Hello, my sweet sunflower! I hope you are having an amazing day! Today, I have a soothing, meditative, moon inspired crochet shawl for you. I hope you’ll keep reading to learn all about this beautiful design!
Lune was designed by Elisabeth Carr. When asked about this pattern, Elisabeth said, “Lune is a crescent shaped shawl that is worked from the center out. The purpose of this design was to create a shawl with simple textures, lace, and color changes. This shawl was inspired by the crescent moon, which is a symbol of female empowerment. More specifically, the waxing crescent represents increased energy and positivity, and the waning crescent represents the removal of negative energy. I hope this design inspires you and brings you as much joy during its creation as it has me.” This Adventurous Beginner level pattern is for those crocheters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Stitches include double crochet, back post double crochet, and front post double crochet.
Lune uses our wonderfully soft and toasty Twisted Tweed Sport yarn. This unique fiber blend includes two types of wool that are twisted together. Because they take the dye differently, the result is a cool, barber pole effect with gold, plum, and brown Donegal Tweed neps flecked throughout. This yarn base has such an earthy, homey, charming feel. It can be dressed down and worn in the most casual of cozy settings or dressed up for elegant occasions. Twisted Tweed Sport has a heirloom, yet hip, modern vibe. This yarn is a heartwarming blend of 43% Superwash Merino Wool, 42% Fine Merino Wool, and 15% Donegal with 384 yds/351 m per skein.
The sample shown here was made with our Grassland Hues Twisted Tweed Sport Kit and used approximately 1,460 yds/1,335 m total (Color A: 370 yds/338 m, Color B: 370 yds/338 m, Color C: 350 yds/320 m, and Color D: 370 yds/338 m).
We filmed a video tutorial showing how to get started and work the three special stitches found in this pattern. Take a look!
This pattern includes written and charted instructions, as well as a schematic.

So beautiful! I love the colors you used for this shawl. Thank you so much for sharing.
This is breathtaking. ! And I think- I hope that I have the yarn for it because I have vowed to not buy more when I have an entire wall filled with
Skeins of yarn! 🧶 😂 oh my what’s a girl to do?!!! I must make this one!!!
This is a beautiful shawl! I had some yarn that is just perfect, so I started following your wonderful directions on youtube. But I have completed row 13 and my stitch count does not correspond to what the directions say. I did have 21 V-stitches at the end of Row 10. Can you help me figure out what I did wrong between rows 11-13?
Thank you for your help.

Just started this shawl, but in the Rustic Hues. LOVING the feel of the yarn! After winding this yarn into cakes, I sat there just rubbing the cake gently across my cheek, so soothing! I’m a slow crocheter, but will update if I can.
