I think it’s the Norman Vinent Peale quote: Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.
I love this pattern! Surprise! You are shocked, I know, that I love this ! Anah!
And I have some yarn that’ll work perfectly! Huzzah!
Have a grand week end! It’s autumn, and the leaves are turning all different shades of not-green! (Well, except for the non-deciduous trees and bushes…).
gorgeous!
Thx so much for the video. I learned how to purl from the back and make cluster stitches. So excited to make this scarf.
Hello Chandi! Thank you for the video. Is the gauge meant to be blocked or before blocked? Thank you!
It’s after being blocked. ❤️

That is so beautiful.
Need pattern for this lovely shawl
Would like to see written pattern for Seren Shawl please
You can find that pattern here: https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/seren.html
I love this pattern but it doesn’t love me. Started it 3 times and ready to tink it back again. Think I’m dropping a stitch somewhere. Impossible to use a lifeline, at least for me.
Is there another pattern that uses the alpaca Silk DK?
TIA
Hi Natalie,
I’m sorry to hear that the Seren pattern doesn’t work out for you. I don’t know if you have several colors in Alpaca Silk DK available but Spring Carnival (https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/spring-carnival.html) or Multnomah (https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/multnomah.html) might be an alternative for you. Otherwise you could check out this link which will direct you to all of our knit patterns using Alpaca Silk DK https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/categories/patterns.html?_bc_fsnf=1&Yarn+Base=Alpaca+Silk+Dk&Craft=Knit
I hope this is helpful! 🙂
Johanna, thank you for the suggestions. I have printed several of those patterns and just finished Melting Transitions with the Melting Hues yarn. Maybe I’ll try that one again with Candy Apple. It came out beautifully.
Thanks again for your help and suggestions.
Natalie
I was wonting this pattern please but would like to do it in 8 ply wool . I hope you can help me out with this . Thank you Kaye.
Hi Kaye, thank you for reaching out. I’ll do my best to help.
With 8-ply yarn I assume you mean DK or Light Worsted weight yarn. That should be doable. I’d suggest swatching with your yarn choice to figure out how many stitches you need to cast on to get the same size of wrap (it’ll be less than stated in the pattern). Also based on the swatch you’ll be able to determine how many rows you’ll need to knit for the same wrap length.
I hope this makes sense and explains it. Let me know if you have any further questions.
have a lovely week. – Johanna 🩷
Hi, is this pattern reversible? Curious what the back looks like!
Yes, I think you could say it’s reversible. If you look at the third to last photo on this page, you can see a small amount of the back of the shawl: https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/seren.html
