Hello, my amazing friend!  Our knitting pattern for you this week is our Melting Transitions Shawl!

Melting Transitions is an Advanced Beginner pattern and is designed for those knitters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations.

I designed this stunning wrap to remind me of the beautiful spring you experience after cold, dark Alaskan winters. Winters in Alaska can be brutal. Extremely dark and cold and often very isolated and lonely. But when you make it through and the lakes begin to break up, the snow starts to melt, the sun gets higher and higher in the sky each day… Ahhhh. It’s a time of transition and hope and excitement for the spring and summer ahead!

I hope that while you’re making it you feel hopeful, joyful and know good things are ahead.

This lovely shawl is made with our Alpaca Silk DK in our Melting Hues kit for a warm and incredibly soft shawl that can be enjoyed for years to come!

We have filmed a video tutorial for you showing you how to work up through row 9 on this pattern. Have a look:

Made in simple seed stitch wedges, this is an easily adjustable pattern!

The sample shown used approximately 850 yards total of Dk weight yarn but you can easily adjust the yarn weight and needle size if you prefer.

I hope knitting you love knitting this shawl as much as I loved designing it for you! Have fun choosing your colors, based on whatever is inspiring you at the moment. Perhaps a sunset? Or a swan on a lake. Maybe a cute coffee shop or a furry friend. Anything can be inspiration for a color palette!
