P.S. The yarn shown in the video is my Dewy Dk yarn base in colorway: More Merlot, Please. Colors come and go and the color shown may or may not be available when you click over. But you can see all the shades at that link.
.
The 3 skein method makes perfect sense when seeing it on the white board. Thank you for that.
thanks Chandi, this is really helpful! I especially like the 3-skein method!
Thanks for the great idea. I hadn’t even thought about different ways to join in yarns. This eliminates the 3-5 double stitches or loose join in points at the beginning of a row. Thanks again. Naomi
nicely done! love learning new ideas! Thanks!!!
Thank you
Great tip thank you x
Great video!! It definitely cleared up my confusion on alternating skeins! Thank you!!
Thanks. I am getting ready to start a project using this method and it’s great info!
I love your explaination! I also adore that you made it fun! Thanks for helping me make this click.
Hi, Chandi, I just want to know if I need to tie in the first alternate skein, just for stability. The rest of the video was very clear and easy to follow your instructions.
From the way you described the three skein method, I’m thinking there isn’t any joining of the second skein. I shall try…
You are correct. You don’t have to tie in the second skein. Great question!
I really was searching for 3 skein alternating! Thank you!
You are welcome!
Your tutorials are so helpful! Thank you.
Thanks Chandi,
This was very helpful.
So how do you alternate when working in the round? Starting on sweater and it’s knit top down and I’m trying to figure out how and where to switch, avoid having to somehow switch in the midst of raglan sleeve etc.
Great question, Janet! Same concept – just pull the yarn up the inside of your work, wherever you feel it fits best to do so. 🙂
How does this work when knitting in the round?
Thanks
That is a great question. It is similar to knitting flat, you just pull the yarn up the inside of your work.
There is also a technique called helix knitting. It’s very similar to the alternating in a flat piece. If you google it, it will come up!
I have a project that requires 4 skeins. How would you suggest alternating them for the World Tour pattern?
I would alternate 2 and 2. Hope this helps! ❤️

Thanks for a wonderful sweater pattern. going to refresh my crocheting skills.
Dear Chandi,
Thank you so very much for everything you do!
I discovered your videos and home page about half a year ago, I’ve learned lots of new things and got inspired by your lovely nature!
Big thanks for you and your team, which stands behind all your amazing videos and products!
Warmest regards
Thanks for the clarification. I really enjoy your approach to teaching on the videos. Can you explain how to find older videos. There was one for your scarf with three distinct sections. I lost the third section video and cannot find it on your site. Help!
PS- I ordered yarn for your latest video and can’t wait for it to arrive so I can start knitting!
Thank you! You can look up prior videos at the tutorials section on the homepage. The scarf you are looking for might be https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/rene.html or https://www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/tamsyn.html.
I love your tutorials! I learned to knit and purl as a seven year old from a aunt for a lark. Over the years I have made simple scarves and a beginner sweater, but much of knitting was a mystery. I am in my mid sixties and a professional coustomer and seamtress but I had never had time until this pandemic to pursue knitting. With online tutorials and time it is possible to pursue more complicated patterns and knowledge without a teacher at ones side. I find your tutorials to be clear, to the point, with just the right amount of information for new learning. Thank you.
Chandi, I love your yarns! This is the first video I watched on your channel. While the information was valuable and easy to understand, I found your hand movements distracting. As a professional corporate training consultant for many years, I know that one of the first things that new trainers need to learn is controlling random hand, head or body movements. I know you are creative and have a bubbly personality, but your excessive movements diminish the impact of your message. Think of the person who says “ummm” or “like” frequently… soon we start counting the “ummms” rather than paying attention to content of the presentation. This is just a professional observation… I hope you will work on your presentation style, but please don’t change your yarns!
