsted/Chunky are my comfort zone.
My preferred yarn weight is fingering. Not too thin, not too thick. The best for socks, shawls, cowls.
I’ve recently started working with fingering yarn and I love the lightness. But there’s no good quality yarn that I don’t love, from jumbo to lace 🙂
I most often find the patterns I like use sport or fingering weight yarn.. Would like to find more with Dk or worsted that appeal to me as they would get done faster!
So beautiful! Fingering or DK is what I tend to use the most.
Anything from cobweb to aran, though I will use thicker than aran weight once in a while. It very much depends on what I’m making.
Those are some beautiful hanks of yarn!! Oooh, I see PINK! That pink is stunning! Your ability to expertly arrange a breath-taking color palate speaks volume of your artistic flare. I think that my preferred weight is DK. It is light enough to make something elegant, yet heavy enough to be able to be worked with by my rather large hands. LOL.
Hi I’m Karla and I have been a steadfast lover and supporter of EFA for as long as it has been around. I only knit with these weights and I am a self professed completely obsessed fan of al things mini and skeined in yarn. DO any of you blend your own yarns into original color creations, these finer weights are great for that! I love all the yarns Chandi offers but especially anything with a luxury fiber component to it! THank you Chandi and all her teams. You make making things with fiber so special! Knit, crochet, weave and craft ON!
I use many weights of yarn but enjoy using sport or worsted the best.
Thanks for the giveaway! I love your yarn!
I love using Dk yarn the best. I have arthritis in my thumbs and this weight works well in my hands. I also like it for sweaters and hats.
I use the whole range of sizes of yarn. For the past year it’s been mainly lace weight(doilies and snowflakes), fingering(shawls, mini afghans and socks) and DK weight for the odd other projects along with worsted. At the moment I’m working on a shawl using up the last of the pearlescent fingering yarn I bought from you. I’ve been getting lots of ooos and ahhs from friends over it.
I am partial to ALL weights 🙂
I don’t have a go-to weight, I just use what the pattern calls for. I do not like knitting with anything bigger than US 8 because bigger needles cause my hands to cramp.
My favorite is sport weight, followed by fingering, DK, and worsted in that order. Bulky is saved for my knitting for smaller people; I’m too heavy for it.
I prefer fingering weight.
Your chosen yarns for this months giveaway are both beautiful, spring like and very elegant. I think I am close to having tried most of your yarn bases and have loved them all. My go too’s are most likely sport or DK weight. This MKAL for 2023 is amazing in many ways. Truly love how the design just emerges before your eyes as you progress. Look forward to each months clue and new color.
Beautiful colors! I admit I am starting to work more on some worsted weight projects but seem to have mostly fingering weight projects…I have met very few yarns I haven’t liked.
Fingering is my favorite
Hi Chandi. I was originally taught to crochet with lace or string yarn as my grandmother called it and for many years that was all I used. I’ve tried chunky or super chunky and find myself a bit clumsy when working with them. I have found I love lace and fingering the most. I really enjoy how the yarn feels and how easily it flows on the hook. Even though depending on the project I do adapt to what would work best. I also know basic knitting but haven’t dragged up the courage to try one of your beautiful projects yet.
I want to say first what beautiful yarn you have. I’m impressed always. Honestly wish I could afford much much more. And…… Thank you soooooooo very much for the patterns. They are incredible. I would say any of the smaller yarns, lace weight thru dk or fingering would be my favorite. Again, thanks for all you do. Your yarns and patterns inspire my spinning also.
My go to weight is fingering, with DK being a close second. Moongleam is my very favorite because my skin issensitive to wool…..thanks for all the great color choices you offer in Moongleam!!
I love buying all kinds of yarn.. now to make something!
Thank you for a chance to win such a GORGEOUS collection of your scrumptious yarn. I usually use fingering or DK weight yarn, but I loved working with your worsted yarn for last year’s MKAL blanket.
These are lovely spring color; they make me smile to look at them. My favorite weight to work with is usually a nice worsted weight, because I’m still transitioning from smaller projects to larger. I’m looking forward to knitting my first pair of socks and I’ll be using fingering weight for that!
I mainly knit with fingering or dk weights. All of the colors are beautiful!
Mostly fingering or lace weight yarns, although I’ll use any yarn that strikes my fancy. Often I’ll use multiple strands to make a new yarn. I play with my knitting.
I tend to knit with sock or DK, but crochet with thicker yarns.
All my favorite colors !!! I would love to use every inch of this yarn. Delicoius!!
I basically use fingering or DK, but I am currently using 9 colors of Aran to make a winter cardigan scene with mountains. I am very tactile and I love your yarns!
I use fingering yarn most often since I live in warm San Diego. But I love to knit in DK weight yarn; the projects go so much faster! The arrangement of yarn and flowers for this month’s yarn giveaway is so appealing! I love the twist of the mini-skeins!
How lovely an arrangement!
I almost exclusively knitted with worsted weight yarns for decades primarily because it was the bulk of what was available at the local craft stores. In the past few years, I have had less and less time to browse sheloves personally and have increased buying yarns on line, I find the patterns I lean toward now are calling for fingering weight yarns.
I usually use sport or dk, but I also will often use worsted or fingering. Lace and bulky make occasional appearances, but usually only for a very particular pattern or if the yarn is particularly squishy, soft, or beautiful.
I prefer to knit with the finer yarns….Mostly sport weight. But that’s hard to find, so I use a lot of thinner DKs or thicker fingerings. Those are my PREFERENCE, but it depends on what I’m making. I like light and flowy finished items. But I do use a lot of worsted weight, just because it’s the most commonly available for inexpensive projects. And it works better for home decor and crafty stuff vs. wearables. Can’t afford luxury yarns for all items, as much as I wish I could.
I’m more of a beginner knitter and crocheter and have only really gotten into it in the past couple of years. From what I’ve tried I like fingering weight up to medium or worsted, but I do want to do a project involving lace soon.
Hmm. Thinking this one over: which weight of yarn do you usually knit or crochet with?
I am crocheting some afghans at the moment, in afghan weight yarn. However, I’ve also been known to crochet for myself, in heavy laceweight-light fingering. Clothing must have drape. I refuse to wear anything that stands up by itself!
Knitting is an interesting question also. Definitely, heavy laceweight-light fingering is a favorite here too.
I knit some intricate lacework shawls, and I’ve discovered that making a swatch in an aran-bulky weight yarn helps me to understand and see the pattern better when there are new-to-me stitch combos.
Such beautiful yarns! My favorite or what I’ve been using most as of right now are dk weight and fingering. I usually double the fingering to make the weight of dk. I’ve been making a lot of baby items as I just had a baby 👶🏻
I like fingering weight yarns
I prefer knitting with fingering weight yarns.
I love yarn. I like sock weight and DK best, but worsted and Aran don’t hurt my feelings! Your yarn is marvelous! Good vibes to you and your hubs and your people.
What a feast for the eyes! Amazing as always, Chandi. I usually knit with fingering weight yarns – mostly socks, but other things as well.
I love working with worsted and 3 weight but in your yarns I would be so happy with ANY of them!
Hello, I usually knit with whatever yarn I have. I am an adventurous beginner lol
Weight??? Whatever the pattern calls for, or a close approximation in my homespun.
Anything is fine with me as long as it’s comfortable to work with. I mostly use fingering or DK weight though because these work best for my projects.
I knit with all weights from fingering up to super bulky depending on the project (but not any super-huge weights); my favorite weight is DK
I use one of three weights depending on what I’m making and who it’s for. I use Fingering, Dk,and worsted.
Hi Chandi and Team,
My favorite yarn is fingering but I am expanding to sport and DK. I just love lace knitting so my go- to is fingering.
Thank you for all your beautiful yarns, and your generosity.
I prefer dk and worsted yarns when I crochet
Hi from new zealand.i haven’t tried your wools yet but love all the colours.i usually knit with 4ply for socks.and 8ply for baby knitting.havent got a preference.
I am strictly a crocheter, usually with DK or worsted, but lately I’ve begun experimenting with lighter weight yarns as well. I definitely fall into the category you so elegantly describe as an “adventurous beginner.” Started crocheting around 35 years ago and then stopped when work and life got too busy. We were cleaning out our house to move after I retired about 3 years ago and I found an unfinished project in a closet and decided to pick it up again. Now I go to three stitching groups a week!
Your yarn is just stunning; I will have to find a very special project for it.
I usually use a size 3 or 4 yarn.
Lately I have been using 3 or fingering weight yarn.
Beautiful colors! I crochet and use a variety of weight yarn. I have really been trying to use more sock/fingering. I just love how delicate projects are in that weight.
I love everything I’ve gotten from you – I prefer worsted but I have used all weights – I’ve been knitting since I was 8, so almost 50 years!
Some of my favorite yarns to work with is DK and under, it tends to have such a lovely drape with both knitting and crochet. However, I’ll use whatever yarn I can get my hands on! Lol 😂
These colors are gorgeous!! I am addicted to fingering weight yarn these days. I also love working with DK. I have a little business and make a lot of shawls and ponchos. For the shawls it’s definitely the fingering weight and DK. I just purchased some of your Lens Flare yarn to make one of your shawl patterns with and cannot wait to work with it!
My favorite is fingering or sport. I love having a lot of yarn to play with!
For the longest time I only knit with worsted weight yarn. Then I got into the bulkier ones. Now I am heading the other way and currently using a fair amount of DK and fingering weights. I am trying to learn to use them all and appreciate what each weight brings.
Your yarns are absolutely gorgeous and it would be an honour to knit with any of them. Thank you for the chance at your giveaway. So generous.
I like dk or worsted for crochet, but I really enjoy lace weight for knitting. The projects work up so soft and airy!
I used to be a worsted weight girl, but have been knitting with a lot of fingering lately.
Fingering or DK are my favorites. I love the feel of garments made with lighter weights! For the longest time I didn’t know anything existed besides worsted!
I usually use worsted, but lately been working with dk and a lace or fingering, or several dks, held together! In the fall and winter, I love using bulky yarns!
I usually knit with fingering weight yarn (I mostly make socks when I knit) and I usually crochet with worksted weight yarn (for making toys and decorations).
Fingering, typically, since I can wear that year-round…
I like to knit with fingering weight and crochet with DK. Have a wonderful day. 😉
I usually use fingerings yarn.
I like fingering weight the best
Oh Chandi! I use any and all of your yarn bases. Often combining for a different look or to bump up the weight to make Guage.
It is like knitting or crocheting with sunshine! I wish I had another set of hands or did not require sleep so I could get more done.
Just finished the Josephine Shawl on Ravelry and still working on the Advertance MKAL plus several other projects. All EFA!
Would go into orbit if I ever won your giveaway!
I use mostly sizes 3 or 4, but am eager to explore! (Rhyme accidental but hey…)!
I prefer to knit and crochet with lace and fingering weight yarn.
I was always a DK gal, but lately I’ve been enjoying sock and sport weights. As my experience grows, I’m feeling more confident in my ability to knit lacy or intricate patterns.
I crochet with anything from Fingering weight and above. It just depends n the project.
I usually knit/ crochet with DK or worsted, but I’m learning to stitch with sport and fingering. This month’s colors are so gorgeous- purple and green!
I’ll work with anything, but I’ll bet I have more fingering than anything in my stash. These yarns in the giveaway are GORGEOUS, as always. Thank you for your generosity and light.
I usually find myself working with dk/worsted weight yarn but always keep a small stash of fingering weight just in case I find the perfect project
Happy belated Beltain everyone!! My name is Salamander & I am an avid crocheter (haven’t succeeded in knitting yet!)! I love crocheting stuffed items, Amigurumi, hats, bags, hooded scarves, baby items & just started doing blankets & shawls & even backpacks!
My preference for yarn weight is actually worsted #4 or chonkier. . .When I end up with anything lighter, I usually end up using it for Amigurumi or to create embellishments! Lately my hands haven’t been great, so even some of my Amigurumi is done with a 4 yarn, just gives you more critter to love & squeeze!
I’m super excited about these giveaways! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE working with hand dyed & especially natural fibers! The cost for the yards keeps me from replacing everything with natural fibers 😹
Mostly lace & fingering. 🙂
I like to use dk weight or thinner, but I do use thicker weights to make afghans and other projects when called for.
I crochet with DK or worsted as my preference. I have just taken my first class learning to knit and I am using worsted to better see the stitches. 😊
I love the way the yarn is showcased in this photo!
I used to hate working with fingering weight when I first started knitting. I was slow and not seeing much progress was discouraging. Fingering is now one of my favorite weights to work with. I also enjoy working with sport, dk, worsted and chunky. I don’t often work with supper chunky yarn since I tend to find it tiring to work with, but I do love how quick it works up. So basically.. I just love all yarn 🧶 ❤️ 🧶🥰🧶
These yarn colors are just gorgeous as usual! Lately I have been enjoying crocheting with the fingering, sock and sport weight yarns more so than the heavier weights.
Have been using a lot of fingering recently, try not to go smaller. Also like DK and worsted. Currently using your Dewy DK for a project and love it. Really enjoy seeing all your yarns. Love the colors!
I usually knit things that call for fingering or worsted, depending on the project, but fingering’s my favorite yarn.
My favorite yarn is fingeri g, but I have bought some sport and DK from you that I am anxious to try.
Thank you for your generosity in this monthly giveaway! Your yarns are gorgeous.
I like fingering and sport weight for most of my projects and will generally do the math to change the yarn size for a pattern I like. Love your yarn colors!
You seem to make the give-a-ways better every month!
Mostly I use fingering weight (sock yarn) because mostly I make socks. But I also make shawls and often use laceweight for those. My favorite lace weight is your yak down/silk blend. It makes warm shawls that feel like I’m wearing a cloud. ❤️
Dk seems to be my default. I love working top down in the round sweaters cuz they’re so easy to do
I traditionally use worsted weight yarn for my projects.
What a beautifully curated give away! It just speaks of May flowers after April showers. I have a May birthday & am thinking what a wonderful gift this would make! I have mostly knit using your fingering weight yarn, but recently ordered some DK from EFA. I’m looking forward to gradually exploring some of the other lovely options Chandi has shared. 🌸 🧶 💕
As always, what a beautiful giveaway! I haven’t been crocheting or loom knitting very long, but so far, I’ve mostly used worsted weight. However, I’m presently using a fingering weight to make a shawl so I’m up for whatever weight of yarn depending on the project. It has been interesting learning how differently a lighter yarn “behaves” compared to a heavier weight.
I usually use worsted, but am starting to use for fingering weight.
Holy May Day that’s a HUGE giveaway! My favorite weight yarn for garments (which is what I mainly make) is DK or Sport. Thanks Chandi for another awesome giveaway
I mostly use fingering weight! It makes up most of my stash and I love the feel of it in my hands. Heavier weight yarn tends to make my hands ache 😢
Sport and fingering. I just love how delicate they are!
Fingering weight is usually my go-to, my hubby loves me to make him handmade socks 🙂
I’ve been purchasing a lot of gorgeous fingering yarns from you lately for various shawl projects I want to make, but have been mostly using worsted and dk lately, making some beautiful baby blankets from my grandbabies!
No favorite weight. Whatever the pattern calls for. Most important factors for me are the pattern and the composition/quality of the yarn (what’s it made of and how). The perfect project is the right combination of these 2 factors 😊 Perfect storm!
I tend to go for sport or DK yarns, but it really does depend on the project / season
It is a toss up between fingering weight and dk weight yarn that I use the most
I prefer DK weight for garments, and fingering weight for shawls. Those are the types of things I make most often, though this year I have been making a temperature blanket (color keyed to the day’s maximum temperature) using worsted weight yarn.
I usually knit with DK weight, but also enjoy fingering weight
I mostly knit/crochet with fingering or sport weight yarn. These colors are magnificent!
Hello Miss Chandi, I hope you’re well!
My favorite weight of yarn to work with is fingering or sock yarn, I love how lightweight they are and the small details that pop out more with different stitches because they’re able to shine more on yarns like that I feel!
I knit with fingering most of the time. I also knit with worsted for making hats for kids in a locl school.
I usually crochet with worsted weight, but I like lighter weights, too. I am currently working on a project in size 10 thread. Until I began that I have not used any yarn smaller than 2 weight. I do not care for anything heavier than a 5 weight.
I often use DK weight, but recently, I’m beginning to enjoy sport weight yarn. 🌺
I think right now my preferred is sport weight 🥰 or something a bit thinner. Thank You for the possibility to enter the giveaway ❤️
I use whatever is called for in the pattern, but mostly prefer worsted or bulky. I love to use soft, luxurious yarn!
I usually use fingering or DK weight yarn for my projects, but also do some cold weather knitting in bulky or super bulky. I love your colorways – am saving up to buy more down the road. You have such fabulous bases! Especially love the Dewy and Oasis bases – luscious! Thank you for letting your subscribers have an opportunity for a free pattern each week – your kindness and generosity are amazing!
I am really in love with crocheting on DK weight yarn! Thick enough to still have weight and work up quickly but delicate enough for really beautiful definition. 🤍
I usually crochet/knit with worsted weight yarn. However, I’ve been using dk recently love it.
When I started knitting (I’ve crocheted off and on most of my life), I thought my tremor would mean I’d be working mostly with thicker yarns. Nope! I’m a sucker for a (non fuzzy!) laceweight. I do a lot withfingering, too.
I occasionally use worsted weight, but I mostly use DK, Sport, and Fingering.
I mainly crochet and knit with worsted weight because much of my stash is Red Heart Super Saver or Caron Simply Soft because they’re affordable and good for much of what I make (blankets, stuffies, and decor.)
I mostly use fingering as I love the neat, delicate look of it. When i do charity blankets though i use chunky for the cosy warmth
I usually use worsted weight. I’ve done fingering weight lately, but worsted is my favorite
I mostly knit; but I’ve been known to crochet, too. I like using DK, but have worked with all other weights. I just finished a Surprise Jacket from Elizabeth Zimmermann using some of my worsted leftovers.
Hi Chandi ! I mainly like Fingering because I can ADD to it !!! A sparkle , or Sparkle and Mohair….. or Ribbon….. possibilities are endless it seems these days , and SOOOOO much fin to play with. Thank you for the opportunity yet again. All the best, marcia
My go to weight is still worsted, but I have started branching out to fingering and sport.
I love alllllll the yarn weights! I always have socks on my needles, I like thicker yarn projects for making things quickly, and the midweights make such luscious warm goodies! I think my favorites, if I HAD to choose, would be the lightweight yarns – sock/fingering/lace – because of the delicate fabrics they create. <3
I love ALL of your yarns!
My favorite weights for crochet! Such luscious colors. I would have to share with friends for sure!
I like the DK yarns…and the Sports yarns
Worsted is my go-to with DK as a close second since I mostly make amigurumi, but I would love to branch out and learn to make garments with finer weight yarns.
I love worsted weight for blankets
I love fingering weight wool yarns. Those are my favorites!
I love all sizes of yarns, thankyou for the opportunity to win an amazing giveaway! Your yarns are beautiful, and lovely to work with.
Most of my stash is fingering weight, but I enjoy working with all weights of yarn
Mostly use DK, but starting to lean towards sport and fingering yarns lately.
Hi Chandi, I do love do and fingering weight for shawls, but I love a dreamy laceweight mohair/silk combo….sigh xxx
Hello all! I crochet and will use any weight yarn. My favorite weight is DK or sport but if I like a pattern I will use any weight. I have multiple projects on my hooks and I absolutely love EFA yarns!
Hi! I’m a beginner crocheter and prefer 4 or 5 at the moment. I have a lot of lace weight and dk stashed, though!
I love all your yarns. Just change them out, depending on what I am knitting. Using the yarn for the year long knit and I just love the feel and working with it. I am going to send this to my Grand Daughter who is just learning to knit. Winning this bundle could keep her going for awhile. Want her to love the feel of a great yarn.
My choice of yarn is fingering weight!
I usually crochet or knit with fingering, sport, or worsted weight, depending on the project!
My God !
What a awesome giveaway 🥹
I hope to win it 🤩😊🤞
I’m currently obsessed with your sweater patterns and knitting one after another
I usually crochet with 4 weight yarn or extra bulky because they are easy on my hands and work up quickly. BUT I really want to start working with 1 or 2 weight yarn to try and make some more delicate wearables 🙂
I prefer worsted weight, especially if I don’t have a specific project in mind. I crochet, and most of the patterns I use call for worsted.
My favorite weight of yarn right now is sock/fingering. Thanks for the chance to win the giveaway!
WOW! So beautiful. I’m a fingering and DK kinda gal. I just love the drape of the fabric it makes.
My favorite yarns to knit with are worsted, and bulky, but I seem to end up using a whole lotta fingering and sport for some reason!!! 😂
I usually knit with fingering weight as I am in a warm southern Florida
I am using worsted weight yarn right now. I can’t wait to try using fingering weight too. Your descriptions of the yarns you sell sound like a Chef describing his meals. I can almost picture myself nibbling on a strand or two, LOL. I am a beginner knitter and a progressive crocheter. I am still working on both skills, just like you!J
They are all so beautiful as usual! One of these days I might win🤞🥰❤️🙏
I had been using worsted only for years. Then I ventured out into other yarn weights. I even knit a pair of socks. My current project is in DK. I would have to say I use all yarn weights at this point.
I love working with lovely soft yarns. I’ve been doing a lot of charity knitting of hats and scarves so use an acrylic that is easily washed.
As a 5 year crocheter & knitter, I’ve worked with all yarns. I love learning more about new to me techniques & most of my work is donated. Thank you Miss Chandi
Fingering or sports weight.
Hi Chandi, Tim and team! I usual like to knit and crochet with dk. Thank you for such a gorgeous giveaway and it looks like Tim is still enjoying the presentation! Gorgeous!!!
I used to be terrified of skinny yarns and never used anything below an aran weight, but once I tried fingering weight I never looked back! Now Aran and bigger yarns feel funky in my hands!
I have been crocheting with worsted weight due to a requested project but my stash is a mix of everything. Guess it just depends on the mood and the pattern.
I used to knit largely with DK, but lately I’ve started using bulky (just finished a hat using an EFA oopsie skein – if there were oopsies, they were beautiful oopsies) and fingering.
I usually use worsted weight yarn. I find it quite easy to work with!!
I use worsted weight yarn if I’m making items for friends and family. I use fingerling weight if I’m making something for myself. My favorite fingerling weight yarn is your Oasis Fingerling. It’s soft and has a nice range of colorways.
I both knit and crochet, but I prefer crochet … but some patterns are so interesting it doesn’t matter which it is, I just want to make it.
I like using DK, worsted weight, and bulky best; depending on what I’m making.
So hard to choose, I love it all!
Thank you.
My favorite weight is Fingering. I love this collection of yarn. Next week is my first birthday without my mom. I would love to receive this… as a present from mom and dad.
I like to knit with worsted. It’s quick and also not so heavy!
My default yarn weight seems to be DK and worsted weight yarn right now.
I’m fairly new so I love them all.
I like working with fingering weight yarn. But any yarn will do. I have to crochet every, single day!
I use mainly DK #3. Next would be worsted. Sometimes fingering. Would like to use it more often. Maybe once a year a bulky weight.
Absolutely love these displays … that is quite a collection! Thank you for gathering them together!
Mostly crochet with worsted, but will do anything that isn’t lace (yet, I’m intimidated by how tiny it is)
I prefer sport or DK but use worsted or bulky for sweaters because I don’t like projects that go on too long. I both knit and crochet. I also would be tempted to embroider with this month’s giveaway yarns.
I tend to favor fingering, DK, and worsted weight yarns, but am absolutely loving mirage sport.
My favorite weight of yarn is whatever I can get inexpensively or free (winning a giveaway?), but most of what falls into my path is worsted. Of all the projects on my needles/hooks, I think I’m enjoying the finer lace weight the most. It works up so much softer than crochet cotton. Machine
-knitting yarn was fun and turned out beautifully. Would love to try some luxury fibers.
Normally, I use a #3 or #4 weight yarn. If there is a particular pattern which catches my eye, I will knit/crochet with any weight. 🙂
I like using bulky weight yarns because they crochet up very quickly and make items super thick, soft, and warm.
Hi Chandi;
For me … the weight of the yarn is not that important. I enjoy the texture, the softness or the slubs within the yarns. For a time, I raised Lincoln-Romney Cross. The Lincoln offered the tight crimp and the Romney had the long staple, so I had the best of both worlds, so to speak. I processed my own yarn and took up spinning on an Ashford traditional. My least favorite yarn to work with is worsted. I grew up learning to knit on worsted. My 1st grade teacher taught me to knit. Knitting was a bribe to help me keep my thumb out of my mouth during story time … lol … For now, I enjoy all weights. I have not tried Lace weight yet. I feel that it should be tatted, and that’s one art that I have not tried. Your yarns are exquisite, luscious, and just “feel” good to touch. The industry has perfected itself in creating these special yarns, more superior than Red Heart … 🙂 Thank you for a beautiful product …
I’m a crocheter, and love all the yarn, but find myself using DK and sport the most.
Fingering is my current favorite.
I like to knit or crochet with a all of your yarn! Mostly I use fingering weight yarn, sock yarn, sport weight or DK. I`m using Lace or yarn at the heavy end of the range only, when the pattern calls for (but my stash is very low for this kind of yarn). The colors of the yarn in this giveaway are absolutely adorable. Thanks you so much, that you want to share this special yarn giveaway with us.
I prefer 2-4 wt yarn. Over 5 is too heavy, and I’m afraid I won’t be able to hold on to lace weight. Mostly, I do love beautiful yarn.
I prefer the finer ply – 2, 3, 4, 5 (lace, fingering, sport). Sometimes will use 8ply (or double knit), but nothing thicker than that.
Fingering and DK are my go-to weights, I love the versatility (and it always seems like there are more options in those weights, too!)
My favorite yarn weight is fingering or sport. That seems to be the prevalent weight used in the patterns on your site for which I am usually buying yarn.
In general, I knit blankets in worsted. Currently I am working to finish a super bulky blanket. I have worked on everything from sock weight to blanket weight yarns, but I prefer the mid-range mostly. The yarn weight is dependent on the project. The last two shawls I did were one knit in heavy weight very warm wool for winter and another in a very light weight for a crocheted spring shawl. A great deal of my knitting is for charity: hats for seafarers in Paton’s basic wools or Knitpick’s wool of the Andes. Much of our wool is donated by local knitters.
I predominantly use worsted weight but since I discovered EFA yarns I have begun experimenting with the lighter weights and have found that I like them alot. I’ve made my first pair of socks using fingering weight and I’ve made a tank top as well. My first forays into making clothing. Whole new worlds of creating have opened up to me since I found EFA yarns and Chandi’s You-Tube channel, she is so encouraging and sweet.
I enjoy working with all weights! I love lots of color, and find knitting very therapeutic 🙂
I usually use worsted weight yarn
I use fingering weight the most.
I really like to use fingering most of the time. But what draws me in the most is beautiful gradients, colors and texture.
I really like to use fingering most of the time. But what really draws me in is the gradient, colour and texture of yarn.
I usually knit and crochet with worsted weight because I love making blankets I’m making this years MCAL and I’m making last years MKAL.
I nearly always crochet with worsted weight yarn. I have worked with a couple of other weights before, and those projects were fun but I prefer the ease and speed of working with worsted weight.
Hi Chandi,
When I crochet I usually use worsted and for knitting I use mostly use fingering weight yarn.
Any weight of yarn for knitting, dk and thicker for crochet (usually). Working with arthritis in my hands makes it difficult for crocheting with smaller threads and yarns. I go back and forth between crocheting and knitting, spending about equal time with both (even on the same day! *wink wink*).
I tend to gravitate towards aran/worsted to bulky weight yarns, though I want to try finer weights to make garments! Equally important, to me, is the composition of the yarn. For most projects I prefer yarn that is mostly made up of natural fibers (cotton, wools/animal fibers, linen etc).
I knit with fingering weight yarn 95% of the time. It’s pretty much all I buy unless I have a specific pattern in mind that uses a different weight.
I’m venturing into DK and sport weight this summer.
I mainly knit with Fingering, DK, or Worsted.
I love all types of yarn, depending on what project I’m working on. I like the thicker yarn for working up a quick project like a hat or scarf.
Good Morning/Afternoon. I usually knit with fingering, sport and dk yarn and crochet with worsted. I’m currently working on the Lumin Shawl from your website and that has been fun and an adventure for me.
Mostly fingering weight followed by sport weight and sometimes lace.
I love worsted!
I usually use fingering weight these days, as I’ve been making socks.
I am fairly flexible with yarn weight but having just worked on a lace shawl may cast on a chunky cowl next.
I am in love with the sport weight, especially the luster sport.
I love to knit lighter weight sweaters so mostly use fingering or sock weight yarns. As always, love your yarns and color ways!
Wow! This is amazingly gorgeous yarn in this giveaway! I usually crochet with DK weight or larger but would love to try some projects with a finer yarn for sure. Thank you for your giveaways and your make-alongs!
I usually crochet with fingering or sport weight since most of the project I fall in love with call for it.
I love using finger weight and DK yarn for most of my projects. I love using mostly natural fibers because they just look better and last longer. I always feel that, if I’m going to use the time to create something beautiful to wear or give, I want to make it out of a beautiful yarn. I love your products, YouTube videos, and website. I learn so much from you.
I love the thinner weight, fingering and lace. I’ll use some DK. mostly I’ll rework a pattern to use fingering.
I normally knit with fingering yarn. I do love all yarn. I am trying to teach myself to spin this year, it is something I have wanted to learn for ages. Now is the time!
I mean, it always depends on the project doesn’t it? But my favorite weight to work with is definitely sport
I am an avid crocheter and I use any weight up to a #3. Very rarely do I use worsted or bulky weights.
Tend to use DK the most, but have tried other weights and love seeing the results
My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was a teenager, and I taught myself to knit (with help from fabulous YouTube videos such as EFA) last November. I’m absolutely addicted to knitting now! I have made a few sweaters, and I’m currently working on Advertence MKAL 2023 in DK weight and the Enchanted cardigan in Sparkle DK. I also knit breast prosthetics for Knitted Knockers. They are so fast and gratifying to make.

I usually use fingering weight yarn. But, also use dk weight from time to time.
I much prefer to knit with fingering or lace weight yarn. Thicker ones hurt my hands — dunno why, but they do!
I’ve been working mostly with DK and worsted weight, but I’m open to everything! I love mixing up textures, colors, and adding some sparkle too. 🙂
I mostly use fingering weight for knitting and crocheting.
I have been using a lot of fingering weight but I also love sport, DK, and worsted.
I mostly use fingering for knitting and thread for crocheting.
I don’t have a favorite weight yarn – it all depends on what project catches my eye when I’m ready for something new to cast on to my needles.
Mostly knit with fingering. Seems like I’m always knitting shawls that take fingering.
Fingering mostly, also lace
My favourites are double knit and fingering
I used to primarily use fingering weight, but as life gets busier I’ve found that I now reach for DK and worsted weight most of the time.
I have no favs bc i knit whatever pattern catches my eye. Usually the range is from lace to aran, bulkier stuff doesn’t attract me as much, but it can happen 😉
Every time I receive an email from you showing the various colors I go “ooooooo aaaaaaa, yarn heaven!!”. Just beau beautiful.
My favourite yarn is a 3 weight/DK.
I use a lot of fingering weight yarn but when I need a break or “pallet cleanser” anything goes!
I knit with different weight yarns depending on my project.
Fingering and DK–is there anything else???
Hi from The Netherlands! I always love the pictures of the yarn, they are so pretty 🤩
I like to knit with all yarn weights, except the very bulky. Happy spring wishes 🌞🌷
So far I’ve been using mostly Sport/DK-ish weight yarn and a little Fingering-ish (for socks). Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL May.
I have been enjoying using 3/sport or DK yarn. Made several shawls using fingering. I enjoy all yarn – except bulky ones. They hurt my hands!
I like Fingering, Lace and DK weight yarns, I love the look of garments with the finer weight yarns.
I have just discovered to my surprise that I have knitted mostly with DK, but I love fingering!
I was mostly your ‘normal’ worsted weight crochet-er until I discovered Expression Fiber Arts! Now, I am in love with fingering yarn! EFA’s skeins are so squishy and buttery soft! What a great giveaway for the month of May! Thanks Chandi and the EFA Team!
It’s fingering weight for me. I mostly knit socks.
Fingering weight socks and DK for sweaters usually consisting of combining two fingering weight strands.
I’ve usually gone with fingering/sport/DK weights so far – but I love it all, really!
Living in hot climate I prefer finer yarns. Sports is great but mostly at the moment I am using fingering. Going into winter here so a good time for knitting.
I love my fingering and dk. I mostly knit shawls and socks but grandchild #8 will be here soon so I ventured into sport . I’d love to try your yarn it looks delicious
Historically, I’ve mostly worked with worsted weight yarn. Recently, I’ve been branching out to fingering weight yarns and crochet thread. It’s been a little challenging moving to finer weight yarns, but I’m really enjoying them, especially as we move into summer!
I usually knit with fingering or sport and Dk weight.
So beautiful!
These yarns inspire project ideas!
My favorite turns are the very fine ones – cobweb is awesome!
I typically use knit or crochet with fingering, DK, or worsted.
I usually knit and crochet with dk weight yarn, but so far this year I’ve mainly been using velvet yarn, which is a first for me.
Congrats to April’s winner!
My go-to and favorite yarn weight is a 3 weight.
I will work with any weight from fingering to super bulky but lately I’ve been using a lot of fingering! As long as it’s pretty yarn, I’m happy!
I prefer to use lighter weight yarns for my crocheting. I usually get lace of fingering yarns, occasionally a sock yarn.
I seem to always gravitate to the finer yarns. Like lace up to sport. I’m currently knitting a sweater for a friend with her yarn and it’s aran weight.
I knit, and I am a huge fan of lighter weight yarns. I mostly use fingering weight, and lace. I tried using bulkier yarns and found it to be difficult, so I like to stick to lighter weight yarns.
Hi, my name is Noelia and I have been crocheting for 13 years now. I love to make clothes and I am about to finally open up a website and channel myself. I’ve been heavily inspired by your creations and am so grateful for all the opportunities you provide. I crochet with size 4 yarn. But am interested in learning to knit.
It depends on the project I’m currently working on, for shawls I usually use fingering or dk weight. When I make a blanket I usually use worsted weight. I love how you’ve been arranging the yarn in the pictures for your giveaway very beautiful. Keep up the good work!
I think it is seasonal, when I am knitting/crocketing summer wear it is usually fingering weight. As fall comes, I will switch to DK or worsted weight.
I usually crochet my mosaic blankets in a dk weight
Fingering weight is my go-to yarn, but I knit in other weights too.
Lace!
I love all yarn weights but lately I am loving dk weight although worsted is my go to.
Hi Chandi!
I’m a flicker, and I’m usually drawn away from the heavier yarn weights, as they slow me down, and the super thin weights, as they just take too long. I find that DK is the best suit for me, because it wears almost exactly the same as fingering, and it does knit up pretty quickly, at 64 yph! (yards per hour)
What a generous giveaway! When I crochet, I typically use sport weight and/or dk weight yarn for “baby” items, size 10 crochet thread for doilies and “lacy” stuff and worsted weight for pretty much everything else. (Although this is mostly due to the fact that I can’t afford anything else.) When I’m knitting, it’s typically worsted weight. However, I’m attempting to knit my first pair of socks. My sister gave me a cone of some sort of what appears to be fingering weight or sock yarn, so I’m trying to use that. But, since I have no idea what it’s made of, I don’t know if it will hold up or not. But, it will work for a first try regardless.
I crochet with 4 medium yarn. Knit with I think it is called sock yarn. I knit with 2 of those together. My hands hurt to knit with anything too thin.
I love these colours! Thank you for the opportunity to enter your giveaway Chandi. My ADHD brain loves to switch yarn weights up all the time xx
My stash has a lot of fingering weight, so that must be my favorite!! Actually, I do gravitate to fingering weight because I enjoy making socks and shawls. I use a lot of worsted weight, as well, for sweaters and blankets. I don’t use much dk, but have done a few projects with it. I don’t think I’ve made any major projects with sport weight until this year’s MKAL. I very rarely use a bulky weight yarn.
I usually knit with aran or chunky but I’m game to try anything!!!
I don’t have a go-to per se; whatever project I feel like making will be the deciding factor on yarn weight. From tees to shawls to socks to afghans, any weight that is called for I’ll do. I’ll even have a few projects going that are of different weights but of varying degrees of difficulty, just so I can switch about when needed.
I love a good sport or lace weight yarn but I’m not picky!
I’ll use any weight of yarn.
Lace and fingering yarn are my favorite
I like to knit with fingering weight yarn.
Fingering weight is usually on my needles. Though I’m putting together a couple DK weight projects from my stash. ❤️🧶❤️
My favorite weight to knit with is fingering because I can get more yardage in a small package which makes it more portable. I also live in Texas and run on the hot side so I really don’t need anything heavier than fingering.
Lately I’ve been using fingering weight yarn. I’ve gotten hooked on knitting socks, so fingering is my favorite right now.
I love DK yarn; although I’ve used fingering, sport and aran. Most of what I’ve made is DK. Looking forward to trying some of your yarn. It just looks so beautiful.
Hi, Chandi! Over the last year or so I’ve mostly been using fingering yarn as I have been knitting lace shawls and stoles. Thank you for all you do!
Hi Chandi, i usually work with fingering weight or dk but I honestly love any yarn, because you can create so many beautiful things with it!
A beautiful selection of yarn as always, Chandi.
I usually go for four ply yarn for my projects.
Good luck, everyone 😁
I prefer to use DK or heavier; I find I’m able to knit longer without pain. I also combine yarns to create new yarns — it can soften the effect of a wild sock yarn that I can’t find a project for and make the colors behave.
I use mostly medium yarn. Thanks for another great giveaway!
I have tended to use fingering weight the most, but since I recently learned to knit, I’m also trying DK and lace weight more. So fun to see how they work up, and always a pleasure to work with EFA yarns…
I mainly use fingering & Dk!🧶
I usually crochet with fingering to dk weight yarns year-round. But I seem to gravitate towards sport weight yarn the most.
I’m a dk and fingering weight yarn lover. I 💗 all your yarns. I’m currently working on A pullover from one of your patterns. Your Free Pattern Fridays are always a look forward to day. Keep up the Grrreat work!
Cis
Fingering and DK weights usually.
I like lighter weights, usually fingering, sport or DK. I think your yarns and patterns are beautiful. As someone on a limited budget, I do a lot of dreaming when I read your emails. I love the free pattern Friday! Thank you so much
laceweight (or fingering) is my favorite!
I only have used Red Heart 4 ply. It would be great to try some new yarn.
I have tried many weights, but right now I prefer Sport and DK weights. I absolutely love all the beautiful colors you have for us to choose from!
Lately it seems like the projects I am working on call for dk. But I like most weights, I don’t usually use bulky (it bothers my carpel tunnel using the large needles/hooks.
I have a lot of worsted weight in my stash, so trying to use that up.
I love fingering and sport weights yarn.
I’m trying to branch out from worsted weight yarn. I just did a MAL with super fine weight yarn, which was fun!
I have been on a sport weight kick for the last couple months. I plan to make Tubucake over the summer, so I’m looking forward to trying out fingering weight!
What yarn I use depends on what project I’m working on. For amigurumi I use mostly worsted weight, but I’ve started using more fingering or DK for wearables like spring shawls and throws.
I have used all weights. Lace weight is a little fiddly for me. I seem to gravitate to fingering and sport weight lately.
Can we talk about the creative layout/display of the yarn for the photos for this months give away!?! I just can’t stop looking at it. The yarn is beautiful as always. Thank you for the chance to enter/win
I prefer crocheting mostly with DK but anything from fingering to Worsted is my comfor zone. Mostly knit with fingering.
I don’t have a preferred yarn weight. It’s depend project.
Hi Chandi,
I prefer to knit DK, Fingering and lace weight yarns. Love your patterns and yarn! What a beautiful selection of yarn in this months draw. Thank you! May is my birthday month, so maybe, just maybe I will be the lucky winner🧶🥳🎂
Fingering and DK weight are my absolute go to. I love the fabric they create.
When I first began my knitting adventure, all I wanted to work with was DK or Sport weight yarns. As I have progressed along this journey, I find myself developing an appreciation for all yarn weights.
I will usually crochet with any weight of yarn, from 1 up to 7, but for knitting I have usually stayed in the 1’s to 3 weights. I have done some projects in 4 weight and found that quite nice, but not ventured into bulky yet, and I accidentally got some yarn mislabled fingering that was really lace and when I knit with it I was using needles that were too big and didn’t like how loose it was coming out. Scrapped it, but luckily it was not expensive and I still have plenty of it to remake the item with the correct needles. Try, try again!!
I usually crochet with yarns on the lighter side of medium weight or heavier side of light weight, since I find them comfortable to use for the shawls and blankets I make most frequently, and I use the ones that cooperate with my preferred hook sizes. Very recently, though, I’ve been experimenting with fine and superfine weights and a much smaller hook size than I’m used to and have really been enjoying the challenge of it!
I usually knit with dk or worsted, but I enjoy lace projects, too!
Bulk weight for fiber arts is my go-to!
Hi Chandi ! I love these beautiful colors , looking at them it fills my heart with joy ! I like crochet and knit with Dk yarns. Thank you for all the pattern and fun tutorials you share with everybody! 🤗❤
Beautiful yarn, as always.
I have just started using fingering, but have used worsted and aran for years for crochet, but my knitting is getting good enough to enjoy fingering.
I really like sport weight – also heavier weights, including some bulky.
Anything from Expretion fiber arts 🙂 seriously my favorite. Currently using a gorgeous dark green blues to make my 21 year old son a knitted ninja scarf. He is so excited but it is lace weight so he will be waiting a while.
I knit with all sizes, but lately my projects have been with sport or lace.
Love, love, love working with Fingering/Sock and DK yarns lately. They are so versatile..
Hi,
The yarns that are my go to’s are DK and finer. I love the colors in this give away!!!
Be Well
Debbie
My favorite weight of yarn is sock/fingering
I knit with a variety of weights. It depends on the project and my mood. 😊
I usually used worsted weight yarn but the past couple of years I’ve switched it up. I’ve made some lovely blankets in a dk cotton and some shawls and a pair of socks in a fingering weight yarn.
Fingering weight has become my favorite in making shawls and scarves. I love how delicate everything looks.
def partial to fingering!
mmm worsted lol
Hi Chandi … thank you for this opportunity. I am a self taught crocheter & I mainly use dk weight yarn for blankets. I have been teaching myself to knit for two weeks from your beginner videos & I am beginning to feel confident to start a project. Yay!!
So far, DK is my favorite, but have purchased some fingering to try. We’ll see…
I used to almost always work with worsted, but lately I am a HUGE fan of fingering and dk/sport weight. ♡♡
I mostly use fingering/sock weight yarn.
Mainly 4ply/fingering/sock purely from a cost factor for making adult garments.
Slowly dipping into 8ply/10 ply on the occasion I can get a really good trade through ravelry and/or doubling up the 4ply to get the 8ply..which I find I’m starting to do.
Thank you for another magical giveaway.
FYI for the EFA team… the link on this page works for me… it’s the link that says ‘sign me up’ which no longer works. I forgot to clarify that in my email to you.
Have a great day everyone!
I’ve just tested the giveaway links, including the “Sign Me Up” link, and all are working correctly. The Sign Me Up link opens a pop-up window, so if it’s still not working for you, you may want to check that you have pop-ups enabled on your browser. Have a great day!
So far I have only tried the Enduring Worsted. Love Expression Fiber Arts!!
I like all weights of yarn. Your colors are so beautiful, you do such a wonderful job. It would be nice to win, then I can give it to my Mom because she loves your yarn.
Worsted 🥰
But I’ll use anything to be honest!
You know…when I first started knitting, it was worsted. Everything worsted and I thought I’d LOVE bulky too. I thought fingering was too small and difficult to use. Then I got a pattern that used fingering. Now it’s the bulk of my stash! Don’t get me wrong, I still love worsted and it’s not like I hate the other weights either. I’ve just had a run on a lot of beautiful fingering weight projects.
I love working with wool blends. Usually my fingers get a bit cold when working on a project, so working with wool actually keeps my fingers warm at the same time 🙂
I usually use worsted weight, but recently began with fingering weight when I picked up some apparel patterns. I found the fingering weight runs smoother for apparel items.
In agreement with so many others, thank you for sharing these lovely patterns!!
I like sport or worsted weight yarns 😊
It depends on the project. I use all weights and don’t necessarily have a favorite. All weights have their place, I like how quickly thick yarns work up, but don’t like buying a ton of skeins it takes to make something (I also won’t use thicker yarns for detailed work). Thinner yarns are versatile, you can achieve beautiful detail, but take longer to progress. The weights I use the most are probably category 1-3. The least used is probably super bulky.
I mostly work with fingering weight but lately there have been babies arriving in my life so have been doing blankets with a 4 weight. However, I do like to have a variety of yarns in my stash so when the need for a special project arises I already have something to pick from 🙂
I mostly use worsted, but I enjoy working with all weights from 1-5 weights.
Fingering weight is my go-to, with Dk being a close second!
I was knitting mostly fingering weight yarn but as I am getting older my preference is dk or worsted. Your yarns are gorgeous.
I have been knitting mostly with fingering weight yarn recently, especially since it’s getting warmer here in the Midwest! In the winter months, I love enduring worsted! It’s so soft and squishy!
I used to almost exclusively use worsted weight yarn, but over the last year I’ve switched and now only really use fingering and dk!
I generally knit with dk weight
i generally use dk but im wanting to make lightweight things and just havent taken the plunge yet!
I’m already entered. I just wanted to compliment Tim’s display
I love the skeins making flowers.
Wow beautiful yarns! I mostly use DK weight or fingering! Happy may
My favorite weight is DK but I’ll work with anything if I like it enough. 😉
Previously I have used worsted weight yarns most often, but I learned how to knit socks last year, so now fingering and DK are my go to weights. Your yarns are stunning and the patterns are well written and easy to read. I hope to be able to get some soon. Thank you for the chance at your generous giveaway.
I love the fingering weights for general year round, but often move to dk or worsted for winter makes. Yet another gorgeous giveaway! Thank you!
I love to use fingering but I also think super bulky is really fun to work with
I usually crochet with Dk or fingering yarn. All of these skeins look so gorgeous and well displayed!
I love all the yarn in all the sizes! I can’t pick just one.
I love ALL the EFA yarns but currently working with Crema Sock which is totally devine! Thanks Chandi and Crew.
I usually knit with fingering weight.
I like knitting with sport weight yarns. That weight is supple but works up faster than fingering!
Fingering weight is my favorite
I love fingering weight yarns, and use them a lot, because of the drape & versatility the finished objects give me. But I also love dk and aran for heavier blankets and warm hugging shawls or ponchos and wraps.
Hello, I use a bit of everything ( I like them all, they are so pretty ), but I prefer the fingering yarn.
I typically like fingering but am finding more and more I like DK/sport. Oh, and Aran. Haha In other words….I love it ALL!!!!❤️
I usually knit with lighter yarn, but I’ve recently been on a crochet kick with worsted weight yarn
I love to knit with sport or dk weight, simply because I wish to get to wear the project faster. I can’t say that I don’t like fingering or worsted, though… my stash would tell you that I love all weights equally!
I have the most experience with worsted and DK. Since I’m getting back into knitting and crochet I just recently tried cotton( not my favorite) a little too heavy. Next I’m thinking sock. I’m venturing into tops 😁 My plan it to try all of it, very single solitary kind. Someday…..
I usually use fingering and dk weight, but, honestly, I like all weights and textures. Thank you for another gorgeous giveaway!
Tough question. It depends on the item that I am knitting. I would say DK and worsted weight.
Fingering and DK weight 🌞🌷💓
I crochet with every weight of yarn there is! From thread to super bulky, each project is it’s own and I love every moment!
