This is part 3 out of 3 blog posts I’m writing, designed to inspire you to finally start and grow that online business you’ve been dreaming about.

If you missed Part 1, start with that here.  It’s all about the initial phases of business, why you want to start one and how to find what to sell.

Part 2 is here and is about getting started, setting your vision and taking daily action. I also answer a lot of questions that you might be asking yourself about. You might be having a lot of fears. We all do. You’ll find some helpful tidbits there.

This is Part 3 and is all about getting yourself out there, aka “advertising.”

How do I “get myself out there, advertise, find customers, etc?”

Excellent question! You can have the world’s most sensational product and if nobody who is interested finds it or sees it, you won’t have a business. You’ll have a room full of awesome products that aren’t selling.

Well, I have good news. These days, it’s quite easy to get yourself out there. It does take a lot of consistent action, but it’s fairly simple and doable.

Social Media:

This is an easy one. Build your follower list (by posting great, helpful, beautiful content that is shareable – ask yourself, would YOU want to see this post? And advertise if budget allows. Facebook ads, pinterest ads, instagram ads, twitter ads, etc) and then create a relationship with your customers. This is such a beautiful part of business. You get to mingle with wonderful people who love what you love!

Etsy/eBay:

If you’re selling on sites like Etsy or eBay, you’re in luck. You’ll get a lot of views just by being listed there. Make sure to have proper keywords in your listings (whatever people who want your product will be searching for) and you can also advertise on these sites as well by boosting your posts, if budget allows. Easy.

Bloggers:

Find bloggers who might love your product and have them review your product and post to their followers.

Your Own Blog:

Start your own blog (or vlog if you know how to make videos) and build up loads of creative, information, entertaining content. Make sure to share your posts on all your social media outlets! And learn basic SEO techniques to help the search engines find your posts.

Here’s the deal. I’ve talked a lot about business over the years and I want you to know it’s doable. Starting, maintaining and growing a business requires consistency, determination, constant learning and growth… you’ll be pushed and pulled in many ways and be forced to grow as a person. You’ll need to learn new skills because nobody knows everything when getting started. The learning never stops!

So in sum:

Determine you’re ready to start an online business.

Learn everything you can. All the information is out there. Go to the library and devour business books. Google every single question that you have.

And then get started. Try. Adjust. Learn. Grow.

Keep going.

Daily. Be consistent. Be prepared to work hard. Ignore the get-rich-quick gurus you’ll see around the web. They’re just trying to sell you something.

And most importantly, you can do it.

Post any questions you have below and I’ll do my best to answer!
