Not sure what you wanted to know, so I’ll just comment that the colors in this month’s giveaway are especially fabulous. You know … PURPLE!
Believe, by Brannaman and Reynolds
“Buck Brannaman is a remarkable person. Remarkable in that he can communicate on a variety of levels – with people as well as horses – all with one desire: to help free the spirit in everyone involved.”
Love “soak up…”
Thank you.
My eyes feast on these colors – calorie free and spirit nourishing!
Hi Chandi. My favorite tv indulgence is “Love After Lock Up”.
All I ever watch is crochet & yarn related YouTube videos. I sit up in bed at night, crocheting my fingers away, while watching my favorites from YouTube on my TV. Every Friday I check to see what you have posted. I love all your videos (even when it’s about knitting) but I get SUPER excited to see new Crochet patterns from EFA!!! 🙂
This month’s giveaway is GORGEOUS! THANK YOU! KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED! 🙂
Looking beutiful
I’m an avid reader but I don’t know why it took me so long to get into (and appreciate!) Portuguese classics. I’m guessing being forced to read Os Maias in school did not help, even though it’s such a great book (but that first chapter it’s a dreadful dump of backstory. After you are past that it’s great!). I’m definitely rereading it now that I’m older.
I was very happy I had a go at O Primo Basílio (Cousin Basílio in English) of the great Eça de Queirós. He is considered to be one of the greatest portuguese writers of the XIX century, famous for his realistic descriptions and social critic of portuguese society of the time in his romance novels. Give it a try!
Best book was Blowout by Rachel Maddow. I also have enjoyed watching the Olympics.
Im watching Downtown Abbey , maybe im late for the ‘party’ but i like this tv series. Its nice to watch that and also some knitting podcast on youtube while knitting.
My favorite show this year had been A Million Little Things. I just started it and could not stop. I am currently reading the Maidens by Alex Michaelides. So far its pretty good.
Such gorgeous colors 😍 I personally really enjoy listening to true crime pod casts or documentaries on Netflix while crocheting or crafting.
sooooo pretty, different & interesting colors
Your colors are stunning! I have been watching a lot of YouTube kntting/spinning/yarn dying videos. Worsted Fibre podcast, Fleece and Harmony, both out of Canada, ChemKnits tutorials. I just got the Fleece and Fiber Sourcebook. That has been fun to go through. I’ve been trying to learn to spin yarn so much of what I watch and read is fiber related right now. And I’ve been trying to read through the Bible, so that is my main reading at the moment.
I love your yarns such elegant colors and looks so silky, they’re just so gorgeous but oh so expensive for me. I live your designs, too! Hiw I wish I’ll win your give away yarns so I’ll know how they feel and I can make your design using your yarns!
The colors are sooo beautiful! ❤️
This would be a awesome treat, since the last days were horrible for us, my hubby was diagnosed with COVID-19 after a coworker infected him 😥
Hi Chandi!
Wow, this months give away colors knock it out of the park! 😊
My favorite reads lately (extremely hard to pick) have been turned into an Amazon Prime series. I love a good crime novel/detective series and Michael Connelly definitely steps up in that genre as does Titus Well over as he plays Bosch in the Amazon series.
There are currently 20 books and season 7 was released late June, 2021. Definitely get a ton of knitting/crocheting done whether it be watching or listening to audio books.
Once again, thanks for the chance for the monthly yarn giveaway!!
I’m loving all these beautiful colors! I’m showing my age here, but who cares! I love watching the old reruns of shows like “I Dream of Jeanie”, “Bewitched”, “Adams Family” etc. and every Saturday evening my husband and I watch Svengoolie. We both love the old black and white horror movies! No I’m not that old! My childhood was in the 60’s. Haha
Thanks for the chance to win such magnificent yarn, I can’t wait to win! (Thinking positive). Good luck to all!
I will keep trying until I win some yarn.😍
These yarn just melts my heart.
Btw, this year, Iam watching a lot of Phillipines movies 💖
Beautiful yarn! I just love my camel oasis I bought last month!
My favorite podcast I listen to while knitting is Mayim Bialiks Breakdown. Book series is Ken Follett’s Pillars of the Earth.
I have several favourite things… But since I am currently in the process of buying a house I am obsessed with interior design books and crafts, I love country rock and favourite artists vary from Bob Seger to Kansas to Jace Everett. But I admire the a capella group Pentatonix… so I am all over the place… (hehehe)
Wow Chandi! Stunning as always!! 😍😍
My favorite new podcast is probably I Saw What You Did- it’s about movies and is hosted by two amazing women Millie De Cherico and Danielle Henderson. Its very fun and these two have a great rapport.
Best show this year? Siblings on Netflix. Even after 100 episodes, I didn’t want it to end!!
Congrats, Bridget, on winning July’s giveaway! 😊
Wow, the August colors are just fabulous, Chandi! I love the combination of magenta, cream, and honey. 🔮🍦🍯
I think you have missed to update the question you’d like us to comment on this month. 😉
Have you seen the Olympian, Tom Daley from GB, that won a gold medal in synchronized diving last week and that is a passionate knitter and crocheter? He sits in the aquatic center and knits while watching and cheering for his teammates. 😍
That’s just such a great way to promote our beloved craft.
I just saw a picture of Tom Daley knitting! How very cool!
Amazing right ! I just looked it up and he’s got quite the fantabulous Instagram.. madewithlovebytomdaley absolutely 💯 amazing!!! Beautiful human ❤
Just joined and I’m already liking the colors of yarn that are displayed. Use to crochet when I was younger. Started a family and a job and just didn’t have the time to do much of anything relaxing. Now that I’m older I started back up with crocheting. Have several project going at one time. I find it very relaxing.
My favorite guilty pleasure is watching Magnum PI while I crochet.
Congrats Bridget…so happy for you!
Just a quick thank you to Chandi and her entire EFA team for spreading love, peace and joy!
My favorite book is And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. I had trouble learning to read as a child. At the age of 16, I picked this book up and couldn’t put it down. Agatha Christie started me on my journey of living a thousand lives through books!
I need this batch SOOOO badly😁😁😇
Such amazing colors! And the one at the top is basically spun gold, it’s magic!
My favorite tv show this year had to be debris. Sad it got cancelled.
Omg!!! It got canceled??? Sooooo sad.😩 I LOVED that show!!!!
Yes, Moya. I am disappointed in that news too 🙁
Oh, and for TV show (the question wasn’t in the post way back when I put in this comment), I absolutely love Schmigadoon, it’s silly and amazing and makes me miss going to Broadway musicals.
I am so excited to see this one!
Gorgeous colors again! The honey and purples are simply divine! We’ve been reading and listening to the Narnia series with my 7 yo and am rediscoving this favorite from my childhood.
Hello Chandi. I LOVE any and all books about the low country, or sisterhood….books or movies about the bond that women form. The bond that surpasses all other relationships. Some of my favorite books are by Mary Alice Monroe, Kristin Hannah, Elin Hilderbrand, and Dorothea Benton Frank. I’m also passionate about praise music. If I have a day to myself, a recorded book is being read to me (so I can knit) or praise music is playing in the background.
Hello to you! It’s a wonderful day here in Indiana. Fall is just around the corner. Love the colors of your yarn. Godspeed on your life’s. Journey.
Beautiful yarn!! Some of my favorite tv shows this year were This is Us, New Amsterdam, A Million little things, and Virgin River.
Every month the giveaway yarn is beautiful but this month’s is extra special…LOVE IT!
I love to listen to audible books while knitting a wrap using Pearlescent Worsted yarn. I only want good mysteries, or happy books to inspire my stitches. And a snoring dog laying at my feet!
The award for my favorite TV show so far for the year is a tie between Lupin and Sweet Tooth. I just love good mysteries and problem solving shows!
Wow beautiful colors!! My favorite show so far this year would have to be The Witcher on Netflix. Excitedly anticipating season 2! I haven’t been reading as much this year sadly but what I’m currently on is The 33 Strategies of War by Robert Greene. It’s fantastic so far and gives you the knowledge to implement strategies to help in everyday life based on battles fought in the past.
Hello! So far my favorite book this year has been Verity by Colleen Hoover. I haven’t really been watching movies, but the show I’m currently binging is Catfish the TV Show for some light entertainment lol.
Love all of Nalini Singhs books, her latest Last Guard ia a great continuation of the Psy-Changeling Trinity series.
My favorite movie this year is Raya! I’ve enjoyed watching it with our grandchildren!
This is my first time on the site & signed up for newsletters. I’ve been navigating the site & it’s all so beautiful, breathtaking colors. I’ve crocheted since i was 8 (I’m 67 now). My Aunt Opal taught me & she gave me a lifetime gift of crochet knowledge. I find your yarn colors mesmerizing. Thank you for the giveaway opportunity.
Linda
Oh i forgot to answer your question. I’m a huge TWD fan!

The August colours are gorgeous. They are my dream colours
No favourites. I love most all books but don’t watch TV. Love to listen to jazz when I knit at night. Do I have to keep signing up to be entered?
Great question! Yes, you need to sign up every month to be entered into the giveaway. 💕
I’ve been watching animé with my daughter this summer. The Day I Became a God is my favorite so far.
Absolutely beautiful colours!!!!!!
Very beautiful colours ! I recently (re-watched) The Witcher on Netflix, looking forward to season 2.
While crocheting I listen to various audiobooks. I recomend the one I just finished “Sway: The Irresistible Pull of Irrational Behaviour” from Ori Brafman, Rom Brafman. Very interessting 🙂
I listened to the audio book “This Tender Land” while finishing an Aran sweater for my son. It was a lovely story full of adventure and a little suspense.
I haven’t had much time to read this year. The TV is on while I knit or crochet but I don’t really watch it. It’s just on for background noise. I usually have it on HGTV.
Hi this giveaway looks so fantastic. In the moment I haven’t any new books, but I have read many from Stephen King 😉
With best wishes from Germany
Petra
You wanted to know my favorite show that I’ve watched. There are two actually. The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix and most recently Jeremy Clarkson’s Farm. A lot of laughs on the second one!
Your beautiful yarn and patterns have brought me back to a pastime I had forgotten i loved. Its amazing how much blessings you bestow on the world without ever knowing it. Kindest regards Mary
Found a new music by Adrian Von Ziegler. Thus month’s giveaway is so beautiful.
Working on crocheting “Quietude” shawl today for my aunt, while listening to The Moth podcast (real stories told by people of their life experiences – funny, sad, inspirational, heroic – which is also aired on public radio stations. I highly recommend! This month’s colors are gorgeous! I look at them and wonder how many holiday projects are waiting… Love your enthusiasm and positivity, Chandi 🙂
Favourite show(s) watched this year – Bosch and Lucifer!
So pretty! Always drooling over the lovely colours. God bless
Such beautiful yarn! This summer, a local bookstore has been doing a reading program centered around animals, so I’ve been reading a lot of books that I wouldn’t have otherwise read. My favorite was Where the Crawdads Sing.
What truly beautiful colours, I love purple. I also saw Tom, it is always nice to see a man knit. We have a couple
in our knitting group. Good luck to all of us, what a great win it will be.
beautiful colours in this months giveaway! I have not read anything or listened to audio podcasts lately, but often when I knit I watch youtube knitting podcasts such as The Yarn Hoarder or Bakery Bears.
Dearest Chandi, your eloquent expression is an incredible inspiration ❤
A Course of Love, Combined Volume By: Mari Perron, is Soul nourishment in it’s purity!
Keep shining as radiantly as you do xxx
Haven’t been reading much as I spend all my time knitting and crocheting! I have been enjoying Annette Marie for an author.
These colors in the August giveaway are EXQUISITE❣️❣️❣️
I love the This Is Us show. I don’t have a favorite anything though.
Wow, what a stunning color combination! Perfect for the upcoming fall. I’m currently rewatching iZombie, but there is too much going on to enjoy this show while knitting.
My favorite book is The Lady’s Refuge by Naomi Rawlings. I could not put this book down.
During the pandemic I’ve begun watching Britbox detective shows. I really enjoy British tv shows, they’re quite different than our police series/murder mysteries. Some of my favorites are Shetland, Unforgotten, Death in Paradise, and of course, Midsomer Murders.
Good morning,
My favorite show right now is Dr. Death. It’s so intriguing. The cast is wonderful and play the parts well!
Chandi, your patterns are beautiful and the yarn is exquisite! You are a beautiful person inside and out!
My favorite book so far has been “The Night the Lights Went Out” & “The Beach Trees” by Karen White. Her stories are steeped in history as well as mystery. I highly recommend giving this author a read she never disappoints me.
Favorite tv show I can’t help it is “Friends” it always makes me laugh.
Love Love Love ❤️ the colors to this month’s giveaway….. Oh the ideas I have every month with the giveaways
I love the colors for this months giveaway. They are absolutely stunning. I have enjoyed watching “A Discovery of Witches” on S/N and now I am waiting for Season 3 to come out.
I have watched a few movies this year that I love, Penguin Bloom, The Magic of Belle Isle, and I Still Believe. Also I absolutely love the colors in this months giveaway…so beautiful!! I have also been working on the Storyteller cardigan I love it so far. It is my first big wearable piece, before this I only made scarves and small pieces. I always wanted to makes socks and sweaters, bit have always been too scared, but I have been enjoying this, it doesn’t seem too hard.🤗
Absolutely stunning, I would so love to get my hands on these. Currently binge watching while crocheting all of my past tv favorites.
Yummmmm….Lovely yarn ! I listen to a LOT of audio books (thru my library), mystery, thriller, suspense…. I knit up a storm while listening. My two favorite things! Books are terrific, but Audio is the Best for me, anyway!
I watched The Expanse on Amazon and it was riveting. I love sci-fi so much!
Hello ! I love this colors and all the yarn looks so heavenly beautiful, I just love to look at your videos on youtube to learn about yarn, chorchet and knitting. For the moment I love to watch criminal minds and I have a couple of seasons left but I’m enjoying every second of it and I always use the time in front of a tv with a yarn project or two
I wish all yarn lovers a peaceful time with your favorite project 😍
I’m really enjoying watching some of your videos. In January 2020 I started teaching myself to crochet via YouTube and picked it up very quickly. Now I’m starting to try my hand at knitting which is a bit harder for me I. especially liked your speed knitting video because even though I’m just learning, the Continental knitting method that you show is exactly how I always want him to hold my yarn and that has been very helpful for me.
Your yarn is so beautiful! Thanks for all your positive energy and happiness 😊
The colors are beautiful! August is my birthday month. To have my name drawn would make the most perfect gift. You can never have too much yarn 🙂
I’m a sucker for British detective stories! Father Brown, Midsomer Murders, Shetland, Silent Witness(?), Broadchurch, etc etc
Gorgeous colors!!
My favorite 0odcast this year is Crazy Sock Lady 🙂. She always leaves me with a smile and inspiration in my knitting.
Oh such beautiful colors….
PURPLE!!! As for favorite book / movie / show / podcast this year, there are too many to mention. I just started re-reading the Outlander Series in preparation for the release of Book 9 in November. BTW – I babysit my now 10 month old grand daughter every Tuesday and she wakes up from her naps at noon, just in time for your weekly chat. She loves watching and listening to you too. <3
I really really love the 99% invisible podcast. It’s just great!!
Gorgeous – as always! I’m hooked on the Olympics – and I read s many knitting mysteries as I can find.
For me, yarn MEANS books! I am addicted to audiobooks and fiber arts; they go together hand in mitten, and, as soon as I finish one of either, I start another. Quilts, sweaters, shawls, beaded bags and voices in my ear spinning stories or teaching me something new…heaven! So far this year, Catherine Steadman’s audio mysteries stand out. As an actress (Downton Abbey), she narrates her own work wonderfully, but her writing is even better. Your fingers will fly!
These colors are so beautiful. I am really enjoying the Bible in a Year podcast from Ascension.
The favorite show we’ve been watching is Heartland. So beautiful in Canada and the horses are wonderful, as well as the whole family story line.
I listen to a friend’s podcast called Bacon on the Rocks – it’s a fun podcast talking about a variety of topics.
Lately, I’ve been watching lots of documentaries about the Tudors and Ancient Egypt. I’ve always found those eras fascinating.
“Redeeming Your Timeline” by Troy Brewer. It’s all about releasing the bondage of past traumas and redeeming it for what the goodness of God declares for your life today.
Wow! Such lovely colors Chandi! My favorite movie I’ve watched this year has to be the animated movie Home. It’s not new, but it’s new to me 🙂
I absolutely adore these colors. Thank you, so much!
We have been watching old favorites this summer. One of our favs is Newsroom. Such clever writing…
Thank you for another amazing giveaway sweet Chandi! Your colors are SO amazing and your yarn is saved for the special garments. I love your patterns and appreciate the freebies! I have been watching the Olympics and love the games, and emotion from all of the competitors. It is about much more than mere sports. The human stories are phenominal. As for other TV, I only watch Antiques Roadshow and little else. And I love ALL the books! Enjoy a fabulous, calm and productive day!
Those colors sing so beautifully together! Your colors are always luscious. I have really enjoyed watching portions of the Olympics this year, cheering the international gathering of people working to fulfill their dreams.
I haven’t had much time to read this year. The TV is on while I knit or crochet but I don’t really watch it. It’s just on for background noise. I usually have it on HGTV.
Favorite podcast is Wait, Wait. Don’t Tell Me from NPR
My favorite series I have watched this year was a 8 week series on FDR and the queen of Norway during WWII on PBS.
August yarns are great colors for a lady with grey hair 🤣. My favorite show has been “For All Mankind” on Apple TV. It shows an alternative outcome IF major events in history had a different take. 🧐
Good read is The 100 year old man who climbed out the window and disappeared by Jonas Jonasson….follow the adventure of the spiritful 100 year old man who climbs out the window of the care home he is not ready to be in…it had me smiling to myself mist of the time and as he is 100 he recalls his life history going back to 1900s…nice gentle read in this grazy world….
Happy knitting folks…. I am in my garden making yet another sugar blush shawl..(not all were pink….but i did lose that one to a friend)
Perfect pattern for zoning out in the rythm
This is the most beautiful selection of colors ever – of course they are my favorites too! This month’s winner will be sooooooooooooooo lucky! My favorite book this year is The Unanswered Letter by Faris Cassell which I’m midway through reading.
I loved Wanda Vision the most out of everything I’ve seen this year. I’ve trying to think of a book… I’m re-reading Night Watch by Terry Pratchett because it’s so good. I need to find a new book too though.
Wow! The colors are just gorgeous! For the show.. I watched Castle this spring and for a book … The wisdom of Menopause from Christiane Northrup M.D. Thanks for this giveaway!
Favorite tv show perhaps Loki? Thanks for the chance to win!
Currently really enjoying Genius: Aretha. Gorgeous colors with the giveaway!
My favorite books so far this year have been: Ten Thousand Doors of January, Night Tiger, and Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows. All three were full of great storytelling and suspense (nothing scary though).
Milá Chandi,
pravidelně sleduji Tvoje novinky a jsem fascinovaná. Moc se mi líbí Tvoje příze i Tvoje výtvory. Žiju v ČR, jsi pro mě moc vzdálená. I když dnes je možné všechno. Tvoje výrobky jsou pro mě inspirující.
Děkuji.
Vladi

Those cl=olors are so gorgeous! Among the movies and TV shows I’ve seen lately, I enjoyed watching Virgin River, Lucifer, When Calls the Heart, Grace & Frankie, The Last Letter from Your Lover, and Greenleaf. Knitting and Netflix are just better together!
A beautiful book I read earlier in the summer is The Prayer Box by Lisa Wingate.
Thank you for all your lovely patterns and of course, the yarns!
Oh my goodness…just seen moutain hues kit….simply stunning STUNNING
I have two favorite books this year that are both fantasy. I think they’re very different, but I think they both also have a hopeful tone. One is Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia and the other is The Witness for the Dead by Katherine Addison (a companion novel to The Goblin Emperor which was my favorite book I read last year!).
Also, the colors for this month are fabulous!
Hi Chandi, “ The Letter Writer” is my favorite movie so far this year. I would like to recommend the book, “ A Gathering of Old Men”, a who done it! Hugs! Shan
Beautiful colors as always. Favorite movie for the year so far is Black Widow. I’m a MARVEL nerd and Black Widow was their best movie by far.
Stunning colours! Watched the Queens Gambit this year and really enjoyed it.
I got to warch Fried Green Tomatoes for the first time this year. It’s beautiful and so heartbreaking all at once.
Love the August colors! I read two or three books a week and have no favorites. All are on the Kindle app on my iPad.
My favourite show has been Word of Honor.
I’m happy for the chance to enter a competition that has such a beautiful prize! I love to listen to audio books whilst I crochet or knit xx
Congratulations to last month’s winner!
Beautiful yarn! Right now I am watching”Virgin River”
One of my favorite shows this year was Sex Education on Netflix.
This month’s giveaway is beyond belief!!! It’s not like I don’t have enough of your amazing yarn, but who could resist entering this giveaway!!
I’m not much of a TV/Podcast person, so when I watch, it’s usually just for fun/pleasure, so I enjoy shows like America’s Got Talent.
I listen to this book on CD and was crocheting a blanket, really like it. This is a new author for me. Susan Elia Macneal The Queen’s Accomplice. (Mystery)
I’ve been binge-watching previously viewed favorites this summer (Supernatural, Wynonna Earp, Killjoys, Blacklist, Letterkenny, Murdoch Mysteries) and haven’t done much reading this year. My favourite author, right now, is Tanya Huff and I know that hubby had ordered a trilogy of books that I didn’t have already for my birthday, so I’ll got some reading to do.
Thanks for another gorgeous colour collection and the opportunity to win!
I love the book “Little Fires Everywhere”, and it seemed an appropriate read for this year!
My favorite of all kinds of media turns out to be anything on YouTube from Rhett and Link. I got hooked on their Good Mythical Morning and Good Mythical More a few years ago, and their positivity, zaniness, and kindness help me get through my days.
Awesome fiber selection for August! Love it!
I’ve been stuck on the Hidden Brain podcast, with Shankar Vadantam. Super super informative, great for knitting sessions. Perfect for expanding my mind whilst gettin them stitches in! Yaas! Have an awesome day!
Love the colors this month especially – so “me”!! My favorite TV show so far this year is Why Wonen Kill. Such an interesting and different perspective on crime drama.
I love Doctor Who, any day, any year, but last month I found Sisyphus on Netfix and so far really enjoying it.
My favorite podcast is the Normal Not Normal podcast with Oliver and James Phelps, who play the Weasley twins in Harry Potter. They explore normality and discuss whether it even exists or not. A great listen, and I highly recommend it even if you’re not a Harry Potter fan!
You have such an artistic eye. I love reading your emails to see the photos of nature that accompany the yarns.
My favorite books this year are both by Isabel Wilkerson: The Warmth of Other Suns and Caste.
I’m really enjoying the highland bride series by Lynsay Sands
I finally read (listened on Audio) to Dracula.
After all my life, thinking I knew this story, I never knew this story. Better than all the movie versions.
Highly recommend.
Oh, see if you can get the audio version of Powers of Darkness! It was an Icelandic interpretation/ rewrite of Dracula that has been since been rewritten into English. The storyline is a bit tighter and it makes an exciting read.
We just finished watching Tell Me Your Secrets (season 1) on Prime. I don’t usually watch suspense films while knitting but it sure was good. Usually I binge watch shows that are easy to watch so I don’t miss anything when I am concentrating on a certain stitch — easy shows, like 14 seasons of Heartland. LOL. Right now I am anxiously waiting for the new season of Outlander. Thank you for this month’s yarn drawing. The colors are wonderful. I just finished two shawls using EFA’s yarn — one with CashSilk sock and the other one with Dewy DK. The next one I’ll start next week uses Alpaca Silk Lace and will be my first time doing a lace project. I’m hooked on EFA’s yarn!
My favorite inspirational book I read this year is The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World, by His Holiness The Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and Douglas Carlton Abrams.
I think my favorite movie has been The Towe Heist on Netflix.
I just listened to a BBC broadcast version of Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens. I listened while crocheting, and it was quite fun. Listening to their adaptation of Neverwhere (same author) next!
I entered to this giveaway with hope to win as today is my birthday and i wish to indulge myself with new gorgeous yarns and because purple is my favorite color and used to be my nickname when i was a teenager.
Good luck for everyone.
Happy Birthday! 🎈 🎂 🎉
Hello Beautiful souls.💕Thank you Chandi for the opportunity to be in the giveaway. Good luck to all who enter.
My most unforgettable book is The Long Walk by Slavomir Rawicz. There is controversy about the book but the story is Riveting and unforgettable. There is a movie as well titled The Way Back.
My most recent favorite book is The Bookwoman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson. Based on the WPA program of travelling libraries, this is a fascinating historical fiction story about the deep woods of Kentucky, the challenges of getting books to people, and the persecution of the Blues. (You’ll have to read it to find out.) 😉
Favorite tv right now, Brokenwood Mysteries, Unforgotten, Miss Fisher Mysteries, the Expanse, Outlander (sigh, will we ever see more??). All the best to everyone and you, dear Chandi and staff.
The Witcher series of books!!!
Hi Chandi,
Have you read “Water for Elephants” by Sara Gruen? The setting is back during the great depression. I love reading but few books leave me with that “oh wow!” feeling. This is one of them.
I haven’t read the book. I watched the movie adaptation and enjoyed it. I’ll have to check out the book. 💕 Have you read this interesting article about Sara? https://www.vulture.com/article/sara-gruen-charles-murdoch.html It was incredibly fascinating.
Thanks Chandi, for such beautiful giveaway collections, the patterns, and the high quality yarns. I love holding your yarns through my fingers as I knit. I just finished reading The Wisteria society of Lady Scoundrels by India Houston and I am starting A Well Tempered Heart by Jan-Philip Sendker, the author of The Art of Hearing Heartbeats which I read several years ago but have never forgotten the compelling story he wove.
Thank you for the possibility of winning your gorgeous yarn. And the colors are spectacular. Love purple hues.
My favorite thing I have read this year has to be the Betsy-Tacy book series. Even though this is the third time I have read the series, I forget some things that makes each time as if I’m reading them for the first time. And even though I know the ending, I still sit in suspense for what will happen!
So much beautiful in one stack! Thanks for a chance to win! I like to binge watch and right now it’s The Good Fight on appleTV.
Binging on The Closer, Major Crimes and Rizzoli and Isles. Old shows. I read many different Genres of books, one I won that is a love story out of my views, but I really enjoyed, was One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston. So many good authors out there, just like you have so many pretty yarn color combinations and are a joy to watch on your YouTubes.
I love the colors!! I don’t really have a favorite TV show or book, however I LOVE to listen to Christian music , one of my favorite songs is SCARS by Casting Crowns. T
Due to a broken ankle I’ve been catching up on some TV :). I’ve finally watched the 3rd season of stranger things and really enjoyed it. Also listening to various Exactly Right podcasts. Have a wonderful August!
I really enjoyed watching Virgin River on Netflix. I’m also currently watching Downton Abbey – a little late to the party, but I see why it was so popular. Oh! And Dexter!
I am loving listening to the podcast “Bridgewater” while I crochet.
Redpill78, available at redpill78news.com, is an independent news phenomenon. He does 5 livestreams a week, often with extremely interesting guests. Intelligent, real, thoughtful, funny, and a man of high integrity.
Oh my goodness, I love these colors. I’m thinking w new sweater for myself or a shawl.
I really enjoyed Carneval Row with Orlando Bloom and can’t wait for the second season!
Harry Potter
Thank you for doing these giveaways! I love showtunes/musicals and country singer Jennifer Nettles released a new album singing showtunes and I’ve been obsessed with it. Even if you don’t like showtunes it is a beautiful album.
I listen to audiobooks so I can keep doing other things like gardening, knit/crochet, and at work. I’ve re-listened to Dean Koontz’s Chris Snow series for the 10th time because I love the series and sometimes I just need something familiar.
So hard to pick a favorite book, but Fifty Words for Rain by Asha Lemmie was excellent! Don’t really watch TV so can’t comment on that one.
This is my first time entering the monthly drawing. I am a life time member of happily hooked and recently subscribed to the monthly yarn box and discovered your yarn. I can’t wait to work with it!!! I love to crochet. I love your website and your color choices and your patterns. You are located right in my backyard. I am an hour away in Cleveland County. I love knowing that I am supporting local small business. I look forward to doing business with you.
Absolutely beautiful colors! The gold along with the purple could knit/crochet into something stunning!
My favourite podcast of the year has to be Ronstadt. A total trip of danger and fun. It’s one of a few that have made me fall in love with audio dramas and lets me live out an hour of pretending to only have books and radio dramas as our entertainment like it’s 1950 or something.
I’ve kinda gotten stuck on watching the DIY channel. I love seeing the creativity of everyone and gleaming ideas from them. I’d dearly love to win a stash of your yarn! I have a small collection of patterns that need to be on my hook! They’d look best made with these purples! Thanks.
My favorite movie (that I end up watching a few times every year) is Pride and Prejudice with Kierra Knightly.
Beautiful colors! ‘Elevation With Steven Furtick’ has been my go-to podcast this year. A friend told me about it a couple years ago, and I finally got around to listening, and it has been incredible. 😊
Currently reading “Pillars of the Earth.”. Amazing!
Thank you for yet another amazing and generous giveaway! Lately I’ve only indulged in silly reality shows – 90 Day Fiancee is our guilty pleasure.
Currently reading “Pillars of the Earth.”Amazing. Reposting since I typed my email address wrong…oops
I’m pretty much a Netflix couch potato, so the best show I watched this year is on Netflix – Lupin.
Such beautiful yarns. I love to knit while watching Midsomer Murders on Acorn TV.
The colors are very beautiful and loving and colorful combination!
Love the colors….
I have enjoyed your color work for so long! I usually binge watch old movies when I knit. But one contemporary series that I just love is “Midsomer Murders”. I can get it on BritBox and YouTube.
Those August yarn colours wouls be absolutely amazing to win! Love them all!
Also i don’t actually have a favourite particularly for many things, but i know i maybe the only one here, but i love watching anime… While knitting lol it helps because time flies by while i knit and watch!
I love how vibrant these colors are! Your work is truly a thing of beauty, and you are so generous with it! I know that that generosity will come back to you.
My favorite podcast is a Dungeons and Dragons Actual Play called Critical Role! The cast is made up of professional voice actors, so they really get into the character aspect of the game (which is the part that’s more interesting to listen to). The stories they weave working together are thrilling and heartwarming. They’ve made me laugh, and cry, had me at the edge of my seat, and exulting in their victories. It’s around 3-4 hours per episode, which makes it perfect for sitting down and getting some knitting done. If you enjoy the high fantasy genre and you enjoy improv acting, give it a whirl.
I’m really enjoying the series Manifest on Netflix. Also Unforgotten on TV
I recently saw ‘Wild’ and I liked it. It made me want to hike and take my crochet and just be on trail!
Favorite movie has always been, The Wizard if Oz, followed by Casablanca. Book, Pride and Prejudice, the Harry Potter series, and Two Old Women by Velma Wallis. Your yarn is alway beautiful. If I win I plan to make one of the bigger poncho type jackets! Thanks as always for your uplifting positive daily messages!
This years’s absolute favourite read for me is A gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles – a real treat for a lover of the old world.
I haven’t finished it yet , but the queens gambit on Netflix is awesome. Thank You for letting me enter. Very exciting
Love ❤️ your yarn 🧶. It’s wonderful to knit and the colors are incredible.
I have way too many favorite books, movies and TV shows. I am going with Schmigadoon which I just found out about and watched most recently. It was very different and so funny.
Hi Chandi, love your posts, always so interesting and uplifting! I read a book lately called Conjure Women by Afia Atakora. Very different and insightful into the lives of two women born into slavery pre and post civil war. And anything written by Jane Kirkpatrick. She writes historical novels about remarkable women. Enjoy!
Re-read The Shack. There is a younger (to me) knitter/crocheter that reads excerpts from classic books I’ll listen to him and crochet away. Not a huge fan of TV.
Love your yarn, beautiful colors!
I’m in the middle of reading les Miserables, and I’ve watched a lot of tv. Bones, Letterkenny, The Handmaid’s Tale, and currently watching Superstore. Beautiful yarn!!
I read the Villains Collection by Serena Valentino. I love fairy tales, but I also love reading about the dark side of the fairy tales. This collection made me live in a world full if intrigue and new plot twists from the fairy tales we are so familiar with. I loved them.
I just watched American Gods and it was kind of amazing. I mean, it’s a soap opera, basically, but it’s also got a really dark underbelly. I loved it.
I love the colors this month!! I like outlander series and I also listen on audio books.
These colors are making my mouth water! Hubby and I finally watched “Bridgerton” last month and enjoyed it greatly. I know we are behind everyone else in maybe the whole universe on this but so it goes.
Just finished The Silent Patient…quite the page turner!
I love the colors! Purple is my favorite color! I really enjoyed Schitts Creek this year. I just discovered it and binge watched all the episodes. My favorite book this year has been Where the Crawdads Sing.
I’ve been watching Hand Maiden Tale. I’ll probably move on to the book next. So far I’m really involved with the story.
Loved binging Loki. Tom Hiddleston is everything
Love Love Love….what beautiful colours….and going for the gold with it on top. So Beautiful.
I’ve been watching a lot of British T.V. lately and the series “Vera” has been my favourite. Got to have the subtitles on though so I don’t miss what is said. My knitting is a constant companion during the shows.
I usually listen to podcasts on my commute, and I tend to listen to science and history ones mostly. Some of my favorites are Hardcore History, Noble Blood, Ologies, and This Podcast Will Kill You. I’m also currently reading Circe by Madeline Miller for my book club.
It’s my birthday month so I couldn’t think of a better birthday present than to win the giveaway.
Such beautiful colors. My favorite book so far this year was The Last Bookshop in London. Thanks for such a great giveaway.
my favorite show that i have been watching while i knit is american horror story
My favorite book?… Oh my there are so many I love!!… so I’ll just comment on one of my favorite movies… Dirty Dancing has to be at the top of my list🙂
Luscious colors this month! I like to listen to/watch true crime while knitting. Right now I’m into This is Monsters (YouTube). He does both podcasts and shows, and does a good job presenting the material. Good luck to all in this month’s giveaway.
My favourite show is Heartland. It is set and filmed in Alberta, Canada
My favorite podcasts are a plethora of history content like The Exploress (soo worth a listen!), but I have also enjoyed We Can Do Hard Things, and No Place Like Home — about the Ruby Slippers! I recently found Michael Singer’s podcast, and there is a ton of food for thought when you want to look inward.
They really get me out of my head while I’m doing other things with my hands! Walking, knitting, gardening, etc.!
My knitting playlist is a random mix of pop, rock, and classical music!
Chandi, I am so addicted to your yarn and patterns it is ridiculous. I want to make ALL the things. I love the rich colors in your August collection. It makes me think of my college alma mater–hmmm, a purple and gold tiger shawl would be interesting. I am new to streaming shows/movies this year, so am still catching up on old ones; I love “Dan in Real Life” with Steve Carell. Such a sweet and funny story with a great soundtrack.
Your yarn is alway SO beautiful and I love your emails!! I like watching Mountain Men.
I started Outlander this year, and it’s been my go to binge for 2021. I always wish some of the scenes were a little less risque, but besides that, the show is really engaging.
My favorite book is Molokai by James Brennert. I’ve been watching a lot of Netflix (Heartland and Breaking Bad) while working on the KAL and CAL.
Hi! I watch all the PBS crafting and sewing programs available. I am a knitter. Watching the hands of people has helped learn there is no right way. I am picking up some crochet along the way. Love your colors!
Love these colors. Lots to make using them too
I finally watched Big Bang Theory this year and loved it!
I just finished re-watching Mad About You. Such a funny show.
A great book I recently read was The Woman They Could Not Silence. I had no idea that women in the 1800’s had no rights once they were married. It was very insightful. A inspirational story of a woman who was committed to an insane asylum because her husband didn’t agree with her religious views, and her fight for her own freedom and that of the other inmates.
The yarn is beautiful. Recently I’ve been binge watching Rizzoli & Isles. I know it’s an older show but I didn’t watch it when it was out originally so it’s new to me.
For my favorite shows, (reaching back a bit here) I watch “As Time Goes By”, “To the Manor Born” and “Doc Martin”. If you like British ways and their unique sense of humor (and appreciate family friendly fare) I highly recommend these-especially “Doc Martin”. I’m not so much into podcasts, as I do enjoy beautiful classical music, especially when I’m knitting. KDFC (out of San Francisco) live streams, for free (they do ask for support) and they regularly play Joshua Bell, Ludavico Enaudi and Angela Dubeau and LaPieta. It’s been ghastly hot here (105+F) almost all summer, and so in the afternoons, I get my knitting, a cold drink, and listen.
Thank you for the giveaway and the $10 voucher. I favor an Autumn palette, and the colors this month are spot on. Everyone stay safe & be kind-to others AND yourself!
These yarns are so lovely — brilliant colours!
I struggle to choose favourites in books and movies, so my favourite podcast(s) are a series from Relic Radio of old time radio shows from the 1940s-1970s. I love listening to them while I knit or crochet.
Hello, such gorgeous dreamy yarn you offer this month.
This week I discovered Disturbed’s cover of ‘The Sound of Silence’ by Simon & Garfunkel. I can’t get enough of listening to and watching the video of Disturbed’s interpretation. This arrangement brought the profound meaning of the lyrics to life and moved me to tears in a way S & G’s folk music style could never reach me. Please give it a try even if you don’t normally listen to hard rock. The lyrics are just as relevant today as they were in 1963.
Yes, such a good interpretation of that song.
Yes! Love this song so much I bought the album, along with Prince’s ‘Welcome 2 America.’
Everything is SO pretty! Love all the yarns I’ve purchased so far from you! Have a blessed day!
I am currently reading “Braiding Sweetgrass” by Robin Wall Kimmerer. She is a Botanist, Poet, and a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. She brings these things all together to write a beautiful song about our reciprocal relationship with the rest of the living world.
Beautiful giveaway!! My favorite movie this year has been Greater. It’s on Netflix. Wonderful TRUE story of perseverance!!!
Favorite book, or rather books, since I seem to read many at the same time:
Love and a Map to the Unaltered Soul ~ Tina Louise Spalding
How to Hold a Cockroach ~ Matthew Maxwell
The Spiritual Seeker’s Guide to Happiness ~ Rashana
And the one I am still reading because it is so big and deep and wise: Die Wise – A Manifesto for Sanity and Soul ~ Stephen Jenkinson
I mainly read them at night since during the day I am …. KNITTING!!!!!! 😀
August is my birthday month and I LOVE purple, so crossing my fingers!! Gorgeous yarn!!
My favorite TV show this year is the Olympics. Enjoyed seeing Tom Daly knitting. Beautiful yarn.
I have been watching lots of the Olympics. It’s amazing to cheer for our team.
hi chandi,
my favorite books (they are both by same author and go hand in hand) are by Sue Monk Kidd (author of Secret Life of Bees):
Dance of the Dissident Daughter
and
The Book of Longings.
they have brought special meaning to my life and i keep them on my bedside table.
best regards,
margaret (daisy)
recently my favorite is the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness. all your giveaways are awesome , the person who wins it is truly lucky !!!
Ohhhhh. Purple is my jam!!! And my birthday is August 13th!!!! I am watching Heartland on Netflix right now!!! Chandi I absolutely love your yarn, lives and unique style!
Here is an early Happy Birthday! 🎁 🎈 🎂
Gorgeous yarn as always Chandi! My go to viewing for when I’m knitting and crocheting is Misdommer Murders!
I listen to audiobooks while I do anything that doesn’t require too much thinking. Thus I have gone through over 120 hours of crime, murder mystery, chic lit, and alike novels each month. I can’t name a favourite, some are good, some awesome and some not so good – the simply boring ones I skip.
Currently I’m on a series about murder mystery in the 1860’s, and although historical stories aren’t my favourite, this one I like. It’s in Finnish, so not available for larger audience, unfortunately.
Such beautiful colors!! I’m currently loving the show Lupin and my favorite podcast of the moment is Everything Everywhere Daily. Short (10 min) daily podcast with info on a wide range of interesting subjects.
The fabulous book of my summer reads is The Last Tea Bowl Thief by Jonelle Patrick! It is set in modern Tokyo and Feudal Japan, regarding a priceless tea bowl and how it comes to be in a young woman’s hands!
Oh my goodness, such beautiful colors, as always. ❤️🧶. My favorite books are Pride and Prejudice and Anne of Green Gables. I have read a lot of amazing books this year but the two that stand out for me are: Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier and Oscar Wilde’s plays such as The Importance of Being Earnest. These books were first-time reads for me. I don’t watch a lot of television, but my oldest son and I just finished watching Loki and I can’t wait for Season 2. This took me by surprise as I don’t like watching superhero movies.
wow! aren’t those just lovely!
My favorite book is the Bible. I’m still reading it and hope to ‘finish’ when my life here is finished!
Beautiful colors!
My Favorite book is Still Life, it will tear at your heartstrings. I am currently reading Sanctuary. Both are quick, easy reading.
I love to watch greys anatomy. I listen to almost any music when I crochet or knit. And when I don’t crochet anything. I’ll read Any ellen hopkin books.
Currently reading Treasure by Clive Cussler.
Love the luscious colors you have chosen !!
I love your colorways. They are always drool worthy. I like mystery shows. Lately we have been binge watching Blindspot.
All of your colors are sooooo beautiful. I can’t pick a favorite, but I’m drawn to your blues and purples! In terms of movies/television shows, I love documentaries and have seen a few. My favorite was the Netflix original documentary film that won the Academy Award this year called My Octopus Teacher. I cried like a baby at the end! It’s definitely a must see!
It was so good. 😌
I have just finished reading this book my daughter sent me, very interesting- 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World by ELIF SHAFAK.
Interesting u should ask. As a preteen I read a book called Jigges. About a horse of course. The first book I ever read that made me cry.
So there it is.
The colors are always fantastic!
I read and watch a lot of Scifi & Fantasy. I finally read Terry Pratchett’s last discworld novel and loved it.
My husband and I really enjoyed The Good Place and the whole family enjoyed watching Raya! I just finished reading Rosemarked and Umbertouched by Livia Blackburn, which is a YA series I believe but was an interesting fantasy nonetheless.
I’ve been rereading the Outlander series this year and am finally onto the last look – it’s hard to read and knit!! This month’s yarn colors are drool-worthy, as always! Thank you for your generosity!
I haven’t watched or read much this year due to having a new baby last year, but my favorite show of all time is The Golden Girls! Can’t beat that!
I agree with everyone….I LOVE purple!!! These are so gorgeous!! I am a fan of Outlander! My sister hooked me on it when it was just starting out! I have my next book bought on preorder for November release. Then they made a series on t.v. based on the books…..I enjoy that too!
Favorite book read this year is Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art by James Nestor, it is a must read for anyone interested in the breath=life connection!!! Favorite show this year is Virgin River on Netflix!
Beautiful yarn! My favorite tv show I’ve watched this year is Lucifer
Favorite books so far this year have been the vampire knitting club books!!
Oh this is perfect the colors of the sun rise and sun setting during this time of year, color of so many roses and flowers, still Summer but Autumn is lacing her and there..
JONAS KAUFMANN !!!!!!!! FAAAAABULOUS tenor !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Chandi , watch his you tubes – of arias : E Lucevan Le Stelle -Tosca, La Fleur – Carmen, ‘ Nessun Dorma ‘ – Turandot !!!
He is GORRRGEOUS , SWEEEET and SMART !
I have basked in his Opera’s as well – 15,000 Operas for free – available on Google. Type in Jonas Kaufmann and choose from their list.
News of The World. Tom Hanks was AWESOME as always.
I love these colours. I want to make a throw for my single bed and would love to use this bundle to do so.
I have really enjoyed 2 shows this year, The Chosen and The dead Files.
I’ve been following my three favorite knitting YouTube channels: Expression Fiber Arts, Franklin Habit’s Vlog, and Arne and Carlos Sit and Knit for a Bit. Also, can’t get enough of Binging With Babish and his food creations. Alas, I’ve read too many books to mention (professional proofreader) and I watch very little TV, though I’ve enjoyed The Masked Singer. It’s my guilty pleasure.
My favorite book this year is The Last Herald Mage by Mercedes Lackey
This would make a nice birthday gift 🙂 My birthday is in August…
My favorite movie so far this year (not made this year, just watched it this year) is Mr. Right. It’s cute and campy with a dark subject.
i loved re-watching “the west wing” and “downton abbey” during the pandemic. favorite book so far this summer is “last chance texaco,” the memoir of rickie lee jones.
My current book series is “The Sword of Truth” by Terry Goodkind, I am on book 8. In my opinion this is not a series for youngsters. My current pod casts include, The Crazy Sock Lady, Crafthouse Magic, Knitty Natty, Cathy Hay and One More Row. These are sewing and knitting YouTube channels. And I am also rewatching “The Walking Dead” on Netflix because a new season was just released and I missed season 10 on television.
My favorite show I’ve been watching this year is Brooklyn nine nine. It is absolutely hilarious and perfect to have going while I knit projects. I can’t WAIT to watch Cruella and Jungle Cruise to come on Disney+, I haven’t seen them yet, so no spoilers lol
I also just signed up for Once upon a book club and I am SO excited for this experience!! I love reading, the little gifts are just so exciting!!
Gorgeous colors- love the purple theme!
Best book I’ve read this year is “Cosmos” by Carl Sagan. I enjoyed how he integrated information with positive philosophical implications.
Thank you for the giveaway
Wow! Absolutely gorgeous yarn!
My favourite book so far this year is Everything She Ever Wanted by Ann Rule!
My favorite movie so far this year is: “Finding Ohana”. Thanks for the giveaway, the colors are gorgeous.
Congratulations Bridget! Love the colors! Favorite show is The Handmaid’s Tale!
My favorite book so far this year HANDS DOWN has been Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse. I cannot wait for the sequel to come out!
This has been a year of comfort for me. Comfort movies, comfort books, etc. I recently rewatched Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet. I forgot how much I love the imagery, the music and the delivery of the lines.
Colors are always so beautiful! You need a million dollars to buy them and probably still won’t be enough! #YarnAddict is me!
Sorry just saw your question. I’ve been hooked on chicago pd, fire and med. Hard to read when crocheting/ knitting!
I really loved Nora Roberts’s “The Awakening”, “Once and Future Witches” by Alix Harrow (so, so good!), “Red, White and Royal Blue”, and I’ve been reading Maas’s A Court of Thorns and Roses series and have immensely enjoyed those. The yarn colors are gorgeous.
I LOVE purple! I have been rereading VC Andrews books.. I have been feeling nostalgic and have been watching Antenna tv and metv for the older shows that had laughs that were just funny! My newest grandson is amazed by Green
Acres…lol.
OutFoxed by RJ Blain
My favourite tv show (British soap, I guess) is Coronation Street, which has been on since 1960! I guess they are doing something right! For books, for some reason I am obsessed with British authors and historical novels set during WWII, particularly how people survived concentration camps. My music preferences are usually Il Divo and The Tenors (formerly Canadian Tenors) but I do love all kinds of music. Although lately, I have been watching music videos over and over at the request of my 4-year-old granddaughter: Alicia Keys, Girl on Fire; Katy Perry, Roar; Ed Sheehan, Perfect ; Dance Monkey/Minions 😂.
I love the colours you have chosen for August!
Fibonaci striped sweater with all those lavenders and some of the gold! Gorgeous!
Love all the gorgeous colors! This year I’ve read/listented to the Spellmonger series by Terry Mancour
This is an impossible task! So many good things right now. Favorite book (at least in the last month)– Miss Benson’s Beetle. 100% worth a read.
My favorite story book this year is ‘Under the Lilacs’ by Louisa Mae Alcott. Loved it so much the first time, I searched till I could find a copy and bought it- an unusual event. Mostly I borrowed books from a library. This story is filled with hearts as soft and comfortable as your yarns. mostly.
I confess I’m an Outlander addict. I have read all the books so far. Watched the television series on Starz. And am relistening to the books again on Audible as I drive in to work and home again. In case you have been so busy with all things yarn that you don’t know about Outlander, the books are written by Diana Gabaldon, and are –in order–Outlander, Dragonfly in Amber, Voyager, Drums of Autumn, The FIery Cross, A Breath of Snow and Ashes, An Echo in the Bone, and Written in My Own Heart’s Blood. Book 9 is coming out in November: Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone.
I think this is the most beautiful batch of yarn you’ve ever had for the monthly drawing. As for your question of the month, I’ve been reading The Way of Qigong and it is a wonderful book. In your email there was a picture of you in a gorgeous burgundy wrap but I couldn’t find a link to the pattern. Please let us know where we can find the pattern and that stunning yarn. Thank you.
Here is the link for you: https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/search.php?search_query=%22fuchsia+glow%22
Book is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers – amazing historical love story…couldn’t put it down. And my son and I love watching Kim’s Convenience on Netflix…so funny and so sad this was their last season. There is so few really good things to watch anymore.
As always great colors and yarns. Keep up the good work!
Right now I am reading an old favorite—Lord of the Rings.
Lovely colours! My podcast listening is purely for entertainment, I know there are lots I can listen to that are more educational and I can learn from, but right now I just need to laugh, and the 2 podcasts that I am currently listening to are “The Office Ladies” and “Eos 10” Both pure entertainment without needing to use much mindpower 🙂
Wow!!! These colors are to die for – and the colors are just glowing and magnificent!! I just got the books The Hidden Life of Trees & The Heartbeat of Trees by Peter Wohlleben, which I am looking forward to reading.
I have been recently bing watching TV! I blew through The good fight and some historical series, yup historical. I’ve worked 2 jobs at 16 hours a day for over 30 years. Never time to watch.. Due to health Im down to 1 job, yay! My knitting and crocheting were severly neglected. The past 2 weeks lots of time knitting…..yes!!!!! Can’t read and knit/crochet.
I have just finished reading a trio of books by Raymond E Feist and Janny Wurts. The first book is called Daughter of the Empire. Loved it.
I’m off into town now and the library is at the top of the to do list.
Have an awesome day.
I love most television programming. I’m watching the Olympics games and knitting a shawl!!!!
Love the colors in this giveaway!!!!
Dream Horse is an inspiring, uplifting movie.
I just watched “Seven Pounds” with Will Smith. It is from 2008, but I had not seen it before. I used quite a few tissues at the end. It gets a little confusing in a couple of places, but then you start putting things together. I would highly recommend it. As would I recommend people entering this contest. (Not too many! I want to win!) The colors, as usual with all your yarns, are beautiful.
Uhhh…. these colors are so pretty and I can see sweaters and shawls ❤
The movie Nobody. I don’t really watch a whole lot of shows or read a whole lot. I mostly enjoy my time outside and crochet 😄 but that was a fun action packed movie.
Can’t get enough oh the group, We the Kingdom! Beautiful music, and beautiful Fall color collection this time!
Love to read a variety of books and also yo check out crochet magazines. Thank you Chandi. Your yarns and patterns are always beautiful as you are as well.
I have been enjoying the best version of chaotic stupid via the Critical Role podcast Edu mini campaign!
Wonderful colours in this beautiful yarn!
My favourite song that I have been introduced to this year is The Power Is Here Now by Alexia Chellun – just wonderful!
Your colours are just as wonderful as you are.
My fav author is Jenny lawson. She can make you cry and laugh in one sentence.
I really enjoyed “Interior Chinatown” by Charles Yu… a novel written in the style of a screen play.
Just finished listening to the audio book of one of my all time favourite stories Sabriel by Garth Nix. It’s become one of my comfort reads 😊
I’m listening to “Vanishing Fleece” by Clara Parkes. I like to crochet and listen to audiobooks.
I really enjoyed the Midnight Library by Matt Haig. There was something about it that just drew me in. Love the colors for this month give away!
Currently enjoying Ted Lasso!
Oh! My favorite colors!! Your yarns are so beautiful and scrumptious. I don’t have a recent book to recommend but picked up “The Soul of an Octopus” to read next. 🙂
My favorite thing I’ve watched this year is Bo Burnham’s special “Inside” on Netflix… he literally used lockdown to create his MacBeth and it’s incredible.
Re-run of Downton Abbey, great for binge-ing and knitting. I will knit a cloche style hat, fingered gloves and long line vest for my daughter with titian coloured hair. Congrats to Bridget and kindest thanks Chandi for your thoughts and 💕.
Right now hubby and I are binging “Celebrity Game Face.” It’s really naughty but super funny. We have so much going on in our lives, it feels so good to be able to laugh.
My favourite podcast is “Someone Knows Something” — it’s a real-life investigation into unsolved mysteries (in Canada, mostly) and is led by David Rigin, an investigative journalist. He is amazing and helps many different people with their problems.
Love the variety of colours in your ‘Give-a-way”! ! ! That purple and the “spun gold” skein on the top would make such a wonderful pairing.
I am always happy to see your email when it arrives.
<3 <3 <3
My silly guilty pleasure for a while was Shadow and Bone on Netflix, so I ended up reading both Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom in a weekend. I’m in my forties and not usually into young adult novels, but these were a lot of fun to read!
I’m not as big on TV or other things mainly because by the time I’m done with work the very last thing I want to see is another screen. I like to read old fashion books made of paper. I have just finished reading My Wife Said You May Want to Marry Me by Jason Rosenthal. It is a very sad but very beautiful book about loss and finding peace and strength with loss. I highly recommend it. It really helps to know loss is a part of life because it means you loved and have loved.
Picard was my favorite series this summer. Sir Patrick- what more do you need? The cast was superb as well, though.
Thank you for your positive energy and amazing creativity!
Prayers For Sale by Sandra Dallas. Loved this book. It’s set in the old days and is so sweet. The woman who’s been in the mining town for forever. They quilt together but makes me think of my knitting group. A worthwhile read
Ooh, look at those lovely colours! Reminds me of a delicious bouquet of flowers. My favourite book is The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. Such a powerful story that really gets you thinking.
My favorite film this year was Minari.
So much beautiful yarn! Purple is my favorite color! My favorite movies/TV shows are anything in the Marvel cinematic universe. Especially the Iron Man and Spider-Man movies.
Hi Chanel! I’ve been really enjoying We Can Do Hard Things podcast by Glennon Doyle! Its life changing!
While I knit I love to listen to audible books or see videos on you tube that talk about knitting, crochet and sewing. I recently read books by Valerie Perrin, I liked them very much! I really like yours yarns and their colors! They are unique!❤
Wonderful colors.
One of my favorit tv-show is Home Town.
Delicious selection….again!!!
Hmmm, I’ll have to say the British Sci Fi series Torchwood
Your colors are always so vibrant and colorful. Your patterns are so thoroughly written.
Thank you Chandi & Team for every little or big word of encouragement you offer to your group.
Dearest Chandi, thank you so much for your generosity in sharing your knowledge and passion for fiber arts; and for sharing delightful, inspiring patterns! Have you heard of Anni Albers, a fiber artist who lived, worked and created in Black Mountain College (which is pretty near to where you are now; it was in Black Mountain, NC.)? A student of hers was Ruth Asawa who did awesome metal wire sculptures that have textile qualities. If you have a chance, stop over in Asheville ar the Black Mountain College Musum and Arts Center to see the exhibits, and learn more about these two remarkable women, and many other artists who became leaders in the American Post-War art movement.
I usually watch whatever my Dad is watching on tv while i crochet or knit; but I wander away into meditation; or think of every stitch as a hug or a kiss for the loved one I am knitting for.
You and your team of designers might find inspiration in the books recently published about the Albers: one is simply titled “Anni Albers”, published by Yale University Press; published buy the Guggenheim Museum.
Thank you for your entusiasm, cheerfulness and hope that you transfer to me. i deeply appreciate it!
Holly
Love all of the suggestions! I’m going to have to take a trip and check the exhibit.
Oops! Typo! I forgot to name the second book! it’s called “josef Albers in Mexico”, published by [not “buy”] the Guggenheim Museum. I am sure that the Black Mountain College Museum and Arts Center have these twoo books available in their library for consultation.
My best!
H
I am currently reading The Belgariad series by David Eddings. They are kind of old amd I read them years amd years ago but they are really good books. I am not sure I have a favorite tv show I am into right now. Thank you for your generous giveaways you do every month, the yarn gets more beautiful every month!
I enjoy the authors Margaret Atwood and Chuck Palahniuk.
Beautiful colours of yarn Chandi.
I enjoyed the Bridgertons this year by re-reading the books and watching the Netflix series. Oh! and I swoon for any Hallmark with Tyler Hynes.
We can do hard things podcast with Glennon Doyle
I am more a reader than a a watcher! A couple of o sci fi books are my favorites!
Currently rewatching Doctor Who (Nu-Who) to catch up so I can watch the last three seasons I missed!
I usually tend to watch romance movies or sci fi, or true crime stuff. One movie i saw last week was Star Wars the Last of the Jedi. While I am not a Star Wars fan, it wasn’t too bad. I recently read the first book in a series about a druid or warlock and plan to read some more of them eventually. The first book is called Hounded. This past weekend I read a romance by Julia Quinn called The Sum of All Kisses. It was okay, but not as good as I’d hoped it would be.
“Whats a ghoul to do?” By Victoria Laurie! A book about a tough woman who can communicate with ghosts and her gay best friend. They start a business together and end up getting a doctor as a client, romance ensues and it holds up to the test of time
Best book this year, A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas. I love her writting so much!! If only she could write faster hehe
Chandi, your yarn is beyond beautiful!! My favorite music is by Enya and one of my favorite books is Pride and Predjudice!
These colors are gorgeous!! I don’t have much time to knit right now but can’t wait until I can start it up again!
My favorite show this year is The Chosen. Absolutely AMAZING show based on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Can’t get enough of it!
I’ve read a new-to-me series that’s now my favorite of all time, and that’s saying something! It’s the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.
Hi Chandi 😊
Lovely yarns with lovely colours😍 The latest series I watched was Poldark. I love historical dramas. Another favourite of mine is Outlander😊
So behind on films/ Tv…. Virtual school woth an infant & preschooler kept me busy. I got back into Crochet during lockdown and it has been my “me” time in the evenings.
I finally finished the last season of Big Bang Theory; watched a few seasons of The Crown, and the first season of Bridgerton.
I loved watching all of the marvel movie universe tie in series on Disney, and got Britbox to rewatch things like Sharpe’s Rifles. I’ve gotten through most of the smarty pants romance books started by Penny Reid’s Knitting in the City series and begun Anita Loos’s Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (because I like the musical).
Always love the color palette of your yarn, and this month is no exception! Such lovely colors, perfect for mid/late summer.
I’ve been listening to a lot of Critical Role, a D&D podcast! It’s been a lot of fun, surprisingly easy to get invested.
The colors of this month’s giveaway are just gorgeous! Love all the purples! They match my hair!
I don’t want to watch TV much; I would rather knit or sew. I have discovered Spotify, and have it on my phone. My musical tastes are diverse: movie themes, Lady Gaga, Lindsey Stirling, The Weeknd, Keith Urban, musicals. So when I am able to just sit and knit, or get into my sewing room, I put in my earbuds and listen to all kinds of things on Spotify. If Hubby is asleep, I sing along.
One of my favorite books is Cinnamon Wharf. It has adventure, mystery and romance!
Wow… lots of comments there… My FAVORITE authors are Stephen R Donaldson (The Thomas Covenant series’ (3 of them)) and Shayne Silvers; ALL the Templeverse UF novels…
Do you know how hard it gets to read and crochet at the same time… especially during the exciting parts…??? I have to just read the Shayne Silvers books first then crochet…. decisions, decisions…
Lovely colours! Reading has been a bit hard for the last few years but I’m now revisiting or rereading The Annie’s Attic Mysteries by various authors. They have crafting and mystery combined. I’ve been watching Doctor Who alot and The Outpost, a very interesting fantasy show. I’ve also watched alot of PBS shows.
Wow such beautiful colours! My favourite reads are Gone with the Wind and Pride and Prejudice. I’ve read both many, many times. I also love watching them as movies and have knitted while listening to these as audiobooks quite a few times too!
Congrats to the winner, and a huge THANK YOU to Chandi and the entire team for just being yourselves!!! <3
I haven’t been watching much, or reading much for that matter, because we’ve (us personally, but also most of the entire city too) been pretty much continuously struggling with repairs & trying to get some sense of normalcy back after being struck by back-to-back major hurricanes last fall (during this pandemic). So! Instead of watching or reading (which I do love both), I’ve actually turned to yoga. And it has really helped a lot more than I expected! ^_^ I’m getting my body moving again, focusing on stress relief and anxiety reduction, all while finding it surprisingly fun!
Again, thank you so much for the chance to win your yummy yarns, but especially for just being you! XOXO
💕💕
I really enjoy the podcasts Code Switch and Throughline. I’ve learned so much about history and different socail issues between these 2 podcasts. I try to never miss an episode of either.
I was reading Fahrenheit 451 this year! Got the book as a gift from my partner <3
We watched a Netflix series called shadow and bone that was really good, and a couple Korean shows, Tunnel, and Black. Now we’re watching Sweet Tooth, but it’s a little slow.
My favorite tv show this year was definetily Wanda Vision. I was really forward to see the last season of Younger, but the ending was a disappointment for me. The book is ‘The unbearable lightness of being’ by Milan Kundera. I’ve read it a couple of years ago and I didn’t like it back then, but re-reading it was a good idea. I think I matured enough to finally understand and appreciate it. And the yarns are just lovely as always 🙂
Gorgeous yarns this month, as always.
I’ve read SO MANY good books lately; here are a few to add to your list!
The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow
Wendy, Darling by A.C. Wise
The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
Hour of the Witch by Chris Bohjalian
Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline
I have been listening to the Casual Criminalist this year. Also very beautiful yarn!
This month’s give away is crazy beautiful! I love the “gemstone” tones/shades. I live in a tiny dry (no running water/indoor plumbing) in Alaska and am a serious crochet addict. My 6 yo granddaughter saw some yarn I had the other day and said “nanee can you make me a purple sweater?”. Though I have been crocheting for about 50 years I have never made any clothing aside from shawls and scarves. A sweater out of this yarn would make that semi toothless smile shine! She is an old kind soul in a very young body 💜 My favorite movie that I actually love listening to while I crochet is called Heartland, starring the late Rip Torn. It is about homesteading in Wyoming in the early 1900’s. Live was quite hard and death was a frequent visitor but life was simple: not complicated like now. If the movie or book is a true account of the American pioneer experience I will probably love it 🌻
Beach Read by Emily Henry. Crazy life with 3 kids but this book was hard to turn away from❤️
Beautiful yarn!
I don’t watch a lot of TV shows lately – YouTube on the other hand is my go to. Cooking, True Crime, crafts, languages, etc. I usually listen to a lot of audiobooks, but this year I’ve been focused on learning a new language – so that’s where all my credits are going. LOL.
Just started listening to the complete Sherlock Holmes Collection. It’s perfect for my crochet project background noise.
Wow this month’s giveaway is such a treat, as usual, the colors are out of the ballpark!!
My favorite show for now is a classic, Startrek Voyager!!
My favorite movie I watched this year was soul, It was really touching!😇☺️
I don’t get a lot of free time, but I have rediscovered American Horror Story on Netflix. Missed the first 2 seasons so I went back to catch up and am truly hooked!
Podcast, crazysocklady.
And new young musicians, like Dimash and Hua Chenyu.
Hi Chandi, one of my favorite movies of all time is Gone with the Wind! I am also a great fan of Sound of Music. Each movie is set in a historical back round and I’m a history fan. And if the “historical” movie is a musical, like The Sound of Music then you can be sure I’ve seen it.
As always such gorgeous colors and exceptional yarns. Love it! I enjoy watching Wyoming. The ranch and the place is just gorgeous!
I recently started taking time to read again. I hadn’t sat down with a book in nearly a year. So far I have read so many I’ve lost track. My favorite author is Michelle Willingham. I finally finished reading all 40ish of her historical romances and the collaborative stories that connect to some of hers. The three Castle of Keyvnor series sets had 9-12 stories each by a different author. I love when stories have crossover characters.
Wowza! Yaayy for a ton of comments! 🙂 Hi Chandi & Co too💜
I love the yarns so very Grapes of Wrath! 🍇
I listen to chill house radio on Pandora! I love it!
Also, my boho shawl is complete now! I will share pics soon! My version is very beach-y and has some sparkles! Yayy!
KnitterHugs!
Since I haven’t seen a movie in years or have cable I read a lot. And crochet ;-). I love Karen White, Fannie Flagg and Patrick Taylor books. They are wonderful authors that absorb your whole being into their stories.
My favorite music is the piano guys. My favorite movie, the letters, my favorite book, the Bible! Have a great day!
Beautiful yarns! And congratulations to the giveaway winner!! 🥳🥳🎊
I have discovered that the best combination of fun is listening to an audiobook while knitting. I have too many favourites so far and so I can’t choose one. However, I can name a favourite show I have watched. I am an avid fan of Asain dramas, especially Korean and Chinese. My favourite drama I have watched so far this year Is “Intense Love”. It’s so good that I’ve watched it 3 times already 🤭
I have recently been pulled back into Game of Thrones. I bought myself the whole thing on dvd and plan to spend the too hot days of August in the coolest room of my house with my swift and winder making cakes. When that chore is complete, I have 3 crochet blankets, a scarf and a shawl to finish! All while in the cool and watching GoT again! Wheee!
Hi Chandi, thank you for a wonderful giveaway. These days I mostly watch fibre podcasts. My favourites are The gentle knitter, Chevyrell, and The noble character crafts podcast xx
I cannot say exactly what my favorite show is but I really like Miss Fisher’s Moden Murder Mysteries. It is a British spin off of Ms. Fisher’s Mysteries.
Congratulations Bridget for winning last month, and thank you Expression Fiber Arts for your all your wonderful patterns and yarns, you all work so hard and bring so many people joy! Chandi’s YouTube videos have been an amazing source of inspiration and joy during this pandemic for me. My favourite Podcast that I’ve listened to this year has to be The Battersea Poltergeist presented by Danny Robins for BBC Radio 4. It’s an intriguing series, and wonderfully presented, I’d recommend it to anyone with an interest in the slightly supernatural and it gives an amazing insight into a particular time period in London in the late 1950’s.
Good luck to everyone, and my best wishes from the Emerald Isle 🍀
Well I’ve only gotten through one book this year so far, and that was Stephen King’s ‘Insomnia’. What a long book, but a phenomenal read. Beautiful youngs as always.
Well I’ve only gotten through one book this year so far, and that was Stephen King’s ‘Insomnia’. What a long book, but a phenomenal read. Beautiful yarns as always.
I have been a fan recently of the weekends and bruno Mars most recent music. The vibe is 70’s soul, so fun. I have been on a true crime kick also. Can’t get enough.
Hi Chandi. I really enjoy seeing all your yarns and fabulous patterns. I enjoy watching knitting and orchid podcasts from across the world.
Hello! My favorite show so far this year is Carmen Sandiego on Netflix. It actually came out a few years ago but I hadn’t noticed it before. It is very cute, funny, and strangely captivating. It feels like a show meant for children yet adults can still get lost in its plot. Highly recommend it!
Aaaaahhh, those colours! And that SHINE 🤩 You can practically feel the delicious drape if these beauties just by looking at the pictures!
To everyone going through a rough patch right now, I send you love, good vibes and “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig as my (audio) book recommendation…. Yarn therapy also works well, of course 🧶💛
I love Lucifer and I red the entire Cherie Priest Clockwork Century Universe!
I haven’t, been working on a pattern that I got from you the Montastraea, working on my second one lol.just absolutely love it ,have another in mind from yar I have in my stash.
Hello!
Favorite book: Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Favorite show: Loki
Favorite thing to do while watching tv my with kids: crochet!
I’ve been too busy to read or watch anything new with work and the kids.
I always return back to Futurama to keep some background noise when it gets too quiet.
I also have gotten into watching speedrunning videos (thanks YouTube algorithm lol) so I’ve been learning a lot about the big names of that hobby
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and The Wizard of Oz are tied for my top spot. I remember when they only came on TV once a year and nothing prevented us being ready for it.
What beautiful colors. I’m a fall and winter person. I read a lot of spiritual books, anything that’s biblical. When younger I like Nancy Drew mysteries, biographies and romance novels. Thank you for your giveaway.
Blindspot! I binged that whole show in a couple weeks, multiple episodes a night. LOVED it. And I’ve also gotten very hooked on Critical Role, thankfully there’s a large backlog I can watch!
I have loved catching up with Joji’s Journal!
Hi Chandi! I have fallen in love with The Magicians trilogy by Lev Grossman, this year. Think Harry Potter meets Dawson’s Creek and Supernatural on a bridge at dusk. It’s a wonderful series to read when I’m not stitching up something fun.
Beautiful yarns, as usual. I can’t really give a valid answer because I don’t really partake in any of the items. I don’t watch movies, listen to viable podcasts, read books, listen to music. I watch crochet content on youtube daily, and hubby watches tv so it’s just background noise for me while I crochet. My favorite YT’r is Gina from Knitting Turnpike. Her shawls are stunning, and so are yours. I hope this answer qualifies because it is an honest answer.
My favorite book of the year has been The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. It was fascinating to read about Hollywood in from the 1950’s through the end of the century. The characters were enticing and the story was beautiful and sad.
this is my favorite book
BANGARWADI-
One of the excellent literature produced by ”Vyankatesh Madgulkar” in 1954
Story of an earlier villages in India where a young school teacher who joins newly…. in a village of shepherds in Maandesh, how he tries to change their views about the importance of education, the effort that he takes to bring about this transformation, can hardly be seen today.
But this village has not been blessed with plenty of rains since many years,so people don’t have any source to live, hence the whole village migrates to another place.
We’ve been watching Alone on the History Channel. I can’t believe the things that these people do to try and get by in the wilderness alone, cold and hungry.
Lovely yarn for this giveaway! Thank you so much!
Hi, I’m Jackie. You have a beautiful array of colors that create striking combinations. I truly enjoyed reading “Summer on the Bluffs” by Sunny Hostin. In addition to the great story, I enjoy the snippets that describe the vibrancy of past travels to Martha’s Vineyard. The book is truly a treat.
Hello Chandi, I just wanted to say that this month’s yarn is absolutely gorgeous! Having them as a giveaway is amazing.
As for my favourite piece of media this year I will have to go with “Far from the Maddening Crowd” on Netflix. I read the book some year’s ago at university and the film reminded me how much I liked it. Also it’s a beautiful film in itself 🙂
I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts, especially while doing chores or while my littles are warching the same cartoon for the umpteenth time. This year I’ve really enjoyed Revisionist History. And I’ve kept up with a few true crime podcasts as well!
I don’t really have a favorite book but I love Kristin Hannah and Jodi Picoult. These are all gorgeous colors!
My favorite recent book was Station 11 by Emily St John Mandel.
This month’s colors are absolutely gorgeous! Lately, I have been watching the Marvel and Star Trek series with my kids.
The book that I’ve been loving so far this month is: “Get Out Of My Head” by Jennie Allen. This would be my first time reading one of her books, and boy it is packed (so far) with alot of inspirational goodness. Podcast I have been loving is called: “Morning Mindset” I collides well with the book I’m reading.
Those purples and oranges really are gorgeous!
You asked about favorites – the best book I have read so far this year was “Follow me to Ground” by Sue Rainsford. It’s described like this: “In this serenely haunting tale, told in prose at once lyrical and unsettling, a lonely inhuman girl running a magical curing business with her father searches for a way to come alive.” I loved how poetic this was.
I got it from the Nowhere Bookshop; if you buy a copy from this link, they will get a cut of the proceeds: https://www.nowherebookshop.com/book/9781982133641
I have not done much reading lately and as far as movies go, I genuinely watch reruns of my old favorites, not much these days I am into. However, listening to music is another story. My favorite songs so far this year is “Lightning ” by the Afters and “Good God Almighty ” by Crowder.
I have been spending most of my small-screen time watching Turner Classic Movies. Seeing glimpses of a time before I was born is eye-opening.
Oh, it’s so hard to pick just one book! I like historical novels so two that I’ve read this year are “The Lost Girls of Paris” by Pam Jenoff and ” The Exiles” by Christina Baker Kline. And I also enjoyed “Follow the Flock – How sheep shaped human civilization” by Sally Coulthard. Love this month’s colors!
Love all things yarn. As a software engineer-turned-manager, I no longer code in my daily work, and coding was my arts and crafts fix for years. Crochet and embroidery have filled the gap – they have much in common with programming- they have their own languages, much like programming languages, have syntax and patterns, precision and some art to the science. Keeps me thinking and we have beautiful products at the end.
I watch all kinds of different shows and movies, and read tons of books. This year’s main topic has been crocheting techniques.
I’m very inspired by your TB channel and all of the beautiful things y’all create! I’m currently working on the Kola Street shawl as a gift for my grandmother!
My favorite show is Schitt’s Creek right now and I’m currently reading Some Kind of Courage with my son for school and we are loving it!
Please keep doing what you do, it is truly a blessing!
Absolutely love the color palette!
My favorite show has been Poldark from Masterpiece Theatre on PBS, now streaming on Prime. The settings are just stunning. After watching this show, I just knew I had to visit Cornwall. And we did! The colors of the Cornwall sea, the ckiffs and the golden grasses are so lovely. I can see them as special handdyed skeins of yarn.
My favorite book so far this year is The Witch’s Heart by Genevieve Gornichec! Highly recommend it!!
Loki has been my favorite show this year! Definitely worth the watch.
I love reading but this year I started listening to audiobooks. I’m loving the Glass and Steele series by CJ Archer.
I loved the TV series “Jane The Virgin”, the film genres are romantic, comedy, family, crime and investigation, it was funny overall!
About the yarns, I don’t need to say much as many writers have already mentioned. What I would like to say about the video shooting on your shawls…..the back ground, the setting of the surrounding and the best part is the slow motion of the shawls……..Astoundingly angelic beauty piece!
Such beautiful colors! They remind me of the sunrise that I see when walking in the Blue Ridge Mountains!
Have a fantastically blessed day!
I definitely agree the yarn looks like a beautiful sunrise. Thanks to Chandi for giving us all a reason to bed excited every month. Congrats to Britney for winning last month. Since retiring my whole life has been turned upside down but in a wonderful way and part of my transition has been expression fiber arts and Chandis weekly get togethers. I have not been watching much TV this summer but do enjoy pbs. I just finished watching a special with Andrea Bocelli from Malta. Chandi I believe you might like Pianissimo one of the songs. You can pull it up on your phone. It means very quietly! Thanks again!!!
Hiya Chandi, my favorite new show this year was Crime Scene Kitchen! I love baking shows and I love mysteries, so it was like a twofer for me! And Joel McHale is a hilarious host!! Have a Great week. Love the colors as always!!
My favourite tv show this year was the new season of ‘Blind Gekocht’. It is a flemish show following 6 couples that hand over all their savings to the tv makers who will buy their house for them. The first time the couples get to see the house is when it is already bought. The second time they get to see the house is when renovations and decorations are finished.
The beautiful make-overs of the houses as well as the honest reactions of the couples are what make this a show I love.
What a beautiful selection of yarn for the August give away. I am currently reading an engrossing book by author CJ Sansom, called Dissolution. It’s set in Tudor England and has given me lots of inspiration to knit period pieces.
I love the show ‘What We Do In The Shadows’
Beautiful colors! Best brook this year: The Authenticity Project by Clare Pooley.
Tengo un año escribiendo una novela de época. Principios siglo XX se desarrolla en cuatro países y tres continentes. Una peli que me gusto mucho Patines de Plata.
Again, you’ve got some gorgeous yarn to give away! If you haven’t read or listened to Midnight Library, I highly recommend. And I like some others I’m loving Loki and the Mandalorian series, Zoey’s extraordinary playlist.
I definitely agree, the yarn looks like a beautiful sunrise. It is so wonderful that Chandi gives us something to look forward to and get excited about with this give away. Since I recently retired my life has been turned upside down but in a good way and my transition has included expression fiber arts and Chandi with her weekly get togethers. I look forward to seeing all the new things. I have not watched much TV this summer but I do enjoy pbs and I recently watched a special from Andrea Bocelli from Malta. I have a song for Chandi called Pianissimo which means very softly. You can pull it up on your phone. Hope you enjoy it!!!
I’ve been reading “When bad things happen to good knitters”, I’m learning a lot from it!
Great question, I love to see the suggestions for books people have posted!
And quite the perfect time to ask, as my love & I do not watch television/shows often, perhaps we’ve turned on the tv 5 times in our 3 lovely years. Recently, though, I was turned on to a -seemingly popular show- titled Ted Lasso. I’ve only watched 4 episodes with a few pals as I don’t have a regular need to purchase my own tv account.
A favorite book I have been (re)reading this year is part of the Ringing Cedars series, book 1 titled Anastasia. Life-changing information in these pages…
My favorite song is by Lauren Daigle “Everything” I listen to it daily it keeps this mama of 3 going… Is COVID over yet??!! 🤦♀️
What a beautiful giveaway! I recently watched the serie Scorpion and loved it. I also like Lucifer and many more series. I hardly watch tv, only series on Netflix and watch a lot of YouTube.
My favorite (Netflix-Hulu) things that I’ve been watching lately… The Outlander series So HOT!! you just can’t stop watching, The Sweet Tooth series omg just so damn Cute and The Handmaid’s Tale series just breath taking on the edge of your seat with Tension and Suspense!!!
My favorite book so far this year has been “Girl, woman, other” by Bernadine Evaristo. It’s so impactful and beautifully written.
My favourite podcast at the moment is freakanomics!
I LOVE YOUR WORK!!!
You are so perfect and patient, your videos are so peaceful. After a long day of work staring at the computer, you think it’s time to get off “screen time” what better way but to relax and watch Chandi’s video. I’m a self taught knitter your video on how to knit contential has been so helpful, soon I hope to get as good as you.
You asked a question… I don’t watch much TV or go out much, did go back in May and saw “The Girl Who Believed in Miracles”. It’s now on YouTube” and already watched it 2X. Watch it when you get a chance…
I’m going to try and make one of your GEORGEOUS SHAWLS I found a 1 row repeat. Hope it turns out like you made it. :-))
Stay Safe !
I’ve been binge watching lots of things since the pandemic, my favorites are Ozark, Yellowstone, Longmire, Blacklist, and some Apple shows Home Before Dark, and Good Morning Show. Fun watching all those shows I couldn’t watch at 10:00pm because I had to be at work so early in the morning. Nice to catch up on a lot of shows. What’s next? Who knows. Music is my outside enjoyment, usually Classic Rock or Soft Rock. Put the tunes on and get to the gardening.
My favorite book this year (so far) was The Survivor by Marcel Moring.
I am new to crocheting, but I’m learning more all the time. Thanks for all of your tips and positivity!
Such beautiful yarn. I don’t really spend time on tv but do watch YouTube for crocheting and other crafts. Love all your work!
My favorite, by far, is “Project Hail Mary,” by Andy Weir. I listened to the audiobook, performed by Ray Porter. He also performs the Bobiverse books by Dennis E. Taylor, and he’s brilliant!
Awesome giveaway Chandi🥰❤ my favorite TV shows are Scorpion, CSI Miami and CSI New York…I can’t get enough of those shows I watch whenever I can when I crochet😊👍 Good luck to everyone entering!
So sooo beautiful. Thank you so much. Of course the All time favorite movie is the Titanic.
My favorite show when I was younger was X-files. One of our local tv stations now show several espisodes Monday thru Thursday after 8:00 pm. So I love to watch the re-runs.
I would love to win on of these give-a-ways one day, your yarn is always so beautiful.
Good luck to everyone.
My favourite show this year is Ragnarok on Netflix. I have always had a soft spot for fantasy shows like this which feature people with special powers.
I haven’t really watched a lot of tv this year but one of my favorite shows is Yellowstone!
I also love your videos and tutorials! You are very talented!
This has been my year for poetry. Currently on the nightstand is Mart Oliver’s Thirst.
🤔 Favourite book, I’ve read 70 books this year so it’s not an easy choice! But I think my first book of the year was actually my favourite.
Forget Me Not by Sarah M. Eden.
It’s a best friends romance/ arranged marriage trope, just a good proper historical romance.
I have had Discovery of Witches on tv as of late, or the Mandalorian
Dirty John on Netflix was a great binge worthy series. And Fear Street!
For years now, I have grown to love the art of crochet which is a rare stuff in my country. Thanks to chandi and EFA team for their amazing YouTube videos which gives me more zeal and love for crochet and I hope that in a few years to come, my country would be a crochet theme nation. 😍😍
Favorite book: Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead Fabulous!!!!!
Beautiful giveaway yarns!
I watch this summer Italian TV series Detective Montalbano. I can relax a lot when wathing crime episodes that are not too too scary. 🙂 Thanks for this great giveaway.
I love your pearlescent yarn so so so much, wish I could buy them all!!!! Thank You for all the free patterns it’s so very kind of you.
I’m stuck listening to anything true crime or weird facts this summer. I really like to watch Bailey Sarian murder mystery and make up Monday. Lolo
I’ve gone back to classics and favorites this year.
TV show: BBC production of Charles Dickens’ Our Mutual Friend
Movie: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Book: Ireland (a fictional story intertwined with island legends)
The yarn colors are gorgeous! I don’t know how to use them well, but it’s my goal to learn while my kids are in school this year. Thanks for all the great teaching videos!
My new favourite show is Shadow and Bone!! loving it!
I just finished watching Reign on Netflix. I really enjoyed it.
I’ve really enjoyed going back through the Murder, She Wrote series. A classic!
Beautiful yarn!!! I really enjoyed Virgin River on Netflix. Easy and relaxing!
My Favorite tv show is 9-1-1 I love how they are dedicated to saving lives.
My favorite tv show for the year (and the last several) is Good Witch on Hallmark. This season was its last and that makes me sad, but hopefully they’ll continue to make the annual Halloween movie! It’s such a nice, peaceful show, with beautiful New England scenery. I just love it!
I’ve just watched Wild Mountain Thyme for the second time, and I enjoyed it e even more than the first time. Beautiful Irish countryside, romance, and an ending that made me absolutely crack up. You’ll love it!
Hi, beautiful colors. Hunter Green is my favorite color so of course i would like the greens the purples are just grand. I would be thankful of course for either one. Good Luck to all and God Bless and stay safe and of course my favorite book to read is Steps To Christ by Ellen G. White one of my favorite athors.
Hi Chandi and whoever may be reading this,
What a brilliant quote full of positivity – the best kind: “We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.”– Abraham Lincoln.
My fave TV show this year is The Haunting of Bly Manor (on Netflix). While horror isn’t a fave, mystery is, and this entwined both in such a clever way. I love stories (fiction and non-fiction) that portray great hardships and struggles and the determination to overcome them, self-sacrifices to reach goals, and new beginnings that ensue as a result of persistence to turn around lives (their own and/or others) in positive ways. This had all that with the ultimate sacrifice in the end (which I won’t mention so as not to ruin it for others). What I like the most about it was that it had such a unique ending that wound up all the mysteries along the way into a brilliant ending that I didn’t see coming, so it completely took me by surprise. That’s hard to do with all the movies and TV shows out there, which is why it’s my fave. I loved it so much that I watched it again soon after, and I rarely do that. As far as reading, for the past month of so, my reading (and what I watch) has been focused on articles, books, and videos on knitting and crochet with the goal of becoming a very advanced aficionado in needle crafts.
Thank you for offering such a generous giveaway. Good luck to whoever wins it.
Chandi and wonderful Expression fiber Arts team:
I love my newest purchase! What beautiful yarns you create! So TALENTED!! Wow! I’m looking forward to my next project! Lately I have been listening to Jacko Willink podcast I have found it really motivating. Former Navy Seal who was in the battle of Ramadi his no excuse, never quit, and always learn outlook has been good during this time. We thought pandemic was over and bam were facing it again after already being spread thin through the first part last year. When I make excuses to not go to the gym or delay something I know needs to be done. I listen to Jacko “Good ” when things are tough GOOD .What am I learning, 2 miles on the treadmill is too long today GOOD it will make you stronger and faster. Good it’s making me better I just have to find the GOOD! Its pretty kick my buty into gear getting podcast forsure.
