I LOVE these colors. I have entered and if I win, I will likely make something for my granddaughter and grandson who are moving to North Dakota next week. I hear that it gets pretty darn cold there in the winter. (not as cold as Alaska I’m sure!) :)

Reply

unity September 5, 2013 at 9:09 pm

Already subscribed! :)

I haven’t a clue what I would make if I won. It might sound weird, but, I would have to spend some time ‘talking’ to the yarn. XD

I think the silk might make some very lovely fingerless mitts or armwarmers. :)

Reply

Sheri L. Richards September 7, 2013 at 7:14 pm

Not weird at all. An artists medium often “speaks” to the artist. If it doesn’t the artist may not be listening, the timing isn’t right, or maybe they are not doing it right.

Reply

Bev September 5, 2013 at 9:09 pm

Entered, these yarns would be all about my hubby, except that silk I see sitting on the right, that will go with the rest of my stash of that silk and maybe encourage me to finish un-knotting what the kittens got into.
But seriously, those colors are perfect for stuff scarves and hats for My Love, and since he so generously bought me my pink yarn AND put the deposit on my sweet little Pomeranian he deserves some specials!!!

Reply

Anna September 5, 2013 at 9:37 pm

Entered! I’m so excited about the colors for your September giveaway. They are my mom’s favorite. I would make something for her out of the yarn, especially the silk one. I think I would use the silk yarn for her scarf, or perhaps mix the two yarns for interesting texture. This way the scarf could be both warm and nice to touch. I think I would make it more like a shawl, since my mom gets cold so easily.

Reply

Donna Reed September 5, 2013 at 9:38 pm

Fingerless gloves always feel nice here in the cool weather we have year-round; so I’s crochet a pair of them for myself or my Little Bubby’s mama.

But I just loved the speed of crochet and I dropped knitting! I wish I hadn’t but you are a great teacher! Thanks!

Looking at those lovely skeins, I will likely make cozy cowls for my daughter and two step-daughters – all in their teens. Or slouchy hats???And maybe a lacy-stitch shawl for myself!

I looked at the yarn you’re giving away this month and imagined what I would make. I think the first 3 yarns would end up being some crocheted cowls and I would experiment with some new stitches, maybe even the broomstick stitch. The silk yarns spoke to me and told me they’d like to be beautiful knit shawls. I’ve been collecting patterns, just waiting for the right yarn to come along!
