I finished a sweater!
This one took me a couple months in total – why, oh WHY do we make sweaters and knit/crochet other items?
I’ll ask you – why do YOU do it?

For me, it’s meditative. Creative. Calming. FUN! And I know that nobody else in the world has that EXACT item. It’s not mass-produced. It’s unique. It’s a sense of accomplishment.

•Pattern is by Andrew Mowry – Nurtured Sweater. I made size 1:
•Yarn: I held 2 strands together throughout the project. I chose this look because it made my heart go boom. 🙂 It looks almost like brown rice – soft pearly hints and cozy tweed. So in love!
For my size I used in total:
-2 skeins Twisted Tweed Sport in Nougat
-1 skein Alpaca Silk Lace in Purity
Just hold 1 strand of Nougat with 1 strand of Purity throughout the project and you’ll get this look.
If you make a different size, just make sure you have enough yardage.

I made a few tweaks to the pattern!
-I lengthened the ribbing at the bottom and on the sleeves (so I could roll them up) and used the smaller recommended needle size throughout the project without changing, for a tighter fit.
-Also, pretty obviously, I made the sleeves stockinette stitch instead of the honeycomb stitch that is shown in her pattern throughout the entire project. I did this to create a raglan sleeve look and I love it!
Anyhoo – have a fun day stitching away! Have you ever made or considered making a sweater? Today’s the day to try one!

P.S. We are working on a pattern for you for later in the year which will walk you through making your very first sweater. Woo!
Awesome sweater and yarn!
lovely, i couldn’t wear it though, my tummy would show, i don’t like my tummy
Gorgeous! Love the fit!
It’s stunning! Wear it in peace and joy! I love to knit and spin (and I’m a new weaver!) because working with my hands to create something is calming and satisfying.
