You’re sitting in a quiet field – just the soft sounds of birds chattering away in the trees. A subtle brook dabbles and babbles gently over the rocks.
The sun is glimmering through the leaves and clouds, dappling soft light onto the wildflowers.
You feel, at least for this precious moment, as if all is well. All is beautifully and wonderfully as it should be.
That is how I want you to feel while crocheting this gorgeous and easy Cirrus crochet tank top pattern.

This beginner level crochet tee pattern is simpler than it looks! It’s made in our gorgeous new Glimmer Fingering weight yarn which has beautiful structure and drape and… gold stellina glimmers throughout. Love it so much! This pattern consists of 2 simple rectangles seamed together ingeniously to create this wearable top – you can wear it to the beach, for a night out or however you like! Toss a little tank top underneath and you’re golden.
Easy double crochets are broken up with a few spacey rows! I hope you enjoy making this lovely crochet tank / tee pattern and that you love wearing it! We really had a blast prepping it for you.
Download here, my beauty, and have a great day!

This is SO beautiful!! I’m just learning how to crochet (and knit) so I need to practice a little more and then I want to make this!! Thank you for the amazing patterns! I love your tutorials, you’ve taught me so much and inspired me to pick up a new hobby. 💕
Thank you so much! You will be crocheting things like this and far more challenging things in no time. 😊
I’ve started this too. I’m using a fingering weight wool like yarn. I find that it’s stretching lengthwise. I ripped it because it seemed so long and decreased by 20 stitches of foundation. It’s now seeming to stretch again. My gauge is good, tension is the same throughout. I have counted, the stitch count is the same throughout as well is it supposed to stretch?
It depends on the type of yarn you are using to crochet with. If you are using a yarn that doesn’t retain its shape, the project will likely stretch. Let me know what type of yarn you are using (including fiber content) and I will see if I can help. ❤️
Hi Chandigarh. I’m in the middle of making this awesome tee. So far it looks amazing. I will keep you posted. Kim.
Thanks Kim! I’m so glad you are enjoying it! ❤️
I’m laid up battling cancer and am about to start crocheting this little beauty. I’m looking forward to wearing it on summer days when I’m feeling stronger. Also I’ll need to wear it before my daughter visits and “steals” it from me!
Hi, Suzy! You will look fabulous wearing this tank on those summer days. Make sure to hold it tight 😘. Sending you love. ❤️❤️
Hi! If I was to make this too in a size Medium, how many yards of fingering yarn will i need? Thanks in advance! It’s a super cute design!
About 1300 yards.
I am making this with Abbey Road Kung fu cotton. The video was easy to follow. I am going to finish it and wear it before we get our hot Queensland summer. Thanks for your fun video. You capture the joy of crochet perfectly Chandi !
Hi! I found a beautiful silky dk weight (Vera gathering yarn), that I’m almost finished one rectangle. I hope it’s not too heavy, love the pattern! Can’t wait to finish it!
Wonderful!
Hi Chandi! I love your videos and I’m inspired to crochet. Your Cirrus top is beautiful. Can you tell me the yardage or weight for an XS? I’ve got some fingering weight linen. Each skein is 168 yd / 50 g. I think I’ll need more than 2. Thanks!
Each of our skeins are 439 yds and we used about 800 yards for this design. I hope this helps a little. 🙂
Hi! I am an avid knitter. This is my first crochet garment. I bought your pattern and have started. Thanks for the great video as well! Is there a recommendation for the seaming? Do you just whip stitch or mattress stitch sew the seam or do a crochet seam? If crochet seaming can you please explain how to to it?
Thanks
Amy
Yes, we generally recommend a mattress or whip stitch.
Hi! I just bought the Cirrus pattern and am hoping to use some of the yarn in my stash. I’m not sure what type would be best, since the glimmer fingering you used is no longer available and leads to a dead link. Can you tell me what fiber/blend you recommend? I’d love to use some of my merino wool (or merino blends) in a fingering weight. Please let me know what types of yarn you would recommend. Thanks!!
Hi Mary Ann, thank you for your message. So the Glimmer Fingering base has the following fiber content: 65% Superfine Superwash Merino Wool, 20% Nylon, 15% Gold Stellina with 437 yards. So I’d say any merino-nylon blend would work for your Cirrus top.
I hope this answered your question. Please, let me know if you have any additional ones I can help you with. Have a great weekend. 💕
Hi Chandi Your Cirrus top is so elegant and lacy and I would like to make it in an equivalent yarn to the Glimmer Fingering yarn. What yarn would you recommend that also has a golden fleck in it, to achieve the same effect? Many thanks! Anne
Hi Anne,
thank you for your message.I’m happy to help.
Unfortunately, we don’t carry any bases with stellina/metallic anymore. But I can offer you alternatives that are similar in yardage and fiber content or will give you a silky look.
Our Sincere Sock base (https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/categories/fingering/sincere-sock.html) is probably the closest to the Glimmer Fingering minus the metallic (Sincere Sock: 75/25 Merino/Nylon; Glimmer Fingering 65/20/15 Merino/Nylon/Stellina).
Alternatively, you could use Moongleam Fingering (https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/categories/fingering/moongleam.html). It’s very similar in yardage, contains Cotton and Silk, and will drape beautifully.
I hope this helps and that you’ll find something you like.
Have a great day! – Johanna 💕
