Laying out a roadmap or planning goals for my crafting is really not my style. I’ve never done it until last year. Even as I set them, I knew I wouldn’t achieve those goals, but I also knew that I wouldn’t consider it a failure, so I guess they were more suggestions than goals to begin with. The only thing I can say for sure is that I plan to continue crafting, and to continue enjoying it.
I plan to use as much of my yarn collection to knit and crochet garments , and socks
I have sweaters on the brain for next year.
I am planning on finishing the advent kit, and making a vest for me. I also want to get the spinning wheel a woukout
More and more and more shawls and scarves, knitted and crocheted. Many colors, fine yarns – merino, alpaca, silk, cashmere, cotton.
Agreed, Andrew.
I’d love to say I have a plan, but knitting for me is a have-to-feel-it thing. I’ll know in the moment what I’ll make next. 🙂
I just want to finish all my wipes and then to knit a Jennifer Steingass sweater.
I’m a fairly new knitter but along time crocheter. I plan to knit my first pair of socks in the new year. The colors in this giveaway are gorgeous!
Making a scarf for my mom for Christmas
I tend to start things, get distracted by other projects and rarely finish anything. My goal for 2023 us to finish some of my languishing wips, and take time to work on learning to knit socks.
Omg! These colors are amazing! So gorgeous! I plan on finishing various projects that I’m sure won’t be finished this month. For knit I will be finishing your Shukrani shawl (it’s been on hold since late spring and will be until I finish making Christmas gifts), I’d also like to start a basic sweater and the Faie sweater, I will also attempt to knit my first pair of gloves. For crochet I’m going to finish my husband’s sweater and hopefully resume working on Scheepjes’s Rozetta blanket.
I want to knit more garments in the new year (she says again …).
Love those colours 😍 and of course I need more yarn to put all the ideas into life 😃
I’m not a planner person, I’m a free soul. But there is a on thing I’m focus, I want to improve my kniting.
Thank you for the chance, this are such a beautiful colors and texturas.
Have a wonderful Holidays! 🎄☃️❤
Hi Carol
Thought I would comment after looking over the yarn giveaway… again. Beautiful colors. I am a fairly new knitter, about 5 years. I have been working this past year on my pace, speed and of course accuracy. (Less troubleshooting would be nice😉. This coming year I would like to try out a couple of your patterns downloaded recently and some on hand I’ve been saving. Thankful for an entry!!!
Those colors are beautiful!
I would like to knit some more sweaters, but that depends on if I can past the one I’m stuck on now!
You can do it Jordon! 💕
These fibers and colors are gorgeous! I plan on making as many different projects as possible! I want to hone in my crochet skills and try new things! I haven’t gotten the chance to start a big project yet due to a very strict budget so winning would be a dream come true!
I’d love to try socks or leggings for my baby this coming year.
These colors are so beautiful! In the next year I want to get serious about learning to knit! I really want to knit this shawl I have a pattern for, so I’ll go for that, on top of the Cricut stuff I do, watercolor painting and sewing and crocheting. I really just want to stay busy!
To get better organized and finish up some old wips I have
I need to get rid of some of my stash so that I can add more to it! So I have to make a couple of sweaters and a cardigan. I’m also learning to dye a bit, though I’ll never stop pampering myself with other dyers’ amazing colors!
Next year is the year of socks. Then maybe trying to knit a sweater. 🙂
Next year, it’d just be nice to make a couple hats. Start small and work my way up to bigger projects. It’s been awhile since I’ve crafted!
!n 2023, I would love to start knitting socks again! I’ve always wanted to finish a pair, but keep on getting stuck with second-sock-sindrome😅
Try two at a time, long needle magic loop! Or maybe treat yourself to 2 pairs of your favorite DPN if you prefer! No second sock syndrome and you can make changes on the go without having to notate and try to match the second!!
I’m planning on learning to knit lace!
I want to knit a bedspread next year.
I still have so many christmas projects on the list that next year seems super far away 😀 I am thinking of doing a temperature babyblanket for a friend’s newborn and I really want to try my hand at socks as I have never been able to finish knitting them, maybe crochet will work better for me.
Learning new techniques to improve my knitting skills. Only have the basics at the moment. Would like to do lace knitting. Also would like to tackle a challenging crochet pattern. These are my dreams right now. Looking forward to all your upcoming projects and yarns in the coming year.
Hi Chandi! Thanks for another opportunity to win! This year I plan on a few pairs of socks, but first shawls! I just love the beauty of the shawls. The past few months I’ve made about 8 shawls – both knit and crochet. Currently I’m working on Gdansk with the Bamboo Alpaca. Love!
My crafting plans include knitting a whole bunch of shawls, a few pairs of socks, and maybe, just maybe, my first full size sweater! I also need to weave in the ends of a few previous projects, but that’s its own situation lol
I plan on weaving fabric for my mother and I to sew sweaters for each other with.
Next year I want to make my first cable cardigan and learn to knit socks!
I’ll be concentrating on knitting more sweaters for myself and I’ll be knitting or crocheting another fingering weight blanket. I have 3 under my belt already and feel lost without one to work on.
Chandi, you are so generous with your beautiful patterns, and now even a chance to win, plus a voucher! I’ll definitely be purchasing one of you inspirational patterns! Thank you so very much and happy holidays! Hoping to make a sweater or wrap for myself. Something ultimately soft and cozy!
My biggest goal is to finally knit myself a cardigan. I’ve been knitting a ton for other people, it’s time to make myself something nice!
I want to do more knitting, tunisian, and learn to pour resin, do more needlework, if my finger joints allow it, and just expand my crafting horizons! I would also like to donate more of my finished works to people who could use them, charitable foundations, and worthy places around where I live. Have a Great week Chandi and everyone!
Hi Chandi! I plan this year chrocet the shawl Adalia.
My crafting plans are to knit a sweater next year, which would be a first for me. Wish me luck!
I’m looking forward to getting more proficient and dipping into garments. So far I’ve managed to make Balanced Point, but I want to try a garment in the round. I have to admit I’m terrified! I also just organized my stash so I know that a few more wraps are in my future. Lastly, socks, mittens and hats. Another goal of mine is to get involved with a local knitting group or start one at the base I’m stationed at.
Thank you so much for another gorgeous giveaway! It’s always so exciting to enter! Right now, I don’t have any specific plans for crafting next year (I still need to finish for this year, time is ticking!).
Next Year’s Projects!
I’ve been wanting to learn to crochet for years. I finally was able to make some fingerless dragon scale gloves, and that’s given me the basis to try to learn to actually crochet.
Stuff that’s been in my thoughts: learn to knit socks and amigurumi. The Crystal Roads shawl gave me my first mosaic experience, and I want to try more.
A friend asked me to knit a vest, so there’s another first for next year’s projects.
I want to design and knit two blankets: an illusion blanket with stars (I’m almost a third of the way through a free pattern for a star illusion blanket) and a double knitted blanket. I’ve never made my own designs before. I’ve got an idea for a brioche and cable shawl, so fingers crossed. I love trying new things!
Thank you for the opportunity to enter your giveaway Chandi. I hope to finish some of my WIP and knit more. This year I learned how to Tunisian crochet, so I’d like to do more of that too. One day, I’m going to set up my spinning wheel, re-watch your spinning videos and give it a go!
I have a couple of sweaters and shirts that I plan to crochet next year. I also want to crochet a velvet blanket for my couch.
I rarely plan my knitting, unless a baby sweater will be needed in a few months — and I’m hoping that I won’t need to make any of those too soon! So for now I’m trying to work out a pattern for a simple throw — I want to work it corner to corner, rather than as written, to use every bit of my yarn.
My plan for New Year is to make shawls, blankets and giving them away as gifts which are my favourite projects and I always love to challenge myself to try something new. To me it doesn’t matter if I win or lose on any projects I make, at least I’ve giving it a try. Having a laugh, have fun times and most importantly taking part in new projects
Take care, stay safe and have a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to everyone around the world
Hi Chandi! My crafting plans for next year include finally knitting a sweater! I have never knit one so it’s time!!!! 🤶🏻🎄
My only plan is to finish what I didn’t accomplish this year, or had to set aside for unexpected projects. I have some idea of what I want to make but I have to allow for life happening.
2 shawls for elderly relatives
A shawls from the yarn I git from my daughter
Wow what lovely yarn! My plans for the next year are to knit a pair of socks each month on top of any sweaters or shawls I’m working on. I never knew sock knitting could be so addictive!
I’m planning on making some wearables for me! After finishing a few projects that really need attention! Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
My crafting plans for the next year? Oh my gosh! Where to start: the list seems unendless to me, because there are so much awesome patterns to work. Falling Stars, Point Horizon and Sugarblush are on the needles / hooks right now (WIP). Segue in a monochromatic version, Ichor and Drift are planned (actually, but that can change 😉 ). And lots of other patterns that my be released during the year.
Thanks Chandy for all those fantastic patterns, video tutorials and your inspiring work!!! Big hugs.
I started my first tapestry crochet project, but I’ll probably be putting it aside for a bit to make a blanket for a friend that just got home from the hospital. I also have a lovely knit scarf with an argyle lace look that I started.
I want to make some more hats. And I want to go ahead and do some filet crochet. I don’t imagine that is too hard. At least I hope not. 🙂
BTW, love your hand dyed yarns. Beautiful colorways.
I would like to try mosaic crochet, I have already found a pattern for a blanket I’d like to make using this technique. Maybe I’ll also crochet a jumper for my fiancé (but he may be my husband by the time I make it!)
Thank you for this giveaway!
I’ve just learned to knit socks, and next year I plan to knit many pairs of socks to develop that skill.
My needlework plans are being obstructed by my deteriorating health, so I may have to put some of my projects aside and hope that I can eventually get better again.
But there are definitely going to be crochet and knit blankets and throws, and various garments and shawls
I would love to play with these yarns in the new year! Am planning to finish a couple of WIP shawls and make some doll clothes and mittens.
I’m planning to do my first ever cable project❤
I would like to knit some of your wonderful shawl patterns, as well as a sweater. The colours of the giveaway are so beautiful
I’m going to attempt to crochet my first cardigan. It’ll be my first wearable other than shawls.
I’m going to finish both of the CAL and KAL blankets of 2022 and making some nice tops for the summer.
I hope to make some memories.
Just as soon as I create more time.❣️
I want to work on the 6 knitting projects & 12 crochet projects I’ve got with designated patterns & EFA yarn!!! I just finished organizing them & they’re all ready to go – I just need the time to do them all!
Je participe Youpi
Hi Chandi! My plans include much more time to devote to crocheting and knitting because I will stop working at the end of this month and teach my first real crafting class at a local yarn shop in January (intro to Tunisian crochet) – hopefully the first of many. I’m also dabbling in some pattern design while learning new techniques and improving my current skills. I’m so excited to really dig into my passion next year!
Started crocheting only recently. I plan to keep on making different shawls and maybe try some simple pieces of clothing ☺️✨🧶
Hello,
I can not knit so fast and realize all the ideas and inspirations. I love shawls and cardigans….
Ooh once I get my school stuff outta the way (and start preparing for the future-) I wanna finish off this knit vest I started off!!! I wanna add items to my wardrobe that I made myself💪😌🌟
I want to knit a sweater for my mom and also would love to learn how to knit socks.
Im a crocheter and like to start knitting again after 25 years. Goal to knit a sweater in 5XL with Chandi’s patterns and videos. Also want to learn evry stitch and techniques in knitting with different projects. Of course my love belongs to crocheting where i like to have always 2 projects in making, easy and somthing realy brain stimulating. Big project will be a coat with sock yarn also in 5XL.
Crafting plans for 2023 …. Hmmm …. Try and achieve more than this year … but most importantly enjoy doing it.
This year has been truly awful for me. …. So upwards and onwards contentedly is the plan.
Beautiful…aching to mKing a sweater..
I planning to knit the Pressed Flowers Shawl and a pair of socks each month.
My knitting plans include a lot of stash busting as well as using up the the various “leftovers” from other projects
My stash needs attention…. some sweaters, shawls, hats, sock when needed and requested for family .
I have several WIPs I plan to finish! I also plan to use up a lot of my stash (and new yarns!) for rigid heddle weaving projects. : )
Im working on reducing my stash! I’d like to finish the shawl im working on and do more socks and a sweater for my daughter! I’m also finishing my first blanket – but seaming all the squares together is taking forever!
I’m going to attempt to knit a sweater this year. I’m looking forward to the challenge!
I plan on knitting more for charity
My plans are to step out and try more crochet garments and learn how to knit.
Love all your yarn. Hope to make more sweaters next year. And want to start doing color work. Something I’ve been very intimidated by.
Seasons Greetings Chandi and EFA Team!❄️☃️🎊🎉 Congrats to November winner! My plans for next year is to continue practicing my crochet and kitting skills to meet gauge of every pattern. 🧶🧵🪡
I plan to finish a wrap for my mom, continue making hats for charity, and maybe make something for me. 😉
I have a brand new grand daughter to spoil with the best in garments and amigurumi .
Thank you again for the opportunity to enter this competition. I’m confident all the previous years winners are enjoying all your squishy goodness. I plan to divide my time between knitting for charity, setting and leading by example with our Creative Fibre Timaru (NZ) challenging, extending my skills with new techniques,.I’d like to try double knitting. And especially to complete garments for my family. Your kind words and thoughts are always welcome.
I am going to be selling my home, and relocating to a ‘no maintenance’ type of situation. I am permanently disabled and I feel really positive about my decision. I think I will find it a relief to NOT have to think about maintaining my 3 bedroom home. After getting settled in (which is what I said when I moved to this home a year ago!! 🤭)….. I am ready and excited to learn how to Tunisian crochet!!! I may even decide to learn how to knit!!! I look forward to whatever is ahead of me. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU & TIM!! Wishing you and your families great joy for 2023! 🎉🧧🎉🥂
My goal is to continue learning new stitch patterns and build my knowledge and project base. Someday I’d love to knit myself a sweater, but it feels so daunting right now. But someday I will!😊
I want to do more wearables and have a wonderful huge closet of crochet items!
Finishing my creery sweater and more time for Crochet and knit in general. A lot of my crafting time this year went to sewing.
I really need to catch up on my mkal blanket. I have been so busy trying to finish Christmas gifts 🤣. I also have some shawl patterns to work on, and I want to knit a pair of socks. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season 😁
I’ve had a lot of things going on this year, and a lot of things taking up my time. I’ve gone from making intricate lace patterns to fairly simple, quick off the needles projects (not entirely by design; I’ve tried twice since July to produce shawls faster than cancer can spread and only succeeded once). As a result, my plans for the coming year are a return to what I love and perhaps even a step forward on that path. I’d like to get back to knitting as a form of focus and almost meditation rather than working to a deadline.
I suppose, more concisely, my goal for the coming year is more lace and beauty, less rush and stress.
Next year, it’d just be nice to make a couple hats. Start small and work my way up to bigger projects. It’s been awhile since I’ve crafted!
To continue to work through my stash & to try and improve my business to be able to sell more of my makes.
Playing with patterns, recently discovered fair Isle and my brain likes the creative process with colours.
The most important project that I have on my list is the afghan my son has requested.
Knitting blankets for the palliative care floor at a hospital to bring colour to a patient’s room. Blankets will be given to the patient’s family afterward.
I’ve been making gifts for family and friends this past year, so I plan to learn how to knit a sweater as a gift to myself this coming year!
Hi Chandi
I’m planning on knitting a spring sweater with the yarn I purchased from you a while ago. It seems I want it perfect, so I have been busy this year making three sweaters so that I can be more familiar with sweater knitting construction. I also have to learn and practice combining skeins and alternating them as I go. Lots of learning ahead but up for the challenge! Have a nice day. Julie
Lots of cables, trying to design my father a cable sweater. I usually try to make him a sweater every year. He loves them.
I enjoy knitting stuffies and am just starting to branch out into making “orders” for people outside my family. I plan to get organized with this next year.
In 2023 I plan to do more knitting and weaving. I am a beginner knitter and am working on my first shawl. I want to be good enough before I purchase some of your beautiful yarn to make a lace shawl!
I tried learning how to knit Estonian Lace but my eyes are against me so, back to the drawing board! I will continue to knit and crochet simpler garments like, Ponchos, Hats, Scarves, Sweaters, Cardigans, Mandalas, etc.
One plan…finish 5 ufos (4 knits and one counted cross stitch) all before i can cast on any new gifts for myself
I’m planning to continue learning how to design lace shawls. I also have to pick my knitting proceeds charities for the year. ❤️
Hoping to finish the temperature blanket i started in 2020; i keep getting distracted by other crochet alongs and quick projects! I have 2 more planned and yarn is already purchased to do as well but we will see if i can get them done in 2023.
I made a crafting “log” this year to see how many projects I completed. And finished all but 1 of my 2021 wips which was this years goal- i still have time to finish that last one. Hopefully i can start 2023 woth no wips!
I plan to branch out my crocheting to try some Tunisian projects.
My goal is to finish the 3 sweaters I’ve cast on so I can wear them this winter and to start (and finish) at least two more that are calling my name! I also plan to continue my efforts at using up previously purchased yarn – one project from “old” yarn, then one project from “new yarn”. It worked pretty well in 2022. But these yarns would definitely be hard to resist.
Hi Chandi. I need to finish the MKAL blanket first. Then the Wine Country hooded scarf and other variations. Want to make some mittens from left over yarn. Another sweater, “Falling Stars.” My first Fair Isles type attempt. Will be using “Be The Storm” with “Fudge Brownie” for the stars. I also plan to do some weaving. This ought to keep me occupied this winter. Thanks for producing the beautiful yarns and patterns that inspire and motivate us to produce some beautiful works of art.
I guess the closest thing to a “plan” that I have is to make what brings me joy. I think I may try to make a few bigger projects…
I have a knitting list a mile long. I belong to a knitting and crochet group and today is our Christmas party. Right now I am making a seamless cardigan. I have plans to start your Meltage pattern soon. I need to do more socks, but fitting everything in around necessary chores is challenging. Have a happy holiday season!
Pam
*whispers, “sooooo pretty…” <3 <3 <3
Number one goal is to use up as much of my stash as possible. Lots of socks made with minis. Waiting for the Rain shawl as I want to try short row lace. Hopefully a couple of shawls for special friends.
Hello!
My plan for the new year is to finally make me something. I absolutely love yarn and have some everywhere in my house.
The giveaway hank colors are absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to work with them!
Thank you,
Victoria Payne
Such Gorgeous colours for the December giveaway, Chandi! Pick me please 😉
In 2021, I want to try the brioche stitch (thank you for the beginner set pattern) and more colourwork (think Fair isle or Saltwater mitts). Would also love to make myself one of your patterns – SO many to choose from! Love them all!
Thank you for curating another beautiful yarn giveaway Chandi! Love the shades of the buttery sport & oasis fingering especially! My yarny plans for 2023 will definitely include using the 3 skein hues fade kits which I recently ordered from Expression Fibre Arts for Christmas. Love those kits – EFA makes it so easy to find gorgeous yarn. The hard part for me is deciding what to make with a 3 skein fade? I’ll be starting with a fade shawl. 🧶
This year I got back into the habit of crocheting, I don’t know why I stopped but it is so calming. Next year I plan on making a project a month with your gorgeous yarns. I also plan on getting back to knitting. Thanks for your dedication of making great colors and for all the free pattern ideas!
I’m hoping to use up some of my stash so that I can make room for new yarns!
I plan to keep better track of my projects 🙂
No crafting goals only crafting Vibes. I have a couple of things ‘planned’ but those are vague plans and subject to change. Mostly I finish an object, stare deeply into my stash and my pattern library, and Wait for something to be Exciting.
So many beautiful colors! I’m trying to keep on…keeping on… crocheting as many shawls and ponchos as I have yarn… and hopefully my hubby will tell me “ok your stash is small enough now” LOL!!!!!
First I would just cuddle the hanks of luxury for a spell. A beautiful lacy top and a shawl two are in the future for these bundles of dreaminess.
I’m not a planner, but I do know I will continue to knit sweaters and socks for myself and my family, because that’s what I love to do. Always something on the needles!
My crafting plans include finishing projects I started LAST year and blocking projects that need to be blocked. I want to continue challenging myself with new techniques.
Thank you so much for another wonderful giveaway!
For the next year I plan to try my first sweater. It will be the creery sweater. And the other thing, that I plan to do is the sonder shawl for me.
I crochet blankets, shawls, hats and now am learning ear warmers. I have thoroughly enjoyed the new colors that come out every month and have had the honor to purchase a few skeins with a new pattern or 2. The patterns are very simple to follow and the skeins are absolutely beautiful. I have once again entered myself in your giveaway with my fingers crossed that I would be the lucky recipient of this gorgeous collection of fun. Fingers crossed 🙂
I don’t have any crafting plans yet but I do have some projects to finish up.
Crafting plans for the new year? More quilts, more socks, addressing some UFOs?
Such beautiful colors! I love the red! I have yet to complete a sweater that I have been working on. That is at the top of my list to finish – hopefully I will be able to wear it in January-Feb-March when it is REALLY cold in Ohio.
Shawls! I want to make shawls in the new year, and then I’ll see what else catches my attention.
I’m hoping to get through my WIPS and that will take me pretty much through the year, haha! If at all possible, I’d like to cast on more projects that I have waiting. And I’m sure I’ll end up trying a new craft or two.
Your yarns are always gorgeous and this bundle giveaway would be perfect for a beautiful fade project! Shawl, sweater…..hmmmm.
Such lovely, lush colours, as always! I haven’t as yet made any concrete plans for next year’s knitting – except I need new dishcloths, I want a few cropped cardigans and/or sweaters, one can never have too many woollen socks, there is now a man in my life, so maybe a men’s sweater? and probably more socks, and my son and DIL are hoping for a baby, so maybe some wee things will be needed. Hm, seems like I do have plans, after all …
Hi Chandi:
Such beautiful yarns, and so generous of you to give them away each month!
My plans for next year are to knit several shawls. They would be beautiful in these lovely yarns.
Have a wonderful holiday season, and best wishes for your health and happiness in 2023!
What will I work on next year? Oh dear, where do I start?? I have SOOO many of your beautiful patterns printed off, ready to go for the luscious stashes of yarn I’ve been collecting! Knitting, weaving, crocheting. I’ll be busy. Thank you for your wonderful yarns and positive attitude every day!
I have a ton of projects already waiting, with yarn in hand. It includes several sweaters and a couple tanks. I want to do a cable sweater for my son and a cardigan with pockets for my mom. I also want to do a couple temperature scarves for the last couple years as the weather has been so extreme and unusual, but not sure what I want that to look like yet. So I will be working mostly on my backlog of projects and less on MKALs since they seem to take up all my time, leaving no time for other projects. The year long MKAL Perseverance was the right speed for me…the other groups try to push too much in a short time period.
Next year I want to finally dive into sock knitting! Also, my first grandchild is due to be born in April so – lots and lots of baby things.
I am working on project ideas to get my yarn stash under control. I have purchased project bags and I’m planning on putting the yarn with the pattern in them.
Every year I challenge myself to learn a new technique. This coming year I would like to focus on making socks. My goal is to make a pair for Christmas presents for my three girls and their husbands. That should give me the opportunity to work on several different styles.
I am definitely going to marl these beauties for worsted sweaters.
There are so many things I want to make!!!! My goal for the upcoming year is to make a t-short style sweater and a cardigan. Of course, importing my skills in crochet continues is an ongoing goal. I am a beginner in this art form; moving to intermediate. SO MUCH TO LEARN and so little time. LOL
I’ll probably wing it as usual, but I am learning Tunisian now so that will be fun. But oh! the curl, how it irks me!
I would like to knit a sweater for my daughter since she is now appreciating beautiful things, shawls both large and small and I plan to knit more hats for charity donations. I also plan to knit and crochet some blankets in 2023!
Working on finishing section 12 of the EFA MKAL 2022 blanket and it is so beautiful. I enjoyed doing it, but found it frustrating waiting to get yarn for each section. Halfway through I ordered enough yarn in colors I liked for the remainder of the blanket.
There are so many things I want to knit or crochet – at least three shawls, a cowl or two, socks definitely, and three sweaters – and that’s just with yarn already in my stash! But there’s no such thing as too much yarn, and your yarns and patterns are gorgeous, so plans are always subject to change!
Chandi,
I live your yarn! The colors are amazing, quality is wonderful! A friend turned me on to your FB Page. I am glad she did!
My plan for next year’s crafting is to finish a few more of my WIPs! I would also love to try yarn spinning
I’m hoping to move back East…once I’m Al settled, I want to create my own zen space to relax, knit, and crochet. I want to master adding beads to knitted items!!
Ah! The lock down! To cope with it I started knitting socks. I stumbled on Expression Fiber Arts. For months I’ve wanted the yarn, solution was to have it shipped to Florida. From there it makes its way to Alberta. So worth the wait, so soft and silky, feels so wonderful to knit up. I do love all the patterns for shawls and one day I will tackle a shawl. Since January 2021 I think I’m up to 48 pairs of socks. Who knew luxury wool socks are the only socks that don’t cause blisters in combat boots.🤣 Some socks do make their way back to Florida to be in those combats boots.
Chandi thank you so much for your creativity and outstanding yarn.
Beautiful as always. Again my fingers are crossed and I hope I win. I am already thinking of all the amazing things I can knit or crochet with these yarns, and may even share a few with a fellow knitter. Thank you so much.
I want to figure out non mirrored double knitting so I can make scarves that read on both sides when the design has text.
My yarn plans are to practice my newly found knitting skills. I have so far been able to knit a couple basic hats and scarves, but would like to get to the easy sweater level. Of course I will continue my crocheting, as I absolutely love doing that. My goal for crocheting is to make a sweater or top that actually fits me properly. It is so difficult in my opinion. Thank you for the opportunity to win this gorgeous collection of yarn!!
So far, my list for the upcoming year includes: knitting my first pair of socks (I just picked knitting back up this year after learning the continental style!), knitting a swear, continue on repairing my grandmother’s granny square afghan (she made it when she was pregnant with my mom), crochet a new scarf pattern I just got and who knows what other items will work their way onto my list throughout the year! Thanks again for such an amazing giveaway! –Gwendy Rose from mid-MO
I’ve just started using fingering yarn and cant wait to see what I can do. I’m starting groups to teach knitting and crocheting at church. I love that your you tube videos are so user-friendly and will be sharing them with my groups. Have already sent your links to my grand daughter who is new at yarn crafts, and to my sister who has been crafting with yarn for 40 + years. Love your site and patterns. Just bought “water lily ” fingering for me for my birthday later this month.
I love Andrew’s post above because I don’t plan my crafting very well, but I’m always crafting. That means too many WIPs, so I think one goal is to complete those before starting a new project. But then Chandi posts a new pattern on Friday, and I have to give it a go!
Things that are on the list to make include: fingerless gloves for a friend, a blanket with sleeves for my mom, and baby gifts for a friend. I also just knitted myself a sweater and socks and I want MORE!
Next year I’m hoping to be more organized so I have more time for crafting. I cross-stitched Christmas stockings for my niece and nephew and would now like to do one for me and my husband.
I have two projects that I am going to finish. They are taking me a long time because I don’t have a lot of free time to work on them and they are complicated and large.
I just want to make all the things. My knitting & crochet, lets face it, my whole crafting mojo has taken a major hit the past couple of years. I just need to get back into it, but indecision may or may not be my middle name.
My plan is to set up a craft room, and learn how to spin! I also intend to get better at reading patterns. There are so many projects I want to make!
I would really like to do more weaving next year
Those are my colors! So beautiful and generous. In 2023 I want to learn to spin, learn to knit better, start hiking again, and learn seed bead work.
This year I spent all my knitting and Crocheting as gifts for others. (Baby blankets and layette sets, 3 regular sized blankets, a dozen dish towels and dishcloth sets, and a basket) For the new year I have a few projects I would like to make for myself. Does that sound selfish? I want to crochet a curtain valance for my kitchen, crochet a dress and finish knitting my first sweater ever. Of course when Christmas rolls around I will make some things but keep it more simple next year.
Thank you for such a beautiful giveaway Chandi. I always love the colors. Picking colors for my projects is not my Forte but you definitely have the gift.
MERRY 🎄 CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!
Working on slippers as a gift for a friend and her two young girls
2023 is going to be my year to really live in my craft room. In 2022 I set up the room with fresh paint and new shelving. Everything is in place to really enjoy my craft room and my basement. I plan on sharing the space with my daughter who has recently found a love for knitting. It has been a real joy watching this happen.
I’m hoping to use some of my crochet thread and make something I haven’t before. Also, baby blankets!!!
My goal is to finish WIPs so I can start new projects and make more socks for myself.
I plan to knit up some of my stash of cowl/shawl yarn–including several lovely skeins from EFA. And maybe a sweatr or two. That’s if my grandkids give me some breathing space between knitting blankets for new great-grandbabies!
WOOW amazing color. Natural and classy😍😍.
I would like to crochet more clothes and learn how to make sizes in different patterns in crochet.
I plan to continue to knit whatever takes my fancy while learning all I can about techniques, pattern design and color combos
My plans for next year’s projects…are to start earlier on Christmas gifts! Hah! I also plan to tackle a sweater, and some more advance techniques, now that I am reaching for the less boring. Practice practice, practice!
I have some angora lambswool in red with which I plan to make a short sleeved lace top. Also a woven intarsia vest out of merino silk blend. A baby owl for granddaughter out of a fur yarn.
I never really plan ahead but I have a few patterns that I’d like to try as I’ve become more skilled in knitting!
My goals for 2023 knitting include learning new skills and taking on more adventurous projects. Your Yarns are absolutely gorgeous, and I love all your instructional videos! And all of the wonderful patterns!
I want to knit and crochet all the things, with all the yarn!
🙂
Sincere seasonal greetings, Chandi! This year was devoted to making baby items for my sister’s three grandchildren and my best friend’s first grandchild. I also made four different sweaters and just started my first shawl (Nautile) for my 89 year old mom. She is going to be so excited to see it when see opens her Christmas present! She was the one who taught all five of us girls to knit but I am the only one to embrace the craft and love the softness of the yarn. Every time I show her something I am working on or ask for her advice, she makes a comment about how she wishes it was “big” enough for her. I recently shared the shawl results with my very crafty sister, and she said a shawl is just what she needs up In The cold winters of South Dakota, so, a shawl for her will be on the list of projects for 2023. We will be workkamping in Upper Michigan, right along Lake Huron where the icy winds blow, so I will be adding a-man approved beanie hat for my husband to my list of projects. I am also considering a buttery yarn knit blanket for the motor home in navy and cream. Thank you for brightening my life with all you do.
Such gorgeous yarn. I’ve been in a knitting slump and I’m really hoping to get back into knitting some beautiful shawls with beads and maybe a cardigan this year as well.
My plans are not to be afraid to try…experiment…learn. It is just yarn. Yarn is waiting to be used. I want to feel and know my growth as a fiber artist next year.
I would love to crochet a sweater this next year. I’ve not made one yet, but would love to try. I love your yarns, they all look so scrumptious with gorgeous colors!
I want to make a heavily cabled cardigan, a brioche blanket, and maybe a couple of stockings if I have time left in the year. 🙂
I really want this next year to be a year of learning new things. I tried resin this last year and LOVED it but quickly developed an allergy to it. I need to get carpal tunnel surgery so I can continue to crochet, but I’d love to learn knitting. I’d also like to try my hand at some form of painting or drawing.
In 2023 I plan to make a queen-size mosaic crochet bedspread for myself and a full-size Celtic crochet blanket for my daughter. I would like to make at least two cardigans for myself and finally try to make a gorgeous Chanel knit coat I saw a few years ago on the runway. My most ambitious project is to create and write a pattern for a shawl or wrap that I’ve had in mind inspired by the mountains where I live in Tennessee. Thank you for the newsletters and quotes I get in my inbox every week!
Besides finishing all my WIPs I am going to make a scarf in Mosaic crochet using some of your yarns. I am also going to start many more projects using your yarns.
I’m trying to get things back to normal after losing everything in the storm. Crafting is important to me, but money has to be spent on just daily living. If and when I can get stable with that then I’ll be back to crafting and that’s crocheting, wire work, and beading for me. My family and I are breathing so I can’t complain about losing anything. Blessings
I’d really like to get all my WIPs done next year!
I plan to finish up some shawls that have been hibernating too long!
Same as every year: craft craft craft! I have a ROOM full of yarn that is not going to crochet itself!
Your inspirations always hit close to my heart! They are so uplifting.
In 2023 I am looking nervously toward knitting my first pair of socks. I have had this desire for quite a while and your yarn calls me to making them every time I see all of the beauties you create. Unbelievable colours!
My time is busy with crocheting and mixed-media painting. There is always room to expand my interests, but knitting socks is a must for 2023!
Thank you for this opportunity to win some of your outstanding yarn.
I typically try to learn 1-2 new things for every new project I knit and I will continue to do that in the coming year. It keeps things interesting without overwhelming me with EVERYTHING being new lol! Top of my list – I want to brave my first sweater and brioche – then we’ll see where I go from there. Pretty much, as long as I’m knitting, I feel happy. So I’ll keep that up 🙂 Happy Holidays! Thanks for the chance to win!
2023 is going to be my stash-busting year, so lots of projects are in the works (both knit and crochet, large and small). Four projects at the top of my list is to make a shawl for each season. Can’t wait 🥰
Happy Holidays Chandi! Thank you so much for all your kindness and generosity. I’m planning on going thru all my yarn and making things. I also want to make my son a pair of socks.. I’ve only made socks once so it will be a challenge. I wish you and your family an amazing holiday and wonderful new year.
I’m going to finish the cardigan I’m knitting for my 20-something kid, finish the Pretty with Jeans cardigan for myself, finish the hats I’ve got going for myself and the oldest kid, and cast on at *least* five more projects. Don’t know what yet–I’m sitting here staring at my yarn and contemplating.
Hi!! I want to share I found a great planner system that works for all my crafting sources. I am in the mist of still organizing it all into manageable sections to follow along items I have yet to finish or start and it is going so well. Next year I want to try my hand at creating a blanket and perhaps your shawl Noel which I have the pattern for already, I’m also considering restarting my knitting adventure tho I honestly have a hard time sticking to it. Most of all I’m going to try to challenge myself to finish the projects I start with in a reasonable time frame. I am a mom to 4 kids but I love crocheting and would love to share my skills with my girls as they grow. I love reading the emails you send with new items to look at. Best wishes to everyone in the new year!
As usual the holidays thew me way off track! My plans for 2023….finish WIPs!!! I have way too many, again😚
My hope for the new year is to use up some of my stash…this is very hard to achieve as I am all too often tempted to buy more of your beautiful yarn! I’ll put my best foot forward…I do have a new grandbaby coming in March, so I will be very busy! Happy Holidays!
For crochet, I’m planning to finish a chinese new year amigurumi collection. I’m just a beginner when it comes to knitting so, in 2023, I’d like to start my first knit sweater. Hopefully, I’ll be able to do the faie sweater. I’ve never tried to make gloves so I’d like to try that too.
My plan is to keep making the projects I already have the yarn caked up for 😁
In the coming year I hope to finish my current 2 WIPs (a shawl and a shrug from yarn my daughter gave me for my birthday) and find and start a cowl and hat for lovely soft yarn in my stash.
Scrumptious yarn!!
I’d like to make more socks, trying different patterns. I also want to use up the bits & bobs of yarn for a shawl, fingerless mitts, cowls, hats. Oh, yes, the 2 pullovers + 1 cardigan to finish up. …sigh… I’m sure I have enough leftovers, meaning I’ll have room for MORE!
I need more hands + hours in a day to make allll I want!
Thanks for a peek at the yumminess, soooo good!
I would love to knit a baby blanket for my daughter next year because her daughter keep asking for baby brother or sister! 😉
I’m planning to knit some special things for my 3 year old – time is flying by and I’ve hardly knit her anything.
I am hoping by the time this year is out I will have finished my wips which I have going at the moment. then to start the new year I am planning on doing a squares from a knitting book which i bought. A different square every week with random colours from my stash and at the end of the year i will be making it into a blanket. I am not sure what else to make but have a list of different items from shawls to jumpers which hopefully i can do as well
I have a few kits I hope to get finished next year, but I don’t usually give much thought to what I want to do next until I’ve finished whatever I’m currently working on.
I seem to be on a blanket kick, so will probably continue that as well as knit more shawls. The smaller canvas allows me to knit even more items! 🙂
I’m attempting to knit a cowl and some socks. I’m just beginning knitting so it’s a bit slow going but I’m enjoying the process very much!
I really need to work on long unfinished WIPs – my husband’s sweater, the warp on the loom.
I have a lot of started projects that I would like to complete. New and fun patterns just catch my eye too easily!
I want to take classes and get much better at spinning wool/fiber. Also, I was given a tabletop loom, so I want to learn to weave.
Next year I just want to keep being able to craft! Several years ago I began experiencing RA symptoms in my hands, and due to complications from EDS (hypermobility disorder), I thought I’d never be able to again. Thanks to occupational and physical therapy, though, I CAN!! It’s wonderful!! So I just want to keep doing what I’m doing.
I’ll be making a huge assortment of mandalas to decorate my son’s wedding!
I am hoping to get busy and work up all the patterns and beautiful yarn I have in my stash – so that I can get more!!
The colours are amazing
I hope to finish about five open projects, a cardigan, a sweater, a mandala vest, a couple of toys and so much more. Ideas keep coming, not enough time, not enough yarn 😄
I want to make an elf coat
WOW, some spectacular colors, especially the black! I intend to USE DOWN MY STASH so I can legitimately say I NEED more Expression Fiber Arts YARN!! I want to knit socks too. I crochet and I just really like the look of Knitted socks better. Have a spectacular Holiday Season Chandi!
You create the most delicious colorways, Chandi! And I love your patterns – thank you for introducing them for free. I started an Etsy shop for my finished goods and am planning to use some of your yarns on shawls to put in my shop. I want to improve my knitting skills and expand my crochet skills to include sweaters. Thank you for your generosity to the fiber community! Have a wonderful holiday season and a fabulous new year!
I’d like to learn to knit, and actually complete a couple of the crochet projects I’ve got going!
Love the colors again this month!
I’m hoping to get another top or cardigan done in the beginning of the year and then I probably won’t have much time to knit when my third baby arrives in June!
I’m also planning to let go of a lot of inherited yarn that I don’t want to work with and mostly just feel guilty about. No need to keep that stress!
I am planning on getting better at socks and have shawl project in the works!
My plans for crafting include all the gifts I planned to make this year and did not get to them.
Chandi,. Beautiful yarn as always🤗🤗🤗My knitting goals for 2023 include knitting from stash and knitting garments. I have so many sweater quantities of yarn that i absolutely love and have yet to use because they are either fingering or sport weight, and although I love knitting in those weights I have yet to knit a garment in either, so hopefully 2023 is the year I get over the intimidation factor. Silly mind games we play, I’ve knit 3 skein fingering weight shawls no problem, but the thought of a garmet…….
My
birthday is Christmas eve and a box of yarn would be a great surprise for lots of next year knitting!
My plan is to try and get my crojo back. I think I got burned out while working on a massive afghan for the past year plus, so I might just cruise pretty patterns until I see something that gets me excited again.
Hi Chandi! I’ll be working on a few prayer shawls, hand-quilting a few quilts, and maybe even knit a top or two for myself. There’s a beautiful cross-stitch of two swans I’d like to complete as well.
I’m loving this month’s color palette!
Merry Christmas to you and the EFA staff!
I plan to try out new hat patterns and learn to crochet!
My plan includes my first a shawl collar cardigan and a two-color brioche cable sweater so far.
Next year? Knit up as much of my stash as possible. That way I have room for more (prettier) yarn!
I love your content so much and enjoy watching you explain the patterns you’re sharing. I plan to crochet 2 temperature blankets. I’ve never made one before and planned to make one just for me for 2023. Then I had a dream about giving one to my sister for her birthday based on her birth year. I saw the colours for it and everything. It bolted me awake at 1:30 in the morning and I quickly jotted down the plan to be sure I would remember it in the morning! I’m also working on building up project pieces to start my own store. I love crocheting too much to keep everything for myself!
Hi! OMG, you just want to hug this beautiful yarn! I don’t have any precise plan. I just go along with the flow. If I see something I like I try to make it. That’s it!
I want to make some socks that FIT! I also want to start memory quilts for my kids. We have traveled so many places in their few short years and I want to give them something tangible to hold.
What I’d like to do in the upcoming year is to finish some WIPs and start some new ones!
Your colors this month are awesome. I couldn’t have pick a better grouping. Cud I be so lucky?
Oh my! Could, could, could……..! LOL
Your color choices are awesome. I could not have picked better colors. Could I be so lucky this month?
Next year I plan to learn knitting.
Beautiful choices of colors.
My goal for 2023 is to finish some older unfinished projects, both crochet and quilting.
So pretty. I need more neutrals and the multi-color skeins are beautiful!
My goal for 2023 is to finish the WIP stash that’s been accumulating for a year or so. I am also debating learning to knit to add to the options for the fiber stash.
Beautiful colors! In 2023 I want to learn how to knit socks and gloves.
I am not really a planner. I wait and see which yarns or patterns inspire me.
I would like to organize all my yarn, patterns, etc. I took care of my parents between June 2021-September 2022. Now that they are together in heaven, together 69 years & married for 64, I hope to focus on knitting and crafting.
The colors for the giveaway are luscious!
My main crafting plan is to try, once again, to learn how to knit. I’ve tried a few times over the years. I have a kids “how to knit” book, my sister-in-law tried to teach me, and I even took a class. It never seemed to stick so I’ve stuck to crocheting. I came across your video on continental knitting and decided to give knitting another try under your tutelage.
Gorgeous skeins!!!
I plan to be a little more frugal with my yarn buying in the coming year, I have accumulated quite a stash🙈.
Hopefully the coming year will be filled with me crocheting/knitting gorgeous shawls capes and scarves. I plan to also start crocheting summer dresses for my little girl.
I plan to make the Harmony Shrug, in purple, I was gifted the wool! My shawl out of “the lights are turned down low” but I’m wondering if I want to put a solid blue with it. The Katherine Hepburn sweater in olive cashmere for my daughter and oh! So much more!
For next year I plan to make a shawl with one of your patterns. I also plan to finish the point horizon shirt I started a few months ago.
My 2023 crafting plan is to just keep making beautiful pieces, whether as gifts or keepers. I love exploring for different bases and patterns to create a one of a kind handmade piece.
Sock and sweater knitting in 2023! Thank you Chandi. Have a fabulous holiday season.
Plans….. don’t really have any. I just knit and crochet what strikes my fancy.
1. blanket for a new wee niece or nephew coming this spring
2. finish the toes and heels on all the sock tubes languishing in my knits bin
3. get my big shawl out of time-out and sort out what kind of colossal error I made and get that finished
4. start (realistically, won’t get it finished) my first adult-sized sweater for myself
I plan on making a top down sweater….. for MYSELF. Always knit for others, well I plan on finally knitting for myself lol
Oh those are my colors! Beautiful as always! My 2023 plans are learning mittens / gloves, my first bottom up sweater, and perfecting my colorwork tension. Also, continuing to experiment with color combinations and holding different yarns together to make custom one of a kind colors and pieces! Thank you!
Hello,
I plan to learn to knit better (no thinking please), learn a couple more knitting techniques (cabling and color work) and crochet.
I just want to craft MORE!! Work has taken so much of my time lately, that I want to be able to actually sit down and plan out some activities and then actually be able to complete them!
My plan for the upcoming year is to finish a few projects (I have 7 going) and start some more. I want to learn to spin and use my loom and finish jumping through the hoops to be a certified professional midwife. 🙂
I’m going to work on some sweaters for myself and my kids. And Sock Madness starts in March! So lots more socks for next year too.
My craft goals include blankets, shawls, amigurumi, and wreaths/ household items.
I love the colors! I’m working on the orchid shawl for my nieces wedding on January 7, 2023. I have a baby blanket to make also for January. I am going to making crocheting kitchen towel tops and wash cloths. The rest of 2023 is net yet planned but I have a ton of yarn I’m sure I’ll find something to do.
I need to finish my MKAL and MCAL lol. 😬
My crafting goals for the upcoming year are to knit up my first shawl, crochet my first sweater, learn Tunisian crochet and continue creating crochet Christmas decorations.
I am a first responder and don’t have a lot of time for crafting but knitting is my therapy. I can’t do much but I love the finished product. My goal is to knit 3 times a week, even if I only have a few minutes.
To make it, not just collect the supplies! I’ve made a few beautiful things this year but my WiP pile grew faster.
Your yarns are so amazing, there is none that i do not fall in love and want.
Thank you for making and offering some of the most beautiful and finest yarns.
I have knitted a few items with your yarns, I cherish them.
Thank you,
Silvia Portillo
Oh Chandi…. Oh I still love these colors and just think of all the things that we could do… Since I have a new man in my life, that’s a few projects I wanna work on for him and my daughter who is starting her first job in a couple weeks and my son, who still lives at home… I also want to do a few projects for myself lately an Afghan, and a shawl in a few birthday presents for other people like my mom and my great niece…
Make a significant dent into my ‘to-make crochet projects’ list so I can tackle learning how to knit… and have twice as many projects in my to-make list 🙂
My crafting plans include knitting for charity as I do every year, and knitting gifts for Christmas!😊🧶
My crafting plans are to just take it day by day and follow where my heart leads me. 🙂
This next year I am planning to finish the wip shawls and scarves and socks that I’ve started!
I intend to continue knitting over the next year — I promised my oldest daughter a sweater because the office where she works gets chilly, so that will probably be the first project I tackle after finishing my current WIPs. May try learning brioche knitting, as that is one technique I don’t know. In terms of other crafts, I sew, mostly medieval and Renaissance gowns with authenticated patterns, and I’m working on a set for my two daughters and myself that I hope to finish this year.
I learned to crochet over 40 years ago and really enjoy making items for others. I have tried many times through the years to learn how to knit but just couldn’t get the hang of it. I have watched some of Chandi’s ‘How to Knit – Beginner Lessons’ and plan to give knitting another try. I do believe I’ll get the hang of it this time
They look DE-LUCIOUS ! ! ! I love receiving your emails because your pure joy brings light and love to me. Thank you for all your efforts.
Im planning some intarsia work for the first time. Beyond that i just want to actually finish a few half done sewing and embroidery projects before the end of 2023.
I plan to FINALLY finish the scarf I’ve been working on, continue learning how to crochet, and maybe transfer that skill over to my knitting to knit continental style and maybe speed up! It would also be nice to better learn how to fix my knitting mistakes and to just take the plunge and try some harder designs I’ve been eyeing.
I don’t really plan ahead very much – I imagine there will be socks (since I mostly knit those), and I’m hoping to do another sweater for myself sometime soon.
I’m planning my first attempt at crocheting a sweater, teaching beginner crochet classes, lots of decorative planning and creative journaling!
This year I plan on finishing a couple of projects I already have started and try to make a sweater. Thank you for the opportunity to enter your yarn giveaway. The yarn is absolutely beautiful.
Must finish some WIPs! So many WIPS!
In 2023 I plan to use up all the lovely yarn I’ve got stashed under the bed. 😁 Beautiful cllours in the giveaway and even one in next year’s colour Magenta. Perfect. 😍
I absolutely love these yarns! My favorite is dewy DK for sure. The patterns and yarns areboth wonderful quality! I am so thankful I found them!
I’d like to make more fingerless mits in the upcoming year. And, of course, one can’t have too many shawls.
Plan for 2023. Make some EFA projects using EFA yarns purchased this year. Finally learn to knit socks! And try to reduce older and scrappy yarns.
Hoping to get together with my “not daughter in law” (son’s girlfriend) who attempted to learn to knit during COVID and do some knitting. She lives 2 hours away and we have conflicting schedules. We’ll see.
This year I want to crochet more. It makes me happy, and content. I picked out two or your summer top patterns to crochet next. Thank you for giving us so many wonderful patterns, and the fantastic yarn giveaways! Congratulations to last month’s winner!
My goal is to finish the projects I have started before starting all the projects that I have stashed. Last year I added knitting to my yarn crafting tool box and I want to continue to grow that skill and find new challenges in crochet. I want to learn and perfect garment making for my grandbabies.
I typically just tell myself I’m going to work on or finish my WIPS. I did order enough yarn for a temperature granny square blanket, so that’s on the plate for the new year. Other than that, I’m not sure.
I am hoping to get my craft room into some sort of order so I can find things. We have had a big change-around and everything is still in a mess and now it’s Christmas. I am going to try and finish all the half-done things in my room. I know there is a Gansey jersey in there somewhere and I really want to find that and finish it!!!
Crafting plans? I’m supposed to plan? LOL My “plan” is to start using all the yarn stash I’ve got stockpiled, starting with the EFA yarns that are so soft and squishy they are calling me every time I walk in my very full craft room.
A sweater for myself and baby blankets. Beautiful December yarn!
I hope to get your hat pattern completed. Waiting for the yarn that was on pre-sale. It was meant to be as its being released on my birthday 12-16.
So many of my favorite colors. Beautiful as always. I have more things I want to knit than time will ever allow.
Next year I’ll try tackling sizing my knitting. I see lots of swatches in my future!
I’ll probably first finish the things I didn’t get done in time for Xmas presents 🙂
Also want to think of something to make with your gorgeous yarn for myself since so far I’ve only made stuff with it to give away…
Wow! How in the world do you read through all these? Everyone has so many great ideas for next year! All that beautiful yarn looks so scrumptious, I just want to squeeze it all in my arms!(then tell my hubby I’m going on vacation with all my yarn!🤣🤣) A yarn vacation sounds wonderful to me!! Tis’ the reason we are subscribed to Chandi, for that little bit of time out every day!
Wow! How in the world do you read through all these? Everyone has so many great ideas for next year! Tis’ the reason we are subscribed to Chandi, for that little bit of time out every day! A sweater for me next year. No more blankets, hats & scarfs, or shawls. Just a nice go to sweater.
This coming year I hope to finish a shawl, a first sweater and socks. Soooo exciting. You give me so many good ideas. Thank you!
Such beautiful yarn. I plan to expand my skills, be daring and unafraid. I will learn new techniques that I have been shying away from. Tunisian crochet is on that list.
Hello EFA! My plans for the coming year are to use your learn to brioche series to finally take the steps to learn brioche! I love the patterns and tutorials so far, but I have to finish gift knitting first!
My plan for next year is to finish the WIPs I started this year. Maybe I’ll start something new, but I want to finish the others first.
In the new year, I am going to work on my spinning and hopefully spin enough yarn for a sweater. I also want to try mosaic knitting and Portuguese knitting.Lisa
I’ve been slowly working on bigger projects when I’m able, so I’m planning to crochet more wearables to enjoy throughout the year..
There are a few sweaters in my Ravelry queue that I’m anxious to make for me and my family. My goal is to use as much stash yarn as possible in 2023 (including a few from EFA!).
Well I’ve had great difficulty crocheting or trying to follow knitting tutorials due to living in pain. But, I have since found a herbal ointment ( like a deodorant stick type) that I’m hoping will help my hands. Just wondering now what’s worse, medical gloves so this doesn’t get on the yarns or the rubber gloves slowing the process down? But this is supposed to be relaxing right? I’m hoping to self teach myself knitting next year and than strength the basic skill with scarfs, scrubbier than ….? Merry Christmas
I’m planning on knitting a sweater–if I can find one I really like. Also, going to start my gift knitting far earlier than I did this year and stash-bust.
Every year I swear I’m going on a yarn diet and knitting and crocheting through my stash, and every year some yarn sales get me. Soon I will be buried alive in yarn.
I really want to learn how to knit my first sweater and a lace weight shawl I’ve been sitting on the yarn forever for.
My crafting plans for next year include learning to clean, card and spin wool, and teaching myself to knit. I love your yarns and I already crochet so just continuing to expand my fiber hobbies!
Next year i’m going to..
Do little more knitting..
I am planning to knit more garments. Especially for my daughter who already request for a sweater and my niece too. I hope I can make it .
And those beautiful yarns Are so gorgeous. Happy holidays Candi.
My plan is to improve my knitting skills and try out new projects that I haven’t had the confidence to attempt as yet!
My first plan is to get some projects off needles – starting with two gifts to finish this month. After completing the MKAL I’m looking forward to the Brioche along in January – that will be a new skill to learn. I’m starting with 2 shawls that are over halfway done and a top I need to frog and redo. I really want to use up as much stash yarn as possible. My holiday project is to match stash yarn to patterns and set up the projects in Ravelry so I don’t loose my ideas. I have yarn and patterns set up for 2 pairs of socks, a cardigan, and several shawls so I’m starting with those. I also want to get my first pattern added to Ravelry! I need to do another test knit in different yarn and then get some test knitters.
Yet another gorgeous and very generous giveaway, Chandi❤. Next year I plan to be more of a selfish knitter/crocheter; to make what I feel like rather than what other people ask me to make. I have so many designs in my head and I am itching to make them for myself.
I. Have. So. Many. Plans! 😂 1st up is to clean and reorganize my craft room. Then I’m going to work on finishing all my knitting UFOs many of which are very overdue gifts. After that Im going to get back into sewing, jewelry making, crocheting, cooking and baking, gardening, learn some new skillz… Y’all get the idea. 😂
Next year, I want to knit in the round (I’m afraid of doing so) and buy beautiful yarn to do shirt, and all kind od wearables things for myself. and my loved ones!!! Thank you for all the beautiful patterns they are so well made .
So many projects I’d like to do in 2023! For starters though, I’ll be joining the BAL! I’ve also got a couple of projects that I need to finish…Montastraea and World Tour!
I want to learn new stitches and toe-up socks.
Hello!! My knitting plans for 2023 include knitting my first sweater, my first pair of socks, and some gifts BEFORE it next Christmas! My crochet plans include some amigarumi toys for two sweet babies, and a new cozy Christmas blanket for me! Wish me luck!
This year is my year for yoked color work sweaters!
I started to crochet for my mental health. The pandemic affected me badly but I was lucky to have coaches and mental health experts that brought me to a therapeutic craft. I appreciate colors and texture in a way that I have never before.
I would like to start granny squares project… dreaming about it for a long time.
So many things! Sweaters to knit, books to bind, beading to learn. 🙂
The only plans I have for next year is to learn how to knit. I crochet and when I see a pattern that I love I will get the yarn and then make it. I love your yarn it is beautiful. Hope I win. Thanks for the giveaway.
I’m hoping to keep learning new things in 2023. I’m thinking of trying to knit a sweater or cardigan and trying my hand at making a pair of socks.
I plan on a couple sweaters and blankets and baby clothes for my wee one(:
I’m planning to work on more projects that are only in idea form so far, especially for my son. Thank you for another generous and gorgeous giveaway! Happy holidays!
I am planning on knitting monster pants for a friend
Goals for 2023 – learn to make socks, learn brioche, make a sweater
My yarn goals this year: start my knitting journey (I really want to make the square peg socks 😁), finish sweaters and hats and shawls and scarves for my loving family.
Currently eyeballing more bamboo alpaca in the lovely green.
I want to try 2 at a time socks and I have to knit a vest for my youngest…he might leave it on then. He is only 2.
My goal is to write down and publish my first pattern. Also, to stick to making the patterns I’ve collected. So many gorgeous patterns, and I want to actually make them. I’m mainly a hooker, but I’d really like to learn continental knitting. A lot I think, but really I just want to make all the things!
My plan for the coming year is to make as many gifts as possible for charity while making loved ones who are ill and suffering comforting gifts as well. Wishing everyone a blessed new year!
I’d love to learn how to weave in a rigid heddle loom. Happy Holidays!!
Hi Chandi! So many plans! Sweaters, socks, hats to donate and my very first cardigan… and whatever else my yarn shouts out to become. And of course I have to make time for when amazing patterns present themselves ❤️ Merry Christmas beautiful soul⛄️
I plan to clear out the clutter in my little art studio so I can find things and enjoy the space again. I plan on working through knitting projects I have planned with EFA patterns, read more books and continue on with my sketching and painting classes! Happy Holidays to everyone! ♥️🎄
My plan for next year is to increase the numbers on the projects I am still tackling. I crochet slippers for the annual pj drive my old office participates in with the United Way. I also do beanies for preemies for the childrens hospitals in Winnipeg and Brandon, as well as hats for kids that are in the hospital and have lost their hair because of what they are suffering with. I am doing hats for a school in St Adolphe and Skye. I also do scarves for the homeless in Winnipeg. And when I am able to find time for myself I take orders from friends for what they need me to make. I also do afgans and rugs.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all
And thank you for adding me in to the draw
Looking to make some more socks and shawls.
What are MY crafting plans for the next year?
WEAVING, WEAVING, WEAVING, WEAVING using all the gorgeous “pretties” of yarn that I have been collecting over the years.
Learning about WEAVING on a Rigid Heddle Loom using my collection of pretties.
Collecting more “pretties”? Not in 2023!
Happy Holidays Everyone!
Hi Chandi, I just love you! I’m relatively new here, have been knitting and crocheting for years. I love your patterns and appreciate that you make some free. I have no definitive plans for next year…like many others it’s when the mood strikes me. Just finishing up the Nuverandi and it looks fabulous!
im a workaholic so my goals for the next year are to take the time to knit and crochet more, and to make a rope bag.
Knitting all the things! And maybe breaking out that sewing machine.
Love these colors and I love, love ❤️ your yarn!
I have a must-make list for 2022 and what I didn’t get made moves to next year as a priority. I’m also going to make my first knitting project and focus on knitting.
hey Chandi,
i started this year with my forgotten projects …. and i discovered the knitting after a long time ….my plan for the new year is to work with my beautiful new yarns i found ..waiting for my order from your shop because i have never found such interesting mix of yarns and colors as with you.. i am really impressed and and i will try everything what life can be..
In any case, I will continue to work on scarves and stoles and ponchos in their variety and test patterns and colors for their effect.
So I will definitely follow your new ideas and experiences.
Have a wonderful Christmas time – greetings from Germany
Hi Christel,
thank you for your sweet message. I’m glad you discovered knitting again and are enjoying our yarns and other products so much!
Happy Holidays to you as well! 💕
I intend to use up some yarn in my stash to make a blanket.
Happy Holidays to everyone! My only plans are getting back into knitting and crocheting again. I have been spinning most of this year and now I am going through all my wip’s to see what I will finish or frog. 😊
I have so many ideas and patterns that I’ve already purchased, I will need a generator of random numbers to know what my next project (according to my Ravelry queue) will be 😄
I’m going to order a loom on Boxing Day and learn how to weave on it. I’m super excited about it.
My crafting plans for next year is to learn to weave.
I’ve only started crocheting a few months ago. My immediate goal in the next few months is to finish the noel shawl pattern that you have posted…I’ve frogged and restarted so many times! I also plan to learn to knit in the upcoming year.
I’m going to learn to read charts next year!
2022 was a moderately successful stash buster year. The year long MKAL and MCAL helped but all the projects in between clues was even better. I’m hoping to concentrate more on projects I already committed pattern with yarn. I have so many and need to work on them. Your yarn and patterns still lure me to buy, and I just love them best.
I’ve recently gotten into knitting, so I’m looking forward to exploring the craft. I have experience with crochet, but all I’ve knitted so far has been a plain sweater with worsted weight yarn, so I really want to explore new projects and textures. I do think I will attempt some socks next, which I have been a bit intimidated by, so I’m excited for the challenge!
I want to continue to learn new knitting techniques and stitches. And try new fibers!
My goal this year is to make the best of everyday because tomorrow is never promised. We are expecting our first son so all the baby boy cute handmade goodies. I need to finish some efa projects that I started for myself. I thank God for everyday and every breath. Merry Christmas everyone!
I want to be able to finish knitting a blanket. I have started different sized blankets, but have never finished any of them
My Christmas cast on is a scrappy blanket that will definitely be worked on most of, if not all, next year. I would also like to make a pullover or a cardigan sometime next year. Still hoping for the ability to buy more tools and yarn.
I plan to try some color work for the first time as well as brioche.
My knitting goal for 2023 is to continue to knit for my grandchildren and various charities. I mostly knit blankets, hats, mitts, scarves and shawls. I try to end each day with some quiet knitting time.
So incredibly generous of you! Next year I will spend more time crafting for myself. Selfish knitting is the goal for 2023.
I plan to crochet and knit, knit my shawls , scarfs, baby blankets. i enjoy knitting for others also.joy
Hoping to be brave enough to try knitting up a couple of the full sleeves, full length body sweater patterns I’ve collected & finally *hopefully* have enough yarn for!💖
I’m planning to knit socks, mittens, hats and at least 1 sweater.
Thanks for making such lovely yarn!
