Hello, my sweet sunbeam! This week, I have a fun treat to share with you. Shifting Sands is perfect for summer, and I hope you’ll read on to learn more!

Shifting Sands was designed by me, Chandi Agee. Shifting Sands was designed to be a lovely, flowing wrap to wear on all your beachy adventures. It is made with our Luster Sport yarn. The pattern is a simple eight-row repeat and can be customized to fit your body. The wrap features beads and drop stitches for additional interest. Shifting Sands can be styled multiple ways and is perfect for wearing poolside as a swimsuit coverup or just lounging around the house with an iced drink in your hand.

Shifting Sands is an Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate level pattern. It is for those knitters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Skills include center double decreases, knitting through the back loop, purling through the back loop, mid-row knitted cast-on, and placing beads with a small diameter crochet hook, if desired. Our Luster Sport yarn is a fantastic choice for this delightful design. It is a soft and silky blend of 50% Lyocell and 50% Superwash Merino Wool. It’s a beautifully shimmering and soft, sport weight yarn with a squish factor that is sure to please!

Shifting Sands measures 62” x 34” (158 cm x 87 cm), but the size is customizable. The sample shown used approximately 1052 yards (962 m) total: Color A: 352 yards (322 m) and Color B-Color F: 140 yards (128 m) each color.

The sample is shown in our Coastal Hues Luster Sport kit.

We made a video demonstrating how to make this pattern, add the beads, and seam the panels. I’ll be showing a mini version. Take a look!
