Hello, my sweet sunbeam! This week, I have two treats to share with you. First, is this bolero wrap called Embrasser, and I hope you’ll read on to learn all about it.
Embrasser was designed by Johanna Huck. When asked about this design, Johanna said, “Embrasser is a bolero-style wrap that features a diamond-shaped lace body and cuffs at each end. It can be worn as a wrap, but also offers the opportunity to cover your arms when worn as a bolero. The body is worked flat as a long rectangle before both short ends are joined in the round to prepare for the single crochet cuffs. The body section includes an easy six-row repeat that only requires knowing how to single crochet, double crochet, and make chain stitches. Let Embrasser wrap your body like a gentle hug.
The new Signature Fingering yarn base is a blend of Baby Alpaca, Linen, and Mulberry Silk. It not only stands out for its softness and sheen, but will bloom with blocking, which makes it the perfect choice to celebrate Expression Fiber Arts’ journey as a company.”
This Intermediate level pattern is for those who feel comfortable with crocheting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include double crochet v stitch and single crochet ribbing, garment blocking and construction. Now for our second treat! Our limited edition Signature Fingering yarn is perfect for this bolero wrap. This yarn is so soft and has beautiful drape. This collection is meant to symbolize our journey as a company. Things may shift and change, but like the linen running throughout the skeins, we strive to stay true to our values of positivity, joy, and the pursuit of constant improvement.
Signature Fingering is lovely for items you want to treasure for years to come. The linen fiber in each colorway is dyed in our signature aqua blue color, which ties all of the shades together, while the other fibers are dyed in complementary colors. This yarn is a blend of 30% Linen, 30% Mulberry Silk, and 40% Baby Alpaca. 448 yd/ 410 m per skein.
We made a video showing you how to crochet the six-row repeating body stitch and how to wear this bolero. I hope you’ll take a look!
The pattern contains written and charted instructions, as well as a schematic.

The blues and aquas always call to me – ocean colors!! I adore the lacework of this pattern and look forward to casting on. Thank you again for another fun tutorial and exquisite pattern! Hugs!
I am doing the Embrasser just a question the Single Crochet RIB – should it be done separately or crochet with the cuff as we crochet- Thanks for your answer.
Hi Lynn,
thank you for your question. I’m happy to help.
It is crocheted with the cuff so you continue where you slipped stitched and chain ch 61. When you come back and reach the cuff section you will slip stitch into 2 cuff stitches to anchor the sc rib to the cuff. I hope this makes sense.
Let me know if you have further questions.
Have a nice day! – Johanna 💕
So I do 2 sl st to the next 2 sc from the cuff – thank you for your prompt answer I appreciated
Sincerely, LYnn
Yes, that is correct. 💕
