Hello, Beautiful One.
Introducing our latest knit cardigan, Enchanted.
Enchanted was designed for you by Kristina Smiley.
Enchanted is a simple shrug style or unstructured cardigan made from a basic rectangle. This cardigan features easy lace repeats between uncomplicated garter stitch columns. A 2×2 ribbing runs along the top and bottom of the piece when laid flat, and creates a lovely trim along the front once the cardigan is seamed to shape. This is a perfect project for road trips to your favorite enchanted destination.
Have a watch! We have filmed a video tutorial for you of some of the lacework and I show you how to seam this amazing cardigan pattern!
The sample shown features our Sparkle DK weight yarn in Oxblood (A), Red Ranunculus (B), Burgundy (C), and Tawny Port (D). Also sold as our Enchanted Hues kit.
Sparkle DK has some gorgeous shimmer.
If you’re on IG, be sure to post if you make this so we can see! #enchantedcardigan #expressionfiberarts @expressionfiberarts

I’m in the middle of knitting this! The pattern is very easy to follow. You can detect very quickly if you made a mistake and it’s easy to undo as well. Hopefully I’ll be able to sew it when I am done. This is the part that always worry me the most!
Where can i send you a picture of my Enchanted cardigan?
You can send it to me here: https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/contact-us/ or you can post on Facebook or Instagram and tag me. I can’t wait to see it! 💕
Dear Chandi. How do I find out how much wool each cardigan requires and also what weight of yarn. My email address is [email protected]. Would you please reply. Thank you
We used this kit here: https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/enchanted-hues-sparkle-dk.html Which is 1100 yards.
10 rows left on this surprise cardigan for my wife. Thanks to the second batch of Tenacious Hues Chandi dyed!
I have a question! I just started this pattern and have done 16 rows. I should have checked my gauge sooner! The width of the piece I have on the needles is only 31″, which seems way too small if the finished piece is supposed to have a width of 45 inches. Seems like I should start over and either use bigger needles or cast on more stitches. I am concerned if I add stitches to the width I will make mistakes in the pattern. Do you have any suggestions? I love the yarn and am looking forward to seeing what it looks like when I am done. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.
Katy, the easiest route would be to start over, yes, and just make sure you get gauge before proceeding with the actual piece!
Hey there, Chandi 😀 I was just wondering what kind of CO would you recommend for this cardigan? I tend to default to long tail CO but I tend to have trouble doing that when the number of stitches is this many :-O Any suggestions?
Ardee, I’d recommend the long tail cast on for this ideally so just make sure you have plenty of tail before starting! 🙂
Hey Chandi! Absolutely love your yarns and patterns. I’m hoping to buy some yarns soon.
Thank you for sharing your love of yarn
I love this pattern so easy to knit but the outcome is so beautiful. Thank you 😊
Hello, I’m at about 50 rows 😅 By reading the comments above I just realized I forgot to measure the length of the row and I’m only at about 36in 🙁 I just checked the pattern and the final should be 45in x 38in. So could I simply knit 45in of rows instead to get the same rectangle? It’ll just be « turned » 90 degrees (not sure how to explain) Would that still work?
I hope you’re still answering comments! Thank you for your advice.
Yes, that should work just fine. Your stitch pattern will just be oriented 90 degrees differently. That’s a great solution!
Sorry when I click the link it takes me to another cardigan. Where do I get the pattern from ?
The links seem to be working, but you can download the Enchanted Cardigan here, too: https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/enchanted.html
Adventurous beginner knitter – is the gauge measurement to be taken before or after blocking? Thanks!
Hi Nikki,
thank you for your question. I’m happy to help. I believe the measurements are after blocking. I’d suggest to block your 2 pieces first and then sew them together. It’ll be easier to block.
I hope this helps. Please, let me know if you have further questions. Have nice day! – Johanna 💕
