Hello, my beautiful blossom! I have a fun, crochet cardigan pattern to share with you today, and I’d love to tell you more about it!
Azorella was designed by Janica York Carter. When asked about her design, Janica said, “This seamless crocheted cardigan is worked from the top down, beginning with single crochet and ending with decorative puff stitches. The edging is a simple reverse single crochet stitch, and the sleeves are worked in the round. Try it on as you go to make sure you have a good fit. Once you know the shoulders and armholes sit well on your frame, you can be confident everything else will work out well. Customize your perfect shape by adding or decreasing rows in the body or sleeves for your desired length, or even omitting the decorative portion of the sleeves altogether. Be sure to purchase enough yardage to accommodate any additional length.”
This Adventurous Beginner level pattern is for those crocheters who are ready to make a garment. Techniques include puff stitches, reverse single crochet stitches, and working in the round.
Azorella is made with our ever popular Dewy DK yarn. Dewy DK is a squishy, plump, and deliciously soft blend of 70% Superwash Merino Wool, 20% Nylon, and 10% Silk. This beautiful yarn produces excellent stitch definition and wonderful drape. Sure to be a favorite for all of your heirloom items. 250 yds/228 m per skein.
The Azorella cardigan is offered in sizes XS-5XL, and sizing is based on one’s finished bust size. Azorella requires approximately 1250 yds (1150 m) to 3000 yds (2760 m) of yarn total, depending on the size made. The sample shown here was made in a size Small and is modeled on a 34″ bust with 4″ of positive ease. It was made with our Mountain Peak Dewy DK yarn.
Watch this video in which I demonstrate how to make a mini version from start to finish, including foundation single crochet, reverse single crochet edging, and the puff stitch.

Hi Chandi,
This is a beautiful patterns, and the yarn is stunning. I’d love to win it. I started knitting and crochet in 2020, at the grand old age of 49! I’ve been a needlepoint and en]mbroidery girl forever, but suddenly managed to get my head around the knit & crochet idea, and I love it!
Kind regards, and thanks for all your kindness and encouragement

I just started crocheting at 48 when all the stress that came into my life losing my dad , my best friend ,and my brother it’s been a horrible two years for me so I decided to pick up chrocheting I use to watch my mother do it when I was young but at that time I couldn’t sit still long enough to chrochet but now since I have started to do it I can’t stop crocheting and love learning your style so beautiful your work .
Hi I love this sweater design. I am 71 years old and have been crocheting since I was 6. My mother taught me when I had a prolonged hospital stay and had to stay in bed for months due to rheumatic fever. Crocheting became one of my loves.
I started crocheting around age 13. I love your patterns!!
