Hi Chandi! The first thing I’m making this year is a cream turtleneck sweater to add to my capsule wardrobe and I want to go back and pick up my Amado shawl WIP too.
First project in working on this year is finishing the Montastraea top that I started a long time ago!
You ask “what is the first project you will make this year?” I’ve been wondering that myself. I’ve got three sets of yarns picked out, but no decision yet on which will get used first, and only vague ideas of what I’m going do with any of them. So far as far as I’ve gotten is “Shawl yarn”, “Sweater Yarn” and “I don’t know yarn” for my guiding concepts.
My first project of the year was started and finished already!
A quick crochet lacy cardigan for my daughter in fine weight yarn.
I ended up loving how it came out I started another one for myself
My first project is already done too. I made a striped fringed poncho in bulky silk roving and recycled silk yarns in Mexican themed colors in just 2 days. (I’m home for a couple months for surgery recovery, plenty of time to knit!)
My first project and first time making one is a cardigan
I’m actually just starting a sweater with some beautiful alpaca tencel yarn 😊
Such beautiful yarn as always! It’s so amazing that you do these giveaways every month! My birthday was yesterday so I hope this will be my lucky month!
Good luck everyone. Hope all had a safe and happy New Years 😊
In 2023, my first project off the needles is planned to be my first fingering weight Tee!
I love all your designs and am setting aside some money to buy some yarn to make a pocket shawl with this lovely yarn

I just made a mini vest! Fits my stuffed animal perfectly. Now I feel confident in making my first vest!
The yarns are a fairyland meadow! They are beautiful! I’ve joined a Tunisian CAL and finished the first square—does that count as my first project? I want to make a shrug for my mom for her bday at the end of the month and finish one for me—for starters this year.
Happy New Year! The first project I am making this year is a crochet poncho! I’m loving it so far!

Does finishing started projects count, too? If so, I have two blankets to finish as well as a scarf (I always carry a small, simple knitting project with me wherever I go – give me a few idle minutes and out comes my yarn and needles!) Happy New Year, everyone!
After I finish the shawl I am currently knitting, I think I might knit a swancho (sweater poncho combo)!

I’m making a rainbow blanket for a precious baby.
a pair of socks for myself
The first project I did this year was a set of mini fingerless mittens for my daughter. Next is a hat in Buttery Bulky for a friend who’s having to leave sunny California to move to frigid Michigan. Still trying to figure out brioche so I can join the KAL but I’m scared I won’t be able to keep up. The stitches make sense to me, but I can’t get my hands to do them haha!
My first project this year is going to be a cardigan. The weather here is cold now and i got this dream for a cardi so i just need to get on with it. I also saw a cute pattern on your page that i might just have to add to my queue. Thank you for sharing your beautiful patterns with the world.
My first project of the year is actually finishing one I started in May or last year. It’s two matching scarves for a friend and myself, made with the Pearlescent Fingering Adventurous Hues kit, as well as resilient sock in Saffron and Timekeeper. I am hoping to finish in the next few days.
I’m fishing through my stash to choose yarn for a hat for myself.
I would love to make my first wearable. A sweater I think. I have never made anything that had to fit correctly. Shawls and ponchos really. I’m nervous about making 2 of anything. Like socks and sleeves

My first project of the year is a double layer hat. I’m hoping to finish it before it gets very cold again, but it’s fingering yarn, so I’m not sure I will.
This giveaway has amazing colors! They make me look forward to spring…
I think the project I will actually finish first this year is a scarf inspired by Pinky Hooks. I’m also knitting my first pair of socks thanks to Nimble Needles. I did acquire some dk weight yarn, so I’m going to look through some of the patterns on the site here (plus what I’ve already acquired from here already) to see if I find something that I think will fit the yarn (and me). Thank you again for all of your wonderful generosity. I hope you, Tim and the team have a productive, successful and MAGICAL year this year! –Gwendy Rose from mid-MO
what a beautiful assortment and what colors! It gives a taste of spring! For my first project of the year, I challenged myself to make my first top-down dress with raglan sleeves and German short rows. I absolutely wanted to use stitch “fausses côtes anglaises”. So since I couldn’t find a pattern I liked, I made up my own after reading a lot of different patterns. So far, so good. 🙂
I realized today I realized today that I left a comment but forgot to register. I did. 🙂
I’ve already completed my first project of the year. It’s a Linen Stitch cowl made from one of the December yarn club yarns – ‘Gifts.’ I love it and all my friends want one.

I’ve started embroidering, so my yarn crafts have been on the back burner. But I also vowed to finish a sweater that has been in a corner for a year…. Maybe I’ll do another crochet stuffed animal for my niece, to get back in the swing of things. I guess I haven’t chosen yet!

Those yarns are drool worthy. My first project this year is the SWEETGUM cardigan. I am excited to use the marling technique!
I actually have 2 that I have started, a Snowman ornament that I didn’t get a chance to make before Christmas, and I am practicing Tunisian crochet by making a pair of fingerless mitts. Once I feel with that, I will be making an Elf Coat.
My folks got me an Artyarns Merino Cloud fade mix, so I’m making the poncho with it. Good stuff, and the larger needles work better with my winter hands.

I am finishing a lot of projects this year, but will also start on LATO as part of the CAL

Possibly a baby sweater, waiting on the grandmother for the size. Until then, I’ll work on a couple of unfinished projects.
I have already finished my first project of the year. I cast on on the first and knit a toque in two days! Great beginning to the year.
A shawl. I still have to decide which pattern. I am in the Lato CAL ❤️
Happy to enter the give away drawing. Love Expression Fiber Arts. Ya’ll are so uplifting.
Beautiful yarn, and gorgeous display of it!!! Would be so much fun to win!
I actually have Two projects to finish before I start another. A sweater and a scarf!
My first project to start this year is a cowl using qivuit yarn I got on our trip to Alaska last year!
First project of this year is a lovely striped trapeze style pullover.
I haven’t decided what to start the year with—I’m still finishing up some things from last year. My daughter has requested a messy bun beanie so I might start there.
I haven’t quite decided what I’ll be knitting this year. I love knitting lace though, so I’m thinking I’m going to start with a nice lacy wrap. I really need to start knitting sweaters though as they are definitely more useful to me.
The colors of the yarn are gorgeous!!! I’ve been wanting to knit or crochet a blouse – I’ve downloaded so many beautiful patterns from this site. I would also like to crochet the Verano shawl for myself. I made one last year and gave it to my daughter. So many dreams when looking at this yarn!
Oh, so many things to make with this yarn! A sweater, a wrap, the possibilities are endless!
I’m finishing up a baby blanket to gift to my cousin, but then I’m going to dive into a shawl that will be mine, all mine!
My first project of the year is a crochet baby blanket. I’ve been getting into weaving lately and haven’t been knotting or crocheting much, but decided to get back to my fiber roots. ❤️
I would make a cowl. My fiber friends and I are attending the NY Sheep & Wool Festival (aka Rhinebeck) in October and we always make matching items to wear.
My first project this year is starting beautiful shawl/ wrap called Winter Tales Blanket Shawl with Malabrigo Arroyo in Coffee Toffee. My only goal is to complete it.
I’m working on a throw made with Dewy DK and just received the CashSilk Sock for my daughters Celosia sweater. we’re both excited to start this one!
I haven’t yet started a new project this year, still working on the Safe at Home blanket by Margaret Holzmann. I’m almost finished, so after this big project I’ve been working on since September it might be nice to do something quick like a headband.
I’m working on a shawl for a gift to a friend.
Working on some requested sofa arm covers first, but am itching to work on the Papallona shawl.
First new project (not carry over from last year) is a hat. I have a bit of a list of things I want to make for a garment competition later this year.
Granny square frog blanket with lily pads and lotus flowers. SO EXCITED!!!
Oh My Chandy, this must be the most beautiful give-a-way you have ever done! Pastels are my thing! Right now I am working on the hat & Cowl pattern of yours with your Creams and one of the Foxes. It is a delight. Thjank you for sharing your talent. I would be so delighted to be the winner!

I’m working on a set of washcloths.
My first project for this year is a scarf after my own design
a sweater
I’m trying to finish a blanket for my nephew and then I’m starting two baby blankets for my husband’s employees who are expecting this summer. The luster sport is my favorite for baby blankets. I have made several replacement blankets for the original ones that were loved to pieces.
Hello All! I will be making the Harmony Shrug in purple as my project of the new year, as soon as I finish the knee high rainbow socks for my son. Photo to come later.

My first project this year is a Forest Fairy doll I bought the yarn for two years ago XD
I finished Sue Ellen, just before Christmas. A friend fell sort of in love with it, didn’t like it being open. So my first project is a pocket scarf/shawl that is textured, cuddly, oh and has ribbing. Not too big an order, was thinking maybe a wattle type stitch and pray I can figure out ribbing from there lol. Happy New Year to you, Tim and your staff!
I am endeavoring to finish knitting a baby blanket that I started last year. I’m so slow at knitting, 😞 trying to enjoy the moments.
I just finished making the Hint of Spice sweater for my Mum, and now I’m working on Lacewing for myself! Also in the works is a Meltage poncho and a Shukrani shawl for a friend’s birthday in July. Plenty to keep me busy 😊
My first project of the new year is a crocheted blanket for a friend/coworker that just recently moved into a new home.

They look so lovely together!
I’m also signed up to make the 2023 MKAL and I can’t wait to see my Mirage Sport colors that I ordered!
I can’t have just one project going at a time, I love to knit every day, and work on several different projects at a time.

I have no idea what I’ll make this year!
I’m unsure of my first real project. I’m still very new but learning quickly. I think I’d like to make a long flowing/wrap around scarf
My Canadian cousin Rosemary is a huge Toronto Maple Leafs fan, so next week I’ll be starting an afghan for her in the Leafs team colors.
Since she’s Canadian, I guess I should say team “colours”, lol. We joke about spellings a lot. 🙂
What a lovely collection of yarn!!! I am working on a scarf and hope to finish it soon.
My first project for 2023 is a baby blanket for my niece who is expecting her first baby! Of course I have a number of other projects on the hook and needles! Happy new year Chandi1

Hi Chandi! The 1st project I am knitting this year is a Poncho. I am so enjoying knitting it so far. I have many projects lined up after this one. I have the whole collection of things that fly, when I receive December’s. I amd going to lay them all out and see what I would like to make including as many as possible. Do you have any suggestions?
My first 2023 project is a Milo Vest by Georgie Nicholson https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/milo-3, modified with the Pining Fir Yew stitch by Brenda Vanlerberghe https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pining-fir-yew in a self-striping yarn
Hi Chandi! The 1st project I am knitting this year is a Swoncho. I am so enjoying knitting it so far. I have many projects lined up after this one. I have the whole collection of things that fly, when I receive December’s. I am going to lay them all out and see what I would like to make including as many as possible. Do you have any suggestions?
Hi Deborah, I’m happy to help.
Since the Things with Wings Collection is all on Pearlescent Fingering, I’d suggest to check our website for patterns using that yarn. Here is the link: https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/categories/patterns.html?_bc_fsnf=1&Yarn+Base=Pearlescent+Fingering&sort=newest&Yardage%5B0%5D=400-599&Yardage%5B1%5D=800%2B&page=1
You have enough yarn to make 2 or even 3 projects. Separate them in 2 or 3 piles so they make beautiful fades and then cross check with the patterns from the link how many you’d need for the patterns you chose.
I hope this helps a bit! Enjoy the process and I’m already looking forward to seeing what you come up with! – Johanna 😍
Just finished a blanket for a gift and now planning to make an owl purse.
I’m knitting Euclidias with your Luster sport Gnome colorway kit. So soft!
My first knit project for the year is making a turtle neck sweater with fiber from my alpacas. I have two cream colored alpacas (General and Trooper) and I’ve been saving their wool. It is the softest fiber I’ve ever handled. I can’t wait to wear them!
My first projects this year are finishing knits already started – a pair of socks and a challenging intarsia jumper.
I am knitting the Nora Shawl with Juniper Moon Farm Cumulus and Cumulus Dappled. It’s very soft and squishy! Thank you for your generous giveaways every month!
Silly thing. I found myself drowned in some really rough bulky wool. It’s very pretty, but not clothing friendly, so I decided to make a cat bed out of it. I have three cats and they’re always vying for the beds so this will give them one more. I may or may not join the Brioche Along. I’m still finishing the last CAL that I joined, and I might feel bad having yet another WIP to look at. LOL. Thank you for all you do.
Hello, I hurt my hand and got slowed down with my makes. Thrummed mittens should be on my hands, but they are on my needles. Next new 2023 cast on will be 18″ doll slippers. A fast and easy! I had sewn an old-fashioned nightgown, sleep mask, and teddy bear. Gave the outfit a look over before presenting the gift and realized the doll had bare feet. LOL
I am working right now on the new Lato pattern. I am making a small travel blanket. So pretty!
I’m starting a jumper [sweater] for my little nephew. My first time chancing a jumper, let’s see how it goes!
LOVE the colors! Still trying to finish a test knit sweater…my first sweater project.
Hi Chandi , Tim and Team !

Happy New Year indeed and All the very best as always,
marcia
My first project is a sweater/jumper for my little girl!! I am teaching myself to knit, so the sweater will be crochet, but as soon as I can knit, I will definitely be venturing into more projects. Thank you for your amazing tutorials on YouTube that make learning much MUCH easier!!
My first project of the year is a Flax Light using my advent calendar, the second one will be a drop shoulder long sleeve pullover using EFA Luster Merino Tencel Sport in the colorway Tenacity that has been in my stash for years.
My first project this year would be the beautiful Malvarosa, for my daughter. The green skeins in the give-away are the perfect green we’ve been looking for for so long!
I am making a sweater for my grand-daughter. Very excited for the Josephine 2 color Brioche-along.
The yarns are beautiful. A blanket, maybe log cabin pattern, would be lovely out of those.
Technically my first project of the year was finishing up a doilie I’d started last year and had planned to finish up on New Year’s day but ran into several mistakes that required several unmakings. I finally finished it. A picture is posted on my Instagram account. I’m now working on another doilie that is a bit more challenging. It will be done with two colours and is also in size 30 crochet thread. I’ve also made some cute cat toys for my sister’s cat Alexander out of the plastic rings from milk jugs and yarn. They end up looking like flowers and he really loves playing with them. There are most likely about two dozen scattered around my house. I have three more rings waiting for their yarn covers.
My first project I am working on is a crochet sweater using my handspun yarn. I am excited as it is the first project using yarn I spun myself. Happy New Year to everyone! 😊
My first project for 2023 is a short sleeved sweater, but not until my other WIP is done 😉.
My first project has been a couple hats and started a blanket.
Mittens.
I’d like my first project to be something that I can give to my friend next week for her birthday. Not sure what, though.
First project this year is slippers for my neighbour. A sparkle hat for me and a scrappy blanket.
Happy New Year EFA! I’ve started 3 projects: A knit scarf with cables, bobbles & seed stitches; a crochet mandala; and a basic brioche sweater inspired by the Josephine pattern. I’ve just cast on, but waiting to really start after the Brioche KAL. Really excited! Thanks!
I’m in afghan mode – while it’s cold. Finishing one for my daughter – and then starting one for Christmas next year.
Wow Chandi, what a bundle of HAPPY you’ve put together for us! thank you!
My first project is to continue working on a Vest WIP from last year but I just needed a quick FO so snuck in a quick crochet cloth test…. as you do.
I have started knitting again after many years… I am making myself some shawls and finished 2 since the Fall… looks like I’m on a roll at this rate!!!
Evening from the UK
Looking forward to trying the MKal starting for 2023 💕
I’m just starting a sweater for my first project of the year!
My first project for 2023 is to finish the last project of 2022 — which was supposed to be done by the end of December, but alas, that didn’t happen. It’s a sweater that I want to finish in time for there still be enough “colder” weather days in Texas to wear it at least once this season. Only 8 more inches to go!
My first project this year is the 2022 advent stole by Bridget Kok.. And me being me modified it, I made it wider and is going to be longer……. I also have two or three other projects that I have set up to start, patterns and yarn put together but they’re just sitting for now….. I’m also looking at a couple shawls by Ambah O’Brian to use up my minis.
I’ve been trying and entering since the giveaway had less than 100 entrants….. maybe this will be my lucky year!! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Thanks for the wonderful giveaway!! My first (and continuing) project was finishing a spiral lapghan for my cousin who has cancer.
Currently making a shawl that i make up as i go with yarn i already have, and making a small granny stripe blanket. But itching to do more projects 😀
I really love all the colors, so beautiful. I am starting the year with a CAL Blanket, and a MAL Scarf.
These colors 😍. I’m hoping to make a sweater by creating panels on a circular knitting machine, then stitching them together. While trying to get use to the knitting machine, I made a tiny hat as my first project this year.
My first project I’m starting this year is a mosaic crochet blanket. It’s been on my to-do list for ever and I’m finally trying it!
Hi Chandi, I’m undecided which to cost for my first new year project. I’m thinking Anuket or Sweet Gum. Anuket because it’s gorgeous and Sweet Gum because mama needs a new cardigan! Lol
Not aure what will be first, Last month I taught myself how to crochet so I will be looking for something simple… maybe a shawl or lap blanket
I plan on making a twist beanie using EFA fingering yarn!
A sweater for a co-worker of my daughter. Crochet, of course.
I’m not sure what I want to make. I do want to make some doilies and frame them for Christmas gifts for this year.
I’ve already started and am half way through a Multnomah Falls hat, and have two sweater WIPs, plus a stack of other WIPs which I really DO want to finish sometime in my lifetime!!!!
My first new project this year will be a sweater for my husband.
The first project I will begin this year is the BAL Josephine Shawl
A couple of blankets for family are my first projects for the year.
Finishing a summer shell
I just found out we have a new baby on the East coast side of the family. She was quite premmie, so a 1yr size sweater will fit her a while.
My first project of the year is a sweater set for my 6 month old granddaughter. Then I was planning on trying the Josehpine , but I will need to practice some as I don’t knit as well as i crochet.
I am making a rainbow baby blanket in pastels for our niece’s first little one that is due in April.
Love the colors in this month’s giveaway!
The first project I’ll be making this year is the Jeanne scarf and hat set! I’ve started the scarf and am looking forward to finishing both!
Happy New Year, Chandi! My first project this year is an Abigail Fairy Dress for my granddaughter, made with the Bamboo Fingering Yarn I just received from Expression Fiber Arts in December, in colorway “Flip Flop.” It is gorgeous and feels like a cloud and it is crocheting up what I believe is going to be the most special version of the pattern that I’ve made to date! I love these January colors! I just sent you a message through the website inquiring about any yarn you may have or be planning to have in the color of cornflower blue! Thanks for everything!
My first FO of 2023 was a Waylen Hat! Will be gifting it this coming weekend.
My first project for the year is a beanie for my little brother! He requested one for his upcoming trip to Seattle 🙂
First project this year (once Ive finished a couple of WIPs) is a top down crochet sweater in a fade
These colours are just stunning 🥰
My 1st craft project was me falling back in love with cross stitch and completing a hogwarts crest. My 1st knitting project thought will be you BAL and I can’t wait for my yarn to arrive. But will do the 1st one with some stash yarn.
The first project I’ve started working on this year is an EFA crochet shawl that in hoping to finish as a Christmas gift for this year. I’ll most likely finish an embroidered baby birth detail as my first finished project of the year.
I will be finishing a cardigan and making a Cuban wrap first thing this yeat
My main goal this year is to finish all the WIPs I’ve piled up over the years. I already finished a knit hat to go into a collection to be donated, and I finished a pair of DK weight socks for myself on New Years Day. Once the cut on my finger heals–it’s right where I push the needle in; I knit English style–I can finish a slouchy hat for myself, since I made one for both my sons over the holidays. Can’t wait to consolidate all the things down to just one or two WIPs at a time! I might actually get some things done for a change! 🙂 Happy 2023, Chandi, Tim, & crew!!
My first project this year is a knit hat for my newborn baby
I’m crocheting a curved triangle in gradating colors, hopefully it’ll be soft and squishy! Happy New YEAR Chandi.
I’ve already finished an alpaca yoke sweater for myself and hav another top-down cabled rib sweater on my needles! I’m declaring it the year of the sweater. 🙃
Just finished my first project of the new year, a pair of socks from yarn I was gifted.
Chandi, thank you for being such a loving and generous soul! I am positively in awe of these beautiful, peaceful colors. I am going to research your patterns and find the perfect match for these lovely yarns. Following your emails, I know you have curated the harmonious pairings for each! I feel like this bundle gives the winner a perfect knitting gift list, ready for the enjoyment of knitting and sharing our passion!
Beautiful yarn! As always, it’s such a lovely variety of coordinating shades. My first project was very small (that is apparently the only kinds of projects I can complete lately). It was a small pouch and I’m not sure if I will keep it for myself or give it as a gift. Now I need to decide which WIP I will complete (or just work on) next. haha
First project this year is going to be the Laiken shawl. It’s been in my to-do pile for a while, but other projects have kept coming up.
I’ve made a promise to myself to finish two WIPs from 2022 before I begin any new knits.
Hi Chandi! My first project this year is a blanket for my niece that we are waiting to see in April! 💖💖💖
My first will be the Hipster Cowl by Joji, It was love at first sight `
I have just finished 3 crochet throws for my granddaughters’ friends. The pattern is from Nana’s Crafty Home called “Candy Kisses”. I can just picture your beautiful yarns turning into beautiful wraps and shawls. I think I want to start your “Lato” wrap and see if mine turns out as beautiful as yours. I am so interested in dyeing my own yarns and wonder how this would work in Hawaii seeing as we don’t need hats and scarves! But we do need wraps and shawls! Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to win some of the most glorious of yarns.
The sets of yarns in this month’s giveaway are absolutely stunning. I love the soft floral colors.
I’ve already made a few winter headbands this year, and am now preparing to make a knitted sweater for the first time. I have crocheted for years, but I’m still just getting my feet wet with knitting. It’s a pretty exciting endeavor, so wish me luck!
My first makes have been hats. I’m doing a challenge, a hat a week. ( I cheated and made 2 haha) The hats will be donated to a teen homeless place here in my town.
I would love to make a shawl for my mother. 🙂
These are so beautiful!
Just finished a shawl so the first project I start this year will be socks.🤞 wish me luck
The first project I hope to complete this year is the mysa shawl!!! 🙂
I just finished a warm headband for my granddaughter’s 10th birthday. Then I found out that I had used the colour of the year! Hope she loves it.
I am making a teddy bear for one of my favorite coworker who is due in April. It will be my first completed project of the year, among so many older WIPs
I’m making Fennmont in the teals/fox colors of twisted tweed. 🧡💙
The first thing I’m making this year is a blanket.
What a beautiful way to start the new year. I want to try the Brioche KAL and the 2023 KAL. Hard to decide.
My first project, if I win these beautiful yarns will be my first time using any of your wonderful colors and yarn. I would make one of your patterns.
I’m going for it, Chandi. I got your first sweater tutorial and I’m knitting Creery!!
Hello Chandi and thank you:)
My first knit project this year and month is a neck scarf..knitted with Baby Alpaca. It is dreamy.
Congratulations to Kathy. Enjoy all that hand dyed goodness.
I’m still deciding between another Perseverance or maybe a sweater.
Nice spring colors 😍
I am now knitting a top. Will work on a blanket next with a design I get your website.
Always like your yarn colours and how this is associated to a theme.
I’ve already managed two beanie hats!
I have a new grandchild due January 31st, so will definitely be knitting baby things.
I will be finishing up a CAL blanket, and then starting on a pair of crochet hippos for a co-worker.
My first 2 projects this year were Fingerless Gloves, I finished 2 pairs. Now on to a Summer Top. Love the colors of this months yarn giveaway.
My first project this year is a cowl that I started to help a knitting friend understand the cowl she was making. I’m loving it and she’s doing well!
My first knit project this year is Lacewing (EFA) using Moongleam Fingering yarn. My first crochet project is Dreamy Lattice shawl (Mijo Crochet) using non-EFA yarn. It will take me a while to complete these projects since that work thing eats into my crafting time.
Happy New Year Chandi I am either going to cast on the Boudreaux or the faded blush shawl.
I’ll be finishing the crocheted Aran Toggle Wrap for my mom tomorrow. Then I’ll be starting a CAL to make a pair of socks.
I took a knitting hiatus the last few months, so I’m starting the year off strong! I’ve already completed a hat and 2 pairs of slippers. I just started a temperature blanket and a cardigan. I also have a New Year’s resolution to use up some of my stash to knit hats for a homeless charity in our area. Hopefully 2-4 hats a month.
I love all of your yarns and can’t wait to plan my next projects!!
Your yarns are beautiful! My first grandchild is sue any day and I have feverishly been creating lovelies for him and your yarns would be perfect to start beautiful spring creations for him.
First, I will be finishing my first ever pair of knitted socks! (almost done with sock #2!) & then I think I’ll be starting a new shawl!
Thanks for this opportunity! I just received some of your yarn that I ordered and I’m in love!! I’m hoping my first make will be a knit top. I’m working on learning knit and just got some circular needles. I’m super excited!!
More socks! This was the first ever Christmas that I had made enough socks to give to my four sisters and their daughters. Everyone loved it! I hope to keep up the tradition.
The colours of the yarn are so gorgeous as usual! My first project of the year is Gofleidio with my dewy DK kit and I absolutely adore the way the yarn just glides through my fingers!! So buttery soft to the skin!
I am halfway crocheting a circular rug!
First project cast-on is socks
The first thing on my hook to make is a Turtle Neck Hoodie
First project is to finish one! I have two jumpers and two cardigans that need finishing, so I will make a concerted effort to finish those before I am tempted to start something new 🙂
Hi. Such beautiful colours. I have already finished my first project for 2023, a beautiful vest. I’m working on a pair of socks now. One down, one to go.
I made my husband a simple beanie to sleep in. I also need to finish some Christmas knitting and crochet 😬
Not a new new project. I have been requested a group of dishcloths to make for a bunch of new brides this spring and summer ( think 4 brides, 1 shower each, at 5 dishcloths in each bunch) I will have to start now…there is only so much worsted cotton yarn I can knit in a day.
Hmm…my first project will be two hand knit Christmas stockings, sorry business first. 🙂 But when I am finished I will be knitting a new shawl with some lace weight or fingering yarn. I haven’t made up my mind, yet.
I would probably make a sweater with that yarn its some beautiful yarn this month.
My first project this year is a mkal scarf for my local yarn crawl, but I’m also hoping to join the Josephine kal!
Hi Chandi, thank you for all the joy you bring. The first I am making is a long cardigan/coat in wintery blues, silver and bluegreens with some powdery pink and a touch of fuchsia.
Beautiful yarn! Thank you for the opportunity to enter your giveaway Chandi. I’d like to knit more this year, starting with Bronte and have joined your MKAL Advertence! I’ve ordered some yarn from you so I’m ready to begin on the 29th Jan ’23!
These yarns are absolutely gorgeous 💜 I am working on a hat and scarf for my mom’s birthday.
First Project – Baby Blanket (due by March!)
My first project start of 2023 will take me a year to do as I’m doing a temperature afghan!
I would love to make my first wearable sweater. ❤️
What a beautiful variety of colors for you giveaway! I am still struggling to finish my first sweater – trying to decide if I should FROG the body back and reduce the circumference. It is too wide. . . but I really want it to be finished. I also want to wear it with confidence, so FROGGING will probably begin this week!
Thank you so much for the chance to win some beautiful yarn! My first project this year (and ongoing for a few months) are some yip-yips! So much fun to make!

Noro cardigan-new year new yarn!
I’ve already completed my first project this year! I crochet a baby cardigan for my friend’s shower coming up this weekend.
My first project for the year is a knit sweater! I purchased some fuzzy yarn to crochet a project, and it didn’t go well because the yarn didn’t frog well at all, but I really love the yarn, so I decided to try knitting with it, and found a simple sweater pattern that I thought would look great with this yarn. It is working very well! I’m excited to complete the project, as this is my first full-sized knit sweater (I did participate in a testing a pattern for cropped sweater vest in a bulky yarn this past November/December, which turned out okay, but it was way too large, so I never weaved in the ends, and I won’t wear it.) Should I gift or donate it to someone, or tink the whole project and start again with the smaller size?
Absolutely gorgeous yarns and colors…..my first project this year is a cowl and fingerless mitts. I just love working with your yarns…thank you for offering such gorgeous yarns and colors ranges.
Right now I’m finishing up the Lucy Bag by Two Old Bags. Since I will be going away for 2 weeks in February I think my 1st new project of 2023 will be knitting socks, the supplies for which I can easily pack in my suitcase.
Gorgeous, gorgeous yarn! My first project this year is a beautiful Scandinavian colorwork sweater for my mother.
I’m returning to a pair of socks I’m making for my partner. The project has been in hibernation during holiday knitting time, and it feels nice to return to a simple and necessary item for daily life.

Hi Chandi and Team – first first, Wishing you all a fantabulous year ahead !!!! This give away is just too beautiful !! A week ago I started making a sweater for my son for his 33rd bday in Feb, but it doesnt really count as I presented him with a big bag of yarn and an option to choose his own pattern on Xmas day. And I am still slowly conquering both “Adalia and Plongee” which I started mid November. SOOO (drum roll) … my biiiig first project for 2023 is that I have signed up for the Multivalence CAL. I have never done a CAL before and am SOO excited 🤪🤩😍
It’s a race right now – depending on when my sister decides to purchase her yarn, it will be either Crossaster (for myself) or the Adarna top for her.

I knit a lot, so no first project really. Just finished a Love Note a few days ago that was a January 1st cast on kal. Knitting socks, dolls, the Tegna and the Witchling right now. I am a multi project knitter. Almost done the sweaters, ribbing the last sock but then I start another pair. When the sweaters are done I start more as well, and dolls are always in the works, they are my best sellers at market. This is what works for me.
I’ll be starting socks. Hard to see the yarn in the pics.
My first project this year is a knitting project: a dragonstail shawl with a self striping yarn. For me very special, because i’m normaly a crocheter…. And I like to mention… lovely colors for this months give away 🥰, looking forward to spring!

I also have a blanket going (not from EFA) that I need to finish.
