Hey, gorgeous soul! Today, I have a cuddly, cozy knitting pattern to share with you! I do hope you’ll read on to learn all about it!
The Andrea cowl was designed by Jane Vanselous. When asked about the original version of this design, Jane said, “I love anything knit in winter white yarn! Simple, yet elegant. Reminiscent of the soft glow of moonlight on freshly fallen snow. It was a favorite of my mother, and so it brings back many fond memories of my childhood. The Andrea cowl is a fairly quick knit that uses thick yarn. Buttery Bulky and Restore Chunky yarns are wonderfully soft yarns that make this cowl a joy to both knit and wear. Perfect for taking off the chill on a cool, crisp winter day.”
This Adventurous Beginner level pattern is ideal for those knitters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Skills/concepts include cables, chart reading (optional), and color changes.
The original version of this cowl used our Buttery Bulky yarn. It’s a dreamy soft, 2-ply yarn that is boingy, bouncy, comfy, cuddly, cushy, and cloud-like! Unbelievably soft and perfect for snuggly blankets, accessories, and your favorite sweaters and other garments! Made from 100% Superwash Superfine Merino Wool, Buttery Bulky is an AWESOME multipurpose yarn! 120 yds/110 m per 3.5 oz/100 g skein.
The original sample shown here used two skeins of our Marshmallow Buttery Bulky yarn. Two or three skeins (120 yds/110 m per 3.5 oz/100 g skein) are needed. 216 yds/198 m were used for the sample shown.
The updated version of this pattern used our Limited Edition Restore Chunky yarn. Restore Chunky is a unique, upcycled yarn. When our mill spins up luxury yarns, there are often leftover fibers. So we asked them to gather their fiber tidbits and spin them into this yarn base, so nothing goes to waste. Restore Chunky is a blend of 36% alpaca, 37% wool, and 27% Viscose with 109 yds/100 m per skein. Soft, scrumptiously delightful, and works up quickly!
The updated version was made with colors A) Invigorate, B) Mimic, and C) Beam Restore Chunky, and two skeins of each color are needed.
We made a video tutorial showing how to work the 3/3 right and left cables. Take a look!
The pattern contains written and charted instructions.
