Greetings, lovely one!
Our knitted pattern this week is a statement piece!
Anuket is a knit, triangular shawl designed by Janica York Carter and is made with our dreamy Expression Fiber Arts Sincere Sock Fingering Weight Yarn.
Have a watch! We have filmed a video tutorial for you showing you how to knit the body of the shawl, the lace edging and the fun wavy edge.
Anuket is a goddess of the Nile. Like an ever-changing river, this asymmetric triangular shawl flows from deepest greens to palest blues. This pattern uses three colors, but never more than one color at a time.
Knit from the narrowest tip, each right side row begins with a simple increase to create the shawl’s shape and is then knit across. The garter stitch body has a simple eyelet lace edging to keep things interesting while still being easy enough to knit while chatting or watching your favorite show. An eyelet lace border that echoes the knit-as-you-go edging completes the final border.
I appreciate you reading and if you’d love to get brand new, premium knit and crochet patterns weekly, just hop onto our email list there on the site. We list new patterns most Fridays and many are free for a limited time. I hope to see you there.

I have some of your camel/silk, 9 hanks actually 😆, and I’m going to make this shawl from some of those.
Wonderful! <3
I am using your Pearlescent fingering yarn to make this shawl. I’m making great progress so far. 🤗
Awesome, Deirdre! I’m so glad you are making progress! 💕💕
That shawl is magnificent!! Just beautiful! 🙂
I love this pattern. your energy is so contagious ..thank you
Hi how many lace points should I have before starting the lace border pls.
Where is the written pattern?
You can find the pattern here: https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/anuket.html
hello , I love your Anuket Shawl, but i have a question on the pattern. I am new to readig patterns, In the lace edging part where are intructions for rows 3,5,7,9 and 11. the same for the lace border it skips rows
They are the same as row 1. I hope this helps. 🙂
Hi Chandi. I ordered the yarn and exact colours used in your sample. I can’t wait to receive them although it will be a long wait as I’m in British Columbia 🇨🇦. I love those teal gradient colours…they speak to my soul. Thanks for the pattern. I’ve never made anything that large before so am really looking forward to this beautiful shawl.
Hi Chandi,
The description says that the pattern is customizable, but there is no information on how one customizes the pattern. I am working with 880 yds of
yarn.
Thank you
Since the pattern is ever increasing you can just stop at any time. I would leave off the final edge border if you’re unsure how to adjust for that and just work a few rows of garter stitch. Thanks! I hope that helps.
Yes, it does! Thanks!!
I just picked colors I liked and ended up with the same ones in your example. Great minds love the same yarn I guess.
I LOVE this shawl though the set up in my living room to create a surface large enough to block it was hilarious.
I am excited about the soon-to-come knit along!
This is just so beautiful. Almost finished with current shawl and then get to begin this, with the same colors you chose. Watching your video makes me realize again how marvelous it is that we can create beautiful and useful things with a piece of string and two sticks! Thank you for the lovely pattern and all your work on the yarn itself. Have a beautiful day.
I’m sorry, but I am not understanding the pattern. I’ve created an account here, but I am not seeing specifically how to do this pattern when all the other patterns were very simple. I’m sorry. I just don’t see it, and I want to make this shawl!
Here is the link to the pattern for you. It will explain in detail how to work it. I hope this helps. https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/anuket.html

I just started Anuket and I have to say, this is the first time in a very long time that I am actually enjoying my knitting. I purchased the Kit and I love the feel of the yarn. I like that you specify the range of difficulty of the pattern. Nothing is worse than getting a pattern and yarn and find your constantly fighting to understand the pattern and actually knitting it. Your video was so helpful and your bubbly personality really makes me feel good. I look forward to all your emails filled with inspiration. I'll be a constant customer. Thanks for being who you are.
I am so glad you are enjoying it! 😍😍
I am using Malabrigo Arroyo superwash merino wool to knit this. Size 6 needles made a gauge too small so I am going up to 8. Just concerned that since this is a superwash wool will the shawl end up being too big, heavy after blocking? Maybe I should stay at a 6 needle. I saw you used a superwash for your model. Did it stretch a log after blocking?
Thank you Chandi. I am a beginner in knitting and appreciate your video. I have just ordered the yarn this morning.. I know it will take a while before I receive the package [Ontario, CA). The last order took about four weeks. In the meantime, I have other projects to keep me going.
💜💜
Hello, As a beginner, I am enjoying knitting the pattern. I love the colours. I am not to sure how to read a section of the pattern. When you start with colours A and B, it says to repeat 1-12 three times. How many points should I have, three or nine before starting with Colour B.
