I get asked this question a LOT….
“Chandi, how do I change colors in my knitting (crocheting)?”
It’s so easy.
Knitting is super simple as you just drop the old color and pick up the new. I do give some tips on whether to cut your ends or pull them up the side.
And with crocheting, you just have one little trick to remember.
So have a look and let me know what you think in the comments below.

This is a good tutorial video, Chandi. In the crocheting, after I add the new color at the beginning of the new row, I will lay the tails across the top of the piece being worked and do the stitches over them so that I won’t have to weave them in later on. For the knitting, though, I wind up having to weave the tails in.
Thank you Chandi! You make it look so easy.
Alway love the tutorials!! I haven’t had a knit project yet that I have had to change colors but now I think I could do it. Although I do change colors all the time in crochet. And I would have to agree with Ms. Claudia about just working the stitches over the tails. It makes it a lot faster in the end when you are finishing up your project 🙂
Much Love 🙂

Thank you Chandi. I never know how I want to do color changes, or even what to do with yarn of multi-colors when the skein runs out. I’m knitting an alpaca vest with a hand-dyed color way, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to felt join the new ball or do it the way you did, by just adding new yarn a beginning of row. I did it the way you did, by joining it at the beginning of the row and I’m glad I did as the tail will be hidden in the seam. Thank you for all your great videos, you have taught me so much. You are such a sweetie!
Chandi you are great, love the videos I can follow everything. Your technique is wonderful. I’m finally learning how to knit. Thank you keep up the good work. Barb Snellstrom
