Hello, my dazzling diamond! I hope you are having an amazing day so far! Spring is fully and truly here, and I have two treats for you today. The first is a delightful, beaded, knitted shawl that features a lovely gradient fade. I hope you’ll continue reading to learn more about this week’s beautiful pattern, as well as my second treat!

Golden Hour was designed by Amy Mercier. When asked about this springtime shawl, Amy said, “The Golden Hour is the period of time when the sun is low above the horizon; direct sunlight softens into beautiful, golden, diffused light. This shawl was inspired by that beautiful, warm glow of light that bathes the earth until sunset. This is reflected in the gradient color scheme along with a ripple of textural stitches and tiny sparkles of beads to catch the light. Create your own golden hour to work on this piece, free of stressors and distractions. Remember, although the golden hour may be fleeting each day, you will have the opportunity to live in that moment again tomorrow.”

This Intermediate level pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include increases and decreases, cluster stitches, and beading. The pattern includes written and charted instructions, as well as a schematic.

Now for my second treat! Golden Hour also celebrates the return of our crazy popular, Limited Edition Blossom Fingering yarn, as well as this year’s newest colorways! Blossom Fingering is a perfectly beautiful blend of 50% Bamboo, 30% Merino Wool, and 20% Lyocell that is soft and draping with a subtle shimmer. The Lyocell gives this yarn a subtle glow, and various stitches will reflect the light differently. Blossom Fingering is a gorgeous, fingering weight yarn that’s ideal for multi-seasonal use and is perfect for shawls and wraps, garments, accessories, blankets, baby items, home decor, and more! 402 yards/366 meters per skein.

The sample shown here was made with colors: A) Bluebonnet, B) Pastoral, C) Balmy Afternoon, D) Bryony, and E) Sprout. You’ll need one skein of each color. Our sample used approximately 1,076 yds/984 m total: A) 208 yds/190 m, B) 220 yds/201 m, C) 220 yds/201 m, D) 220 yds/201 m, and E) 208 yds/190 m.

This yarn base and this year’s colors are Limited Edition. Once they are sold out, they are gone for good, so be sure to purchase all you need for your project.

We filmed a video tutorial demonstrating how to make the cluster stitches, as well as two ways to string beads. Have a look!

Don’t you just love the stitch detail on this shawl? I adore the glossiness of the yarn and its silky texture, too! The colors are like a beautiful breath of Spring! Let me know in the comments what colors you will use to knit your Golden Hour shawl.
