Happy Sunday, my lovelies!

It’s the start of another new week and I hope you are doing well.

I wanted to share this cool bracelet I made yesterday as well as updates on my vacation starting Wednesday!

Zentangle Yarn-Inspired Clay Bracelet

I had a free day yesterday and so decided to make this bracelet from 10 cent air-dry clay I had purchased at a yard sale. Hurray for deals! Clay in all its forms is another of my passions, aside from fiber/yarn things and it’s been awhile since I’ve done anything with it.

Step 1:

I formed little hearts by pressing them into a heart-shaped 1/4 tsp measuring spoon (also from a yard sale last year).

Step 2:

I let them dry (about half the day). They weren’t fully cured but were dry enough to draw on.

Step 3:

I used a permanent, fine-tipped marker in brown and did some Zentangle on each one. To incorporate my love for yarn/wool, each one has a hint of something yarnish. One says I ♥ Wool. One says Baaa. One has little yarn balls. One has knitting needles. Etc.

Step 4:

I used different colors of the permanent markers and colored in the Zentangle. (To seal, give each one a coat of clear nail polish)

Step 5:

I tried several different things. First I used stretchy cord, hot glue and beads and glued it into a bracelet. That seemed too unfinished for my lovely hearts. So I ripped that apart and used a needle-felting needle (it has barbs on it) to drill holes in the hearts (they were still soft enough to do this). I then beaded it the proper way with stretch cord.

I still wasn’t happy with that, so eventually decided on nylon jewelry wire and a clasp. I haven’t completed that yet as I don’t have little crimping beads for the ends, but will get those today or tomorrow and restring it.

Either way, I really love it!!

I hope it inspires you to create something lovely today. One of the funnest things is combining multiple things that you love into one craft.

What other crafts/artsy things do you do other than knitting or crocheting?

VACATION

In case you missed the last blog post, I will be leaving for vacation to the south come the middle of this week. So everything will be shut down during that time. I am still debating if I’ll leave the shop open for ordering or not. Either way, your orders won’t ship until I return in early August, around the 6th. For more info, see this blog post.

Have a beautiful Sunday!! I’ll leave you with this and remember you are loved!
