Hey, beautiful soul! It’s an amazing day for a gorgeous knitted shawl pattern, don’t you think?
Have a look at this draping and glowing: Laiken shawl by Jane Vanselous:
Laiken is an easy boomerang-shaped shawl designed for the adventurous beginner knitter!
Have a watch! We have filmed a video tutorial for you showing you how lovely this shawl is in person as well as how to weave in your ends. We get asked this question quite a bit so here ya go!
For this lovely beginner knit shawl pattern, we used our limited Ephemeral Fingering yarn. 548 whopping yards per skein! A yardage-packed blend of pima cotton and lyocell (tencel), which comes from wood and has a subtle sheen. Colors are limited so if you click over and these are sold out, feel free to use any fingering weight yarn! We hope to release new colors in this Ephemeral line a few times a year.
This plant-based yarn is draping, supremely soft, gorgeously glowing and has a hint of a wavy texture. Also! The lyocell wraps around the cotton and since they are each a slightly different color you get a beautiful depth to your knitting!
We truly hope you love it!
I appreciate you reading and if you’d love to get brand new, premium knit and crochet patterns weekly, just hop onto our email list there on the site. We list new patterns most Fridays and many are free for a limited time. We’ll also send you coupon codes. I hope to see you there.
Talk to ya soon.
XOXOXOÂ Chandi
Beautiful, beautiful yarn colors. Your videos and patterns are an inspiration, Thank you.
Unfortunately, the video does not seem to be working!!!
I think Youtube was down for a little bit. Please check back, it should be working soon. Thanks!
I am working on the Laiken pattern. Row 324 seems to have an error. When counting the stitches they add up to 173, I.e. k3 +p2+k(1)+ (K4,P4) x 20= 160 + K4+p2+k(1) totals 173- not 172 but there are only 172 stitches on the needle. Could you check this and let me know what the problem is?
Thank you.
Ruth, we’ll send an email shortly! Thanks!
What was the answer to this? I am on row 324 right now and need to know how to proceed.
Thank you!
Errata: R324: K3, p2, (k4, p4) 20 times, k4, p2, k. (172 sts)
Muchos Gracias for your article post. Much thanks again. Really Great. Selene Abbott Charlie
