Hello, my dazzling diamond! I have a lovely half-pi shawl for you this week, and I hope you’ll read on to learn more!
Euclidias was designed by Cari Jehlik. When asked about her debut design, Cari said, “Named in honor of mathematician Euclid, the shawl Euclidias features a mathematical half-pi construction with drop stitch rows. The color changes provide interest to the basic shape and design. This large shawl will surely envelop you in warmth and love.”
“Its design intentionally works with a variety of yarn bases, weights, and needle sizes. The sizing is entirely customizable, too. Want it smaller? Stop sooner. Want it larger? Continue in the established pattern until you’re sufficiently enveloped. Knitters will get to work with drop stitches and yarn over increases. The simple color changes produce such a stunning result.”
Euclidias is made with our Twisted Tweed yarn. This yarn is a wonderfully soft and bouncy sport weight yarn. This unique fiber blend includes two types of wool that are twisted together. Because they take the dye differently, the result is a cool, barber pole effect with gold, plum, and brown Donegal Tweed neps flecked throughout. Twisted Tweed is a blend of 43% Superwash Merino Wool, 42% Fine Merino Wool, and 15% Donegal.
Our sample shawl was made with our Blaze Hues kit. The sample shown used approximately 1176 yds (1076 m) total – Color A: 227 yds (208 m), Color B: 304 yds (278 m), Color C: 342 yds (313 m), and Color D: 303 yds (277 m).Â
The pattern contains written instructions only. Download Euclidias today. Comment below, and let me know what you think of this beautiful shawl!

Hi! I was wondering if the vid for Euclicias is supposed to have an audio track from Chandi talking about the vid and showing us any quicks and foibles about the pattern (which is very, very pretty indeed!).
I couldn’t find the video until I searched for it under its name, and there it was, but without the audio.
I just thought I’d send a note over your way…Please have a most excellent day!
We did not film a tutorial video for the Euclidias shawl, so the video short with just music is all there is for this pattern. Hope that helps to clear things up.
I love this shawl!!!
Hope you will do a video tutorial for Euclid’s shawl soon 🙂 Thanks!
Hi Leticia, so glad that you like the Euclidias shawl so much. Unfortunately, we currently don’t have a tutorial planned for this pattern. I’m very sorry about that but I will add your wish to our suggestion list.
Have a wonderful day! 💕
Monica, thank you for explaining everything! I hope you’ve had a lovely Thanksgiving Day! Best Regards, Gayle C.
I just started this shawl and I’m confused about the row count (though I’m sure I’m missing something simple 😆)
In the pattern notes it says “the number of rows to be worked corresponds directly with the number of stitches that were increased in the previous row. So if three yarnovers were added, then three rows are worked before the next increase.”
But in the pattern, the sections all seem to be 2 rows short. In section 5, the first row has 24 Yos, but only 22 rows. If I want to make the shawl larger, which instruction should I follow?
I’m really excited to add this piece to my wardrobe!
Hi Elizabeth, thank you ofr your message. I will reach out to the designer Cari and check in with her about that. I’ll be in touch. Have a nice day! – Johanna 💕
