Chandigarh, this is Anne Lundin. I am currently knitting the McFaddin cardigan. I am not sure of the decrease instruction of: decrease every fourth RSRow/every 8th row 14 more times..
I checked at my local knit shop and the owner was not sure either. Would you mind clarifying this instruction for me, please?
Hi Anne,
thank you for your question. I’m happy to help.
The instruction every fourth RS row/8th row 14 more times, means you will work the Decrease Row: K1, ssk, work all patterns to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1; on every 4th right side row, which corresponds to the 8th row.
Written out that’s
1. Row: Dec Row -> K1, ssk, work all patterns to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1
2.-8. Row: Work in established pattern
9. Row: Dec Row -> K1, ssk, work all patterns to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1
10.-16. Row: Work in established pattern
and so on for 12 more times since you already did 2 decreases (which adds to 14).
I hope this makes sense. Please, let me know if that’s clear. I’m happy to give more assistance if you have further questions.
Have a great day! – Johanna 💕
