I just had one of my favorite vacations painting en plein air at Kiawah Island, SC where I painted sand dunes carved by the wind, marshes lit by sunshine and luminescent blue skies of cobalt blue, pale pink and yellow at the horizon. Numerous beachgoers stopped along their way to talk with us. We felt like we had gained new friends we hope to see again when we return to Kiawah to paint yet another fleeting moment of wind, sand, sky, and marsh. Couldn’t have asked for more except to capture all those colors, sounds, and visions in yarn to knit a scarf to wrap everything around me.
