Hello, my lil’ buttercup! This week, I have a delightful treat to share with you. Amado is a lovely, gradient color wrap, and I hope you’ll read on to learn more about it!

Amado was inspired by our Beloved Stars pattern, which was originally designed for us by Emily Walton. This is a generously sized, gorgeous shawl/blanket (a shlanket?!) and is perfect for transitional weather when you want a cozy, snuggly piece to wrap up in! The colors are reminiscent of a twilight sky, as the sun dips below the horizon and ushers in the evening. The sumptuous, repeating cables dance and play throughout the design, giving the shawl movement and interest. It is a piece that you’ll surely love for years to come!

Amado is an Intermediate level pattern. This pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. The necessary skills and concepts include cables, chart reading, and color changes.

Our Luster Worsted yarn is a fantastic choice for this delightful design. It is a soft and silky blend of 50% Lyocell and 50% Superwash Merino Wool. It’s a beautifully shimmering and soft, worsted weight yarn with a squish factor that is sure to please!

Amado measures 28” x 60” (71 cm x 152 cm), and the sample shown here used approximately 950 yds (869 m) total with 190 yds (174 m) of each color used (A-E).

The sample is shown in our Passionflower Luster Worsted kit.

We made a video showing you an alternative method for knitting the cables in this shawl. Take a look!
