Hello, my dear one! I have some incredibly exciting news to share with you! We’re going to be learning how to read knitting charts today. They are easier than you think and even a beginner knitter can easily learn this helpful technique.
As an example, in our video tutorial this week, we’re showing how easy it is to read knitting charts in our newest knit shawl or scarf pattern: Reprieve.
Reprieve, created for you by Jane Vanselous, consists of simple combinations of knit and purl stitches that create geometric shapes that reflect light, providing textural interest to this wrap design. The stitch repeats are relatively short and easily worked by an adventurous beginner.
This is just the sort of project that I reach for when needing a mental break from the hectic world around me.
Since there are only basic stitches in this pattern, like knits and purls, it’s great for learning to read charts.
This pattern contains written instructions and stitch charts so you can compare the two, bounce back and forth and really learn to understand how to read knitting charts. I promise, once you get the hang of it, you just may prefer reading charts!
We have filmed a video tutorial for you showing you how to easy it is, even for beginners, to read knitting charts in patterns and how to work a couple of rows in this pattern. Take a look and let us know what you think:
To add to fun, we are going to be doing a Knit Along (KAL) on this pattern. The contest will be hosted all on Ravelry, so click this LINK to check out all the fun! If you have any questions you’ll have a host of other folks ready and willing to help!
Download Reprieve today!
I appreciate you reading, and if you’d love to get brand new, premium knit and crochet patterns weekly, just hop onto our email list there on the site. We list new patterns most Fridays and many are free for a limited time. I hope to see you there. That’s our special lil’ place on the internet of positivity and joy!
Talk to ya soon.
XOXOXOÂ Chandi

Hi Chandi,
I agree with you, this yarn is so soft and oh my gosh soft. I ordered enough for other projects I like it so much.
It looks like the pattern colors goes Entwine—Vista—See the world—Worth the Climb—Winding Trail, with Entwine between each. Is that right?
I do like your combinations.
Thanks.
Yes, that is perfect! I’m so glad you love it! 🥰
