Hello, my sweet! Today, we are releasing our seventh clue for our yearlong Mystery Knit Along blanket. Read on to learn more and to find out how you can still be a part of the fun!
Perseverance was designed by Jane Vanselous. She says, “Large projects can seem daunting, especially when they may stretch your skills. Breaking them up into manageable pieces is a great way to approach them. In this Mystery KAL blanket, you will work just one section at a time. Each section uses one color and focuses on one stitch pattern. Some of these will be repeated in later sections. Using this method, all you will need is a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a little perseverance to be successful!”
This pattern is an Adventurous Beginner level pattern and is for those knitters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations.
Perseverance is made with 12 skeins of our Enduring Worsted or Luster Worsted yarn. We will have two color options for each month – a cool color and a warm color.
For July, the cool color is Like Rain, and the warm color is Leaves. However, you can make your blanket with any colors you choose. Please note, swatching is important to ensure that your blanket edges are even and that you have enough yardage to complete your monthly section, as you should only need one skein per clue.
Every month, we will release a new clue for the pattern, so all you have to do is sign in and re-download the pattern each month when a new clue is released.
We filmed a video about Clue #7. Take a look:
With this pattern, we will also be having a yearlong contest with prizes! It will be hosted solely on Ravelry.

Talk to ya soon.

Please make sure the yarn is available before the pattern is released so we can start right away instead of having to wait another month before the yarn arrives. This year’s MKAL will not be finished until January of next year I’m afraid. Otherwise, it’s been a lot of fun! I’d like to do something in a different yarn weight such as DK or Sport. Let’s make next year’s KAL 6 months. We could then do two.
Hi Genie,
thank you for your input. Much appreciated. I’m adding this to the list and we’ll try to do our best to consider it.
Have a wonderful day! 💕
Please consider overseas participants and send an email when the new clue is available.
Hi, Jan. We have sent an email whenever the new clues are released, including this last time. If you didn’t receive it, you may wish to check your Spam folder or sign up again at https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/
I agree with Genie’s comment that the yarn be available prior to the pattern being released. Actually, I would like to see all of the colors used in the project when the first clue is released. That way I could decide whether I want to use the suggested color scheme or develop my own.
I would be interested in having some colorwork in the next MKAL.
I enjoy making afghans/blankets, so another blanket project would be fine with me, but I’m definitely open to other projects, as well.
Hi Diane, thank you for your comment. I’ve included it to the suggestion list.😊
I appreciate that the entire team was caught by surprise with the popularity of this MKAL and the demand for your yarn.
I applaud you all for giving 150% to move this forward as best you could.
Five gold stars to the moderators keeping track of everything and answering questions. A crucial part of my quest for success
Unlike some of the others, I appreciate the 12 month MKAL and am very glad it exists. Having said that, like others, I wish there was a way to finish this in time to present it as a Christmas gift.
I would like to have a better sense of what all the colors could/would be before starting for similar reasons to those already mentioned.
I would definitely be on board next year for a year long event.
Hi Mary, thank you for your comment. I’m adding it to our suggestion list and we’ll do our best to consider it for next year’s make-along.
Have wonderful day! 💕

I wasn’t able to work on this KAL during the contest period, but I’m absolutely LOVING the pattern and the idea of a year-long project. My only problem, because I bought the yarn awhile ago is wondering where I put Nov and Dec yarn. lol
